If the quality of the food had lived up to a classified decor then the evening would have been of quality. Outside no.
Pleasant, very beautiful setting. Quality dishes, I recommend!
Interesting place but mediocre meal catches tourists
A service more than impeccable, thanks to the charming young man with the white glasses who took care of us. Very kind, caring and cultured! We were, however, very disappointed with the quality of the dishes that no longer match what we had experienced a few years ago. The setting is always nice and again, special mention for the service that has really saved our evening.
An incredible frame steeped in history, you are in the oldest restaurant in Paris and surely the world, the cuisine is refined and reasonable prices, an address to advise.
Here, you rub shoulders with History! Traditional cuisine very well served, sublime historical decor, not to be missed!
Museum-Restaurant
A must visit spot with every set of meals super delicious
Restaurant of high standing! Staff listening, very good meal!
Napoleon's hat to see !!
On the other hand price sometimes a bit expensive (but when we can not afford to picnic ......)
The frame is not enough to forget the prohibitive price of dishes offered without great originality
A unique place by the place, its staff, and its dishes. Really great it has changed in recent months ouch ouch ouch.
We booked for about fifteen people for our civil wedding. We had a lounge to ourselves, impeccable service and lovely dishes. We left among the last customers it was so nice. A historic address that honors its heritage.
The last time I went, it was in 1999, but I must say that I will not forget, dinner was spectacular and I will never forget it.
We had a steak with cuckoo bang, and the taste rating was 3 points. The taste of Cuckoo bang was the taste that someone could not break the preconceived idea since it showed a sophisticated Andong steamed chicken, and the steak steak is the cheeky sound of the bass. Having a meal here in the historic area after the tour is also fun to enjoy in Paris.
Thank you.
Friendly staff, great historical decor, and pretty good food. The only place in Paris to offer us a high chair for our toddler.
Very nice restaurant. Excellent food. Reception and very friendly waiters. Very good time spent in this place steeped in history.
No idea why this place gets good reviews. Food was pretty terrible and unjustifiably expensive. The most expensive beef dish on the menu was very chewy. Scallops weren't fresh and the flavour was awful - I barely ate any of it. Appetizers were ok but not worth the price.
Atypical setting service at the top. Flat tred correct but the price is excessive. I recommend when this place.
Excellent experience in one of the oldest French restaurants where, it is said, Napoleon himself ate. Elegant setting, excellent service, typical French dishes. A bit on the high side but definitely in line with the type of restaurant.
Very disappointed with this establishment. Unwelcoming staff, More dishes, more desserts at 10 p.m. I posted a message on the site, to date no response ... to flee ....
Enjoying a wonderful meal at the oldest Cafe in the world - same spot that Jefferson, Franklin, and Robespierre met to discuss the French and American revolutions.
A place steeped in history and a sumptuous decor. You can eat divinely well in a particularly refined atmosphere. Extremely courteous service.
A very charming and satisfying bar and restaurant (and more!)! Perhaps one of the best on Grandchamp. I love their draft beers, they have several choices, and the price holds up. You will understand, store is therefore my favorite :)
A visit to the first Restaurant in Paris and enjoy French Gastronomy is part of a great experience.
Le Procope restaurant may be famous for its history and interior, but the quality of the food was extremely underwhelming. I ordered the entree + plat lunch special for 21.9 euro, and while it may seem like a bargain for Paris, I definitely feel like I overpaid given the quality of the food and service.
The entree (app starter) was a green bean starter, and the dish came out on an extremely dirty dish with grease and fingerprints on the entire plate. It didn t look like the plat had been washed from its previous use. I informed the server about the plate issue and they brought out a new serving. But the actual green bean lacked flavor.
The plat (main course) was a pollock fish with seasonal vegetables of peas, beans, carrots, and pearl onions. The Plate again was dirty, but it wasn t as bad as the starter so I ignored it. And the white sauce the fish was served with had a crusty film layer on the surface (not attractive or pleasant). This means that the dish was plated and must have been sitting out a bit before it was served. It makes me wonder if the fish was made and plated a while ago waiting for customers to order it rather than made fresh or served at the right time. And the fish when I cut into it was very undercooked! Argh!
Service: the hostess was a bit rude to the customers in front of me and seemed to be inconvenienced by customers. She kept saying she would get back to them and they needed to wait a bit. This is 2:30pm on a Monday and while there were customers already dining in the restaurant, it wasn t packed full. Service needs work.
Overall, it is safe to say that I am extremely disappointed in the food. And the service was a bit lackluster also. So many huge areas for improvement. Though I won t be checking to see what happens since I don t plan to return unfortunately :(
The food isn't the best and I felt a little bit racism from the waitress when I ask for the menu in English... my visit it was in February
Extremely good and not that expensive for Paris! Also is the oldest restaurant in the city!
