I walked in a little weary, this was an actual camera shop where they deal with pros and newbies every single day. As soon as I walked in I was a little overwhelmed by ALL the supplies! But I'm sure someone caught onto that fear I was helped within 5 minutes of walking in. I felt so comfortable talking with someone who knew what they were doing!

This place is HEAVEN! Tons of great gear, plus very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Can't recommend enough!

The young woman at the photo lab was amazing. She was not only kind but she explained the film developing process and walked me through the best and fastest way to develop my photos. The gentleman there was not so great. But the prints, although old, came out great. I appreciated the effort that was put into giving me a quality product. I will definitely be returning in the future!

If you're into photography and you live in Austin you probably already know Precision Camera. This place has everything you need with a staff that is knowledgeable and friendly. They offer everything from sales, rentals, knowledge, and when the world isn't under quarantine, classes. And it isn't just still photos, they have video cameras, lighting, lenses, printers, film, and probably more that I didn't see in the couple times I've been there. A fantastic pillar for the photography community.

Wonderful camera store with a huge selection of cameras. I was impressed with their section of Fugifilm items. Also was able to grab a few rolls of 35 mm black and white film for one of my older cameras. Knowledgeable and friendly staff are the icing on the cake.

Staff was helpful in finding what direction to go to as someone getting into digital photography.

Salesman was very knowledgeable about cameras. He was patient with my questions and took a lot of time with me. They had new cameras but had lots of used DSLRs also. I think I saved a bunch.

Bought many cameras, lenses, accessories here over 20 years. Prices are competitive with anything on the internet. Service is outstanding and very knowledgeable. You get to see and feel the equipment. Using a real store has saved me from buying cameras I thought I d like, but didn t work for me. And the few times I made a mistake with a purchase, returns were easy. Their expertise has saved me money & fixed my technical problems. Highly recommend!

In my experience, Precision's prices are the same as the big internet sellers. Their customer service is good, and while I'm not a pro, I appreciate how they support the Austin photography community.

Precision is my go to camera store. Their sales members are trustworthy and helpful, and always try to assist you with making informed decisions for your life. I ve traded in several pieces of equipment with them which has always gone well, and I ve purchased several used film cameras from them. The quality of their used products are great, and I love that I have a local place where I can go grab the equipment & accessories I need quickly, as opposed to the waiting time of an online order. I always know that Precision is taking care of me (and their other customers). Highly, highly recommend these guys!

They are very knowledgeable and helpful in finding what I need. I usually go to a special salesperson, but all of them can help. They use the "draw a number" to keep you in line for when you got there. So you can walk around looking at things and just listen for your number to be called.

I love this place. Genuinely love it. Staff is helpful, so helpful, no one is too sales-y, no one is pushy, and they seem to actually like when you come in with challenges or questions and need help coming up with a creative solution. I recently moved to Memphis, and not only is there nothing like Precision there, there s actually not a camera store... at all. I make it a point to stop by, shop here, rent from here, and give as much of my business to them when I am back in Austin as I have no other choice but the big online stores when I m not in Austin. I miss them so much!

I recently purchased a LUMIX point and shoot camera from Precision camera. I am so pleased that I chose a local store with real people close by to help me when I don t know how to do what I want to do on the camera. If the Internet stores offer service it is of little help, requires long waits on the phone and requires speaking to computers that never understand that. Not so with precision camera call and immediately talk with an expert and get your problem solved. Or better yet go into the store for quick expert eyes-to-eye help. I was recently on a trip to Canada and pushed buttons on my computer that got me something I could not get out of. I called Precision Camera while waiting in line for a tour bus. The fixed the problem before the bus arrived. I love Precision Camera. And BTW, the cost of the camera was the same as the Internet store!

Nikki Banda, Noel Rankin, and Rachel Haubert are the undisputed champs at this place. Endlessly accommodating and easily in the top most knowledgeable individuals at this store. They re the reason I come here!

