Nice park, pretty clean. Rides are good but the parking lot is usually pretty full
My family has never been til today we were lucky and found tickets for cheaper than the website cost or else an average family size of six on an average income would struggle affording it. Very pricey but enjoyed our time and all the attractions :) hope to visit next season
The water park could be way better. The lines are extremely inefficiently managed. I was in line for over an hour and got burnt because of it. If they would have doubled the amount of tubes on the waterslides, the line could have moved twice as fast. Considering the safety aspect of it, there was always an abundant amount of time between the riders. Way too much time. People these days are just way too afraid of getting sued that they over safety everything. This is one of those cases. Loosen up the reigns, management!
We also had an infant with us and we were not able to bring in the shade protection for the baby; (3'x3'). Their reasoning we were told was that if the wind blew it away and hit another customer, that the "we" would have problems. Get real! What's more important, a baby not getting sunburnt or someone getting bumped with an umbrella?
I chose not to give it one star because I don't always like to see the bad things in what's supposed to be a good time. I did have a good time however the management needs to change their position on what a good time is.
Nice place to take your family for the day we had a lot of fun
Great park, lots to do for the kids and seating. They get very crowded and food stands become unbearable. The lifeguards are very attentive.
The wait times for food are longer than for the slides, but you can't bring in your own food.
I was very upset, this was my first time visiting and I drove over an hour to get there. Upon arrival I found out that a handful of water slides were closed, as well as the LAZY RIVER!!! The best part of any water park, and to top it off, we had two restaurants to choose from to eat because the rest of them were also... CLOSED. I know it's late in the summer (we visited on 8/16) but wow that's just unnecessary. I believe summer goes till at least labor day. When I asked why everything was closed I was informed that there wasn't enough staff since the kids went back to college. Something tells me this isn't the first time this has happened. Wouldn't you plan accordingly?! I feel that for the amount of money I paid I really got ripped off not being able to experience the whole park. It's just sad because I was really excited to go since they advertise it as Illinois largest water park.
Not as big as we thought. Platypus and couple of other slides we fun.
Nice place, clean and easy access to the rites recommended for the whole family
It's so crowded! It's also really fun! Lots to do! Different spots to hang out. I'd bring food in a cooler tho, the lines get ridiculous and there are not a lot of spots to eat.
MAJOR ISSUE with food service and overall staffing levels. The general manager (Jeff Hansen) noted he was not properly staffed on August 20th when I took my family there for the day but was not managing the amount of people he had in the park. I understand that a large portion of his staff goes back to college at this time of the year, but then the business model needs to be adjusted for that time period. You can't charge and offer the same amenities when you are knowingly staffed different. There are many solutions to this problem, but the reason I had an issue was that Mr. Hansen was ok with it being a problem. This is not good for the staff or the facilities patrons.
Fun slides, great employees always smiling and having fun with the customers.
What an awesome water park! There is so much to do. Great rides and not horribly long waits. (But we were there on a Monday, so that may have played a part.) The grounds are clean and well maintained the the staff is SO friendly. I have to say that the very friendly staff really stood out. Every ride worker made sure to greet us. The people working there really looked like they enjoyed what they were doing. My only criticism would be the lack of hooks, shelves, and soap in the shower area (both men's and women's). It's very difficult to shower there without dumping your items onto the wet floor. (Can't imagine doing that well with small kids.) Otherwise, Raging Waves is a fantastic place to spend a hot summer day with your family.
Family friendly and great for our little ones. Can wait until the new water slide.
Would give a 5 star to the the amazing water park. But unfortunately their service for food is very slow like noone cares about us (as customers) waited about 90 mins in line at the croc just to order. Then I order food for family they charged me for a souvenir cup, then say just realized we are completely out. Rudely told me I would be refunded back to my card 24-72 hours and denied me a receipt when I asked. Other then that very clean and fun.
Found a great deal on groupon and we weren t let down. First time going and this park is soo big! Lines moved fairly quick on the Tuesday that we were there. Great place to take the family!
The kids and I loved it, wasn't too fond of the food funnel cake was good
The park was nice & clean, not overly crowded, reminders to social distance were present & stated. The only drawback were the bathrooms, they smelled & the doors didn't lock.
Crowded but it is summer and HOT so that is too be expected if it wasn't busy I would worry. Wave pool and the lazy river are a great place to relax and cool down
Waited over 2 hours for food done through the online service. Figured out my food was just sitting there and hadn't been delivered to us. Wasn't able to get a refund or discount for $70 worth of food. They simply gave me a bucket of fries for my trouble. Manager blamed it on COVID-19 and new staff. Many others were also being forced to wait long wait times. Please dont say no food allowed if you're not going to be able to feed all of your hungry customers on time. I would've been fine with bringing a sandwich and some chips, but they just want to make even more money off of us than they already have.
