This place is absolutely worth a visit. Wonderful food and very good service. We celebrated my niece birthday here. Prices very reasonable. Starter, dish, dessert for 38 - 39 dollars. Everything we had was just wonderful!

you wanna play the "revolution"? well the you owe it to yourself to get into le procope. napoleon and his cohorts used to come here and all the great thinkers of the illuminism had their cheese served at le procope. in a grand atmosphere you will enjoyboth outstanding food and wine, not mentioning the historical aura that can be rubbed.

When in Paris we wanted the classic French dining experience. Le Procope was reccomended had the ambiance and menu we were looking for. Started with a roquette salad...terrific, my wife had the trout which was presented beautifully and I had an amazing steak tartare. The amaretto sabayon for dessert capped the evening. The service was wonderful. This place is not for the "Ugly American" type!

Location: it is a place where, in my opinion you can breathe the History, the furniture, the paintings, the books, the famous phrases that I see written in the various rooms and even in the bathroom, make this place a place to visit for sure. Vote, 9.5
Service: the service is very nice and careful. Every dish is explained to you, but you don't have the worry of your personal waiter
I really enjoyed the preparation of the dining room people. Rating: 9
Menu: typically French, some dishes are starred. All of quality and very good. The wine cellar is of excellent quality, you can also choose very important wines. For my deformation, I always pay special attention to desserts ... which are excellent. Rating: 9
Account: it is not a cheap place, but for how the restaurant is renowned, for the service etc. 4 main courses with correct portions, 4 desserts, water and wine 45 euros each I think is very proportionate. Rating: 9

Very Disappointing! Service way below average with one waiter per area (20-30 people). Waiting time unacceptable. Food bearly decent. My recommendation is to avoid this place, as there are much much better restaurants in Paris.

This restaurant is on the well trodden tourist trail but is a highlight of any foodie's trip to Paris. This is one of the world's first restaurants and was the haunt of some of France's best known characters, from Napoleon to Voltaire. Even if you don't eat there, it's worth a stop to see Napoleon's hat and the warren of little rooms throughout the 17th century building. For such a lovely setting, the prices are surprisingly moderate. Five stars for overall value, five stars for location and ambience, five stars for historical value, three stars for service and three stars for the food, which was conventional but tastefully done, with a good selection of the "French classics" (coq-au-vin, etc.). Better than average plates include: endive and Roquefort salad; grilled trout; and pintade in creamy sauce on a bed of savoy cabbage.

Disappointing !

Disappointing !
I have dreamed of coming to Procope for years, I came there for my birthday with my wife and were really disappointed.
The place is not up to the institution it claims to be. Poor value for money.
The dishes served do not correspond to the menu displayed.
The intimate atmosphere is not at the meeting either, upstairs anyway. The tables are glued to each other, the decoration aging and unrefined. We really felt like we were in a "tourist trap".

Long service, I stayed 2h30 to get dinner. Other people were seen in front of me and arrived later. Ice cream was not good. The food, with the exception of the onion soup (greasy), was good.

I have always found this place enchanting where you can still breathe history.
But also the story of an Italian, Procopio in fact, who with his excellent coffee had been able to gather illustrious people around him. Always clean and tidy. The staff of an almost unfashionable education and kindness. Excellent cuisine, always impeccable.
Prices not higher than some brasseries.

This is a the oldest french restaurant in Paris which is still open from 1686 (!) The food is french and the service is great. On the left side at the entrance you can find Napoleon Bonaparte hat, which was left there when he could not pay the bill (so the story says).

Business lunch is good, but prices for every extra are amazingly high, so note that in advance.

Dinner on 25/02/17, room Voltaire

Dinner on 25/02/17, room Voltaire
Onion soup too thick: too much onions, too much bread, little broth, impression of eating onion puree. The waiter asked the chef to change it (another guest did the same) but I was given the same. The waiter offered me another entry.
Fish too cooked and cold, mashed in cold garnish.
Tab not very soft, not french fries
On the other hand the reception (the hostess and the waiter) were professional, friendly.
If the kitchen had been like home, the meal would have been perfect !!!
Note that we have lunch several times with satisfaction.

The feeling you get as you walk in the doors is the feeling that will accompany you throughout the culinary journey you've just embarked on. It's the feeling of wonderment and total gratification. You will be lost in admiration and examination of the fancy and intricate setting you've immersed yourself in. Your first exchange with your waiter will wash away any doubt you could have and you will know that you will be cared for. Your food will be placed before you not a moment too soon, nor too late. The food will be perfect. After dinner, you'll enjoy a perfect little espresso accompanied by a small cake that will top off the experience you've just had.

A great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere in the heart of the Latin quarter.

I had 2 traditional dishes. Both the cobbed beef and steamed beef cheeks are so delicious. There was so much that I couldn't erase it cleanly. For dessert, cheese meringue tart and homemade tiramisu are recommended.

Epi 1 Meal 2 Wine 2 Disut 1 I got about 100. It was a little expensive, but I do not think it's expensive to think about the atmosphere! I want to go to eat again. The duck steak was so delicious and the vanilla milkyu was the best.

