Absolute worst experience flying in a long time. Arrival was ok, took over two hours to get rental car and get out of the parking lot. Now leaving sitting on the runway sucking humid exhaust for over an hour with no hope of leaving anytime soon with over ten airplanes in line in front of us. Two hours late and then the captain says he's never seen delays this long...hmm

The service was good until I returned the car. My cellphone was left in the console and was not returned. Unfortunately it had to be taken by one of the employees. It is very sad to think someone would keep a phone that they did not pay for. All of my pictures from DC are now lost.

It has good views, and it is relatively easy to get to from the city, but plan for security lines than can get a little long, and there are some gates have very bad seating, and are very uncomfortable, but some gates are okay. It can get a little crowded, but overall this is a very good airport.

Always a good traveling experience. I travel frequently with my grandsons and I will say that TSA does a great job throughout the screening process. Airport is always clean and in good condition. Some of the stores and restaurants are closed due to the COVID, however there are still ample offerings.

This is my usual go-to airport when I'm in the area. I use to travel all over the world. It is metro accessible, has many dining options both before and after the security check point and maybe my favorite part has free WiFi. There's a Ben's Chili Bowl location here. One of the few in the city other than the original place and in Nationals Park that I'm aware of. For those of you not from the area it's a famous landmark in the area with great food.

No traveler in this day and age can go too long without WiFi at least. I've never been to any of the airline lounges here, but there is a USO lounge for military at this airport.

This airport needs some serious upgrades. Not enough charging areas for electronics. Most of the good shops and restaurants are outside the security area but the few inside were at least decent. TSA check point is very unorganized and lacks efficiency. Will try Dulles next time to see if better.

One of the worst small airports in the country. Overcrowded and illogical layout. Monitors are placed in areas that are not easy to find. The food court has a strange paying method, electronic kiosks which most people don't know how to use properly so the lines are longer and slower than they need to be.

Love this airport! Metro train hooks up to it. Small, yet offers quite a bit. Usually fly Delta and enjoy the checked baggage coming out right where you exit. Security can sometimes take a bit, but nothing compared to Orlando, New York, or Atlanta. Delta Sky Club on third floor of B terminal.

Going between terminals requires you to climb up and down metal stairs to get to a shuttle, no accessible entrence and exit and no assistance offered by employees. Didn't think today, not having clearly marked accessible access between terminals or having the option was possible. You have to lug your carry on down two flights of stairs and up two flights of stairs.

Flew here with Delta Airlines for a trip to Virginia. Had good service, better than other airports i've been to as you can see in my reviews. I can't necessarily recommend Ronald Reagan airport over Dulles airport because I've never gone to Dulles, but Ronald Reagan airport is definitely one of my favourites.

Terrible place to have to pick someone up and drop them off... spent 20 minutes driving in circles. NO SIGNS saying pickup or terminal arrivals. This place is so irritating I refuse to fly in or out of here, or pick anyone up EVER!

It goes without saying that the airport is a major convenience for those us that can use it for non-stop flights. There are well "proofed" transportation signs to get out and back into the airport. Of course, be warned that once on the freeways (especially towards Maryland), use updated maps or else getting back on track will require a scenic detour (I got an unsolicited drive along K Street).

Love the architectural details (since I travelled there nearly 20 years after the initial renovations were completed). The facilities are compact and therefore lend to congestion. I didn't realize that there were THREE runways since I have seen only one in use during my limited trips.

Love the River Visual Approach because of all the turns during final.

Do your homework; if you can use Metro during your trip (to avoid parking hassles) you can use it conveniently from the airport.

Love this airport!

Love this airport!
Chapel & nursing room. Dog relief aera (outside security) charging stations throughout the terminals even EV in the garage!
Just a few terminals and multiple convenient options for ground transportation. Just a few minutes metro ride to the heart of DC!

I give the Ronald Reagan Washington Airport five stars. I love how this airport has two different trains (BLUE and YELLOW) that can take you to the airport and the same when returning from the airport. It's nice to see the U.S. flag being displayed inside of the airport.

There are many upsides to using National vs. Dulles.

1. Ingress/egress flightpath is a great ride!
2. come/go views are unrivaled. a history/civics/social studies lesson from the air.
3. metro services it conveniently. that, alone, is a bonus. (try taking the rail from EWR into NYC. not that fun...).

I'm a DCA man through and through! This has always been a final destination for me (not sure if there's much of transferring going on here) but luggage has always swiftly been delivered plane-side. nice.

Never been to this airport before so I asked a young girl with locs who had a accent at the ticket counter where gate 34 was and she got a nasty attitude with me as if I'm supposed to know where to go. There are no signs about a shuttle bus, maybe that would help the customer not have to bother you while your on your cell phone taking selfies. Do your job or just quit. Sorry Washington you get a 1 star.

