Raging Waves Waterpark Review

In my oponium it lacks more diversity for children.

It's a very nice place for children very clean,
The people that work here are very pleasant. The food is good also the Price Is Right.
Getting the tickets on Groupon helped a lot for a family of 6.

Clean, very well run!! The staff was friendly and courteous. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Wonderful place to take kids! So many different slides for little ones under 48 inches!

Love Raging Waves water park I also Love the LAZY POOL I can be in there all day.

Very fun and exciting , long lines though bit we got there early so it wasn't that bad. Recommend going with a group of 4 and getting there early.

There were a great amount of rides available from baby to adult. Friendly and informative staff. Great pleasure visiting here and will be back again

Our family of 2 adults and 2 toddlers had an unexpectedly great time! We were celebrating a friend's birthday on the weekend before July 4. It was 96 degrees and sunny. Although the place was packed, all the kids areas contained a good mix

Super busy on weekends, long lines to every single game; and be aready to spend over an hour to get your food... and or course you cannot bring your own food, only thing allowed will be water

All i can say is its clean..... Very clean! Great family place! Worth the drive!

Packed in the middle of the week. Not a whole lot of bang for your buck, employees seem disengaged and food staff could not be less interested in helping you get your food in a timely fashion.. but you know, waterslides

First time. Rode on of the larger tube runs. I'm age 67 and had a blast!

Lots of fun! It's cheaper than six-flags, but if you are just looking for a water park then this one is worth it. the 1/4 mile long lazy river is awesome. They don't make you get out after each lap like some other places. The lines can be a bit slow for the rides, but if you have little kids then the they'll have a blast in their own designated area.

Had an okay time, I've seen better. Lazy River had some good distance. Don't rent a tube, it's not necessary.

My husband and I visited the park on a cloudy weekday! The maximum waiting time for a ride was about 15 minutes. They have signs before the entrance of every slide which explains if you need tubes or not and even more specific- WHAT TUBES YOU CAN USE. We didn't need rent tubes due to the park not being packed, but I'm sure if it were to be a busy day we would have rented. We also paid $15 for a locker to put our belongings in that had unlimited access- COMPLETELY WORTH IT. Overall, we had a great time and will be planning another day here.

Too much waiting to get in and very expensive everything to eat there

There were tons of things to do for people of all ages! The life guards were amazing -- they were very diligent at every attraction from the wave pool to the big slides and everywhere in between. They handled the toddlers with patience and kindness. Even the littlest kids realized they needed to wait for a high five before sliding down the slides. They even kept the squirrelly toddlers from cutting in line. The park was clean even though it was very crowded (we visited on a Saturday). My only concern was the wave pool. It's the strongest wave pool I have ever been in and swimmers and people in tubes were practically on top of each other. When the waves started people were sent crashing into and on top of each other. I held tight in to my 7 year old fearing that he would be thrown from his tube and not be able to resurface because the wave pool was so packed and chaotic. Our fellow swimmers actually helped push us toward shallower water when they could tell we had had enough. If there is a way to limit the number of people in the wave pool that may help make it safer. Overall it was a great afternoon at Illinois' largest waterpark : )

it is a fun experance,but it could use more water slides so the wait would be bearable and should have a bigger wave pool

Wonderful last month I went with my family and we have a great time. It was my first time going and loved it.

Great family place for all ages! Large parking lot. No outside food allowed. They do have small lockers for $10.00, Large ones for $15.00. Plenty of seating!

We went on opening day. The lines moved very fast, was not much waiting. Good place to bring a picnic lunch.

Good value for money, especially with Costco tickets. Lines are longer than normal and there could have been more tubes for few of the rides

Very good park but the 'q' for food took way too long

I went super earley for my friends son bday bash it was so much fun i highly recommend earley arrival parking is a little nuts but worth it

Nice family owned park that still caters to families! Great selection of slides and a state-of-the-art wave Pool.

My niece and nephews had a blast!!! Friends and their kids joined us in the cabana. Service was great! Cabana rental was perfect because of the smaller kids. Can t wait to go again in 2019!

Pricey but there is so much to do so I think it's worth it as long as you plan to spend your whole day there! I love the seperate kid area. Lifeguards are very attentive and staff are always walking around seeing if anyone needs anything. When we went it wasn't a super hot day so we didn't have to wait in line long to ride anything. I heard people say it gets packed and you wait in line for an hour but that wasn't our experience

Yeah it was pretty dope. I went with my homies and I got some blisters and had some fun. Only 4 stars because there was no beer tent. Fun for the family, not for the dad.

My kids had a lot of fun even though some of the attractions were closed. I recommend booking a cabana or getting there very early to find seating under a shade. Food can be expensive but it did taste good. You are also allowed to re-enter and have food packed in your car.

