One of our largest employers here in Westminster, MD is the Penguin Random House warehouse. Over 400 people work in it's two buildings to sort and distribute books for the company.

They have chosen to remain open during this pandemic and have taken very few additional precautions to protect the employees who work very closely together in an enclosed environment.

They issued letters yesterday, to every employee, for them to show law enforcement that they are essential and must be allowed to work.

This publisher / distributer is risking their lives, the lives of their families, and everyone they come into contact with in our town.

The employees are scared to work, but also to stay out of work due to possible repercussions and the use of all of their allotted time off.

Their families are scared and angry over this financially driven corporate decision.

We, as a community, do not support this and strongly urge everyone in the book world not to support this company or to follow the example they have set in our home town.

Random house is leaving $$billions$$ on the table due to the Audible android app limiting books displayed by author to 50.

My own sales data shows a 400% difference in book royalties between the 50 books displayed in app and the other books I have that don't display due to the server and app limits.

Search Stephen King or Danielle Steel. Wouldn't they be interested to know their readers can only binge read 50 of their titles in app.

This is not a talent agency, no matter what Google Maps tells you. They're a publisher. These are their offices. What to review? Very nice people work here. Their offices are piled high with books. Write a book and see for yourself.

In my dealings with the publishing part of PRH, I have found them to be without ethics or morals. Perfect example: I asked for some paperwork, that would be proof of their claims, to be sent to me. Not random, but specific paperwork. They never did. When I filed a BBB complaint, they neither acknowledged nor answered the complaint, per the BBB. They simply totally ignored the existence of the complaint. That, to me. is a lack of ethics and morals. And it most certainly meets the definition of such.

I love Penguin Random House so much. I bought a few titles from their website and one was backordered; when it shipped, UPS delivered it to the wrong address (and the wrong town, for that matter). UPS told me that because it had left their hands there was nothing I could do, that PRH would have to file a claim, get reimbursed by UPS, and then reissue an order to replace the one that was lost. It sounded like a headache.

Enter Holly at Penguin Random House. She made the process SO easy (and even managed to replicate the coupon code I used) and reissued my order while I waited on hold. I've dealt with PRH a number of times over the years, and it's always a positive experience. Now, let's just hope UPS gets the town right this time. ;-)

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEIR WEBSITE. Immediately after I ordered (order total $26.80, per purchase order), three charges were made to my credit card: 1) A charge for $28.00, 2) Another charge for $1.09, and 3) A fraudulent charge for $144.97. I am seriously concerned about the security of any payment information ordered on the Penguin website, and will never order there again. In addition, they were initially sending the order to an incorrect address, until I intervened by sending an email to customer service. Horrible customer-facing experience. Do not recommend.

I had a month and half delay for a book without any notification and their customer service was the worst experience ever. I ordered 2 books in June 4, never arrived, no emails about delays so i emailed after 2 weeks, they said the book is in stock but the book came in after a month. They even overcharged it and there was no apologize when I asked about the delay, and different price to confirmation email. Do not recommend. Wish i could give 0 stars.

WORST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. EVER.

WORST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. EVER.

They sent a tracking email 6 days after I received the book LOL. Is that a joke? Also took me 2 months to get the book I've ordered and there were no apologies, no email about delay..