The worst airport I have been. Poorly organized space, and flights. Once your flight is delayed, the bad organization will make everything a chaos, and your flight will be delayed further and further because of that!

Just before going through the security check point in Terminal B, I walked through this shop. Thank goodness they were here. Realized I had forgotten to pick up a few more
treasures for friends back home. I found just what I wanted here in this store. Many different types of items to choose from. The staff was very helpful and friendly as I shopped.

A great place to purchase "DC themed" and historical items for your last-minute shopping. So glad that it was here!

Really convenient access to D.C. and Bethesda/NIH by subway and taxi.
Specific for Terminal 2, gates B and C:

Efficient TSA service.
Decent food and good choice of shops.
Best airport, compared to BWI / IAD.

After so many years why is it that TSA cannot yet efficienctly process travelers through security. The security line for Terminal B is outrageous. Granted it is 5 pm but it isn t a busy travel day, they literally only have one screening line open and the line of people waiting has now grown to over 90 minutes. The lack of efficiency is appalling.....

Even though the nearby Dulles airport is bigger, this one's definitely better.
First off, it has this amazing interior. Its golden-yellow, canopied hallways are unique and pretty terrific.
Second, it's not too big - so you don't have to walk miles to get to your gate. It's still serviced by most airlines and you can go most places from here.
Third, it's on the Virginia side of DC. So if you're in Virginia or south, this is for you.
Three major drawbacks: 1) It doesn't do many international flights. 2) Secondly, hardly place to go and eat. Can get pretty tricky if you're hungry. 3) Hardly any public transport access - Bad, DC, bad!

We were torn between flying into Dulles or Reagan for a recent trip to DC and ended up going with RR due to a significantly cheaper flight through Southwest Airlines. We were expecting things to be crowded given the location but everything was great. Easy access to the rental car area, excellent staff who helped my wife to collect our bags as I collected the car, and fast moving security lanes. The only issue was a lack of space for drop off and pick up. Incredible views of DC during landing and takeoff, so be sure to get window seats!

It's been awhile but got back to Washington dc. And Washington national airport is now Ronald Reagan national airport. Just next to the Potomac. Also keep your eyes open as when you are leaving the airport you can see the capital and Washington monuments just outside the airport. Have a great dc trip. Be well vacationsensei

I remain absolutely stunned that the Washington Airport Authority would have the audacity to name an airport after a man who hated gay people. He is single-handedly responsible for the AIDS crisis. He was more than happy to ignore gay people and their plight, and was even quoted as saying if it killed them all then so what. I do not know how we allow that. As long as the airport Bears the name of someone who is so filled with hate, then it is a bad place

Flying out on a Monday afternoon. The TSA check line is RIDICULOUSLY SLOW. an airport of such central importance and you have ONE station to go through your bag if it was picked out by the x-ray technician. While 4 other TSA agent just standing around chatting. People are almost missing their flight because the only agent is slow to the point of passive aggressiveness. At one point he walked around for 10min just holding someone's bag and looking for the owner. And guess what they flagged, oh a metal award coin, some coffee beans. All the while people are just congregating at the end of the line waiting for their bags. And the point of all this is Safety??? If the TSA agent can't effectively control crowds and identify common objects, what even are they there for? This certainly bodes well for this great country. The Capitol is such example of excellence.

I prefer Reagan over Dulles any day. Easier and much shorter on the commute, easier to get around, and more organized. Plus, the Metro is already here! I allow a 2 hour period of security and all else but half of my trips are with no line. The early afternoon and first flight of the day are busiest in my experience. Otherwise, Southwest is the best option and I hope you enjoy your trip!

I always travel Southwest and this is by far the worst airport for Southwest. The employees are rude and unprofessional. They could all benefit from some customer service classes. Their baggage claim belt system and staff are terrible. It's as if they're always confused as to which belt your luggage will arrive on. You have to stand between both belts waiting to see which one will have your luggage. It always seems so congested due to construction both inside and outside the terminal.

The airport looked like it is very small or maybe it is really small. There are places to charge stuff just as you enter but most of the wall plugs was next to or behind a trash can. The staff was very helpful. We have to take the boarding pass and go to the down floor. The gate name had only numbers which made me think this is a small airport

I fly in and out of Reagan 1-2 times per month. American Airlines flights are horrible. I don't like waiting in a crowded terminal and being piled into an over-crowded bus in order to get to the plane. The airport is undergoing construction which I hope fixes this.

Do not use Advantage, Dollar, or Thrifty (all located at same rental location). I have not tried Enterprise.

However, the airport is in a great location - not very far from DC, old town Alexandria, etc.
