I had one of the most tasty coq au vin I have ever tasted. It's a classy place, a bit of Paris landmark. The decoration resembles of past centuries. It's spacious so if you show up earlier then you will manage to get a table without a reservation. In terms of prices, it is on the expensive side but it is value for money. Don't try the house wine, it wasn't something special.

The oldest cafe in Paris is an excellent place to meet and have at least one coffee. It's a slightly expensive place, but it's worth the food. This is practically a historical place.
Very historic restaurant in Paris. The oldest one still operating, I believe! Had a fantastic meal here, even went for the escargot! Very authentic place to eat.
Not the easiest place to find and takes a long time by car to get near to and parked. Very old building which I understand was originally a coffee house and one of the oldest in Paris. Food was very nice and Menu varied to suit most tastes. Excellent well stocked range of wines, beers and spirits. Prices are towards the higher end.
On the whole okay okay veal schnitzel very bad quality sea bass full of bones. Were glad to have a Frenchwoman with us otherwise the fish complaint would not have worked so well. For high class no special service.
This is my go-to restaurant the day I arrive in Paris from the states. Charming cobbled streets, it's in the oldest part of Paris, and open all day -- great staff.
Heat historic bistro with great food. Traditional French cooking with high quality ingredients. A lot of atmosphere. Highly recommended. Price is high.
It's French, it's very good, it's very beautiful too! We go for birthdays, parties ... always satisfied. The beef cheek hummm and the baba for dessert, good digestion;) the wine is good, not expensive piquette.
Sick as a dog after eating raw beef filet that looked to be as old as this place claims to be. My own fault for not sending it back, waiter did not ask how I wanted it prepared. Other parts of meal all adequate but not out of the ordinary. Waiter did pick a good wine out of the three we asked about.
Quality of the food: Nothing to say, it is excellent. Quality of service: Perfect! Waitresses very smiling and courteous. On top of that, the decor and atmosphere of old Paris is great. I advise people who want to even take a coffee, it's nice. I will come back when I return to Paris.
It was a place I dreamed of visiting, being passionate about literature and studying Letters. I was blown away by the decoration, it's a real museum upstairs! The service was fast enough, but we didn't feel "rushed" to finish and go. The dishes were very good, and at 21.90 the menu is good value for money. However, I am not entirely satisfied. We were installed in a very small room, in a corner, we practically ate with our neighbors. Then the person taking care of us did not give us the drinks menu or the menu card. We couldn't even make our choice. Finally, the butler made the wrong addition. These are small hiccups, but it's a terrible shame for a restaurant of this prestige. Finally, the team did not seem to know where to go, there was a big lack of communication, two people were working because one had to replace the other, so at the organizational level ... and they had the he seems to be fed up with working, which is really not professional ... I recommend because it is a place to see, but don't go for the service.
Oldest continuously running cafe in Paris. The story is Napoleon left his hat here to pay for his bill when he was a lieutenant. Prices in the menu was quite reasonable. Booking in advance recommended. They have 3 floors of dinning areas. We went late September only the 1st floor was almost full. Great rich onion soup! has more cheese than onion in it!
A little more expensive than the other coffees, but certainly worth a visit. Already important people like Voltaire and Benjamin Franklin have gone wrong and have written some of their human rights. Definitely worth seeing, but a coffee does not have to be.
Place where Marat is made murder by Charlotte Corday. Mythical and historical place. I was really surprised by the importance of this building. Very warm interior, impeccable service. Terrace on the back open in summer.
Recommended when I looked at Coq Au Van, provided me with a gastronomic experience and unprecedented tourist. Obviously recommend, not just for Coq Au Van!
Warm place with professional and attentive staff. The fish dish presented on the menu as a recipe from Pierre Gagnaire (Chef 3 *) was extremely disappointing and without any interest. Pity.
Procope has become an annual destination for my birthday. Friendly, efficient service, well prepared & presented cuisine. The onion soup au gratin was one of the best - hot, lots of onions with a grilled cheese top on the top piece of More
Fine dining in a historic restaurant. Try the sea food platters if you are into that or ask to be shown the preparation by the sea food chef. Expensive but worth it
The Procope is a restaurant that will make you travel. In the heart of Paris, he refers you to the era of the greatest, with Rousseau and Tocqueville among others. The dishes served are very appetizing dishes. From rooster to wine to bar fillet, every taste is waiting to impress your taste buds.
Great food. I recommend a dish cooked by a Michelin chef (it is reported in the menu, it would be fish with something else). Exquisite. Also the duck with polenta I recommend. Beautiful place
This restaurant is an overpriced tourist trap. The food is mediocre, at best & the service is terrible. It is the worst dining experience we have had in Paris. There are too many, far better restaurants near by. Do NOT waste your time or money at this third rate restaurant. Horrible experience from beginning to end!!!!
In a place steeped in history, we had a very pleasant time and the dishes were very good. The rooms are really ... Vintage and it's really good that way. The service was very good too.
Exceptional setting, but what a disappointment as soon as you take your seat! Just a few olives to accompany the aperitif, a carafe of water which is just a simple bottle out of the fridge (covered with condensation, you have to wipe your hands after each use), a fish dish that is just okay (the beans are steamed, tasteless, all covered with a tasteless sauce). Not to mention the service: half of the dishes are no longer available, the waitress places the cutlery on the left and not on the right so as not to have to go around the table ... This address enjoys a reputation that it no longer deserves, it has become an ordinary brewery.
It's hard to find something negative about Le Procope. The place is just magical and the food is divine. Try the snails and the Coq au vin. Go there if you want to be transported to another era.
Restaurant reference of the great thinkers and tasters. Go with your head open for knowledge. The proposal is full and adaptable menu with values accessible to the local standard and fame. The value for home is around 50 euros without drink.
Such an amazing place to eat, drink and visit! The space is absolutely stunning, designed to show the place's history. The menu is quite normal and prices are reasonable. The service was impeccable! Definitely worth a visit!
I found myself on the terrace of this restaurant at random while walking in the alleys without knowing the story, but visiting groups of tourists challenged me, It is the oldest cafe in Paris, the place is steeped in history, great philosophers, energies of great thinkers, and especially the birth of revolution or encyclopedia. The staff is up to the smiling surroundings available, it's a warm place with French cuisine with specialties dating back to 1600 I absolutely recommend
Mecca of French gastronomy. The service is impeccable. We ate at a dozen people so the room can accommodate groups of people. You can not go through this restaurant without tasting their lobster prepared for all sauces.
I invited a friend for his birthday on 29.08.19 by booking in advance to have a location that suited me. Missed ! The dishes served were almost thrown on the table, the waiter said to my friend "and get in the stomach that I spend", another waitress "stop saying that, I'm not senile" Flat side, the chicken was tasteless bathing in a tepid cream without taste. Hard profiterole cabbages, vanilla ice cream worthy of a discount product and cold chocolate. Addition for two 190 euros. I knew this establishment, it has changed but I will change my address in the future. Paris is big and the decor is not everything!