Friendly staff, but food was lacking. I think Coq au Vin should have had more than just chicken, half a small potato and a piece of mushroom. I was disappointed with the meal, but not with the friendly staff. They did give me more potatoes after I brought this to their attention, but they were not cooked with the chicken. The person with me liked her meal well enough.
Magnificent setting. Very good value for money on the plate. A beautiful Parisian address.
Warm and friendly welcome very beautiful place in line with its reputation, very good food and good value for money
Some of the greatest time you would ever have and as always it is situated at the heart of the city of love, Paris, great times and good dishes. The best in France.
Very nice restaurant, decent service, refined dishes
As soon as I stepped on the wooden floor stairs, I immediately felt the history of this store. Kangxi opened in 25 years and it is not easy. Tiramisu is a waiter holding a disc and now cut it for you, very delicious. Although they are all called Tiramisu, they feel that Tiramisu is not the same thing as Taiwan. It has never tasted the same taste in Taiwan.
How good you eat here. We saw it in a travel documentary in Paris and there we went. All very good, delicious the tarte tatin
Very good food and an easy experience for those with light-weight French-speaking abilities. Friendly service and tastes that will delight.
Sure, a bit of a tourist-centered meal, but authentic and well done nonetheless. I would recommend it for a "sure thing" experience.
Very nice restaurant. We were in a private room for 12 people away from the noise. The servers are listening to even the smallest. The menu was delicious and the atmosphere of the seventeenth century was very present. I recommend this restaurant to any food lover who also loves history or literature.
One of the oldest restaurants in Paris with relatively good prices .. In a historic environment ... Just a little attention to orders ... because you can buy the restaurant without realizing it ...
Great food & Good service. We're treat by Mr. Alexander at the back of the restaurant.
Really cool venue bit it's really crowded. Not a lot of time or space to soak it all in unfortunately.
It is one of the reference French food restaurants in Paris. Attention to sit at the table left much to be desired (an hour wait) despite having made a reservation and having free tables. Good table service and well prepared food.
Wonderfully historic place, with decors to match. Service was attentive despite the mad rush due to a high turnover of tourists, and the tightly packed tables. Food was very good, as was the wine. I recommend highly, unless you're looking for a cosy and quiet place.
Not terrible
.
.
I never went there but I recommend just to say afterwards: I am a person who drinks my coffee like the lights.
PS: do people manage to put the visit date before 2000?
Old restaurant. Good value for money. Pleasant surroundings. Very stylish. Staff at the top.
Fortunately I went to the oldest cafe in Paris.
Because it is the 1600s, it seems that it is a cafe of an age older than that of Napoleon. I think it is a must-see in Paris.
This restaurant was amazing !!! Must to do in Paris
Perfect . I loved the butlers especially the one who worked at La Coupole!
Fairytale setting, decent food no more for the price
It is a legendary, classic and beautiful site. The food is very rich and the attention is pleasant
Very pretty, historic place. But food and service very average.
Went here for coffee and dessert, we sat in a charming tea room and it was a great experience. The waitress was patient, brought us water as well and was very friendly and welcoming. Their Cafe Leigeois Procope was well worth it.
I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. The dishes were served cold, not very tasty, and one dinner who ordered a fillet of fish got it filled with bones! I guess that the restaurant has a tremendous past but a questionable future
Very atmospheric place. They took a dessert. We sat and studied our places where celebrities once sat.
This cafe is a necessary stop for any tourist in Paris because of its history (oldest cafe in the city). However, I don't encourage the necessity to eat here as it's one of those places where bus full of foreigners stop for their "tour" lunch. The food and service is truly average, but you can find better at any other nearby brasserie. Basically, just co,e for a photo op.
overpriced mediocre food. duck, fish and chicken all tasted very average. We had much better food the previous night at place which was half the price. nice venue with historic relevance.
The main dish is delicious. It is better to eat outside.
I went there 5 times, and 5 times I received an icy welcome. Plus Food / Drinks everything is too expensive for quality.
What a pity to harm such an institution! But what else to expect when you know that the new owner is none other than the owner of Burger King ...
Lots of history here, but my steak was tough and expensive.
Superb location
Lovely staff
Kitchen any damage
a journey through time and into French culinary traditions !!!
Come to four for a birthday meal.
Friendly welcome, efficient and smiling service, excellent cuisine.
We will probably come back, because really not disappointed.
A historical restaurant if any. The filet de loup was delicious but not as amazing as the Tiramisu Procopio style. Very friendly staff and a classic Paris experience.
Wi-Fi comes up but I can't connect
The atmosphere is good as it is famous, but it puts too many tables and the atmosphere dies.
And overall take longer
But historically meaningful and atmospheric, 4 points?
Like escargots everywhere
Coco bang is not bad but steamed chicken is more delicious
Yangba soup is healthy only
Such a historic place with great food! The beef was amazing!
