So fine I highly suggest this to anyone. From great views, the wells are all over there so fun to look at, lots of families, and great alcohol.
This was by far the best snorkeling tour. All the staff were very attentive and very helpful to everyone on the boat. The food and drinks were also really good. The captain is very knowledgeable of the ocean and islands. I felt safe being out in the ocean with my 7 year old son and wife because the staff was watching us and helping us navigate the waters. I recommend anyone looking for a snorkeling tour to give the Pride of Maui a shot, you will not regret it. Thank you Pride of Maui for making our vacation a memorable one!!
Great staff. Good pricing for the snubs and snorkel. The photographer made the trip. My husband was nervous about snubs and didn't go . I was told they would refund that portion that was extremely high co parked to a snorkel only. This didn't happen. My clams weren't returned. So just be wary. The photographer finally got my husband in the water and it turned out to be a OK day thanks to him.
We took a snorkeling trip on 8/22/18.
The weather was not very good, in fact there were Hurricane Lane warnings brewing.
The trip should have been cancelled...period, but it was not! Upon arriving to Molikini to snorkel, the site was extremely hazardous! Professionals would have said "NO WAY".
After being bashed around for 20 minutes, the Pride of Maui pulled up anchor. Quite a few passengers received cuts and bruises from trying to get aboard the boat!!
Next, the trip tried to go to another site, but the same happened.
On our voyage back to dock, it was announced that all would receive a partial refund!
We were instructed to contact the company. Only problem was it was usually a busy line or not answered..and leave message.
We still have not heard back from the Pride of Maui!
I give them less than a 2 rating bc of using POOR JUDGEMENT and caring more about the $$ than the safety and well-being of their passengers!
I loved snorkeling here! I saw so many amazing creatures. And I had an amazing free breakfast and lunch! This was so awesome!
Thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Pride of Maui! We liked the second stop with the turtles more than the first, but both were great and the water was clear. It's nice that they include breakfast and lunch. Don't put on too much sunscreen..a little goes a long way :)
Excellent staff, great snorkelling spot, and we got lucky enough to see a lot of whales!
Great snorkeling trip. Lots of fun. Staff was awesome, helpful, and professional. I'd do this again. Food and drink was plentiful
I have been coming to Maui Pride for over 18 years. I have gone on the snorkel cruise (both the morning and afternoon, but prefer morning), whale watching cruise, and the sunset cruise. Great boat, great crew, always a great time. Never disappointed. Usually, 2-3 trips per visit.
What a great trip! My wife and I enjoyed it. The staff worked hard to make it enjoyable.
Have done a tour to Molokini and turtle town. The boat is kinda crowded and I didn't like this. Aside from that , the tour is good as it gets you close to stuff.
Served grilled typed foods on the boat on the way back to shore. Solid but I hated the amount of people on the boat. It felt like sardines.
Great crew. Well organized. Would definitely do again.
Awesome tour agency. We did the turtle town tour and got to see one big turtle. But the best thing about the tour was the crew, they were really fun and professional at the same time. Highly recommend.
Excellent snorkel trip. The crew is very friendly and knowledgeable. The food and drinks are also a great perk.
Well worth the money. We did the sunset cruise. The food and drinks were great, everything being inclusive. The service by the crew was superb!
Today was by fat the worst snorkeling experience we have had in Maui. The crew was nice enough, and I know the captian can't control the weather; however, they can control where they go. This trip the captian chose to go to Molokini when the sea was far too rough. The swells were really big and half the boat was puking. They also chose to serve the food while leaving the crater in said huge swells which made impossible to eat. The second stop was much calmer and would have been better for everyone . Pretty much the whole boat was not having a good time. Two stars because to their credit, they did help tow a boat in distress during our trip.
This was such an amazing once in a lifetime experience! The crew was great, very safety conscious and professional!! The crew was amazing such great service. We did a ton of research for snorkeling, so glad we went! Don't go with any other company or crew in Maui!
Had an excellent snorkeling tour with Pride of Maui. The crew was knowledgeable and very open and eager to help anyone who had questions. It was a great experience for all of our first time snorkelers. The views underwater were also breathtaking, and the stop at turtle town had many of us within 15 feet of enormous sea turtles.