Loved the customer service, they really know their stuff. I had a ton of questions and uncertain if I could even learn to use a camera. Well I walked out with a ton of resources, a long walk through and let's just say I felt confident! ;)

This is the place to go for anything photographic. Big store, has just about anything you need, and lots you don't, sales people are knowledgeable. You can get photos slides or negatives digitally scanned, prints made, buy equipment, supplies, cameras, lenses, used and new. I can't think of any reason why I would go anywhere else, except it is on Anderson Lane, a bit of a trek, if you live in south Austin. They also have classes; I haven't taken one yet. Also computers set up for customers to use, so you can tweak a photo on the spot, before you have it printed.

Precision Camera was always the go-to place in Austin for quality equipment, service, and developing (Back when developing was a consideration) in the old location at 38th and Lamar. The one down-side was that the store was fairly cramped for everything they did there. Now that they've moved to the new location on Anderson, they are still the great shop they've always been but now they really have the room to do it right. They've basically fixed the only drawback they had, and the result shines. It's a fantastic store and if you're a photographer you owe it to yourself to check it out.

I have been buying from Precision Camera for years, both new and used equipment, and they have been very helpful and encouraging to me in progressing with my photography hobby. Classes are excellent as well, and I bow to the expertise of Ian and Tamra. I forget my Lightroom instructor, but I learned more in that class than I imagined I would, including how to approach sorting, choosing, editing, etc. Precision Camera is a really helpful group of people with excellent products and prices. If you haven't experienced it, give them a try before ordering from some faceless online store.

Awesome post sale phone customer services. I purchased a used DSLR Kit from them, I was surprised to find the condition of the camera Central Camera in Chicago would rate it as Close to Mint. Minus the body cap, the neck strap and the manual this is a prestige body and lenses. Lenses had no UV protective filter but not needed. Lenses clean and sharp. I trust their inventory that I ordered a second item from them. I am sure it will be as accurate and awesome as my first purchase. Friendly on the phone, very happy to answer your questions and good post sale follow up. This is my CAMERA VENDOR for years to come. Buy with confidence

Great Customer Service! A very nice young lady name Sara helped me as I walked to the counter. She answered all of my questions and even said I made the right choice for choosing what I purchased. Price match suprised me! I wanted to support locally before I got a better deal anywhere else. I know for sure the next time I walk into the store for my next purchase, I'll be again, a happy customer!

My experience at Precision Camera has been fantastic. I recently purchased my first camera and Richard was very friendly, patient, and helpful. Upon getting home and doing some research, I found that the price on the camera had recently dropped and was actually cheaper for a new one than the price I had paid at Precision for the used one. When the sales manager Mike found out, I was immediately taken care of. A textbook example of stellar customer service. It won't be the last time I visit here.

I've been shopping at Precision since I first moved to Austin in the mid 90s. For the most part I've always had nice experiences there, but I shopped in the new south location today for the first time. Omar and Davren assisted me with my purchase and I can honestly say it might be the best customer service experience I've had there. Whether we are professionals or hobbyists, at the end of the day we are all enthusiasts, and we want the people selling us our gear to be as enthusiastic as we are. Tamra Green in particular has become my go to expert for advice and purchases. She is extremely knowledgeable and always helpful. I know I can trust her to provide honest answers to any of my photography related questions. She even contacts me to alert me when items we have discussed become available. I highly recommend Precision for anyone needing gear or advice, and Tamra in particular. She is a gem!

They re description of the lens condition was spot on and the price was in the mid-range of what I expected to pay (given the rarity and condition of this lens they could of asked for and gotten considerably more). Precision Camera on-line ordering was very simple with excellent communication from initial receipt of the order to carrier tracking. The lens arrived promptly in excellent packaging. I recently purchased a used medium format film camera from ebay, and they have been very helpful with picking film and answering questions about the format in general. While I do find that their prices don't really compete with say, Amazon, I have always been happy with the support I get from them. Highly recommended!
