Excellent event and the salon was enough for all the audience (+1100 persons) but little short in chairs
I had an excellent stay there. I will come back again.
Great aura, peaceful with just a hint of controlled chaos in the wings. Thank u for the experience :)
Very pleased with our stay. The room was clean, staff very friendly, and the pillows were excellent.
Amazing waterfront location with great views! The beds were comfortable, pillows were amazing. Only issue is the extra charges on my bill when I checked out that weren't mine!
Clean room, staff were hospitable, check in and check out was a breeze. Lunch at the hotel was scrumptious, you don't even need to get out of the hotel to grab a drink, they have a bar in-house. Overall, it was a pleasant stay at the hotel.
Very friendly and professional staffs. Checkin was quick despite the mix-up we had, and the rooms were clean and had a nice view of the waterfront.
Awesome location, clean rooms and hotel, friendly staff.
I attended a conference here. The facilities are great. However, the internet is unreliable which is unfortunate given that this was a working conference.
Had breakfast here and enjoyed our date. great food great place. brewed coffee was super nice not so strong and just the right blend. service was simple and friendly. seat yourself.
It's your normal hotel downtown. The downstairs event area gets hot very quickly, and feels pretty cramped for the amount of guests they typically have down there.
Very nice hotel and a good price. Everything was clean but, the room was really small. Walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants which was a plus.
Went here for a company luncheon. Food was well prepared and nicely presented.
Incredibly accommodating staff. Very fast valet, and very convenient location.
Stayed there for a bachelor party, it was a solid hotel. The drinks were pretty good.
Nice rooms. Extra HDMI port for my Roku. Fridge, but no freezer. Microwave wouldn't hurt. Pleasant, friendly staff. I'd recommend.
Nice downtown hotel with a good happy hour for guests. Close to the waterfront and psu.
Very nice place, and reasonable prices. The rooms are very modern.
We stayed overnight for a professional as well as a social event, they placed us on the 15th floor, it had an amazing view. The staff was very polite and accommodating, I'd definitely suggest this hotel to a friend.
Outstanding location and wonderful, friendly staff to go with it. Walkable to everything and you're right on the river. Ricky and Danielle are a great team there. Always my go to hotel when in Portland. View from my room!
Would never stay here again. Just weird, rooms had no seating, one day we had no wash cloths or hand towels, bed made with the sheet on top (we had an extra comforter. But I stiil want a sheet between me and the bottom comforter). Blood in the elevator. Room service screw ups. Just wouldn't stay there again.
Been working here for 10 years. Amazing workers front to back.
Honestly it's one of the nicer and safest places I've been in regards to hotel accommodations and bar events with friends. I've never had a bad experience and the staff are all kind and helpful. Above and beyond really!
Great staff, clean rooms and a short walk to the MAX and downtown sites.
Was okay. 3 out of 5 for service. They forgot to do our room the first day, so I called down and told them to do a turndown service as we would be gone in a hr. They sent one of their managers up and yelled at the non speaking English housekeeping staff to clean our room. She opened our room with us in it and gave us new towels and that was all. Also they didn't even ask If we wanted to Join Marriott rewards because we didn't book through them ? Servers didn't see us at 9 pm when it didn't seem that busy took 10 minutes before we got a menu.
Visited for work conference. Catered lunch and dinner were excellent, breakfast was ok. Find used for classes were fairly small. Banquet Halls were a good size with good presentation screens but oddly had camouflage pattern carpets. The staff was very friendly and helpful and all staff were informed in the conference so I didn't get any blank stares if I asked were something was. The room was great, well lit mirror, comfortable bed, internet TV and relaxing decorations.
Clean well modeled rooms. Great decor. Lobby and conference rooms are a bit small, but clean and well maintained.
Great hotel, great service, it's right across from the walking path that follows the waterfront. Beds are comfortable, and the restaurant is pretty good as well.
Great hotel. Newly remodeled rooms, great staff, fantastic fitness center and all my meals were very good. It has a beautiful lobby. Try to get a room with a water view we did and it was fabulous. They also have real balconies for fresh air. Highly recommend!
