Proud Marys Restaurant Review

Very disappointed in both service and cleanliness of this establishment. We arrived at this restaurant at 7pm. We were seated at a very dirty table at 7:35pm. Small food particles were still on the table. The floor was also very nasty. We ordered food and drinks at 8pm. At 9:30pm we inquired about our food and was told it was an hour and a half to two hour wait on food ordered. We informed them that we had been there for an hour and a half and asked why this was not told to us before we ordered. The response we received was a shrug. We did not have food at 10pm when we decided to pay for our drinks and leave!

First timers. Had brisket, pulled pork and ribs. All were good. Was nice enough to sit out on the deck. Will def be back for live music and sunshine.

Chick was rude from the start food was cold and something was in my drink when she brung right on top so she wasn't paying attention

The brisket grilled cheese is my favorite! Service is good, better if you're ordering alcohol out on the patio! Make friends with your neighbors bc you never know who you'll meet at PM!

Lobe coming here, everything is very good from the food to the service. Dont give it 5 stars because it is a bit expensive.

Atmosphere was great!! Most of the food was good, but cold. The ribs were too tuff to eat though. Servers were extremely slow!!!!

Was okay but too expensive ribs were a bit tough mac and cheese was great the live music was really great but it took way to long to get our food and it was not that great portions but the lication is great it was a neat side bisit off the interstate.

Had one of the worst dining experiences of my life here, the highlight of which was the manager sticking her fingers in my red beans and rice, if it could be called that, to tell me she didn t taste any scorch in the beans, in addition to the consistent sewage smell that permeated the establishment. Service was slow, but they were busy and the server did what she could, but the other five people in my party also had cold or incorrect dishes. The food itself was clearly from packaging to plate as opposed to scratch-made at any discernible level, and the management was in desperate need of training. At the end of it all we were still charged for food none of us ate. Very disappointing.

At this point I will never be revisiting, after not being responded to by owners or management on a Facebook review. Talk about unprofessional. Either I just dined on their worst night ever, or their regular guests leaving them rave reviews have never had real bbq and Cajun food, but the management is as much of a joke as the food was. Hope all the best for them, but I ll not be back nor will I recommend any friends or culinary peers visit the establishment.

I have been to this restaurant several times for different occasions. Mostly after zip lining at Boone Creek Outdoors, which I love by the way! They recommended this place to me and I am so glad they did. The food is great and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting. They have lots of seating options inside and out. There is live music as well. It is a great place to meet friends and family and to just hangout and soak up the atmosphere.

Food- awesome! Setting- awesome. Drinks - awesome. Will be back when I'm on my way through!

My new favorite place! Food is delicious,great service,cold beer, & great atmosphere! Needless to say my wife & i will be back. Well worth the drive!

Has a lot of potential, but they obviously don't have enough help. They were only seating about half the tables due to a lack of help. Took two hrs and 15 minutes to get our food after ordering. Manager took care of us, but be prepared to wait a long time!

If you like fried catfish, this place rocks! The best I've ever had and I'm not normally a fan of catfish.

Did not like the food at all the potato salad was not season at all and the brisket was tough with no flavor

This place is awesome!

Alright so now that that's out of the way, we found this place just driving around aimlessly. Decided we were in the mood for BBQ and stopped for a bite.

The atmosphere is fun and laid-back. It's definitely a place to bring friends from out of town in the weekend. They have a river bar too so if you're boating on the Kentucky river it's a great stop if you're hungry.

Food was incredible, staff really makes you feel comfortable and VERY attentive. As an awkward spaz myself, it's nice when an employee can be friendly enough to bring me out of my shell so I was immediately comfortable being in a new place.

They have a bunch of special events going on pretty regularly it seems. I'll definitely be back.

Took the kids while visiting Lexington. Very cool vibe, good food, cool location, and beautiful drive to get there. Would go again for sure!

We came during Restaurant Week and had a fabulous time. The food was delicious, service amazing, and you can t be the atmosphere down on the river. Also I had the mango margarita. It s delicious but so big I couldn t finish it. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later.

Had a very bad experience when it came to the food.Service wasn't bad but it wasn't exceptional either great . If I just reviewed the service they would have gotten three stars. First I made the mistake of ordering the Proud Mary Burger, truthfully this was the first time I couldn't eat a hamburger, it was a burger in name only. It just had a nasty taste, totally the wrong texture and was seasoned poorly. If you place an item on your menu it should of the same quality as any other on your menu.The nasty coleslaw cost 3.50 and was served hot. Don't go here!

We really like it right on the Kentucky River beautiful sight and great barbecue

First time visiting this establishment. Great ambiance. Very crowded. Took a while to get seated. Service was very slow, but like I said, it was very crowded. The band was a lot of fun. The food was ok. Will have e try again another time. Very scenic area

Food took over an hour and 20 minutes to get to us and when it did, we were still missing items. My food was cold and after asking for a manager and not getting any response, we left. Would not recommend.

I used to love coming here but then I found out their hiring policies are very discriminatory. I tried to have a conversation with them regarding this and the man who owns the place called me back and bullied me and told me never call there again. There apparently not capable of having a rational conversation or running an ethical business. They should be shut down trying to run a business this way.

Nice atmosphere. Good is A little pricey for what it is.

Friendly staff and ok prices. I had the brisket plate and it was excellent very tender great Smokey flavor. The sides were ok nothing to write home about but the meat and atmosphere made up for it.

Hubby enjoyed it...I was too full to indulge this time. Great bbq

Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, great setting & good food!

Great place to eat and hang out. They had a band playing awesome music, people out dancing, a large sand play area for the kids in our group. We had a group of 17 and had no trouble seating us, very friendly staff. Huge outdoor area to eat and hang out. We will be back again to enjoy this great place on the river.

Great stuff. Homemade sauces and dressings are on point. Crawdads, ribs, jambalaya, and beans were all great this meal.

I ve been going to Proud Mary s BBQ for quite some time now. I decided to pay a visit to Proud Mary s on a week day instead of the usual weekend. If I m being totally honest, I was a little let down this time.

Drinks are superb as usual but the food has always been hit or miss. The Mac and Cheese consisted more of water than cheese (it was very bland). In addition to the tasteless side, I began to eat the meat and was surprised by saran wrap still stuck on it.

The vibe on week days lack character. The difference between week days and weekends are night and day. The music was pitiful and there was no variety. The band consisted of one musician who seemed to play solely because he s getting paid.

I d be more inclined to spend my money at McDonalds for consistent quality. The (boss?) likes to socialize with his friends instead of running his restaurant. I can only guess that Proud Mary s management is a circus.

Staff are friendly, food service is lightning quick, but I only recommend coming on weekends.

Waited for our table...they gave it away to a party that wasn t event there yet. Very poor customer service. Non accommodating.

The view from the patio is fantastic, great food, fun atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff.

Poor experience with crablegs and corn on the cob, they were still partially frozen when served. Received warm ones but everyone was finished eating. Paid full price still and didn't feel like arguing over something that should be a given, I should've recieved a discount.
