Fantastic up-scale dining in the heart of Portland. Breath taking views of the city scape, the Willamette river, and some of Portland's most iconic bridges. The food is expertly made and portioned. The flavours are amazing. For anyone visiting the city, highly recommend getting a reservation here one night.

Very good. The best burger I've eaten in the US, live music (a pianist note 10) is a prime view - on the thirtieth floor. I did not think it was just cool lighting (very dark) and the structure to accommodate so many people (the place is very frequented), they say to sit where we find a space ...

Love the food and the view. The staff have always been great but more recently I visited and the booth we sat in, in the bar, near the window in the right hand side by the two person red table in the corner, smelled very strongly of urine. The group I was with psyched ourselves into ignoring the scent but it made eating our food a less than enjoyable.

After finishing our meal, we decided it would be a good idea to let our waitress know. Not to complain, but to provide feedback, so that she could share our experience with her leadership team. She told us, other patrons had mentioned the same thing and suggested we let the manager know. We hesitated but agreed.

When the manager came to the table, he acted oddly. He avoided eye contact and awkwardly paced back and forth, assuring us the smell was not urine and asked if we needed parking validated. When we told him we did not drive in, he proceeded to reiterate that if we should ever drive to the restaurant, that there was parking in the basement. He then asked if there was anything else he could help with at which we said there wasn't. He abruptly walked away.

We left satisfied with the meals but felt strongly that the smell was definitely urine. It smelled really really bad. I have NEVER smelled that in Portland City Grill before. It smelled like the Max train station at Union Station. Like a homeless campsite.

This is an amazing place to dine. The food was excellent. The view of the river was breathtaking and the vibe was outstanding! I had the best birthday dinner ever! With the love of my life.

This place has one of the best happy hours in the city. All believe the happy hour is all day on Sunday.

This place is on the 30th floor. Great rooftop bar. They had a live piano player on a Saturday afternoon.

The views from here are amazing. They have plenty of TVs to watch the game.

The bar area/right room is all open seating. The back area is reserved seating.

The food during happy hour is amazing. The drinks are strong and the fish and chips are a good snack.

Nice place with an amazing view of the city. It's a little spendy. but very nice. I try to come here during happy hour so that I can get value out of my meal. It's nice & trendy. Service was great. Will come again when I'm in the area.

Beautiful views, nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. We tried the crab cakes (almost all crab), seafood soup, a sushi roll, and the fried tofu with vegetables. Everything was delicious. The staff was also very accommodating with a tree nut allergy. We were expecting a sub-par food experience with nice views and were pleasantly surprised with all aspects of the restaurant!

Great view - I'd only go for happy hour as it is expensive. The atmosphere is a bit stuffy however being Portland its unlikely you'll be turned away or even given a disapproving look if you deviate in style from what the place is going for. Great view aside I never care to come back during non-happy (sad) hours. The food just cost too much for the dining experience in my view.

Nice place

I ve been coming to PCG on my birthday annually since I was young, and in years past visited far more often. HH is 5-7PM and 9PM-Close. Dinner and Sunday brunch here are also fantastic. Overall for location (VIEW!) and menu, you get a decent value. Just decent though not as good a value as it was 2+ years ago, and not the best food or drinks in town for the price. Also the servers have nearly always fumbled the billing in some way. Several years ago they stepped their HH game up to remain competitive because the view alone isn t enough to attract people more than once or twice per year; I hope they get with it and step up again.

Love this place, it's a great place to take friends (from out of state) to have a great view of the city, plus happy hour has want I look for in a bar. Service is great and they have always good selection of beer

Don't order the sushi, unless you need a good cleaning out! Went in for lunch on a Monday. Sushi obviously was not fresh, but I didn't listen to my gut feeling. Needless to say I paid a price . Granted fresh fish is expensive, but if you can't afford it, then take it off the menu!

i think of the portland city grill as one of those specific portland adventures you go on when friends come to town or if you're on a date with a new fella and you want to do a bunch of fun things over the course of an evening. think, perfect 1st date if the portland city grill is part of a list including the barcade and the swifts at sunset.

this is because it's not a place i'm going to go frequently. it's a little expensive, and hard to get seated in the locations that make it worth it... THAT said, it is about the adventure. in a sleepy little city like portland there's an excitement to going downtown, finding the elevators and buzzing to the top of the tallest building in the city. coming out into a scene from the 1980's pretty woman or ferris bueller. live piano music blares over conversation on that side of the bar, but it's amazing. you troll around the loop searching for a window seat. you prey on poor souls who look like they just miiight be leaving soon. but the payoff is big. you get to sit at window level above the entire city with a view that is to die for. classy drinks and surprisingly nice servers for such a nice place and for portland. we are known for our food, not our customer service here.

so i would say this is easily a 4 to 5 star establishment but 3 stars still rates in at "A-OK" which is what this place is for special occasions.
my advice here is to go for early or super late happy hour to make the menu affordable and the chances of getting a prime seat. take a date, have fun and enjoy the adventure that is the portland city grill!

go explore portlanders!

You go for the view and the ambiance, the food is alright but nothing outstanding. I have been here multiple times and with a bill of $200 plus but not loving my food, I much prefer Jake's grill/seafood for am overall amazing experience plus food is consistent.

Boyfriend and I stopped in and had a light lunch. Love the candied hazelnut gorgonzola apple salad.. And the strawberry rhubarb cider was tasty.. The duck fat French fries were so good we forgot to take pictures of those. The pcg burger was big enough to share..Always love the view

I went to this restaurant years ago and it was spectacular. The food was delicious and the flavors just melted in your mouth. I enjoyed the view and the service from the wait staff. I will be going again very soon. The food is definitely worth the price.

Came here for a fancy anniversary night with my husband, sadly disappointed. Felt very rushed the entire time and our server was not personable at all, he made us feel out of place and like a burden to him. Seemed robotic. Food was good I guess but we took most of it to go as the table next to us was extremely loud and fighting at the table.

Strange & bad experience, won't ever be back.
