Fun place for the kids pretty cheap if you live in racine.
My son and I had a very fun afternoon at the zoo. The only reason we gave it 4 stars is because he says he wishes there were elephants.
Small zoo. Some areas allow for minor interaction with the animals, such as bird feeding and petting goats, etc. My family always enjoys being there. The playground is so much fun! There are plenty of beautiful things to see there.
Great little zoo will be going back when it is warmer
Even with half of the zoo still closed it was well worth three five dollar entrance fee to stretch our legs and see three animals available!
Great zoo. Was there for Lantern Festival. Great display.
Nice, smaller zoo. Good for quick visits or bring a lunch and spend the afternoon. The cafe had surprisingly good food
To see wildlife in a quiet city near Lake Michigan is Beautiful. And to Find Events happening at this place often is great too! Enjoy this place as much as you can just like we the people in Racine / Kenosha do!!
The zoo has definitely went down from how it use to be and the cost has went up. Its not worth paying $8.00. Sorry.
Nice mid sized zoo. Perfect day or afternoon trip with the kids. Loved feeding the parakeets!
Great little zoo on Lake Michigan. Beautiful animals. Happy place.
Its great for a little zoo. But the Australia section seems to be closed alot
I enjoyed the drive through the zoo. The Christmas Lights were beautiful!
Love this little zoo. Easy access. Friendly staff and great programs for the kids.
I have enjoyed our Zoo and watched it change each year getting better for over 50 yrs. That and the Lake hold some of my best memories.
Came here for an evening with family and friends. Had a great time and warmed up with hot chocolate!
Great Zoo to check out with family and friends
It bigger on the inside than expected.
Ok zoo worth the retroprosity discount, medium sized zoo. Kids liked it but there is a good amount of distance between exhibits. Its interesting that they have Andean Bear and Caucasian Tur (goat). But nothing else exotic that stands from other zoos. You can feed giraffes but they are tucked away at the back of the zoo. You can see the lake from the zoo and its a well kept. It would be a nice place to have a picnic.
Sucks that its not free anymore but still way cheaper than Milwaukee
It's a nice zoo. I liked it better before they starting charging admission though. I realize it was probably a necessity, just seems like after they did, they got rid of most of what made the zoo so great, and built a bunch of silly playgrounds and things we dont need. It's a zoo, if my kids want to play, I could go to a park for free .it also seems like there are much less animals than there used to be.
Very nice selection of animals and a lot to see at this beautiful underrated zoo!
This was the worst and saddest zoo I have ever been to! All of these animals looked so sad and they were skin and bones. The orangutan looked like it was crying, the rhino was clearly agitated, and one camel kept rocking back and fourth! I don't know about you but I've never seen a camel rock like that in the wild. I feel so terrible having gone there!
Wonderful place to take young children. Not to much walking and a wide variety of animals.
Love this Zoo! Park like setting, right on lake Michigan!
I love going to zoos. This is a nice zoo but since it was cold, the animals were sheltered. No access to see at least a third of them. Should've been told that when we paid to get in. I would have rated higher if that would have been the case. I felt misled.
Not A lot of animals or very good habitats . the best was the monkeys that was the saving grace that day. Probably never go again:(
Still a great place even with covid rules in place. Pick a cooler day because a mask is required, no building entry but most animals are out, shortened hours, no playground use, the grill is open for concession with limited hours, but you are allowed to bring in food & beverage. The train ride is open & you can always make it a complete day and hit North Beach as well!
Nice zoo. Not massive so a nice place for littles to walk. Enjoy their events as well.
Giving this zoo a 2 stars instead of one star because of the few good animals. A little underwhelming with the selection of exhibits. The lady selling the tickets was rude. The good thing is that overall the zoo is clean.
Nice place. A bit pricey for the small size of the zoo and limited animals
Great little zoo lots of animals so much to look at
Clean small little zoo. Pricing isn't bad for what you get.
Nice variety of animals. Two separate park areas and train available to keep kids entertained. Cute little aviary open during the summer months with option to buy feed sticks for the birds. Giraffe feeding also available for a small fee.
Big Cats containment area seems a bit small.
Although the zoo is small, the compact layout makes it easy to experience the entire zoo in one trip, even with little kids. Prices are extremely fair, making a year membership attainable for many.
But be aware that the only parking available is streets idea city parking. And can become congested during high attendance days.
Nicely sized zoo for the size of the town, great playground for the kids and a lot of fun opportunities to get involved with the animals.
I saw the light show yesterday cant say I was impressed but my family did get free candy at the entrance :)
Great place to take the little kids to get a closer look at animals of all types. I will definitely recommend you to go see the lions and giraffes exhibits.. plus bring bug stray and money for souvenirs too.
What are awesome way to experience the Chinese Lantern exhibit. The Racine Zoo is a gift everyone should have the opportunity to appreciate.
Martini Madness was such a well-done event. Plus the Chinese Lantern Festival is breathtaking.
It was nice but alot of stuff is closed like feeding the giraffes
This is an excellent small zoo. They have great animal encounters in summer time (feeding giraffes and an aviary). They have a small playground for toddlers and a larger one for older kids. They rent strollers for a reasonable price ($5-6, and do have double strollers available). There s a ZooChoo train during summer hours for you to ride if you need a break walking (I believe it s around $3/person). So great to go to ona nice day with my toddler.
If you're going for a smaller zoo, it's definitely worth it and it's got a surprising amount, but it's not comparable to Brookfield or Milwaukee zoos.
Excellent Place to go 4 a summer day to relax and have up close encounters w/some of the animals. The Parrots actually talk too! They said HELLO & MY nickname Coco. How's that 4 a zoo day
One of the nicest, cleanest zoos I have been to. Highly recommend.
Without otters a zoo just can't get 5 stars. But this zoo has come a long way since I was a kid and is a good time.
Not much to see or do. Looking for a boring uninteresting place to go? Go here. Very disappointed.
Cool zoo, got to feed some giraffes. Its a nice little place. The aviary experience was fun unless you are not a fan of Alfred Hitchcocks Birds.
Great for a few hours with the kids. They have a great park to play at, enough animals to keep their attention, yet small enough that you can see everything in a couple hrs. Plus, the Watering Hole serves beer!
Great admission price!! Lots of animals! My son loves to feed the 2 giraffes!!
Besides the admission kid who was kinda snotty we had a wonderful day.
Everything was out and beautiful!
I like racine zoo much better then milwaukee. Free parking, more affordable and smaller so you can see everything in a couple hours instead of a whole day and the kids dont get tired out!
This is a very nice small Zoo. I'd say if this place was a little bigger and had a reptile ,fish, or another exhibit it would def be my favorite . I like that it wasn't overcrowded. Also enjoyed the aviary exhibit. Being close to the birds and being able to feed them with the $3 seed stick was a unique experience for the kids and myself. I love that you can take your own food and eat there with a couple areas where picnic tables are provided. I didn't try the giraffe experience but based off what I saw it looks very informative and fun to do. I would have given this 5 stars but since it's small and one exhibit was down I only have it 4.
Lame. Animals are never out. Too expensive and not a wide variety of wildlife. Best part about this place is the playgrounds
Perfect for a small child. Got thru it all in 2 goes and saw everything. It's clean and well kept
