Classic place without pretension - mixed crowd - great views - really enjoyed the piano player who played traditional bits and funny bits (Backstreet Boys) - food was okay - great happy hour prices on drinks. Julika, our waitress, was the stand out - she put up with tons of questions from us (visiting/new to Portland), took our picture AND THEN wrote a list of her favorite places across town for us. Amazing.

This is a great place to come and get a view of the city with great cocktails and decent food. Would have gotten 5 stars if they hadnt been on a late night menu when we showed up. I was really in the mood for sushi and had not eaten as much at the last tapas place because I had planned on eating here, but when we arrived they had just switched over to a late night menu which didnt have anything on it that I wanted. But the drinks were great, the view amazing and server was really good as well. So 4.5 stars! Maybe next time they will leave some sushi rolls on their late night menu...or the prawns...those are awesome!

The ambience was astounding given the tremendous view from the 30th floor. Along with the best view around we enjoyed the best cuisine we've experienced in Portland yet! Our waiter had impeccable timing and extensive knowledge of the menu items. We were very blessed with a fantastic evening

Great atmosphere, fantastic view, and delicious food. We enjoyed the piano player, our server was attentive, and the wagyu beef was absolutely delicious. My wife and I split the 18oz ribeye with asparagus and mashed potatoes. She had a caprisi salad and I had the ceasar. The malbec was a perfect pairing. We'll definitely be back.

Without a doubt, the best view in Portland. Make your reservation early to not be turned away at the door. This probably isn't the place you would think of to get great sushi, but we had a couple rolls as an appetizer and thought perhaps we had made a mistake in ordering anything off the main menu.

The lamb ribs were perfect and the service was adequate without being overbearing.

I would really give this place 3.5 stars if I could. The view is amazing, the sushi was the best I ever had, the drinks were made to perfection and they decorated our table for our anniversary. My disappointment comes from the steak and lobster, the main dish. Our steaks were mediocre at best. I have had a better steak at black Angus (Black Angus is amazing however a third of the price) my filet mignon tasted like a cheap $5 sirloin :( and my husband's steak, he had the rib eye was poorly executed too, the lobster was soft. A perfectly cooked lobster should be slightly firm. It was so soft we almost did not eat it. Those were the main dishes and on a $300 bill I expected to walk out of there completely wowed by the food. We might be back for the sushi, drinks and view however never the steaks and seafood which is crazy because this place is a grill this should be there best dishes.

I went there with my friend Mohammed , I had a rib eye steak and he had New York sirloin, it was delicious with nice skyline view and the staff were very helpful and polite. We wait approximately for 20-25 mins for our order so not too long to wait.
Al thought this restaurant It's a little bit expensive this is what one expect with high class fancy restaurant such as this.
I highly recommend any one to visit to enjoy the food & the view.

Fancy, and affordable during happy hour only. Sick view from 35 stories up. tallest building in Portland as of this moment, but with as many cranes that are building, I wonder if that will last....

Portland City Grill is a really nice place to eat. I have been here three times with my wife to celebrate important dates for us. But, today I felt that the server didn't really attend us and was a bit slow.

This is my first time do the Portland City Grill brunch and it was quite amazing! The food was excellent the service was a little spotty but the views are amazing I would tell anybody the $50 per person cost is worth it if you're trying to impress somebody the $13 bottomless mimosas are definitely worth the price.

This is basically another example of a restaurant that knows they have an amazing view, and therefore does little to stand out in any other arena. It feels old inside, outdated, and stuffy. The layout is strange, and when you walk out of the elevators into the restaurant, you have to walk through server stations. Also, a lot of servers and hostesses will ignore you when you walk in. You'll have to go to them to find out whether you can sit or not. The food and drinks are OK. I would not be happy if I paid full price, but for happy hour and a nice view, it's adequate. Our actual server was also really nice and very attentive. I would not ever call this a 'fine dining' establishment.

