Considering this place as a wedding venue - beautiful view of the river from their deck and adjacent ball room. Pricing seems very competitive. Lobby makes a good first impression (has an old-style "grand" feel to it).

Doesn't claim to be what it isn't. Great for the price and the location is, in my opinion, perfect. Free parking with tons of room. It is old so it's not "fancy" but the views are 5/5 if you get one.

Hotel was mediocre. Front desk staff memeber Andre was very rude. He was on his phone during our arrival and acted like we weren t even present. Rude tone of voice the whole time and made a snide comment about my daughter knocking over her suitcase. Wouldn t recommend to anyone and will not be coming back.

We started a family tradition a few years ago by coming here for Thanksgiving brunch. It has been fabulous every year. The food is always excellent. Savory instead of pretentious or exotic. And the staff are fast, helpful and cheerful. Especially given that they are all working on a holiday.

Rooms are highly variable!!! Our first room had carpet beetles and plumbing issues while the second had no problems. We were staying for a convention, so the hotel was fully booked. Upon check-in we opened the door to garbage can full of plumbing parts and a hallway sink full of caulk and repair materials. When I went to use the bathroom sink (the one that was working), the handle fell off. They came to clean up, but the problems weren't immediately fixable and the 'repaired' sink was clogged. When we returned to the room, the bathroom sink handle fell off again and the hallway sink was still unusable. While I was calling the front desk a carpet beetle climbed onto the bed across from me! I think the room may have been put into circulation because of the crowd? The staff were understanding, we moved rooms, and we had no issues with the second. I'm quite surprised they used the first room to start with, since it clearly needed to be deep cleaned! I washed all of our clothes when we got home, so I don't think we brought any carpet beetles back with us, but Ugh! I expect we'll end up staying next year, because they host the convention, but I certainly wouldn't stay under other circumstances. I don't enjoy the Russian Roulette room experience or the risk of bringing pests home with us.

Worst 2-night experience we ve ever had at a big hotel like this. There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling from previous water damage. We had to call the front desk (spoke to the Assistant Manager who acted irritated with us for disturbing whatever he was doing) about the neighbor and their weed vaping in their room and out on their balcony. We watched out our peephole as the security guard came and stood outside their door for less than a minute and walked away without so much as even knocking on their door. The second he would ve opened their door, he would ve been overwhelmed with the same cloud that choked us out! We weren t able to use our balcony and had to block the bottom of all the doors with towels to try and keep the smell out! We will be back to stay on Jantzen Island but definitely not at The Red Lion Hotel!

Decent prices on rooms, not too clean though (our second stay here, 1st room had very small amount of mold above shower 2nd room had dirty floor and cobwebs above bed) seems more like they focus on hosting parties and events than providing comfortable stay.

Came to town for a conference and this place was perfect! Huge facilities. Tons of parking, tons of rooms, tons of conference rooms and ball rooms. They hosted a party in their lounge on the weekends, complete with line dancing! Our room had direct access to the pool. I walked my dog on the bike path between the hotel and river daily. There was not a sunrise or sunset that wasn't spectacular! Close to major stores and restaurants.

Looking for a cheap hotel and found this one for $141.00. Warning: this place is very packed on the weekend due to having a nightclub on the second floor in the lobby area, my room was on the 3rd floor so I didn't hear any music or noise while I was trying to sleep. Due to there being no parking they do let you park anywhere as long as it's not in front of a fire hydrant. They also tell you that you can park at their other property The Roadway which is about a 5 minute walk back to the hotel. Room service is available and every room has a safe. Amenities include: Tennis courts, pool, jacuzzi, fitness center, on site guest laundry, and a path for morning walks along the river.

The rooms are nice and the front desk staff is friendly. The room service is absolutely horrible. Tried to place an order for over an hour last night. After continuously calling we decided to just go get food from outside of the hotel. The next morning I was waiting on a breakfast order I had placed for between 9 and 9:20. At 1030 I called to ask where the order was. I was put on hold when the guy got back on the phone told me that someone tried bringing it and there was no answer and then hung up on me. I was literally waiting by the door since 9 so I could eat while doing my emails. I travel very often for work and rarely ever come across service so horrible. For the price of the room go to Oxford suites across the street. You'll be much, much happier.

