Planning your time is important as rides aren't always open if its recently been raining or the wind is to high. There aren't many healthy food options if you are buying food there. So much fun though.

Good for all the family and friends, they have rides available for ages 3-7 in the little kingdom or if they want to go to the bigger rides have to be accompanied by an adult or caregiver. Other than that anyone can go on most rides unaccompanied if they me the height requirements although some do have age restrictions. They have an indoor gaming centre if your not too outdoorsy. They have food and drinks available as well as sweet snacks and a little souvenir shop on your way out. The rides do offer photos that are taken while you are on them. Lastly they need to put a warning or something at the entrance when windy as they do close the bigger rides because of weather, hence the reason for the 4 stars.

Compared to the U.S.A....bland...I am a massive chicken though. The log flume is my limit.

Clean. This you cant underestimate.

Limited in comparison to "other actractions". Some investment, forward thinking and a name change could potnetially make this a tourist destination. Is this really the end?

Rainbows End, still the biggest rip off ever.

Rainbows End, still the biggest rip off ever.
When I purchased tickets online this morning there were no weather warnings displayed on the website however, my teens advised that most of the fun rides; roller coaster, stratosphere etc were shut today because of the weather???
Why dont you compensate your customers when you close half the park?!
We will be spending our money travelling out of town to enjoy Splashplanet which offers far better value and a superior family experience at their park

Rainbows end was so much fun. My only complaint is that the rides are run on a timetable now and you have to wait to go on a ride and some rides you miss out on because of the stupid thing. If they got rid of the timetable and went back to going on a ride whenever you want it would be 5 stars

Lots of fun for the family but very long wait times. Get in early to avoid the long lines. Toilets were pretty disgusting when we visited and grounds needed a clean. Pricing is a bit expensive compared to other places but you can't replace the smiles on your kids faces after visiting this place.

Badly under staffed in the school holidays. Waiting in line for 1 hour to get an ice cream is ridiculous. Don't be cheap rainbows end. Employ more staff in the school holidays and improve your service.

Had a fun day. Unfortunately we hit a day with all of the end of year school groups so there was a lot of kids arround without that much supervision. Also made the queues long still not as bad as some international parks but abit longer than what I'm happy with.

Bad timing I guess, not all the parks fault.

Some places felt a little run down but the price is also not too extreme compared to other fun parks around the world.

Sadly, but we think fairly, it is hard to go much above 1 star based on our day out here. We chatted on our way home about the rating and our experience and this was our thinking...

If a 5 star experience is maybe Disneyland, or Alton Towers, then we have to take off 1 star for just not having that many rides. No-fault of the park (NZ is a small market and it wouldn't make sense to spend that much on larger rides) and would only drop them to a 4 star experience. The queues were short (we went on a school day) and no more than 15mins so that was good, so would easily be 4 stars if not for the below...

We took off 1 star for customer service/staff attitude. All of the ride attendants (except the log flume guy) were miserable as fudge. Nit a smile among them, shambling from ride to ride, heads hung down, they looked like they'd rather be anywhere but there. I don't know if it's a nice place to work or not, but c'mon guys. This is a fun park, you need to be bright and bubbly for your customers. At the very least smiling, some hellos and goodbyes, a bit of banter about the thrills even! Good ride attendants are part-entertainer and these girls and guys are about as entertaining as COVID.

We then had to take another 1.5 stars off for one particular experience. We were riding the Scorpion Carts and my girlfriend (who doesn't drive or have a driving licence) crashed. She made a mistake and cut across me but she didn't know I was beside her and didn't do it deliberately. No bumping, no reckless driving, just an accident you can see everyday on Auckland's roads. I saw her face and she was mortified and embarrassed as she spun around facing back up the track. I continued around, expecting to see her turned around by the attendant and ready to continue by the time I got to her. What I didn't expect to see, what no one expects to see in a fun park, is a young woman on the verge of tears. The attendant had shouted at her about her 'dangerous' driving and told her she had to stop her session straight away. This was after maybe 4 or 5 laps of about 12 that the rest of the guys got. I pulled off the next lap too and we got out of there - I left a few parting words for The Grumpus and how accidents happen and are no ones fault. Once we got away from the lady in charge my girlfriend broke down in tears and despite comforting and doing a few more rides before we left, the day was ruined. Her experience of Rainbows End will always be negative, and when I asked if we should go again she is adamant that she never wants to go back.

We dropped another half star for some rubbish and bad smells in the toilets so 1 star was left.

As I said, they would be 4 stars with better staff and our experience was probably uniquely marred by the bullying of my girlfriend on the carts, but sadly it was our experience and we wanted to share it with others

Great fun if you can find cheap tickets and a quiet day.

Best to go in small groups or groups that don't mind being split up, as many of the rides have space for one or two more when they are loaded but many don't want their group to split up, if you are a one or a two in the line then you are able to jump ahead.

The food is what you would expect from a theme park, cheap quality at expense costs. You are unable to bring your own drinks so you are limited to the provided fountains or buying your beverage.

The rides themselves are all quite unique and every single one is worth trying. Some are more extremely than other (the most extreme in my opinion being the fear fall and the stratosphere) somehow ever in some cases are or are not worth their wait time so choose wisely.

Best to do as a one off and try to get as many rides in as possible as the cost and wait times for entry are not worth making it a multi part trip. However is a good visit when you get the chance.

(please leave a like on this review if it was helpful, would help a lot, thanks)

Wow, the biggest adventure park in Auckland, but also the most rediculously expensive place too.

We'd been looking forward to going as a family for nearly 10 years and, while the individual rides were enjoyable, it became increasingly obvious that the whole park is geared to making it almost impossible to get to even the majority of the rides as a result of hour-long queues.

A theme park that never seems to amaze. Constantly evolving. Do not hesitate to go as you will no doubt enjoy your day. And if u have been back for some.yeats I would advise to check it out.

We had a fabulous day at Rainbows end on Friday the 14th December.
I wanted to let you know the staff were all so friendly and accommodating.
I had my daughter and her two friends who all have Special needs , Not once did they feel they were treated any different. I was very impressed with the professionalism by all that day.
Thank you for making our day even more special.
we will definitely be back!

Not the worlds best theme park, and quite pricey considering most of the rides are quite tame. Only one rollercoaster. Many rides need maintenance. Staff are friendly and lots of food options.

It was much better than we expected. They have good rides for most ages and the kids enjoyed the day out. It will take a good hit on your pocket for a family of 4 including the food. Make sure that you have at least one paying adult as most rides need a paying adult with the younger kids.

Great way to spend the day with the kids, lots of fun. The shaded kids area is awesome. Having said that, heaps of little things that can and should be done better:
- More employees to help deal with customers' behaviour while queueing up for the rides.
- Definitely needs more toilets
- Needs more icecream kiosks. The only one there is super crammed and has long queues
- Needs better food staff hygiene. What's the point of wearing gloves if you handle money and food without ever taking them off?

This place needs to change or close. Everything is still from the '80, rides are rusty and dirty and really old. Long queues even when the park is not busy.
Just one thing is up to date: entrance fee, 55 dollars!!! Crazy