I think this place is overrated. The food is unspectacular and i think actually poor considering the price. I think most food carts in this city will give you a better meal. The view is nice but nothing all that special. The happy hour is a good deal and you should give it a try, but it tends to be rather busy.

Certainly, Portland City Grill has a bit of a corporate whiff to it, but don't be too quick to discount it. The views are stunning, even on a bad day (or, maybe, especially on a bad day). Much of the food in the restaurant is overpriced, although I have never found myself feeling that I didn't eat well. The deals in the bar are much better. there's still a lot of overpriced food, and the menu still leans towards a kind of New American /Fusion Asian ecclecticism that is sometimes a red flag for being cheated, but here usually works. The latest surprise: A jumbalaya that was on happy hour special and was outstanding at any price. Your best bet is to go during a happy hour on a day other than Thursday or Friday, when there is more room, and try random things on the happy hour menu, feeling your way around until you find what they make that you like best. Then there are the drinks, solid cocktails that are not quite in the craft cocktail world, but that are done extremely well, and are quite generous. Forget going to a McMenamins for cocktails, this is far better. And did I mention the view?

PCG has become our go to for special occasions. If you're looking for formal dining in Portland, this is for sure the spot. Its 30 stories up Big Pink with obvious unbeatable views. Be ready to spend. An average entree is $65 per person but will not disappoint.

If you're wanting to take in the view but dont want to spend too much, they have a magnificent bar and lounge with a pianist and happy hour!

I love PCG and have for many years. With that being said I recently went there for the first time in a while for happy hour, which has always stood out as an amazing value, and it is still to a degree, but I found myself feeling like this incredible venue's drink presentation was long over due for an over haul. The glassware felt very dated, the generic ice machine ice in the drinks left me underwhelmed with the drinks both from the happy hour menu as well as the premium cocktail menu. I will be going back, but I'm hoping by the time that I do they will have noticed this too.

Not a very good service, we waited so long to order food, get the check and take payment plus the waiter didn t check on us. Food is extremely expensive and not a lot of dinner options. The one good thing is the view that s all. Will not go back ever.

My husband and I chose Portland City Grill for a recent date night and we are so glad that we did! First of all, you won't find better service anywhere. The hostess and bar tender were professional and friendly. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive, made excellent recommendations for food and wine pairing, and was pleasurable to chat with. Secondly, the food is amazing. Best crab cakes anywhere. My husband enjoyed the salmon and I've never had a better rack of lamb. The creme brulee and sorbet trio were delicious also. Lastly, the ambiance was perfect for our date night. We waited for a window table and got to watch the Starlight parade, so that was exciting. Apart from that though, the dim lighting with candles had a classy and romantic feel. We can't wait to go back to try some of their other dishes and fabulous cocktails.

The view is great. Surprised the bartenders didn't have much knowledge on a lot of cocktails. They also needed more bar tools to execute the drinks. The service is always great and the steak was good. Definitely wasn't medium like I was told, but still good

Great view of Portland from every side of this restaurant on the 30th floor. Happy hour was great the first time I went. Descent drink prices and I believe there was specials on food as well. Went back the second time for dinner a few months later. The service was excellent. The waitstaff was very attentive, knowledgeable, personable and situationally aware. The prices were expensive, but I expected that. The Kung Pao calamari was excellent. The steaks, however, were not that great. They were cooked fine, just didn't have much flavor. I ordered the Wagyu sirloin and maybe that was the problem. I'm usually a rib eye guy so I guess I'll stick to what I know next time.

This restaurant is known for being on the 30th floor. It has the best views of the city. The food is pricey to match the occasions people celebrate when they eat there. From annivesaries to proms, depending on the year you will have people celebrating something at this restaurant. Note that their happy hour is great and a much different crowd. If you do happy hour, you are looking at a wonderful decent priced meal. If you are staying for dinner, you are paying for the view, the atmosphere and the event itself. Pick up a bottle of wine, while you're at it! Make a night of it when you go here.