Great place in a nice location. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Staff very friendly and ready to help. Good food and service. Room a little small.
Awesome service, convenient location and priced fairly.
Lots of room lots of elevators. Great coffee shop. Is there a 25 unless they are ready for you. And I imagine if you have events that are bigger you could have different events in the same building 25 people pods? :-) and zoom with the other rooms haha and the Waterfront Park is across the street so you can all he's so silly distance while being physically distant:-)
Still a great hotel after all of these years with a view that can't be beat. Employees are very friendly and rooms are updated nicely.
Great breakfast, room was clean and well designed. There were a few things like wifi that I kind of expected to be free that weren't, but overall I enjoyed my stay.
Was here for a meeting - staff was nice.. food was good
Thanks for hosting the waterfront blues fest after hours party!
Prefer self parking which this hotel does not have.
Stayed in a two queen bed room overlooking the water on the 7th floor. The room was nice, and priced well. The only issue was when other people would close their doors, it was very loud in our room. There was no tv noise or other sound from other rooms otherwise.
Only valet parking is a big flaw...but otherwise stellar. Great service, solid concierge and conference accomodations.
Fantastic hotel, location and service! The M Club is special!
A nice place. Full service. Concierge is friendly. They went the extra mile to handle our extremely large whole hotel group one airplane load at a time. The were accommodating to our needs. They moved around the dining areas since the last time we were here, and added a coffee shop that is nice. I have been here every year for 14 years and it has always exceeded expectations.
I was lied to by the staff about the presence of federal officers at the hotel. Not only does the hotel value commerce more than the positive regard of the community, they lack the integrity to admit it.
Great customer service and views, I really enjoyed my time here.
Had a few drinks with friends. Good price for mildly strong drinks. Appetizers were great
Excellent location and courteous staff. Rooms are small and dated but clean and well kept.
Check in took a little bit, but I was offered water twice while waiting which was nice. Room was comfortable and clean. Weird sliding glass door for the bathroom which was a little awkward. Check out was simple and they kindly held on to our bags.
My loving boyfriend and I stayed here as a stay cation type trip for the two of us. We live in the area around Portland but enjoy spending time in downtown because of all the fun festivals and places to eat. We had never stayed at Marriott before we typically stay at other 4 or 5 star hotels. In comparison, the Marriott fell down so hard we are never coming back to this chain again. Our bed had DEAD BUGS in it and the pillow cases had the exoskeleton of some creepy crawly attached to it. When I called down to the front desk they said they we're going to send someone up immediately. I'm thinking they are going to send the head housekeeper. No, The Marriott thought sending a security guard would make us feel safer... On top of which he was very passive aggressive towards my boyfriend and I. He kept questioning us with "Are you sure those are bugs?" "Did you maybe bring them with you from outside?". It was like that for a full 5 minutes while we quickly re-packed our belongings. Marriott did move us to a new room... It was smaller then our old one, the view was the same but the bathroom was no bigger then a closet. Smallest bathroom I have ever seen in my life NA!
So, to close out my summary of the Marriott it goes like this: Poor Service, Poor Housekeeping, Bland food and way overpriced for all the "services" they claim to give their customers. Do yourself a favor and stay away!
River view rooms gives us awesome experience during morning sunrise
Great hotel! Great location and close to everything. The hotel staff was very welcoming. The customer service was Excellent! I would definitely stay again.
This is my family's go to hotel in Portland. The amenities are fantastic and the location is perfect. I highly recommend it!
Gorgeous if overlooking the waterfront. Busy intersections. Rooms are really clean
Friendly staff, clean room, free empanadas bc it was free empanada day. Stayed here twice and always a great stay!
Great location and friendly staff. The recent renovation looks fantastic and comfortable.
For the cost of parking and the hotel it wasn't as good as I was expecting. Mini fridge wasn't cold. No microwave. The vending machines only take $1s we ate at one of the restaurants/bar. Expensive food.
It was clean and the room we stayed in had a balcony over the waterfront. Convenient location near downtown. We checked in a little early and they were able to give us our room right away. Looked like there was a nice restaurant near the lobby but we didn't try it.
