I have received the worst customer service at this...

I have received the worst customer service at this Hotel. I stayed at the hotel for New Years Eve because my family was throwing a big party there. I stayed one night and was only supposed to pay $231 to expedia but the hotel charged my card two more times for $187.50. This came out to over $600 dollars. I called to have the mistake taken care of so i would not receive overdraft fees on my bank account. Well it is now Friday and the issue has still not been addressed. I let Expedia call them on Tuesday. I was told they said they credit your account. I called the Hotel to double check and they I was sent to voicemail. I called three more times that day no one could talk to me and all voicemail boxes were now full. I called the next morning and the accounting department answered me said no one called me. I let her know Expedia called her and that I also left her a message the day before. She then said oh I remember I think I gave you credit back let me check. Then she says the computer system is down and she has to call me back or i can just wait 3-5 business days to see if I get the credit. I said please call me back I can't wait that long. I hung up with her at 7:30am but 2pm no one has called me back. I call and now I am told everyone is in trying and cant' come to the phone and they will call me back. Now by then I am really discouraged so I decide to email Hilton Hotels. When I get to there website a chat box popped up and asked if I wanted to chat. I did and let them know my issue. The rep was very sorry and said he would do his best to help. Well when he tries to make my case file all of a sudden his computer system went down and now he has to let me go and someone will contact me with 24 hours. Now I am think this is a total scam! no one can help me and the Hilton is supposed to be a world class hotel. A few moments later I receive an email saying a case was filed for me by the online rep and to allow them 2-3 business days to go over my case. I emailed back saying I can't wait that long and let them know the issue and they said replied back (spelling my name wrong) that they called the hotel but the accounting department was already closed but someone will call you tomorrow to resolve the issue. I have emailed and called back this morning but no help so far. This is day 5 of this nightmare. What a way to start the New Year. I really hope I get my money back.
I will say that the front desk operator Bella has been very nice and understanding of the situation. I wish the rest of the staff was the same.

The DoubleTree is a good choice. It's one of the nicest hotels in the area.

However, the last reservation I booked for visiting relatives, which I booked directly from Hilton's website, included daily breakfast and premium WiFi. However, when we checked in they claimed the reservation did not include those items. (Even though my reservation did say "Essential Extras" which is the name of their package that includes those items). I had to go back home, go on their website to the page that showed the package I purchased, make a printout of the page that explained what "Essential Extras" included, and drive back to the hotel to show them, at which point they acknowledged that I was correct. However, they couldn't fix it in their system, so every morning we had to explain to the breakfast staff that they needed to check with the front desk to confirm that our breakfast was included. I was expecting a better resolution to the problem, especially given the trouble I had to go through to prove to them what I had purchased in the first place.

Hotel is located near restaurants. Cleanliness left something to be desired. Placed the "Do Not Disturb" placard in the card slot as advised and room was still entered/cleaned. Lobby is bright and clean.

Great place for fundraisers ... I do work there so I might be a little bias, but I am also involved in the Chamber of Commerce, Soroptimist, Rotary and few other non-profit organizations that host fundraisers at the DoubleTree

This hotel is clean is about the only positive I can give. The parking lot is half "compact only" so the SUVs all take up two spots, reception area is bland, A/C is loud and manually controlled, no mini fridge in the room, and wifi is, to quote the front desk person, "not the greatest", which is a gross understatement. Had to turn wifi off to use 2-bar LTE instead.

It appears they also block Netflix. After they reset the router, speed tests show 5mb speeds but nothing can be streamed or downloaded from Netflix.

Don't know if it was done on purpose or accidentally but what really did it for me was that I came in to Fallout series game Classic radio station playing. 2 thumbs up!

The location was very elegant and mostly in good condition. The hotel made a mistake with billing the company that made the reservations for myself and the other attendees so we were charged for the stay. The room service was quick, the hamburger was tasty but very juicy, causing the bun to become sodden and falling apart quickly. The room was very nice with a large tv. Cable reception on the HD channels was spotty and distorted often. The bathroom was room and the extension mirror was a nice touch. The tub was very slow to drain and I mentioned it in parting to the reception desk. There was no shuttle service from LAX but there was a shuttle van and when I asked about transportation to a nearby area I was told 24 hr notice was required. Aside from these issues, it was a pleasant stay.

Our stay at the DoubleTree was excellent. Front desk was extremely friendly and efficient. Chek in was a breeze. The room was clean and had all amenities. Room service staff was friendly and food delicious.