It was okay . Long lines for the rides but I guess that's to be expected on a hot day. Long lines for food though which was not expected. Waited 20 minutes for some microwaved pizza. Some of the patron's are at fault . How can you wait in line 20 mins yet not know what you want when you get to the window? Still they have to expand serving stations or something. Parking was easy , location was easy , staff were friendly.

Long lines, even bought my tickets online and still had to wait in a long line. The food court has 6 windows and only 3 open that took 30/40 minutes alone. They left the bathroom door locked up open so everyone could stand and watch you use the facility. Mind you one toilet and urinal in the bathroom. Horribly long lines on the slides total mismanagement of how to run them productively. The lifeguard manager lady was more worried about if a person was standing on the other side of the rope out of peoples way looking for a kid that got separated in the river.... no big deal I'll just stand out of the way and wait out of peoples way tried to explain the situation and would not talk about it till I went back on the other side of the rope because that is what was important at the time.
Not worth the time or money

Everything was top notch! (Except the food - very reasonably priced, but only so-so burgers, pizza, hotdogs, etc.) Great staff, very clean facilities, a fun day for the family!

Fun way to spend a full day. Can get deal on groupon for $26 during summer or $15 not on their busy days. If it rains you get another ticket for another day for free. Actually worth the money of you spend full day here even at full price. The ride attendants tend to do opposite of what you tell them. If for example you say you dont want your back towards slide they will say ok but twist tube to scare you...guess it makes the ride more memorable. You can finish all rides in 1 day.

It's a popular place, but very expensive for 4 of a family. No foods or beverage outside are allowed inside. The concessions are expensive to buy a drink or food to eat. But my kids loved it going on rides. Very cool and nice place.

I like this waterpark. Staff does a great job. My only suggestion is if kids and teens are going to be in the lazy river, they HAVE to have a tube and they NEED to float and be lazy. There is a spot for swimming and plenty of slides. There is no reason anyone should be in a LAZY river unless they want to just relax and float.

Best water park I've ever been too. Space wise it's huge and so clean, organized and we'll maintained!! The lazy river is long and great! We purchased a family pack online and it was well worth it. Loved the fact that hot dogs were the kosher kind. Lots of different stands of food all over the place.

I traveled from Texas to spend time with my brothers who live here in Sugar Grove, IL. I was very pleased with my experience and the rides were awesome! One of my brothers got motion sickness on one of the rides and the assistant manager at the entrance made sure to ask if he was okay and informed us where the first aid was located. I will definitely go here again!

Got the season passes on sale for 60$ and had an amazing time! Wave pools! Huge water slides! My only issue was my fear of heights while climbing the stairs to the top of the slide.

It's a very great water park! It is Illinois 's largest water park too! You can bring your friends & family to enjoy your day! It's really fun! They got great rides!! However, my father got hurt in one of 'em! Food's great! Don't forget to apply sun lotion on your body thoroughly! Visit atleast once & u will go there again!

We agree that 1 star is to much for this place. We drove 2 hours to get there at opening and secure cabana rentals. After arriving, we were told they updated their hours at 9am (1 hour before opening) and delayed there opening until noon due to cold weather. It is 74 degrees out!!!!! Lady at front reception was very rude stating in front of four kids that "well its cold so I don't know why you'd want to be here" Completely ridiculous, sittimg in car with 4 kids that now have to wait 2 hours until we can get in. They also stated they might not open some of the slides/rides. Avoid this place. Lots of very angry families just sitting in parking lot.

A nice way to spend the summer day with family or friends.

If I could give negative points I would do it, I always wanted to go to raging waves for the past 10 years, finally last summer I took my family and what happen after was a nighmare, my 3 year old caught an fongus on her toe nails and hands she lost every single one of her nails, all 20 of them! it was terrifing. Summer is starting now and my kids wants to go to a waterpark, I am terrified to go now thanks to this waterpark. A lot of people go to this place and most probably don't clean the water very often. It s disgusting. I called the place to talk to a manager I was told I was going to receive a call back and it never happened. Just Be careful to everyone who goes to this place

This park charges you full price as they have three slides shut down, no lazy river, and no waves in the wave pool. They height restrictions are awful as curtain rides won t allow kids who are over 42 tall to ride with their parents down slides. Horrible food, worst park I ve been too

Some rides are always not open or working here but they offer no discounts for that ever.

I have never seen such attentive lifeguards, not one just sat or worked nonchalantly, each one was actively walking, scanning, and searching. The wave pool had extra lifeguards on duty when the waves were on. We went on a hot day and the lines were long and the place was packed but there were plenty of staff/lifeguards and everyone working was friendly and helpful.

It was a great outing for the family. We choose this over our usual Main Waters trip since Six Flags purchased them (way too expensive now). The lazy River was great (about a 10-12 minute trip around). The sand area was a surprise & we camped out there, under the sun sail. Foods prices are what you'd expect; a little pricey for the quality, but several choices for the family. However, I'd like to see some vegan options. The only complaint for the day was the food lines. Many of them moved really slowly. But overall, a great trip for the day. We'll be back next season.