Excellent snorkeling tour. They served lunch and breakfast.
Awesome tour, friendly and professional staff, clear blue sky and waters. Served on the boat, lunch is phenomenal. HIGHLY recommended.
Well worth the money! Beautiful ride, beautiful sunset and they are not stingy with the food portions! Drinks were good too! A must do while in Maui!
One of the best sunset cruises. The crew is awesome and did a good job on there performances.
Staff was exceptional and friendly. The first part, snorkeling in the crater, was awesome. The second part, to see turtles, was ok. It was so crowded with other people on the tour it was hard to see stuff and swim around. Food was ok.
Anyone looking for a great snorkel adventure, call the Pride of Maui. Husband and I have a most awesome time. The crew was attentive to anything asked for. I LOVED the way they were paying such close attention to the environment. They had recycle bins, made sure and explain what not do to while snorkeling such as touching the fragile coral as it could collapse that part of the coral. Give the sea turtles room to be turtles. It was cool all around and would go back in a minute.
Used them for snorkeling trip and sunset cruise both were great. Got a bonus of seeing dolphins frolicking and whales. One more excursion with them next week for whale watching. I highly recommend these guys the crew is awesome.
We did the afternoon snorkeling tour. You don t need to get there super early or you will bake in the sun. Easy waiver to sign and lather up in sun screen they provide that is reef safe. You head directly to snorkeling area. We had snorkeled on a previous trip and learned to use the yellow waist floats if you don t plan to dive down. When you are in the water, put it over your hips and you will float perfectly. Camera rental is pricey but necessary. Food was burgers and dogs. Open limited bar after snorkeling on the way back to shore. Staff was great.
What an amazing day! The staff is kind and very helpful. Be prepared for fast-paced start and have your stuff all ready to go. Must upgrade to snuba. So much fun!
Amazing crew, very knowledgeable and organised. They new exactly where to snorkel to see the most! Good food, drinks and hospitality. Highly recommended.
These people are very professional and fun. You will enjoy every minute of your ride. One little issue with getting into the water if you have never snorkeled before. A little one on one in the water would have been cool. My mom who is 73 and in great shape totally needed better guidance.
Awesome booze cruise. James and laura the deck mates were super friendly. The ride was extremely rough due to the windy conditions in the area but the captain dod great making it a semi smooth ride and finding just the right spot to get out of the wond for a bit.
We did the molokini and turtle town snorkeling tour. We had a great time. The food was good, and the staff attempted to make sure everyone had a good time. When you get 100+ people in one place, there will always be some idiots in the crowd. You learn to deal with them, despite their stupid actions at the expense of other people's enjoyment. Unfortunately there were no tiger sharks ready to eat said idiots to make the rest of the passenger's days better.
Whale watching/snorkel trip (130 launch) was superb! Great snorkeling, crew, BBQ, whale watching, and drinks. And only $50 - worth double that, especially considering that boat trips closer to Kaanapali run $80 for just a 2 hour happy hour cruise. Will be back
Upbeat, friendly and professional staff greeted our family of 5 on a morning snorkeling excursion. Coffee was offered while checking in and after boarding along with muffins, croissants. breads, and more coffee, water and juice. Lunch, sodas and water provided between 1st & 2nd snorkeling locations was good, filling and kept simple. En route to Molokini Crater, Captain Jason introduced staff who explained safety info, offered tips and what to expect. He also provided info on the places we were visiting and seeing from the boat. The ride out and back was smooth and the weather (~85 degrees) and water (~72 degrees) were perfect. Snorkeling was enjoyable at both locations although we didn't see as many fish as I'd hoped. On way back, alcoholic beverages were also provided and atmosphere was light and relaxed. Overall it was a great experience and would highly recommend this company/excursion to others.
I am leaving a one star review because they told us that we should use their sunscreen as our own would damage the coral. We applied a lot of their sunscreen at the beginning of the trip and throughout the rest of the day we reapplied several times. We are completely burnt; their sunscreen did not work at all, and it is unpleasant because this was the first day of our vacation. If you go on any boat tours, I suggest that you use your own sunscreen.