Great place for families and great rides for thrill seekers.
The lines were long and of course waiting for the tubes took even longer. Its a water park, i get it. The biggest issue i had was with the lifeguards. Multiple lifeguards yelled at groups of people multiple different times for not standing behind the yellow line on the stairs to wait for a tube. Most people had no clue that is what you were suppose to do! And there was no sign telling you to do it! They could have politely asked everyone to move back but instead they were yelling at us. Finally a group of people let her know how rude she was to everyone and she said no i am not and he told her we didnt know thats what we were suppose to do! The lifeguards were more concerned about whether or not people had a green band for the blue tubes and yelling at you than anything else. It kind of put a damper on the fun time with my kids. I understand they may have to put up with rude people but they shouldnt treat everyone like that. Sad part is it was mainly the female lifeguards that were rude! At the end of the platypus one time i was trying to get out of the tube and the lifeguard just continuously kept screaming at me. Maybe instead of screaming at me to get out she could have walked a foot and helped me, instead my daughter helped me while saying to me, she is yelling at you mom. Knowing that this lifeguard determined when the next person went down the slide. It would have took 1 minute of her time to help. If i would have been a smaller kid would she have helped or would she have screamed at the kid like she did me? That to me is just pathetically sad. The lifeguards need a serious pep talk and maybe tell them not to treat people like garbage as well.
This season they have a clear bag policy so make sure you have one...they will provide you with a small one if you don't have one. So make sure you rent a locker to keep your valuables like ID and credit card they require you to bring to verify your purchase. Which is all ridiculous but my kids have been so bored I will do and follow the rules just so they can have a good day.
This place is amazing we couldnt ask for a better day with our familys, place was clean and the atmosphere was delightful, we go every year and will continue to go as long as they are open.thanx for a great day .
Went there 2 weeks ago. 1st off FALSE ADVERTISEMENT... only like 3 attractions open.. no wave pool they claim its cuz of covid .. but it was so packed in that pool. No lazy river most of the attractions closed. But have the nerve to charge $35 just to play in a packed pool .. it was more then the recommended amount of people in the pool .. people were elbo to elbo..
Horrible.. I went to Wisconsin all attractions open.. they should cut tickets in half or atleast mention that only pool and maybe 2 adult attractions are open.. I really want my money back smh
Great place for family fun and a relaxing moment away from the city life!!!
Paid full price for a cabana during known shortened hours. Ridiculous response from manager Jeff. Spend your money elsewhere.
The best waterpark to go to an hour from Chicago. The lazy river is one of the best and longest I have ever been on + The Boomerang still being my personal favorite and classic slide.
Family friendly, plenty of life guards and a relaxed atmosphere
Fantastic customer service! We were treated very well and had a BLAST on the slides! Also, food prices are very reasonable and you must get a soft serve ice cream cone!!! Huge, cheap, and delicious.
It was amazing but the wave pool wasn't
The best
This was a great day trip for the kids. Was unfortunate they made us get out of the water due to wind with only an hour and a half left til close so we were only able to ride one slide each and use the wave pool which was super crowded but expected for a Saturday. Lines were starting to clear up about 430 but as we were going to the next slide they called us out because they thought a storm was coming in. No lightning just cloudy with a strong breeze. Kids said theyd go back, I think next time it'll be during the week.
The whole family had fun. Nice clean family fun close to home. Great cabana options and reasonably priced.
Long Lazy River that you could walk or swim with out a float. Clean park. Nice employees. Good selection of food.
Awesone, fun and huge park, with great slides and awesome lazy river, very clean and big enough, we went on Father's day and it was busy but didn't feel as crowded since it's a huge place. Nice waterpark for the whole family! Loved it!
Expensive but clean, lines not too long. Overall nice visit
Great place but could have done better with covid restrictions
Always very busy, but the employees are great and the price is perfect for a waterpark.
Too full, long waits on the rides, too much wait for food, takes a lot of time to pick up a raft too and parking very far too
Water straight from the polar ice caps! Really, how do they get it so cold?
Was very busy. But a great place for the family. Price was reasonable with the help of Groupon. Will definitely be returning.
A fun time for the whole family...clean, diverse and nice attractions.
We had fun here aswell unfortunately the main reason we wanted to go to the lazy river but it was closed
We've been meaning to come over since beginning of summer, today's the day lol! I've read the reviews and that didn't stop us from coming.