At first, I wasn't the most impressed with this location or the check in process. As a platinum member, I value customer service more than just about anything when choosing a hotel, and was not given a great check in experience. After staying for a few days, however, I became impressed with the staffs attentiveness, interactions and overall effort towards making my stay a great one. Their attitude at the front desk particularly was great :)
I loved my room. It's more spacious than the photos appear. The public areas are also very inviting. I've had one meal at our conference so far and it was just okay though.
Beautiful view of the river and a tastefully decorated hotel room. Felt like a real slice of Portland. I especially liked the wood slices on the wall!
Presentation rooms were stuffy, not enough pens or paper, and continental breakfast was just egg and sausage muffin sandwiches that were luke warm at best. The one redeeming factor was the quality of catered lunch, which was delicious on both days if the conference.
Generally found the hotel modern and comfortable. As I was staying in a club room, having the access to the club area throughout the day was a nice touch. Some rooms in this hotel have amazing views, however mine didn't, I really only got a view of the Crown Plaza and some TriMet trains. Room was small but modern, posh, and clean, and I generally didn't find anything wrong with the place. Would stay again, try to score a room facing the waterfront
Very friendly day service, immaculate rooms, the view in the room I stayed it was wonderful. The biggest problem is parking, it's valet only. There are near by parking structures which are much cheaper that you can use.
Not your typical Marriott. This place is fabulous. Clean, friendly and elegant!!
Great hotel with fantastic views and really reasonable rates. Nice club lounge as well.
Very nice. Great location, wo deffil staff and an overall pleasant experience. A few things to note are that: (1) the balconies are actually tiny ledges without seating; (2) room service ends at midnight and is not 24 hour; and (3) the gym has no pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, showers or even lockers - it's just a gym, though a nice one...
Excellent hotel for the money. Parking is expensive and the breakfast isn't included but rooms are nice and the view is great if you spend a little extra for the top floor.
Good hotel. Very close to the water. Cheap parking behind the property
Very nice property, friendly, attentive. Stayed their for our anniversary. Would definitely use again.
Work function, amenities were good, free Wi-Fi would have been nice...
it was beautiful and the staff seemed friendly but really all i needed was to use the bathroom (which was clean and gorgeous by the way).
Really not worth it, can get the same quality at a Best Western; along with a complimentary breakfast to boot! Staff are just as nice as anywhere else. The only real plus they have over other hotels are consistently working room keys.
It was ok. Didn't get the type if room we reserved months prior. Maids skipped cleaning rooms too. Not just ours. It was brought up in elevator conversation.
Gorgeous inside and the food was great. Right by the water, lots to do.
We really liked this hotel.... the place is open and clean, and the rooms are modern and spacious.
The bed, as in most Marriott hotels was very comfortable.
The little coffee shop there is also really nice, with a really nice lady working there, I wish I got her name so I could compliment her, asian lady.
It's close to everything really... on the river with a nice view of the river.
We are Marriott members, so we usually stay at Marriott, but this has been one of our favorites.
The Porter Portland is a great value when compared to similar hotels in the Portland area. It has clean and comfortable rooms, great ambiance, and fun amenities like a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room that are open until Midnight. You can use the TriMet to go all over Portland for $5 day.
Fabulous hotel. Stayed here in October 2016 for 40th anniversary. Stellar service and LOVE the M Club!
Very nice hotel. Great location. Right by the river. And close to everything downtown just a short walk and you are in the middle of town.
Not good service. Could not accommodate a group of our size. Put vegan and vegetarian food touching food with meat in it.
Terrible accommodations and the entire place reeks of pig
very nice and also the lounge is very tasty and good
Great hotel, staff was very attentive and helpful. The room itself was very nice and clean... New finishes and very well put together.
The only place I've stayed in Portland besides the Kennedy School.
Beautiful Marriott with a wonderful staff. Rooms are so comfy and welcoming. Staff at the front desk went out of the way to make me feel comfortable. And the view! Ask for a waterfront room for sure!