I've eaten there several times, always to my full satisfaction:beautiful decor, great staff, excellent food. Today was the first time with a group. Not only did the staff handle our delay graciously (yay for Parisian traffic!), they also easily adapted to going from 30 to 36 guests, menu change, early departures ... I have brought in a number of enchanted new guests today (and without breaking the bank at our end)

Where you can taste traditional French food

Where you can taste traditional French food
Korean menu was available, so it was easy to select the menu
I ate beef head dish, but it's the same taste I had in Korea, so I'm disappointed
Escargot (snail dish) is salty, so 4 ~ 6 are suitable.
It was difficult to order because there were many people
It is said that Napoleon left his hat and believed it.

Really magical place in Paris, the service is very effective or even too much (too fast) and it lacks a little warmth and style. You could expect a service a little more ... how to say caring and smooth. We feel that More

Waiting too long, clearly the team is under staffed, every step of the dinner is an endless wait. The dishes were lukewarm and a glass of wine was forgotten but not on the note of course. The setting is beautiful but it is not worth the price. Knowing the Bertrand group this does not surprise me ...

The place has some history to it, the building itself is old, furnished with good taste.
Food was tasty.

Now to the sad part.
This place is very overpriced (paid 80 euros for 2 entrees), portions are small. I ordered some 3* Michelin recipe fish, and they brought me a plate, where a small amount of regular tasting mashed potatoes are floating in large amount of butter (waaay too much butter), and a square of white fish on a top. Fish has had skin on it.
We were there with our 2 year old son. They offer a high chair, but they do not have kid's menu.
Indoor sitting was a bit cramped.
Our waitress was not friendly, and once we were done with our meal, she literally was peeking from around the corner to make sure we are leaving...what...

The fish I ordered was most and delicious with a delicately flavored says atop shredded leeks. A great meal with great service. Don't miss out on the history and artifacts decorating the walls. As this to your list of places to go if you are in the area.

Great historic decor, this is the longest running restaurant in Paris and the dining rooms are beautiful. I went to a hot chocolate, and wasn't overwhelmed by the quality, but it's really more about the setting!

Le Procope is one of the finest restaurants in Paris that lives up to it's historic name. To start, the building itself is a beautiful work of art that transports the patron to 17th Century France when this restaurant was first founded! The red walls, gold trims, wrought iron railings, white linens and a plethora of high class decor exemplifies fine dining. Walking through the narrow hallways, diners are treated to antique displays and historic articles as if one were walking through a museum.

The service is exceptional with friendly greeters and servers who do not exhibit any condescension. The servers are very knowledgeable and are responsive to all your needs. As you walk through the restaurants, you are greeted by all you come across.

Le Procope claims the title of oldest continuous restaurant in Paris since 1686 but should embrace the title of best restaurant in Paris period!

A bit of a tourist trap. The food is overpriced for the quality. The flavors are just okay. It's an interesting stop, but there are certainly better places to try in Paris if you're looking for a tasty dinner out.

Walk thru a doorway in the wall off the street and enter into a different place, into a narrow enclosed mall, continue further more and a cobble stone alley, lined with various types of restaurants, with outdoor seating, just a wonderful atmosphere, and ambience.

We sat here, being one of the oldest established restaurants circa 1686 with history to boot.
We ordered the salad for starters, followed by the the fish ( pollock), and the duck (canard), accompanied with a crisp, chilled rose, just great on a hot balmy night.

This fish was cooked perfectly, nice and light. The duck leg was deep and complex flavoured, with mushrooms and a good bodied sauce, with baby potatoes.
Followed by the classic dessert creme brulee. Could not fault a thing.

Our waiter, who was fully in control in a relaxed way, made service a joy and enjoyably relaxed.
Highly recommend this place!!! Fantastic!!!

201901/31, Procope, a wave coffee shop opened in 1686, has a traditional Chinese version menu, which is exactly the same as the French version. The business lunch at noon is great, and it is delicious to love the delicious snail (snail). The oldest coffee shop, everything is so perfect combination, big push, but consumption is not cheap

It opened in 1686 by the Italian Sicilian Francesco Procopio dei Coltelli, named after the Eastern Roman historian Prokopius, whose Secret History tells Justinian I, his Queen Diorola. And the scandal of his court.

The Prokob Cafe was renovated in the 18th century style from 1988 to 1989. It features red walls, crystal chandeliers, and 18th-century oval portraits of famous people. The waiters wore uniforms from the Revolution.

We walked by this brasserie most days during our month long trip to Paris. Its facade is so charming we had to spend our last night here. The inside is just as charming and our wait staff was pleasant and competent. Unfortunately the food did not live up to our high expectations or the high reviews. My steak was rare even though I ordered it medium. My husband did not like his meal either. It wasn't a complete fail because my daughter enjoyed her pasta with vegetables and I loved my tiramisu. There are wonderful brasseries up and down the street for half the price. Do yourself a favor and go to one of those instead. I wish we had!