Sometimes I wish there was a way I could rate places more than five stars. This is definitely one of those times. The crew are incredibly attentive and absolutely focused on ensuring everyone has an incredibly fun and safe voyage. I've gone on another snorkeling trip that I would say was absolutely five stars, but this was far better, from the incredible organization once on board, to the food, and definitely the crew, who were just absolutely incredible.
Just got back fantastic day whales, turtles and reef fish. What more can one want from a trip. Thanks Capt Tiffany and Crew
Paid $220 for the advertised Molokini Crater snorkel adventure but instead ended up pulling up to accessible shores on Maui that we could have gotten to ourselves. In fact, two of the places this expensive boat trip took us to were right off the shores where we were staying. They claimed it was too windy to take us to the crater but it was a clear, beautiful day. There s a disclaimer that they can change the trip due to weather conditions so you re basically at their mercy. $220 for hamburgers and a boat trip to the accessible main island shores was a scam. Pack yourself a picnic lunch, grab a mask, snorkel off shore and save yourself a few hundred dollars. Very disappointing experience.
The Molokini Crater and Turtle Town experience was phenomenal. I went with my family, including my 77 year old father. The crew went above and beyond, helping him into and out of the water. I highly recommend this to all ages!
We had an awesome experience doing the snorkelling tour. Especially the 2nd stop and snorkelling with the sea turtles was great. We saw several turtles under water and they came pretty close. In addition, the provided BBQ was tasty and beer and margaritas after the tour finished up this amazing trip. Highly recommended, super friendly and helpful staff and time just flew by.
Legit had a blast. Very helpful crew and great food/drinks
We have booked an excursion with this company. We rented wetsuits on the boat for $ 10 each. I gave my credit card to the representative. She didn t charge immediately. She kept my card to charge later. Twice I asked her to give me back the card, but she was too busy. She told me to come back later. We left, forgetting the card. Back at the hotel we immediately telephoned the company because they had charge and kept the card. They never found our credit card again and even accused us of having misplaced it ourselves. They were supposed to call back and no one did it. That was not professional. I now understand why they are the cheapest... it has been a lot of problems to canceled the card and have one back from my Canadian bank on vacation...
Lots of fun for an inexpensive price.Saw whales and snorkeled, fed good food, and relaxed in the Maui sun.
I would do this trip again if I could. The staff was fun and friendly but also very serious about their job and the safety of everybody on the boat. We had a great time at both locations. If the SNUBA option is in your budget, I cannot recommend it enough!
The crew was very friendly and the food was good, but for a snorkeling trip we did not see a variety of marine life. The first spot was Molikini crater and we saw one type of black fish there. The second spot was apparently the spot to see Sea turtles, but we didn't see any marine life. In my opinion it was because the snorkel areas were over crowded and our boat had over 140 snorkelers, which was one of many boats at the designated spots. (There were probably 300-400 snorkelers) I would recommend the cruise if you want a good meal and friendly staff and an introduction on how to snorkel. If you want to see diverse marine life I would recommend a smaller boat or simply snorkeling off the beach near a hotel. I saw many Sea turtles off the beach connected to my hotel.
Weather was a little rough and windy. Didn't get really close to whales, which is what we wanted. Great food, nice people.
Had a better snorkel trip right out from condo. Saw more fish and even numerous turtles on our own. Saw no turtles on boat trip. If a very rough boat ride (couple hours worth)and hanging out with over a hundred people (some rude) sounds enjoyable to you, then this might be your thing. Suggestion: save hundreds of $ and snorkel on your own. Very disapppointed with the money I spent and wasted time.
We did a sunset dinner cruise. Crew was great, and the food was quite good, especially the pork ribs. Open bar as well with great tenders. They didn t stuff too many people on board either. Views of whales in the distance.
We had a great time snorkeling. We saw lots of fish and a few turtles, which was amazing! Everyone on the boat was so, so friendly! Breakfast and lunch tasted great too. Well worth it!
Great service, their tips are very helpful especially for somebody going for snorkeling for the very first time. You feel safe because they pay attention to every single person.
