Some driver of theirs cut off a line of vehicles on i90 in Erie Pa no turn signals on or anything almost caused a pile up and I called to report him to their safety team but they didnt even care. Wonder how they would have felt paying out millions in legal fees if this individual caused a pile up.

I started at Prime in Feb 2017 and left March 2019. While there, I was able to learn a lot about the trucking industry and how to be a professional driver. The amenities provided at Primes terminals are indeed awesome. And the office staff are rather pleasant and get things done.

However, due to the large number of drivers, it is easy for one to fall between the cracks. Issues go unresolved and truck maintenance is shoddy at best. Something to realize as a lease operator is that the truck is not yours, even though you foot the bill (up to $1,050 per week!) for 3-4 years depending on your contract. They do offer a lease purchase program after a period of time there.

The training program has lately begun to focus more on quantity over quality of driver, and there is very little quality control over driver trainers. Again, this is due to how many drivers there are in total.

The reasons I left I will keep personal, but for the most part I was happy with my time at Prime. I still suggest it to those looking to get their CDL and get some experience as the training program is one of the best of the mega carriers. But I also suggest doing your 1-2 years and finding a smaller company that wont just treat you as a number.

All in all, I appreciate Prime for giving me my start, but it ended up not being a career company for me.

I have been with Prime for over 5 years. I have no complaints. I stay out 2-3 months by choice and try to balance my hours so I seldom need 34 hour restarts. My dispatcher keeps me running so I don't sit too much. As a lease operater, I make some pretty good money.

I have been a company driver here for 4 years after going through the CDL program. I have NEVER been treated as just a number. My Fleet Manager and his staff have always given me undivided attention as if i am their only driver (and he has 90ish). They know me well. The facilities and trucks are amazing compared to other companies my friends work for. When problems arise, they are addressed when brought to the attention of the correct person. I am so proud to work here. Most of the negative reviews I see come from lease ops who do not understand business and trying to learn business and driving at the same time. Despite Prime offering lease training classes, many do not apply their advice and training then complain it is Prime fault. I have never been micromanaged, and plan on staying here forever! lol

Only the people that don't want to work......Don't make money. I run Texas Regional as a Flatbed Lease Truck. I make plenty of money. You can't drive a truck 2 weeks, And then want to take a whole week off. Those are the Type that don't make it.

No complaints here. Primes pays for you to come here, provides: housing, food, shuttle, weekly allowance, cdl (if u pass the test) and last but not least a job. Most people know prime is an OTR trucking company but they still wanna be home every weekend and that's the reason some are unsuccessful.

Don t know much about the company but do know a lot about their drivers and how they think when it s time to quit for the day. These drivers go above and beyond to park next to heavy haul trucks that need a peaceful nights rest only to be woken up in the middle of the night with their interior vibrating due to a reefer engine cycling all night three feet from the head of your bed or being choked out by APU diesel fumes. Anyone can drive a truck. There s a select few out there that are aware of the environment and will park accordingly. Those are the professional drivers.

What a wonderful place for a new driver or existing driver I came here with my CDL and the training is amazing they want to make sure that you are successful and what you doing even though I have my CDL they won't hire you if you can't pass the simulator which makes sense because if you can't pass the simulator how can you pass it on the road in the Millennium Building is an amazing building thanks to Rob Lowe for making an amazing place and be careful when playing basketball with him because he's a professional NBA player. Also I had an amazing recruiter everything that she has Promised me I am getting, if you think of come to Prime call Angela Gomez she will take care of you.

Would give them a zero if I could the brokerage department does not hold up their end of the deal. I was promised over and over I would get detention pay to wait on a load we were doing for them, three weeks later SAM in the brokerage department still will not answer our calls will not return calls and will not respond to emails. My advise to independent owner ops stay clear from prime we learned a hard lesson dealing with them.

Well I got trained at Springfield Mo, drove for them for 1.5 years left to drive nearer to my house be home more often, the money was so much less and the hassles so much more that I bolted like a flash back to Prime and when I got hired back on my Ex wife was like yessssss as it actually meant more time off with my family...as I choose when I go home and how long I stay home...and the money is wayyyy better, which means more child support for her and my kids! I love Prime and love my dispatcher! Thanks Doug

Warning Don t work under Terri Higdon!! She will harass and slander you. And the people over her have their heads in the clouds and don t care about their drivers all they care about is protecting the people who worked there for 10+ years. And if you have problems they won t let you switch driver managers. They want to push you out of Prime. Not all people are bad but if you hear her name RUN and if you do work under this sorry excuse for a driver leader then I d advise you to keep on foot out of the door because she will sabotage you!! Other than that I love the facility. Salon and grill are good. I also love the work out facility every time I go there I get in a good workout and hot shower.

If you can't make money with prime, you need to get out of the industry. I've been an owner operator for years, with my own truck, with other companies. I didn't want to buy one of these newer trucks because of the problems they have. Prime allows me to lease one, without the headaches of owning one.