There is absolutely no way this is a three-star hotel. Crappy staff, crappy rooms, drug use and partying going on and just a general lack of concern and respect for guests. Horrible, ancient beds that are are like sleeping on concrete with springs poking out and 20" TVs. Just awful.

Super outdated. Was disappointed in staff's response to people vaping inside the building, there was less than a quarter of a roll of tp in the room, flooring was in awful condition. We were told we'd have a room facing the pool but instead had a lovely view of the parking lot.

Nice hotel. Clean room, but a little warm as a/c was set to 76 degrees. Friendly and courteous staff. Nice view from the restaurant, but a little noisy because of proximity to Portland Intl airport. Food was pretty good, but a little overpriced. Wait staff were cheerful, attentive, and courteous.

Over all hotel was a great value. Our room was facing the parking lot so the view was not great. Rooms on the other side of the hotel faced Vancouver and offered excellent views of the skyline. Parking was free which was a us and retail staples such as target are with in walking distance.

Spacious rooms. Clean and nice. Seasonal pool and yearly hot tub, both outdoor and nice. It's right on the water with great views. Lots of close food. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was awesome and not as expensive as I was expecting. My only complaint was the poor sound control. I think it was that we had a door to the adjacent suite and a bunch of idiots in there were making all kinds of noise till about 4am. Although we called the front desk and they were quick to offer to send security by and/or assist us to another room for the rest of the night. All the pillows we're pretty full, could've used a few thinner options. Would recommend and visit again without hesitation.

I most recently attended this hotel for a work meeting and then a games convention. Their conference rooms are spacious and although they are a little bare bones...they provide water but no tea or coffee or anything (you can buy that there is a coffee kiosk in the lobby). The staff are great though always friendly and helpful. They seem to be very welcoming of the conventions as well.

Accommodations are good, it's located near fast food, chain restaurants, and a grocery store. Is also pretty convenient to interstate 5 and downtown Portland is between 15-40 minutes depending on traffic. View of the river and the I5 Brydge is nice.

The restaurant is horrible .. i had the pulled pork sliders and white bean chicken soup. Eat off site at all costs. You have downtown portland and pearl rigjt down the road with some absolutley great food..

We stayed a weekend just for fun. The room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated having control of the heating in the room and having enough towels and soaps for our stay. Bonus is finding a functional coffee pot with decent coffee and a refrigerator in the room! I was disappointed with the television system. The staff said they have recently switched to Comcast and were having some difficulty. We had numerous interruptions in programming. Also was bummed that there wasn't a dvd player. I have stayed in motels that offered those. The bed was acceptable, though I do wish there had been a thicker blanket. We did find an extra thin blanket in the closet. Other than that, I really enjoyed having a room overlooking the water and the Pearson Air Field. It was also neat to watch the planes flying overhead to PDX. The restaurant was iffy. We had breakfast Saturday morning. The service was subpar. Our server made disparaging comments regarding the table next to us in earshot of both. My meal was cold and our eggs were not cooked properly. I would stay here again, though I will likely not visit the restaurant. If you head out toward Cascade Locks, visit Thunder Mountain Brewery for a delicious traeger smoked burger and craft beer. You will be pleased!

Booked our room for a single overnight stay. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, comfortable, updated. We were fortunate and got a waterfront view overlooking the tennis courts. Many of the rooms (including ours) had a walk out balcony with a couple of chairs to look out over the Columbia River. No complaints whatsoever. Would absolutely stay there again and recommend to other guests.

Hotel was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. I was disappointed the wifi did not work in our room so did not give 5 stars. You could purchase internet but I feel it should have been included in the room price.

Lovely hotel with multiple and grand entrances. You actually go in on the second floor, and the first floor below is for conventions, etc. They have a diverse and liberal staff. Fair pricing for how nice it is.

Friendly nice guy at the front desk....very accommodating. Overall a beautiful hotel....beds were very comfortable and we rested well! Coffee was horrible but that's typical of every hotel. I was very impressed with the serenity and beauty of the hotel and surrounding area. Pet friendly as long as your pet is a dog.....obviously no pigs, horses, or snakes would be allowed in your room . We enjoyed the experience and I reccomended it to everyone else!!