Thank you for the incredible tour! We saw about 15-20 whales, simply magical. Plenty of room for all to see with two decks. Beautiful snorkeling amongst tons of fish and even saw a sea turtle. The crew were so friendly and knowledgeable. Not to be missed!
The lady on the parking was rude af. But she doesn't work for pride of maui. Amazing experience. Breakfast and lunch are included. The staff is very professional and kind. Recommend: motion sickness medicine, sun protect, hat, sunglasses
Our FAVORITE company for boat trips. We have taken many trips with them. Our favorite thing to do when we have guests is the AMAZING cocktail sunset cruise. Great crew, great food worth every penny. We have also done the snorkel/dive trips. Equally enjoyable.
Worst dinner cruise I have ever experienced and I have been on many in Cabo. The food was nothing authentically Hawaiian. You have to stand on a wildly moving boat to eat or sit with your plate in your lap. No tables. The alcohol was all the lowest quality available. None of it mattered though because we were too sea sick to ingest anything. All I can say positive is that the staff was very attentive and that gets one star. Too expensive for such a poor experience. I imagine that they may be good for a snorkel or whale watching tour but never again will we use them or recommend them for a dinner cruise.
On Feb. 27/15, My sister and I had a wonderful experience on The Pride of Maui. I am not a strong swimmer but was helped by The Captain and Amy to be able to experience Turtle Town. I am forever greatful for their helping me experience seeing the turtles and all that went with it! We saw a one in a million whale show while travelling to Molokini. It was breathtaking! Molokini was fun and We loved all of the sea urchins, coral, fish and the Mom and Baby whale that we saw there. All of the staff, the knowledge, caring and support as well as good food and a cold beer after snorkeling made for a memorable day. Many Thanks!!
Average dinner cruise. Actually disappointing, nothing exciting about the food. However the staff was great.
So amazing. I am so glad we picked this company. The length of the boat ride, the two places we stopped, and the food was so good. I was nervous how it would go to bring 9 month old, 2 ye old and 4 yr old- it was so easy and no big deal. We took turns snorkeling and the boat was so safe, no edges to fall off of. The kids loved the slide off the back of the boat and us adults had to try it too if course. And after our awesome day the icing on the cake was the spinner dolphins that followed our boat on the way back to shore. So beautiful.
Takaki was amazing on our journey, my girlfriend got extremely sea sick and Takako looked after her in every possible way. The trip was cool, manta rays and turtles and tons of cool fish. The whole crew was attentive and upbeat.
Excellent crew and tour experience to Molokini. The SnUBA instructor made the trip great, and the food and service were about average.
Whale watching and snorkle/SNUBA tour end of March 2017.
We couldn't figure out from the directions exactly where to catch the boat so we had to call. Check in was easy. They provide a really thick sunscreen, which was wonderful to protect our pale skin.
The boat took us not far from shore in a very pretty snorkeling area. Half my family went snorkeling and the other half learned to SNUBA. Everyone had a great time. After we got back on board, lunch was served - hamburgers, hotdogs, vegetables, drinks. Everything was really good.
During lunch, the captain took us over to where whales have been sighted, a mama and a baby and an escort. He kept us moving near the whales for probably 45 minutes. He also was good about pointing out where they were since we didn't know what to look for exactly.
I think what impressed me most was how incredibly helpful crew members were. They waited on those with mobility issues as well as help them move about the boat so they could see different things.
I wear glasses and was concerned about how to use snorkeling gear with my glasses. I had brought my prescription goggles with me just in case. However, this boat was so well-equipped that they had prescription snorkeling goggles that I could use.
As copied from Roger Green s post from 3 weeks ago. Our thought were spot on plus I added addition comment.
A pleasant dinner cruise, but recommend you find a different dinner cruise boat. The big negative was the lack of sit down dining tables. You have to lap your plate or stand at one of the limited number of very tiny stand up tables. Dining topside was nearly impossible due to the wind and the tendency of the plastic plate to blow off your lap. Fortunately our group/trip was very small at around 40 people. The boat maximum capacity was published at 149 so if it had been a full to capacity boat it would have been a truely miserable experience.
