I originally had an issue with delivery to my uncle who lives in a nursing home which is an hour away from my home. I would, in nonCOVID times bring him home made food or order food for him and take it to him when we visited. I ordered from the Portillo s in the same town as the nursing home to be delivered. I didn t realize that even using the restaurant phone number and prompts,or their app you can still be directed to door dash, even though Portillo s has its own delivery drivers. I didn t find out about the issue until a week later. I would much rather have the restaurant the food comes from deliver if available than door dash. Honestly, I feel there is an issue 75% of the time with door dash. There was no name on the receipt order via door dash, even though his name and room number is included with the address in my app. I called the restaurant and the MANAGER PAUL was extremely helpful. He apologized, and it was very sincere. He related a story about his family member in a nursing home so I know he really felt my frustration. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND what I expected when I made the call. He is truly passionate about his job and making it right for the customer. Thank you Paul for all your help and understanding. Hint to those ordering for delivery. Call the restaurant and speak to a team member at the restaurant.

Great family place! The kids love it! If you do the survey on the receipt you get a free large fry that can be substituted for a piece of their famous chocolate cake.

Portillo's has the best Beef Sandwiches around. It also has a great atmosphere, and great customer service.

Busy place,food is really good,staff very friendly and helpful,watch out for idiots driving in parking lot when it's dark outside

Ordered online for pickup. The portillos workers made everything fast, easy, and very pleasant. We received our order within 2 minutes ofentering the lot. Everything was hot and fresh the way we ordered it. We were missing napkins which they quickly provided. Considering how the place was jumping it was such a small oversight that they immediately fixed.

Good food, we had a big order, it took a little longer than others but still very fast service.

The beef sandwich is good. But Not what it used to be. It s smaller.

Burgers are charbroiled and the fries are pretty good.

They have the best food & the chocolate cake shake is a MUST for any newbies!!!

Waited 45 minutes for food,of course it was cold,managers on duty didn't seem to care,one star only because can not give a zero

Just what you'd expect from a Portillos - great food and can handle a lot of people. They also serve alcohol and deliver with GrubHub.

Absolutely delicious! Usually very busy/crowded which isn't a big deal as long as you aren't in a hurry. Cool decor and atmosphere. Definitely not a quiet place! Slightly expensive, but worth it.

Twenty minutes in the drive thru? Are they peeling the potatoes for the fries or slaughtering the cattle for the beef. Inconceivable!

This location is huge. I bet they can accommodate 250 people inside. I went on a Sunday morning, it's was jam packed. I was able to order and be eating in on 6 minutes. Next time I gotta try the Italian beef it's looks wonderful.

Crowded, Noisy, Poor Seating, Overpriced. Won't be back.

Always busy but they move the lines pretty fast. Cool interior, lots of space to sit.
Not a 5 star just because there were a few times my order was slightly wrong.
Not enough for me to really care personally, but of course its not what I ordered.
Had I had major allergies it would probably be an issue, thankfully that's not the case for me.

We love Portillo's. It's usually clean, with good service, and great food. The last two times we've been in there the tables AND the chairs have been so greasy or outright dirty you don't want to sit. It's disappointing.

The food is great but going thru the drive thru is crazy. Parking lot is too small.

Not cheap, but worth it. What a dog should be. The food is great. Save room for cake

I don't understand how hard it is to get an order correct.

I handed them a list and still wrong!

1 missed 1 lg cheese fry
2 missed 1 small fry
3 had 2 salads on the receipt but they tried to not give me the salads at
4 missed the chicken tenders on the list.
Terrible. 90% of the time things are missed. I don't get it!

Waited for over 20 minutes for our food after the order was taken. After finally receiving the order it was wrong.

A welcome addition to your fast food choices in Rockford. I talked about opening a franchise here but someone beat me to it. Favorite Fast Food Choice for me.

Good food, lousy location and design. Should have used vacant building near Showplace 16.

This is the best place to go for a Chicago dog. Tables go fast at dinner time so try to have someone get a table while the other stands in line to place order.

Food was five stars, service was just a tad slow. It was later in the evening and there were very few customers, but the dining room was still somewhat dirty from the dinner rush. Would have given 5 starts overall if more than one employee was cleaning.

Greatest double cheeseburger in the area among other things.

Love love love this place. I eat it every other day the whole week i am there on vacation. I take 3lbs back to N.C. on the plane. I have the beef juicy with mozzarella and sweet peppers, fries and drink

Best beef combo around. And the chocolate cake is yummy. Not as fancy as the ones in the burbs but still has a lot of cool decent decorations . Orders are not always right in the drive thru so check your order. Even so this place helped make Rockford a better place. My son and his family all enjoyed eating here.

That was two years ago and the reason is it's not what they said it was

Very good food as always but i payed for my big beef to be dipped and had no chedder cheese that i also payed for that. Great sandwich but could have been better. Living accross town from this store i decided to post here rather than spend my gas money to go back and fix the sandwich. Thanks

This wouldn't be my number one choice although it does seem like it's very popular and it is fairly good

Disappointed. The chicken tenders were tough and had an after taste. Soup was great but they had no crackers. Another employee overheard the conversation and kindly brought croutons and a roll. Very sweet.

Loved the retro atmosphere.. Although it was busy, I did receive my food in a timely manner.

Always the best all the way around. Outstanding food. Fast friendly service. Even at peak times Portillo's knows how to come through with superbly organized drive through. Your only problem is deciding what to order.

Very good food and service way above the fast food experience.

We prefer the Crystal Lake Portillo's. It's larger and has real silverware. The food seems better there too. Oh yes, more parking there too. It seems that the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich should be removed from the menu due to it is inconsistenly made. This time I had two small pieces of mushroom. If a guy ordered a burger and got two small pieces of meat he would never return to your restaurant. The 2nd thing is sometimes the sandwich is greasy. This time it wasn't too greasy. The 3rd concern was the bun was overcooked. It was crunchy around the edges. Plus, the family sitting next to us didn't receive part of their order. Good Grief! I don't see this problem at the Crystal Lake restaurant. You need to step it up!

Love this place I come for the Titan beef the Chicago hot dog and definitely the cake shake every time I come here
