Just 3 days back into the new "spring" season. Skip appetizers, unless you have a stomach you can unzip! None of us could eat all of our food...but damn, it was delicious! I can't wait to come back.

The drinks are decent price, I loved how cozy the place is. We went there in winter so they had a fire and a band playing. We will definitely return.

I have always heard this place has good seafood. The food was horrible. I brought someone who has not had crab or crawfish. I was very disappointed in how everything tasted. I will never eat seafood here again. I hope for them the people that said their seafood was good never go somewhere where seafood is good. They will be out of business.

Food is fantastic. Great family friendly environment and super nice staff. Expect longer wait times for food during big events. Staff try and make sure you stay as satisfied as possible. Definitely recommend this to anyone who likes good food, music, and fresh air!

Cool place, inside and outside bar, balcony, lots of room, alongside a river. Here today for an all day blues event. Events here every week. Only negative is expensive drinks, if the wind blows the wrong way you get a nose full whiff of a river that smells like raw sewage, and no WiFi available to the public...not that you should be on your phone if you are having a good time

Here now eating dinner with the hubby, son and daughter in law. Nicholas is our waiter. What a great night. Service is awesome.

Overpriced got burger and fries a drink and a strawberry slushy called a daquiri and a small strawberry shortcake and it was 32 and she put another of our parties drinks on my bill. Food was good.

The server Donna waa rud, nasty and racist. She made us feel unwelcome since the first minute. No matter if music was good I will not come back to that place!

We have enjoyed coming to river and listening to music for years, this was our 4th time coming to Proud Mary's the waitress Erika Reynolds was great very attentive and everything was right. I only gave 2 stars because of the smell! seriously if something is not done about the septic I will not return ,It's a shame you cannot enjoy a meal because of the Smell. I will be happy to do my review over if this is taken care of.

Loved the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant

The atmosphere is casual and exciting with live band music filling the air. The dance floor is large, lots of room for moving around. Also, a sandpit for the kids or even us big kids is in the middle so you can keep an eye on them. Huge outside bar and umbrella tables all over, and the restaurant inside is spacious with a nice bar. The food is great, especially the pulled pork. Nothing bad about the place!! Love it!

Love the space. You can kayak to it and they have live music outside. Cool space!

Great BBQ and Cajun food ribs frog legs chicken crayfish etouffee and this particular day they had a Blues Festival going on which was interrupted by rain so we just had to make the best of it

Typically I don't give bad reviews, because I don't like to bash people. So I would never go silent in telling you how AWESOME Proud Mary BBQ is! Located right on the Kentucky River, under Interstate 75, PMBBQ has an awesome multi-level patio, games, a stage for local artists and such great food. If you are traveling Interstate 75, you have to pull off on Clay's Ferry and follow it down the hill to Proud Mary BBQ.

Wow! What a hidden gem! A little off the beaten path, but the juice is worth the squeeze! This BBQ joint has something for everyone. There is an inside fire pit, outside fire pits, small concert stage and dance floor, outdoor bar, indoor bar, and did I mention it is right by the river?! Now the food. This is why you are probably reading this, right? We started off with their beer cheese. Because you have to. It would be against everything that is Kentucky. It was awesome! Just a small amount of kick and served with celery, baby carrots, crackers, and pretzels. Highly recommended. I had the brisket grilled cheese. I know right?! How do you pass on that glorious combination? It did not fail to impress either! The brisket was full of flavor and tender, not chewy. Just the right amount of cheese and grilled veggies. You cant go wrong with that pick. My wife had the brisket plate. The rub on the brisket was amazing! Again, the brisket was cooked to perfection, which is no easy task. The side dishes we had were the French fries, potato salad, and cucumber and tomatoes. They were all stellar examples of their genre. I cant say enough about this place besides just go. It will not disappoint. You can even bring your dog if you eat oitside downstairs. What more can you ask? Oh, wait.......the service was great as well!