No luau decorations were presented as advertised and there was no true focus on the sunset which was a little disappointing though it was nice to see an unexpected whale and the Captain explaining the story of whales. In addition, It would have been nice to have a professional photographer on board to take pictures of couples with the sunset.
The captain was amazing as well as the three crew members. They deserve kudos plus a raise in salary. The performed exceptionally.
Best Maui, great value for what you pay. Worth doing more than once a day..
Was a realy nice trip. Everytime again
Mahalo
Perfect whale watching/snorkeling trip and a great deal with the open bar and generous lunch!
Great staff who are all super helpful and friendly! Scuba dive leader was really great and worked hard to make sure we knew the dive plan and found lots of marine life. Plenty of food and drinks. Really enjoyed our trip.
One of the best excursions on my trip to Maui. Our dive guide, Dylan was fabulous. It was my first dives after being certified and he was very helpful and took us to some great spots. The only downside was not being able to go to Turtle Town because of visibility but had an excellent 2 dives at the crater. Boat had a nice spread for breakfast and lunch. On the way back to shore, the captain slowed down for some whale watching. Highly recommend this for anyone, divers, snorkelers or even going along for a 5 hour boat ride.
What a great experience! We did a snuba tour at Molokini crater. Every staff member on the ship was top notch and very helpful! The food and drinks were great and obviously the snorkeling/snuba was some of the best in the world! Thank you Pride of Maui for a great time!
We couldn't find the site, called, not helpful and missed the boat. They did refund the cost so 3 stars. No sign or anything
Went on the Molokini Crater and snorkel trip... The view was awesome and the staff very nice and helpful..the "extras" like wet suits and pictures of you boarding are "cash only" so take a few bucks.. 10 for wet suits and 20 for picture of you before you get on the charter...Would of gave them five stars if not for not knowing about the cash only items.. Which no one bothers to mention! Food was good too! All in all a great trip and a wonderful experience! The crater was a once in a life time adventure although didn't see any turtles..but saw a huge stingray! Oh and bring extra cash for the tip at the end too!
My 2 teens and I took the afternoon snorkeling tour on July 27th. We could not have been more impressed by the whole experience. My kids both SNUBA dived and the instruction and attention they received was first class. The staff were super helpful in helping me find the correct prescription snorkeling mask and Ryan went above and beyond with assisting my son with a rented lighting rig and tips for our shiny new Go pro. The food was great too. Overall this trip was the most fun and best value of our whole trip...A+++
Always great loved the new menu except really missed the shrimp. The show is fantastic.
Not a good deal. We did not go to Molokini as planned due to north wind (completely understandable). But we also did not go to turtle town (south Maui) as advertised. Instead, we were taken to the immediate shoreline on the right (by the tunnel area) and snorkeled in the coral reef there. These areas can be accessed from the shore very easily. Do not recommend it at all (blame on us as well as we did not pay attention to the warnings posted on the best seller book "Maui Revealed" about the company). Certainly not what we expected for the price. Giving an extra star because the crew was amazing and very accommodating.
Awesome sunset cruise! We've done the Pride of Maui sunset cruise 6 times now and it just keeps getting better! Talk about the aloha spirit, the Pride of Maui rates #1 in that department. Not only do you get to watch a beautiful Maui sunset, but you also get to enjoy an incredible show of true Hawaiian hula and listen to music performed by top notch musicians. A delicious dinner buffet and drinks make the evening an unforgettable experience!! By far the best sunset cruise on Maui! Many mahalos to the captain and crew!!
The BEST Maui snorkel tour and whale watch company!
An absolutely brilliant trip snorkeling was fun, food was delicious, Molokini Crater is stunning. But hands down the best part was the crew Matt, Jason, Geoff, Lindsey, Takako, Katie, David, and Jordan were amazing. Our family group of nine had a great time! Thank you!
My favorite part of the trip! We had an awesome crew that played excellent music. We got to see whales and turtles while we were out. All you can eat food and drinks, you cant beat the price! Plus they have a professional photographer and scuba instructor.