We got our ticket from groupon, for fam of 3 it was $84.00. The preferred parking location was full when we got there at around 1pm. Getting in was fast, i have bottled waters that are closed and it was allowed. I saw a lady with bottles that are open and she was asked to either throw it or finish the water.
We thought coming later in the day would mean a lot of people are heading out already. All cabanas are full, there are no empty chairs in sight! So husband and I decided, he will watch the bags and see if he find people leaving and grab their spot. My daughter and I went on to lazy river. Water was cold, the lazy river is bit crowded but we were moving. Plus my daughter keeps saying its he best day ever so I dont mind the crowd! We didnt do any rides, we just stayed in the 2 kiddie pools close to the entrance. After waiting for I think 40 to 45 minutes (the only reason why I gave them 4 stars), my husband found 3 empty chairs close to the lazy river were my daughter and i are playing. We got ice cream, popcorn and drinks. I would suggest to get the souvenir cup, we paid $12 for it and refill cost just $0.99. Looking around all the slides has long line, around 3pm people started going home. Our game plan next time will be, we get there at 3pm and we can get those cheap cabanas (cost $75 according to their website).
On our way out, a lady (re-entry location of the gate) carrying 2 souvenir cups with soda in it wasn't allowed to get in. So they are pretty strict with drinks, probably making sure people are not bringing alcohol in.
We are not disappointed even though we didnt do any slides. we'd love to come back before summer ends!
Were early and still longest line. Their system to let in people does not make sense. Hottest day of summer was not a good choice to decide to go.
Raging Waves was a fun event. I got a cheaper price ticket off Groupon but my sister got her cheaper tickets from Costco. Normally prices are a bit high but compared to 12 plus bucks for a movie and concessions that only last two hours, this was worth it.
I had tried to go before but weather shut the park down. They normally let you know at 9 am on their website, if they will be open. They normally open at 10 am to 7 pm so you have a length of time to hang out.
They had several rides that were a blast. I particularly liked the Cyclone (it flushes you like a toilet, around the bowl down the pipes). The wave pool was nice but crowded. The wave last about a minute and a half but has a huge wait time in between waves, which was lame in my opinion. The lazy river also gets crowded, but unlike other parks, you don't have to be in an inner tube.
Most other places make you as they have deeper lazy rivers. This one was at 2 feet, so sitting down, my head was out of water and I'm 5 ft tall and 4 in standing. Be careful, as its so shallow scraps and cuts from the floor are possible.
They do have typical food to by but I'm a bargin girl so I packed a picnic and left it in my trunk then came out about half day in the normal non preferred parking and sat underneath the shaded trees as I ate with friends.
Their sitting areas do have some shade but most of them are very packed so if you have a larger family you're not going to find seating together so this is a great alternative and a cheaper one.
They do have a lot of rules on what you can bring in and can't, so check their website. I was able to bring in a Dasani water bottle that was not opened previously for a drink but they don't allow food inside. there was also someone in front of me waiting to get in and they had a larger family so They carried some of their towels and supplies inside a rollaway backpack and they were not allowed to bring that backpack in because it was a rollaway.
They do have a kids area as well. I grew up in California for places like sunsplash in Roseville feel more up my alley but despite some of my negative reviews, over all it's good, clean fun and I would return.
Ok we arrived at the over crowded Raging waves water park after a 1 and half drive on to find out they do not accept credit card for parking. My niece had the King size Cabanas which came with complinentary snacks & water only. No towels, no Food all for the utimate price of 250.00. Go figure yes gotta pay for everything just like Great America but Great America is much more organized
Went to the waterpark over the weekend and yes there were some rides shut down. Still had a terrific time water slides were top notch. The staff was clearly working hard to keep everything clean and moving smoothly. Were in some tough times right now, I understand rides being shut down. I recommend Raging waves for a great time.
Great, Clean, Huge water park with enough to keep busy all day,... Only downside lines can get long but everyone had freay time Well worth it!!!
Severely overpriced and in the middle of nowhere. The rides can be fun if no one is there, but generally it's overpopulated, the lines are long and the food is expensive. I'd recommend Hurricane Harbor, rather than this waterpark
Standard water park. Frustrating that they took out the only regular pool for those who don't want to go on does.
My friend and I went here last year! Lots of fun! Make sure to come here soon as it opens or there will be lines
It was fun but like all waterparks, a little busy and it makes it hard to get on all the rides and things. Being as busy as it is, I'm not sure it's really worth the price but I had a good day and at least food isn't priced outrageously.