OK take a seat this is going to take awhile. My girlfriend and have followed the owner of this place through several different restaurants he's owned. We loved his food and his establishments. When we went here on Mardi Gras they just didn't drop the ball the kicked off the field told me to go get it and leave. We arrived at 5:15 to a place that was no more than half filled. The host asked if we had a reservation. We said no, we tried 3 weeks ago and they were only taking reservations for parties of 10 or more, and to come on in. The host then stated people have been planning for months to come here. She then said it would be most likely over an hour to get seated. I said in a half empty house and a buffet, are you really sure of that? Without hesitation yes was her answer. So we said cool, and we left. On the way out the OWNER yes the OWNER, asked us how the food was. We said don't know they wouldn't seat us. He then said that doesn't seam right. So we stopped for about 30 seconds thinking he would say I'll take care of this. He then went back to looking at what was on the grill he was tending to. So we left. The last time we went there we had a not so great experience as well. Took us forever to get drinks, food was OK, and like this time the customer service sucks. So if you want middle of the road BBQ, OK Cajun food, and be treated like an @$$hole this is your spot. As for me and my friends we won't be making the drive anymore.

Excellent venue. On the Kentucky river. Great seafood, chicken, nice selection of beers. Fantastic staff. And live music, blues, honky tonk, country.

Great place. The most enjoyable evening that I have had in a long time. The waiters were very knowledgeable, friendly and hard working. They checked on us several times with a great attitude. The food was superb, the entertainment, the ambience, the river, watching the duck's and boats all put together made for a very enjoyable evening. First time we have been there, but definitely not the last. Thank you for a fine evening.

Been here several times for music and good and drinks. Fun place with a neat location. Food is typical BBQ with lots to choose from. The bands have been fun and the crowd is diverse and entertaining in its own way.

It's a little off the beaten path but worth the effort of getting there.

So country it's great. Been away from the south too long and Proud Mary's made me feel fight at home.

We love you kayak from Fort Boonesborough State Park to Proud Mary's for dinner. They have tons of seating right on the water. They offer reasonably priced drinks (beer $4, margarita $7) and the staff is friendly. The bbq is okay (nothing special) but the venue and location are what keeps us coming back!
They have live music on weekends and have lots of fun games to play while you're there (corn hole ect). My favorite dish is the brisket grilled cheese.

This is a really nice place. But for first timers which is what I was yesterday item really a mess. We entered at the top inside door. There was a wait for inside tables so we was going to try outside. She sent us way down to the far outside entrance for someone to seat us outside. Only place to sit on the lower section at the time was in the SAND. So I pointed up at the top patio deck and there was seats. She said.. u have to go back to the inside hostess to be seated out there. ... after 15 mins of confusion. We got a seat on the upper outside deck. Ok good. Our server Riley he was Great! I ordered crab cakes and they came out in like 3 mins. They was amazing. I ordered a full rack of ribs for me entree and it looked amazing but it was one of the toughest, slab of ribs iv ever ate. Would not get them again. I got a side of pulled pork which is pulled and them tossed in there house bbq sauce, not my style I wanna put my own bbq on my pork. Like they are trying to hide the flavor of the pork with there bbq sauce. And there sauce is amazing dont get me wrong. I will be back but not getting ribs and I'll have an idea about the seating so you learn from your mistakes I guess

Good food. Alot of the times the service tho is very slow. Not bad, people are very nice...just slow getting drinks, food, refills, etc.

This place has live music, two bars, outdoor seating by the river, great barbecue, fish and shrimp. Service was excellent and friendly. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere is on point. Live music most days during the summer. Best BBQ around. I have been there sometimes close to closing time and felt the food was not as good as it is during prime hours. I always take friends and family here for a nice dinner.

Food was great, atmosphere was awesome, the band was phenomenal.

If I could give this place less than 1 star, i would!! We waited for a 1/2 hour while we watched several parties being seated!! When we were seated, the music was so loud! When we mentioed this to our waiter, he said you can sit inside. THAT'S WHERE WE ASKED TO SIT IN THE FIRST PLACE!! NOT HAPPY! We will never be back!!

Food was terrific...from the fried pickles to the bbq & jambalaya to the strawberry shortcake, it was all great! Service was great too as was the music. Def recommend!

The server we had was awesome, very attentive and polite. Food was great the drinks were good and the band was pleasant (went on a Saturday night) it was loud so if you don't like loud music don't go while the band is there but it is DEFINITELY well worth it. It is kid friendly. On the lower level outside they have a sandbox, a bar, a stage and a dance floor. The brisket is PERFECT! Haven't had brisket anything like that anywhere else in the area.

Loved the food, the music, the atmosphere. Family friendly (we went on a Sunday night). It s a beautiful location. It felt like a fun place you eat on vacation, but it s local!! Check it out.