It a very nice hotel. Clean and we have a great view of the water from the fourth floor. Plus we have a balcony to sit out on. Very dog and cat friendly. I love this place. We attended the CFA cat show at the Doubletree Lloyd's center.

I was very disappointed with the room and services provided. The room was not very clean and did not seem sanitized. I would have expected at least, hand saboteur or anti-bacterial soap and there was neither anywhere in the room. There were disturbing stains on the door and some hair in the tub that was definitely not mine. The common areas were dirty and the parking lots were full of people partying and grilling out and leaving a mess the next day, including empty booze bottles. On line it said there was room service, but there was none. I was charged a holding fee of $50 and then charged over $55. Part was a resort fee , which was undisclosed on the website and at check-in. I am still waiting for the rest of the amount to be credited to my bank account. The only redeeming quality was the pleasant person at the breakfast counter who went out of her way to be nice. The location was beautiful but they really need to clean up the place, inside and out. Other than the lobby, the whole place seemed dark and creepy.

Dated hotel but still has charm, the hotel does not have an adequate amount of elevators, the walk for some is too far and makes it difficult. The staff is helpful and willing to help making this a good place to stay.

Great hotel. Great staff. The food was pretty good. Highly recommend this place. I was there for almost 3 weeks. Always ate at the restaurant in the back, which had an amazing view. But then the restaurant moved to the front once the construction was done. Although the food and service was still the same, I missed the great view.

Hotel is old and dusty. Will trigger your allergies so be prepared. The bathroom is marble flooring so in the winter it gets really cold. Be sure to bring warm socks for the bathroom. The jacuzzi is useless in the winter. Way too cold to use it!

Otherwise, for the price the hotel is pretty decent. We got the room with the free breakfast and it was worth it. Probably would not have paid extra for the view of the lake tho. Definitely underwhelming.

Hotel was great, food was great. Groupon meal deal was misleading and looked down on by staff. I did not feel very welcomed and to use the groupon the way I thought it was going to work I would have had to make separate reservations and check out each day. Which I would have done if I had known. Now I'm just disappointed.

have been here for a conference, the catering and atmosphere was good and the setups in all the different rooms were great. Haven't actually stayed in the hotel though so can't speak to that.

Attended a professional event here. There was plenty of space in the building and the food was good. Signage to the event could have been better, otherwise it was a great place for an industry event such as this one.

I love this property, with its beautiful views of the river and the bridge. You can faintly hear the train whistles across the river that strikes nostalgia in your mind. On a sunny weekend day you can view boat after boat heading out for the day. I checked in on a Sunday evening, and was lucky enough to receive an upgrade to the Wenatchee suite. The parlor suites are nice, we booked one last December and its perfect if you want a common place for friends and family to gather for cocktails, pizza or both. The sofa and dining table are wonderful and the suite has 2 sliders to your own lanai. This room overlooked the pool, so had to morning been warmer, and had the pool been open for the season...it would've been perfect. I love the comfy king bed and the spacious bathroom. My room was quiet and I slept a bit too late in the morning, but the comfy bed....ahhhh. This hotel is near Janzten Beach ( old mall) now shopping center. Although there is no longer a merry-go-round there, there are several great stores and restaurants to check out...Stanfords by restaurants unlimited and Cracker Barrel as well as Panerra and BJ's Brewhouse. If you want snacks or beverages there is a Safeway nearby as well as Target. Easy I-5 access north and southbound and close to Portland Raceway. If you are touristing and love antiques...there are great stores across the bridge in Vancouver as well as a Sunday farmers market.

Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Rooms were relatively clean. View of the river and Mt Hood were great. Large rooms were nice, but bedsheets didn't strike me as clean or as fresh as I would've liked.

New Year's Eve celebrations really done up well here. A select menu with delightful cuisine. I endulged in their Prime Rib meal, excellently prepared and finished off with a tasty cheesecake. The servers were attentive and courteous, making the overall dining experience one to remember. The atmosphere is worthy of the term upscale. Set up in several locations were gaming tables for those who enjoy some light gambling. At 9 p.m., those still in attendance after dinner service were treated to the talent of the local band, One Brick Shy. Amazing group. Some tables were removed to make room for dancing in the new year. Overall, this is one excellent location in which to celebrate New Year's Eve.
