I love this hotel when on a business trip. The lounge is great for breakfast and the staff are incredibly nice. The beds are super comfortable too. They have a great view of the river as well.
The most important Thing to me is the cleanness . the room was dirty. The toilet has brown stuff on it. The ac they have in the room is so old that I couldn t sleep of the noise it was making. And I couldn t turn it off because it was cold. The mattress is very old and not comfy. There is no complementary coffee in the room or a coffee machine. So I decided to leave the hotel and went to Duniway in downtown.... totally the opposite. Very clean n They went extra mile because of the Covid by sanitizing everything the room, sanitizing the coffee machine. Even there is machines in the hallways sanitizing the air. I think is very good hotel to stay . And Burley you can hear the central heating and cooling system in the room. I love it
Lots to see but watch out for locals, the city itself is pretty dark, has its demons that's for sure, the high prices are way outta range for lil Portland. Lot to explore down at the water just be careful. The hotel here is very clean, a lil higher end than some other Marriott locations but $50 a day to valet your car, that cost more than our rental car over days of our stay, wont be staying here again because of that. We noticed the hotel asks you to pass on having your towels replaced to "save on energy". Who recovers that cost and does not give it back to the customer? yeah the hotel
My car broke down and they were cool enough to let me park it there and get a tow truck
Comfortable rooms and excellent service. Location a bit far from Pearl District but fairly walkable.
Great location. If you are above the 10th floor, there is a pretty good room. The bar downstairs has some pretty great wiskey.
Nice clean hotel with a great location. They charge for Wifi but I told them I wasn't happy about it so they didn't charge me. There is an airport shuttle that costs $14 and it is run by an outside company. Try to get a room on the top floor overlooking the water. Overall great hotel, just a little pricey.
I will never stay in the Marriott because of their constant telemarketing.

I'm pretty sure it is a better place once the construction is finished. But they are doing a great job durring this
Horrible experience
Not professional when comes to informing you about the hotel reservations .
And they charged my card double for the reservation .
Great hotel, great location. Close to many good restaurants and bars. Find somewhere else to park though, several garages are closer and less expensive.
Comfortable rooms and nice neighborhood for a morning walk and a night life. I wish they could have served a complimentary breakfast.
Charming stretch of shops that have beautiful outside seating next to a view of the waterfront, evening time becomes particularly pleasant around this time of year with the outdoor lighting along the way and the warm night.
It can be difficult to find your destination on google, sometimes the destinations arent exact, but the journey there is pleasant enough that it isn't much trouble
I was here for APSE. There was plenty of space for the conference and each space felt great.
Everything was exceptional, sevice, food, room, bed, . M lounge had 24 hr snacks and a nice breakfast, plus you can order food from the bistro and eat it there. A little shocked at $42/day for parking. Does give you in/out privileges.
Great experience so far. Staff are very accomodating. They even had distilled water available for my cpap!
View is great. Room is ok. Location is close to my office
We received an upgrade to a riverview room. This turned out to be great as it also had an eastern view of Mt. Hood and it's beautiful sunrises. The room was as expected from a Marriott. Clean and spacious enough with two queens in it.
Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The staff was very accommodating and we even got a room upgrade when we mentioned that we were visiting Portland for the first time and that it was our 43rd anniversary!
Staff was great. Hotel is very clean. M Club was really nice.
It is a pretty old building and kind of small for a conference hotel. Overall, it was a good experience but not my favorite Marriott. They did have some unbelievable whiskey options at the hotel bar.
Beautiful hotel! Great location. Parking is only valet and is ridiculously expensive. Cheaper parking is available in the surrounding area.
Always clean restrooms very Uber
friendly
Located in a nice part of Portland within walking distance to a lot of cool places. Rooms are nice sized and the internet was good. The bar was busy and had some good happy hour specials.
Very pleasant and quite stay. Warm and welcoming staff.
Best view of the fireworks on 4th of July!!! And wonderful location.
Close to the water and my office. Comfortable rooms
This hotel has some of the best service I have ever encountered in a hotel. Staff members go above and beyond; they are friendly, helpful and even gave great recommendations about Portland as a whole! The hotel is clean and the food is great. If you stay here, you'll have a great experience.
Great hotel with nice staff very quick at all their tasks. Ate at the restaurant in the lobby they were very nice and the food was good too! Enjoyed my stay!