During my visit this hotel was under renovation. Should be nice when finished. For context I am a Hilton Diamond member so fairly familiar with all Hilton brand hotels.

My room was fine for the most part. Well appointed and maintained as far as furniture and furnishings are concerned. Plenty of plugs & outlets for cords & chargers which was nice. It does have a safe in the closet and it does have a small refrigerator. However it did not have microwave.

The tub/shower was very clean and nice/new-looking. However there were some HAIRS ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR so the bathroom wasn't entirely clean. One other rather peculiar thing about the bathroom was the height of the countertop. I am 6 ft tall and standing in front of the sink my hands did NOT reach the countertop?? It seemed bizarrely low for some reason causing me to have to reach or bend to grab anything off of the countertop. Not sure the motivation installing a bathroom vanity that low?

I did have to call the front desk as the temperature control in the room simply wouldn't turn on. Flipped all the switches on off auto cool heat didn't make any difference. I called and maintenance came up and replaced a fuse and the situation was resolved quickly.

Of course no breakfast (or in some properties a bag w bottle of water, packaged/processed muffin or yogourt) due to the pandemic. I mean obviously it's only safe to eat food *OUTSIDE* of a hotel????? Not sure when Hilton will figure out how ridiculous their position is on this stance. Of course their rates didn't drop...still charging people the same for breakfast & pocketing the difference. Everybody can eat food safely *outside* of their hotels but they can't inside??

Also the whole "extra-clean" during the pandemic thing Hilton is selling? HAIR on the floor? So does that mean my room wasn't clean before? Not to mention my Hilton hotel stays since the pandemics started have all had less than clean bathrooms.... so much for that.

My experience at the DoubleTree Hilton in Whittier was five stars. the room was very attractive the front desk help was very helpful and the people at the buffet or the nicest I've seen in a long time.

It was one of the nicer hotels in the area for a fair price. It looks mostly new or redecorated with a modern feel. Some of the switches, the bathroom door and the shower floor looked aged with most everything else looking newer. Maybe they just haven't gotten to it yet. The hotel was clean though and I was very comfortable in my stay. They don't have a continental breakfast, but the do have a restaurant and bar in the lobby where I ordered room service for breakfast. I would stay here again.

Great quiet hotel and easy in/out with Hilton Honors app. Parking is a little tight so I would recommend parking garage. And my only other complaint is there is no microwaves in room.

Horrible place, stay at your own risk. Our room had dirty socks and soda in the fridge, the windows are super thin I woke up many times to sirens and people talking outside of the hotel and that's 6 floor high. They only way to avoid this to help me sleep through the night, is turning on the AC, but it means I would be shivering in my sleep. This hotel has $$$$ but feels more like a $ hotel.

The hotel is being renovated due to change of ownership so the pool was closed and the rooms were very outdated. The staff was nice and very professional. The hotel is located on a nice street with plenty of restaurants and shops.

We had booked two nights of wheelchair friendly room with roll in shower. They assigned it to another able body guest. We were told to go in regular room for one night with a promise that they will give us the roll in shower room next day. Reminded them four times just to make sure they don't forget. But sure enough the promised room was not available next night. Being a fully wheelchair bound hemiplegic patient my brother went without shower for two days in hot LA July days.

Breakfast set up did not have cold water option only boiling water. No tea bags for two days in a row. Had to remind them two days in a row. No Tea bags in the room either only coffee. Double tree please check your SOP.

Desk officer was very helpful. Tried his best to accommodate for the room but it was too late.

TV did not work in my room. I didn't try to turn it on until morning. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone to fix it but it was not fixed by check out. Room was on first floor. Building appeared old and smelled musty. Definitely not typical Double tree class.

An amazing hotel!! The staff is very friendly and efficient. They were very welcoming and made sure my friends and I were the #1 priority. Great fitness center. The rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily!!

Pool is being remodeled, but that still did not affect our stay, great hotel! Would definitely comeback!

I can not express how much I loved staying here! We had a 7 night stay and it was honestly the best. Brittney and Dalia at the front desk were extremely helpful and always answered any questions we had very efficiently. Even though this hotel is a little bit of a drive to do anything, I will be staying here in the future because of the friendly staff and their ability to make it feel like I'm at home. The rooms are nice and have everything you need, just ask for a fridge when checking in. Also the cookies received at check in are delicious! Definitely would recommend! Thanks staff at DoubleTree Whittier, we truly appreciate you all.
