Atmosphere of a restaurant of yesteryear, good service from the waiter, good food
The food was good, and obviously in Paris you are braced for rude waiters, but the service we got was a mix of abruptness and distain, especially as the majority of the table was French. Not really sure what the waiter was basing his arrogance on- but each to their own. Great history and an interesting space, but pity about the waiter.
If you are after a traditional French meal then Le Procope is a great place to come - the food has improved in the last 20 years, and the service is quite good. The place is rambling and replete with slightly faded glory, as you might More
Sitting at the edge of the window, I suffered from the cold while a blower at the entrance propels a hot air almost unbearable.
Asked a posteriori for an invoice, without success despite all the references provided to obtain it by e-mail.
Parisian discomfort and casualness
A great restaurant! very good, with reasonable prices, a perfect welcome, children and babies are welcome (this is not the case in all restaurants), we feel good and we live a unique moment! I recommend !
Wonderful experience and restaurant in Paris! History, service and exquisite food are mixed and make the restaurant a top in Paris to visit.
Servers in top form, beautiful setting. Meal of very good quality despite the price a bit high I think, but we must eat at least once. Photos on the wall of the stars who came here and sublime deco
This restaurant has me a lot more since it has a connection with history and more particularly French history, as soon as we pass the door we are taken by the history of the place which carries us away and it continues when we go up the stairs to go to the room upstairs, we are transported, when the food was really good, just a little flat when the dish I chose which was a duck breast is the quantity there was only one only small slice but the dessert, which was profiteroles was delicious, suddenly I recommend this restaurant to the person who would like for a moment to be in the heart of the history of France.
Historic place in Paris with excellent cuisine where time has stood still.
Beat steak and onion soup that we ever ate. Great wine, food and... People. Place that you have to visit when you are on Paris. Part of great history.
Ps. Like for that taste food prices are just great.
Great place, it goes back to the times before. In short they have to visit it when they go to Paris. I recommend the lemon cake.
The oldest restaurant in St.Germain. In the most rustic alley you can imagine. Good service and delicious food at upscale but reasonable prices.
Stay for the atmosphere in this wonderful historic restaurant. Prices are on par with the quality of food. I had the meal from a reciepe of a 3* Michelin Chef, but, would say it tasted more 1* at best. Still worth the money and the time. Will come back again! Merci!
My rating is a little dry here, but this establishment is a rather expensive restaurant, the decoration although very beautiful and impressive does not forgive the cuisine. The dishes are good but nothing more. The au gratin crust of the onion soup is just too thick. The blanquette is lacking in taste and some of the plates arrived just lukewarm. The fish on the other hand are really good.
We had 2 Procope menus with starter and dessert and we are satisfied with the whole experience.
Superb place delicious old France food and very patina setting and breathing history through all its pores
Nice Food, Friendly Service, price is reasonable.
We have been here 4 nights within 10days time.
Will come again when we visit Paris next time.
Thank you Chon.
Exciting experience. A capitonbolo in the history of the revolution that marks a political break with the Middle Ages and marks the entry of the citizen's freedom. Aleggia Diderot ...
Good value for money
A Parisian institution, the excellent cheek of beef, and other flat classic, unavoidable, go there at least once,
A Sunday lunch worthy of a Madeleine de Proust! Everything was delicious and delicious. We feasted. To discover this place steeped in history and culinary tradition
If you are looking for a restaurant with a varied and not too expensive menu in Cerny, go to the store! The ingredients are of high quality, the cuisine is impeccable and the plates well stocked. Go ahead I tell you, it's only happiness !! Go ahead from me;)
Very beautiful place steeped in history, beautiful decor, beautiful menu. Very good food, quality fresh produce, impeccable service and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Go there with a good hunger because the portions are really generous. Really reasonable prices.
Foie gras is very normal, French onion soup is ok, fried beef is not good.
The food is excellent, equivalent to its long history and the visits of those celebrities with a price not too expensive.
The oldest cafe in Paris. Coffee is available from 3 pm
Koko bang was a traditional cooking experience.
The chicken was too busy.
The onion soup was delicious.
The bass fish dish was okay.
Just a dessert too.
French, very French this restaurant, which I liked, an example of a place of success that has managed to evolve and keep a very good quality.
Historical indicators restaurant. Meals: Rich in taste, desserts: sweet medium. Friendly and patient service. Best booking / waiting time is about 30 minutes
Food is of good quality. The waiters are kind. But there is a slow service. They are also a little uninterested. Paris's oldest restaurant.
Beautiful, historic decor, friendly, helpful service and DELICIOUS food. The Coq au Vin was sooo good. My hanger steak was juicy and perfectly medium. We had the dessert of the evening - a mango claflouti with mango ice cream. Very good. We considered the fixed price menu but decided to go a la carte. Even with my glass of champagne it was under 100 euros. We felt it was definitely worth it for the meal we enjoyed.
Historic place, to appreciate for its setting more than the dishes offered which are only good, correct but disappointing for the price. Friendly staff, however we feel the tourist / Parisian discrimination. Avoid peak hours.
I ve visited this beautiful typical french restaurant a couple of times and both times did not disappoint.
If you want the true french experience, from service, to dessert, you must visit. For a lunch menu with a decent price and nice formula, you can enjoy a 2 or 3 course delicious french meal.Their wine is also great.
Excellent if you're a history buff. You really feel as if you're back in time. The waiters were quick and efficient, but the wait time for our food and dessert was a little long - they seem understaffed. Food was ok, but could've been a bit less bland.