Staff was extremely friendly, great window view from 15th floor, clean, well maintained rooms. Perfect location for shopping, dining, and relaxing on waterfront.
Wonderful staff, beautiful hotel, comfy beds and a charming location in the heart of Portland
Great hotel by the water. Nice view from river side rooms.
Room on 14th floor has great view of Willamette river. It is a corner room with a somewhat diagonal layout. Well located for walks, biking , jogging and downtown activities. I enjoy this location.
no pool, and when I asked where to go eat, it was a VERY expensive restaurant so not what I was looking for. more set up for well off people, not a person there for a training.
Went for an after hours concert during the blues festival. Hotel was clean and the food and the lobby bar was fantastic. They even gave us to go cups for our drinks for the show downstairs.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The conference area was easy to access and all confined to a single area.
Attended the 2018 Western Psychological Association convention. Live in Corvallis, so I just drove up to attend the conference and didn't stay in the hotel. The layout was a little odd and difficult to navigate compared to other years' hotels, but it wasn't bad overall. I didn't eat or call on any services while I was there aside from the coffee shop, whose workers were courteous and diligent. Parking was pretty easy to find in the surrounding area and weekend rates were pretty cheap.
I love this place. The vip lounge was my favorite part.
My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the waterfront. The location can't be beat, it's located in the pearl district so it's in walking distance from powells books, voodoo doughnuts and Saturdays market.
Our nice (but small) room was affordable priced for student teams traveling to the annual seismic design competition. Guest service is fantastic.
Excellent customer service! And food is really good!
Good place to stay, around 100/200 $
The only bade thing was the check in, we arrived around 2:00 pm and they left us waiting till 3:30 for almost no reason till we started to complain and then we got the room
Just to be fair, they emailed us about the reservation telling it will be 4:00 pm but still other people got the same email went to their rooms earlier I guess, but anyways good hotel and may be that was mistake
The hotel is very nice and in a great location! The staff are very friendly and the Concierge lounge is fabulous.
Happy hour, wow. Great menu selections and actually great wine for $6. Also got a flute of Bourbons, oh yeah. Very fun night.
Hotel is super clean and nice, however they only have valet parking which is $39 a night. You can park for $19 a day down the street but you don't have in and out privelages. There are pictures of a pool but that is no longer there. And the max is about 6 blocks away, so if it is raining you have a long walk to the max.
The standard great quality of a Marriott, feels a bit smaller than others I've stayed at but is just a nice. Great location on the water front, short walk to downtown shopping and restaurants. Only downside I experienced with this location was a bizarrely long wait for the elevators every single time, but probably because we were there for a conference.
Its clean and the comfortable, just need a little more work on the bathrooms....
It was fine, but not great. Oddly, instead of a Duvet cover, the duvet had a fitted sheet on it, so it wasn't fully enclosed. Bed was comfy but pillows were small, soft, and lumpy. Small bathroom. Overall, just ok.
Very disappointed in this hotel. Booked late for an event (yes my fault) and had to pay 100.00 more. Only to find it on the Internet an hour later for 40.00 less than my booking. Called and they would not make adjustments. Now I suppose that a policy is a policy but Hilton would have given me an adjustment to the rate and not made me jump through the hoops to no avail. Not that this is a bad hotel but customer service levels dictate loyal returning customers.
Not about the price but certainly about the customer service.
Upscale hotel with that upscale hotel amenities and service. They only valet here. It's $44/night. We were given a room with the view of the roof. For a $400+ stay, I expected better. Definitely not The Grand America. Luckily our bellhop Jason was very helpful. He didn't make me feel like I had to tip. He was simply willing to help which earned him a tip in it of itself.
Amenities are ok and location is great but the rooms are pretty compact. And the bathroom doors are barn style and don't quite close all the way... now my S.O. and I have been together for long enough that I have no issues. However, new couples be warned that there is little privacy...lol
Very well appointed, friendly staff, great location
Great service, spacious and clean rooms, easy access to the city. If you have access to the club through Bonvoy, make sure to use it!
Great location. Nice people. Rooms are small but efficient use of space so it doesn't seem small. Room service is on the spot. Beds are good and the water view was pleasant this morning!
The rooms were clean and well kept. However, the bathroom doors have no lock and no exhaust vent. I find this a little strange in design. I barely had to interact with any staff, but the building seems very secure and safe, for a downtown hotel.
