Stunning!!!! 200 years not to believe. Both beautiful place and interesting history, outstanding service and food Wow !!!!! Equally worthwhile
no complaints about this excellent address where it is good to come for a snack
Food: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Interior: 5/5
Service quality price good, you eat very well the place is a classic that I advise to go.
One of the oldest Parisian restaurants from which the atmosphere of old Paris absolutely breathes ... genius loci perfect ..location in a busy yet quiet place ... and as a cake on the cake the best (and biggest) creme brulee I've ever eaten
Oldest restaurant in Paris. Good food, great atmosphere. Price / performance is right. It's worth a visit.
Simply fantastic.
You must go and eat in this restaurant if you are in Paris.
Once-food is not very good course
Just what
Nice restaurant. Huge capacity. Not good service though. Food is okay. But good one time experience in the oldest cafe in Paris.
Worse experience of my life in a cafe, run away. I ordered a tea, the teapot was leaking. The teapot changed, the water of the tea had a dreadful salt taste. It's really mean as a reaction from the server. Worst experience ever. The kind of place that Paris ruins' reputation, the waiter was mean, disrepectful, run away from it ...
An excellent dinner and the kind attention of Mr. Arnaud who brings at this moment a tone of conviviality imprint of professionalism
Thank you for this moment !!!
Historic restaurant with tradition menu. Mid to high price range but worth it, good food.
Their homemade sorbets are delicious despite the high price. The welcome was not very warm the time I was there.
The onion soup was great. Steak and fish were ok. Service was very courteous but slow, which for us was actually nice because it allowed us to enjoy the atmosphere. The location itself is very cool (and that fact is priced into the menu)
Historical restaurant. You can see the tables of Voltaire and Jean Jacques Rousseau and others. Great food and service.
Tasty, but the service could be quick. I had to wait for the opportunity to order more than 15 minutes, despite the fact that the institution was filled by almost a third.
Excellent restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and fast!
Great to visit and enjoy the experience plus Coffee Gourmand!
Have been living in Paris for 3 years. One advice: don't go to French restaurants! Avoid this one too: the prices are too high and food is terrible. I ordered French onion soup - onions were not cut properly and tasted unpleasant. The spoon that came with it was unwashed. We ordered chicken and they brought duck and claimed that it was chicken. The toilet was closed for some reason and no one informed us about this ahead.
Magical setting, impeccable service and good food. It is better reserved.
I already made a comment on the Procope saying that it was a very chic establishment but a little expensive otherwise the food was good
I dined in on December 24th. The place was pretty packed as a lot of restaurants were closed early. I waited 40 minutes to get my appetizer. I waited another 50 minutes to get my main meal. I then decided to order my dessert ahead of time to avoid any more delays; I got my dessert in 5 minutes while I was still working on my main meal. This place ruined my Christmas Eve dinner and I m never coming back.
Avoid this place at all costs during holiday seasons if you are planning to spend quality time with loved ones.
Delicious place, very good service, tasty food and well served. Prices a little above.
It is unacceptable that in an establishment like this an order is still not taken into account after 20 minutes of waiting. Seated under the portrait "Piron" this 18/11 to 15H30, my wife and I, yet accustomed to the Procope, left without having been served!
So, I will not recommend this historic restaurant anymore; our capital offers so many more ...
The food was over priced the service is adequate at best have been to much better places
Oldest restaurant in Paris 1686, attractive views. Restroom was not clean. Looks weird for such place. Food is quite good, personnel was wonderful.
Tasteless and uninteresting food, expeditious service, wobbly table, very limited reception, waiter elsewhere, value for money not justified, overvalued place, tourist trap.
Meh. Its reputation precedes it. Good, not spectacular food, historic settings, just nice
REALLY DISAPPOINTING FOOD !!!!! NEVER NEVER AGAIN.
WASTE OF MONEY AND REALLY EXPENSIVE FOR THE QUALITY!
AVOID COMING!!
Old mythical address of the capital ... TOO GOOD FOOD
Remarkable setting, I can say revolutionary, in the true sense of the word given its history, affordable menu, the welcome is serain, in short everything you need to have a good time friendly.
Beautiful rooms. Interesting history to soak up and investigate. Service attentive but not rushed nor pushy. Best service we've had so far in Paris! Thanks to the lovely Isabelle. Went before lunchtime & stayed for a couple of lingering (heavenly) drinks while our baby slept. We were treated to a tour of the building when put baby woke and were about to leave, as it wasn't so busy. One of the most enjoyable mornings in Paris yet!
a historic environment in which you can breathe the atmosphere of other times ... excellent dishes
Good meal, the waiter seemed a little expeditious in the service. Well received, very nice setting to do once
You feel like a character in the story, at least Diderot
If you weren't poisoned, be glad. Read the reviews. It's a ticking time bomb. Food handling for both shellfish and raw beef are horrendous. Don't ruin your trip with this. If you must visit (it's interesting, historically), go for coffee in the mid-afternoon. Eat at your own risk.