I was recently working for prime and my experience was Amazing I dont have a bad thing to say about the company or even my trainer....but the fleet manager my God...I'm 38 years old and have NEVER been talked to the way that man felt he could talk to me....me and my trainer got into a disagreement and before he called it was ok but after talking to him I was told to go home because prime doesn't need me...yessss I defended my character because the fleet manager who doesn't know me at all took what my trainer said for face value and was not at all interested in my side of the story nor any explanation from me...but again I say me and the trainer was fine...again I say give prime a try because outside of the FM I had an absolutely positive and welcoming experience everyone else was extremely helpful kind just genuinely awesome humans and the older drivers are more than willing to teach and talk to you about what you need to know...I truly hate that I couldn't stay longer but I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been apart of prime..and who knows after I finish my training and get more experience maybe they will hire me back..

My husband and I just finished orientation for Prime's lease program. We are very impressed thus far and are blown away by the amount of respect and intentional care the company shows their drivers. I typically don't send out a review so early on but we have only experienced one positive thing after another...after another.
The amenities are beautiful, staff is friendly and even call you ma'am and sir (what?), food is surprisingly tasty for cafeteria food, they are dog friendly and have a dog park and a pet wash station. The shop is thorough and mechanics aren't grumpy, the truck wash is excellent, oh, and the owner plays basketball with the staff on the daily. Pretty impressive.

My good friends work here and gave me a tour and it looks like an awesome place to work! Finding the correct parking space was a pure challenge though! So many gates!
They have a gym and a spa and a food court and a Prime Merch shop it was so interesting! I feel like prime really takes care of its employees

With every company, they have their ups and downs....

With every company, they have their ups and downs. Regarding Prime, once things go south, it happens very fast and you quickly become the outcast and a "Safety Risk"! First off, Prime requires all trucks to be tuned back 33% on horsepower and torque and requires a governed speed of 58 mph. Next, Prime installs an array of high tech equipment in these trucks from cameras, sensors, to sonar, and GPS. In other words, you cannot fart without SOMEONE knowing. The high tech equipment wouldn't be so bad except they will ALWAYS take the side of the computer readings over the drivers. The cameras they install (Company Drivers) allow them to monitor EVERYTHING (360) views of the truck and trailer. Meaning, in addition to inside the cab or everything in front of the driver and passenger seat because that is deemed "THE OFFICE." If you use black out curtains around the windows for more cab space, they can, they have, and they will monitor you getting undressed and record it. Lastly because I could go on awhile, they every possible service available to meet truckers needs. However, weather you are a company or lease driver, you are required to go to "THEIR" doctors at all times for any medical treatments, especially medical cards. Prime terminated my Lease agreement because I would not go to "THEIR" doctors and it was not in my contract. They were on an 85-90% diagnosis rate, diagnosing everyone whom went to Prime's doctors with Sleep Apnea. Most insurances will not cover the costs and it is a $10k per head cost for the drivers. BTW- EVERYTHING I HAVE MENTIONED HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED IN WRITING!!

I would not recommend a driving job for someone with a family. My husband started his CDL training in feb 2018. It is now june and My children and I have only seen him for a total of 6 days since February. He gets a measly 500 check from prime and that goes to food and the showers you have to pay for on the road. I have no as a Registered Nurse pick up a 2nd job to cover all our bills. His children are a mess without him...since "daddy has always worked in town. He was told by his first training instructor that he makes 350,000 a year as a PSD instructor.....THAT is fals hope and an empty promise. He has to get a 2nd training instructor due to the 1st instructors failure to do his job...keep in mind this is a driver driving with sugar levels 400 plus and when DOT physical time comes around he sleeps in his truck and doesn't eat for two days so he can pass his DOT physical. The 2nd instructor did "short hauls" which has prolonged my husband's mileage requirements. He will miss his childrens birthdays, our family vacation, our 5th wedding anniversary as well as christmas and thanksgiving. This is a horrible progam that has us in debt for his schooling now....THEN i was informed once his millage is done I will get to see him 24 days out of the year...most importantly his children. His 2nd instructor faild to inspect a trailer and when the load was dropped off to the next guy a complaint was made. His trainer NEVER inspected the trailer and the tires were shredding. My husband though this would give pur family financial freedom....well. All this company has done so far is put us in dept and tear our whole family apart.
Job well done prime!!!!!

The terminal is very nice they are pretty good programs just don't go work for BLC or any of their sister companies because they pay less than what prime does and if you work for one of our sister companies you have to wait 6 months of being unemployed before you can go back to work with Prime which I understand I take a lot of pride and how they service their customers and their drivers brand new bass in and out home of the $10 Truck Wash as long as you got a Prime trailer hooked to your truck they do an excellent job the new terminal has a hair salon Spa 24-hour cafe and tons of parking but if you do not work for Prime please don't go over to the terminal and try to park you are not a prime driver thank you have a nice day

If you are a experience driver DO NOT work for thi...

If you are a experience driver DO NOT work for this rookie driver's company. Prime will woo and aww you with all they have on site, but DON'T be fooled you the driver pay for all that. Prime has the most complex pay stub I've ever seen in my 24 years of trucking, they even have to give you a book to break it down. For example just one week pay stub is 16 pages and they charge for everything even though you communicate only by Qualcomm they still charge you $1.99 per week for phone calls that never took place. You times that by 5000 drivers that's $9950 per week Prime gets for free. So really think about your next move before you apply here .