Nice. Bed are very comfrortable. Wife
Did not sleep that night. Hotel staff allow to check out later. Thznks
This is a very nice venue for or professional events. The service is great and the food is good as well.
Average stay at best. Hotel is fine and all, located in a good spot, staff is nice enough.
But we found a decent bit of trash on the floor of our room (water bottle caps and clothing tags as well as what I can only assume was cat littler, no idea why that was there) hopefully they vacuum your room. Also, we requested and early check-in which I understand can't always happen but its frustrating when you then get checked in late because a room isn't ready. Lastly, we requested extra pillows when we booked, they didn't leave them in the room but they did call and leave a message asking if we wanted the extra pillows and then they never brought them up. Wouldn't have cared as much if they didn't obviously have the requested note and they hadn't called asking and then didn't follow through.
Just less than was expected. So they get 2 stars.
Rooms are average. No work desk. Not much room to put away clothes. Wished the rooms were brighter. TV in this room does not tilt/swivel, so you can only view the TV comfortably from the bed (previous from did). I am not a fan of valet parking. I would rather park it myself and not have to deal with a process to get my car. Higher end restaurants within walking distance. Front side rooms have good view of river. M lounge attendants are awesome. Go see them if you can.
It s an upscale hotel, nice location, friendly staff. I particularly didn t like a few things: low water pressure, the sheets are too small for the bed and keep falling off, no continental breakfast, and there is loud construction right outside my window.
Nice hotel. The $37 parking fee is awful! It is far from the good food.
Great service, event rooms were comfot5and very clean
The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is the best!
Great friendly service, clean rooms and always ready to assist in any way they can. Across the street from the waterfront and shopping, running, biking or walking.
Well the exterior isn't much to look at, but the inside was nice. The ballrooms were spacious and well decorated. The staff was all very friendly as well.
The rooms have been remodeled, and location is very good. Unfortunately valet is very expensive and usually the only option for parking in this very congested area.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and modern.
Nice clean modern hotel with good service. Price is reasonable for what you get, so long as you don't want WiFi ($10/day for basic, or $15 for high speed).
Nice hotel, located right on River with view of Mt Hood
We went upstairs into a conference room on the second floor for the University of Hawaii acceptes student reception. Nice hotel, very well kept and clean.
Wonderful room with soft bed and very nice decor. Great location on waterfront.
Great hotel I just hate that there is no option to park your own car, you have to pay to valet. Or park down the road in a garage and walk in.
I has forgotten to grab a bottle of champagne to celebrate my moms birthday and the sweet concierge sent up a bottle with 3 glasses! What an amazing woman! So wonderful and accomodating! I forget her name but will have my family stay here whenever they are in town!
Pathetic service. Don't waste your money and time by staying here. No sound insulation and you feel like you are sleeping on a street.
Attending a conference. The staff have been great, from making sure to know how to pronounce my name and remembering to the concierge and staff arranging the rooms. Restaurants and gift shop have been great too.
A few minor issues with room cleanliness that aren't really worth complaining about by detract minorly from the stay. Was accommodated with early check in and the location is great.
It's beautiful there. I attended an event and it was well put together.
One of my favorite hotels! Very comfortable. Modern feel. And by far my favorite, if not the best, continental breakfasts ever!
Clean rooms, great tv, happy hour at bar, but a bit far from things
The WiFi was great, conference room was okay but there was not enough seating, food was good but not exciting (pasta, salad, soup). Staff were super friendly and welcoming.
Staff is nice and lobby looks nice those are about the only plusses.
Rooms are horribly small and overpriced, bathrooms are incredibly tiny. Found some dried boogers on the wall that were not cleaned and a bit of broken glass in the corner from a previous stay that had not been cleaned up. We don't have a minifridge WHATSOEVER but we do have a FLATSCREEN TV! Rooms look their aged and carpet is in DESPERATE need of repair.
The beds are comfortable for what little sleep I got the walls in the rooms with a shared door are paper thin and anyone doing anything louder then a low talk can be heard, did not get more than 3 hours of sleep my second night.
All in all if they were only charging $125 a night I would say maybe but for the rates they are charging and the lack of quality and room size there is NO WAY I would ever stay at this hotel again.
YMMV
Looking forward to the Marriott as an excellent venue for a Convention in 2019.
Friendly staff, lively bar. Nice lobby, rooms and club area. Smallish gym.