I hate to write a mediocre review about a place that is probably usually really great. However, we did not have a good experience. The service was so slow it was painful. We went long periods without any water, our food took so long that we started to wonder if the order was ever put in. Our waiter was "in the weeds", unable to multi-task and very short with people as he tended to one thing at a time. When the food did finally arrive, it wasn't good. I had the trout with potatoes, it was if they boiled them and then just put them on the plate. It had zero flavor, not even salt. The fish was not deboned and it was soggy, also without any flavor. My husband had the Chicken Supreme dish that was better, but not great. The highlights of the experience was definitely the interior decor. I would not recommend sitting outside unless you want to get smoked out in the alley without a breeze and have tour guides stopping by taking photos of you while you eat. Disappointed.
Historic restaurant. Really very elegant and with a beautiful decoration. Unfortunately the menu is not up to par and neither is the service.
First I would like to state that this restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in Paris and we were so excited to eat here...When we arrived the hostess couldn't be nicer and we thought the restaurant couldn't be more charming...then we sit down and it went down hill from there. We were sat about 9:40 and it took our waiter 40 minutes to deliver one drink and we had ordered four!! He was clearly overwhelmed and completely disorganized! Truly such a shame for such a lovely restaurant!
We finally got up and walked out to complain to a manager. He of course defended the waiter and said he had way too many tables and couldn't handle it...
Sorry NOT an excuse! The waiter could have expressed that it would take a while for drinks and food and apologize, but we barely received a hello...
My recommendation is to avoid this restaurant at all costs! There are so many amazing restaurants in Paris, just stay away from this one!
Historic place, the real french cuisine, a divine lunch menu for a democratic price. You feel like a real parisianne. I loved it.
Unfortunately I did not have a good experience. The place is beautiful, full of interesting facts, however the service is lousy and expensive.
Wonderful evening in this historic restaurant that dates back to the late 1600's. Very French, a little stiff, but the food and service was good and the wine was exceptional.
Excellent. Good time in this historic place with traditional French cuisine. The food was plentiful and delicious with an excellent rum baba generously watered by the friendly waiter. A good and quick welcome with accompaniment at the table.
Superb! A place full of emotion, excellent meal. Thank you.
restaurant part of the protected and historic places of Paris
stylish service (3 servers per table), for excellent menus at a reasonable price for the quality and originality offered (from 25-30 ), staff very welcoming and smiling ... little more: it takes absolutely visit the various rooms upstairs ... even the toilets (also called amenities) are to see also
An institution in Paris! One of the oldest restaurants in the capital, if not the oldest ... A place steeped in history, a warm setting, an exceptional decoration. A tasty cuisine moreover that can be enjoyed in the eyes or with friends, served by a caring staff.
What more can be said ? That we will come back soon ...
Historic site, high quality decor but the quality of food and service are neither up to the place nor the excessive prices charged for delivery
You will still come to this restaurant ... simply because its history, which began in 1686, will lead you to it ... And I, I hope, just had no luck on the day of the visit, when the waiter forgot about the ordered salad, then very - a very very long wait for the main course ...
It is wrong to drop Prestige of the oldest restaurant in Europe !!!
Historic site, the Procope is unfortunately no longer worthy of its history ...
Quite so-so - and lunch on the menu, and service (mixed dessert). If anyone loves low-yielding food and memories of the old masons who have been here 300 years ago (Voltaire, Diderot, Danton and the like), that's fine.
Go for the setting. Quick service at noon. The dishes on the menu are basic, really.
The champagne is good.
Dear for what we ate.
The procope has become a tourist restaurant.
We went to dinner on a Wednesday without a reservation; the place was very full but they took care of us right away and gave us a table by the window.
They have a formula that includes first and second or second and dessert for 31.50, but not all the dishes on the menu are included.
The soup was good although the amount of cheese and bread drowned the soup itself, leaving it on a thick plate. However, we have observed that this is how it is prepared here.
The duck was spectacular, especially surprising the accompanying flavors (the lemon and ginger polenta was delicious)
We did not order desserts, but from the tables next to us we could see that the sizes were very large, more than usual. Average dessert prices were 12
The account for 2 people amounted to 72, coffees and drinks as usual for us raise the account.
The waiter was very correct, although he lacked a little more sympathy.
We recommend Le Procope for its food, tradition and history.
In this restaurant there is also the Napoleon's hat. Traditional French cuisine with very good service. Close table from the internet. Prices for expensive
The frame marks the spirit. Eating at the procope allows you to immerse yourself in real Paris! Service can be long depending on the location of your table.
Had a great meal here, I've passed on this place many times thinking it may be too touristy, and finally decided to try it on the recommendation of a friend, it was very good. Nice wine selection, oysters were good, and the scallop risotto was excellent.
Eat discreetly but the place is definitely worth a visit
A very nice discovery, a good meal in a beautiful setting, full of history ...
Of course, Le Procope is an institution, a historic place, a "place of memory" where to take your children who will have fun with Empire engravings, Napoleon's hat left in debt and who will also enjoy the Salon de tea, a little dark but pleasant.
This place has amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere. It s our favorite place to eat while in Paris.
It is worth visiting this restaurant with a tradition of more than 150 years
Beautiful interior. There is an evening menu (2 or 3 dishes), absolutely not edible
A good reference address. Uneven quality depending on the dishes.
Outside of a charming setting, it is a tourist trap. Very average food, the duck was in box and of poor quality. For a menu at almost 40 euros is a scandal. Go your way.
A mythical place! Do not miss Paris, planning a small budget Paris!
A good moment of pleasure. Dishes in the respect of the tradition. A service to perfection. A map of the come and wise advice
at Odeon, u can not go to this place; the ambiance and the service is wonderful! The food is not so fantastic but the price yes. . U have to know u pay the pleasure to be in the unique place.
Chic living room of the 6th, French royalist in decoration. Refined, delicate gastronomy and the sacred blue that it is good.