Hello, this is Paris YouTuber Mussucan :)
This is a place that has historical significance rather than taste.
It is a living museum that many tourists visit.
The first cafe in France (1686).
Napoleon drank over ten cups of coffee a day here,
He said he left his hat for coffee.
Napoleon's hat hangs at the entrance.
It is a meeting place for those who led the French Revolution such as Roussona and Mara.
It can be seen as the birthplace of the great revolution.
The last letter that Louis XVI and Mariantoinette exchanged are on display.
Good reception but which "runs out of steam" quickly enough.
Small tables like in a bistro. We expected a little more space and privacy for a supposedly renowned gastronomic and select restaurant.
Indication on the site of obligatory elegant dress but which in reality is not respected.
Service correct at the start and when there are not many people, but take over as soon as the pace picks up. The young waitress, visibly poorly experienced but of good will.
All the same magnificent atmosphere.
Good dishes but nothing gourmet, close to those of a quality bistro.
Particular point for traditional dishes. It is worth the detour to this restaurant.
The prices of the starters are exaggerated, those of the dishes are correct and the desserts are average.
A single slice of foie gras as a starter for 22 euros is still a bit tight.
Finally, we had a pleasant time which could have been enhanced by a more suitable and intimate table space. For the price we paid two we could have made a real gourmet restaurant in Normandy.
It was a first experience in this restaurant and I don't know if we will come back again. To have.
Nice decor with mythic legend, the food is not so special, a bit overpriced.
One of the best restaurants in the capital. The welcome is impeccable and the dishes are delicious.
Very nice little shop outside of Monet's house. Go through the gardens early in the morning.
Has a long history, elegant decoration, moderate prices, and overall good!
I visited after 14:00.
The restaurant is still full.
The fish is thin ... the chicken is thick ... the amount is very large.
Dish-Dessert gives you 21.5
I wonder if I will revisit.
The staff is friendly but ...
The sound of the serve is noisy anyway ...
The sound of lowering the plate was swaying around.
What an excellent place for a date night. The experience is high class and the prices are reasonable. We always enjoy experiencing a night out here.
Great food and service. Ambiete is consistent. Sufficient space for larger groups.
The site shows that it has character. It is said that from this restaurant they left for the taking of the Bastille
on its walls names and appointments of illustrious French
the food seemed regular
A very warm cafe-restaurant where many writers and philosophers have come before us, which makes this place particularly authentic. The service is impeccable and the food, mainly French, succulent. Remember to go for a walk upstairs where the decor is even more sumptuous than the ground floor.
The meals are very good and the service is in place.
A warm welcome. Excellent food. A place steeped in history in the heart of Paris. To recommend.
In addition to the smell of insanely tasty coffee in the air, the smell of the history of this place rises. I will not write about prices, because going to this place and thinking about the price list spoil the whole of this shell, which is one word - unique.
An incredible historic setting. Traditional menu, I recommend the calf's head. Impeccable service.
Food without any flavor (foie gras, rooster with wine, snails) Good damage for an establishment of this tradition.
You have to go at least once, it's part of the story
You can have another better choice.
The waiteress gave us a used bread basket with one and half bread inside. The half one was bitten by someone else.
Actually they usually provide a full basket of bread to each table.
Onion soup was too salty to finish and we left almost 1 bowl (we ordered two bowls and force ourselves to finish one).
Fresh oysters not clean properly and caused us cut of our fingers and lips by the shells.
Escargot meat a bit too old and sauce not good enough.
Not professional services by one of Asian Waiter who serve us in that day. He didn't care any even though we left a lot of soup.
The sofa seats were terrible and suggest better not to sit if you wear a short skirt or pants.
Environment are not comfortable and clean well. Especially the mirrors and toilets are quite uncomfortable.

Famous place in Paris. And quite. Just because this cafe is many, many years old. Once writers and poets gathered here - now they are famous. Both artists and artists.
Quality traditional cuisine.
Efficient service and friendly staff.
The old setting is splendid and remains warm.
A good address!
Great historical building! The cakes unfortunately not so special. Shame really.
Restaurant of the league of champions of France of the French high gastronomy in Paris and I have as project to make a meeting with the members of the management team for the next times which will be proposed to us for the first year in Paris.
A very good meal in a setting borrowed from history.
Incomparable atmosphere, pleasant meal a pooi expensive. Location steeped in history .... Marat prepared his articles ....
Nice setting on Paris.
The dishes are not exceptional considering the price ... A little decu
Beautiful historic restaurant, great food and service
