Four stars for good food one star for poor service they never get your order right

We go to Portillo's and I always order a salad... same thing every time. Went there today and was told they do not have iceberg lettuce and never have. Told the guy that I ordered a salad from there 2 days ago like I normally order it and they had iceberg lettuce. Not sure if he didn't understand what I was asking for or not. Regardless, I wasn't able to order my salad.... guess I can't go back there

My family and I go here all the time, great comfort food. I have yet to have anything I didn't like and if you like salads they have a good selection. The chocolate cake is very good and is so rich a couple bites is all it takes to satisfy, strawberry short cake is also very good. They have call ahead take out and a drive through which makes for quick service, highly recommend a visit if you have never been there

I think they've changed the lettuce in the salads it has that preservative taste like Taco Bell has. Portions aren't as good as Elgin and the food doesn't taste as good as Elgin

I had the worst chillidog ever; the casing was though; real hard! The chilli was terrible tasting yuck!

The best as always. I love my Chicago dogs and dipped large talian beef can't go wrong. We also love the cake shake.

Waiting in line for good food. What can you do. Slower than the rest, but they're still new and this is Rockford.

Never order from the drive-thru. They screw up everything.

The food here never disappoints. I had the beef and cheese croissant with hot peppers. Actually I didn't get very much cheese on it but it was still amazing. Strawberry shortcake was dessert. Indulgence at its finest

Been there a couple of times already and I have enjoyed their Italian beef. It s not fatty like some places. The few times I ve been in there drive thru, they ve gotten something wrong. It s probably because there s too many people working on the drive thru orders. So last time I went in and it was really nice. It was clean and we sat down to enjoy our Chicago style hot dogs with cheese fries and Italian beef.

Best fast foo ever !!! Never going to McDonalds ever again. This is my fast food resturant !!!

The food was fine, but they need to train some of their younger staff to stop rolling their eyes at customers when they make a request. I had it happen to me twice tonight.

Service has declined, portions have shrank, and the last time there they didn't even melt the cheese onto Italian beef there was just a handful of mozzarella on 4 sandwiches.

Lack of hygiene, 20 minutes of waiting for 2 hot dogs of poor quality for the price.

This place was fantastic. They and servers out taking your order and then handing it to you. Fast, cheap and beautiful.

Nothing like the Maxwell Street Polish...best in Rockford hands down...and the chocolate cake is from heaven... delicious

Order was not to have peppers on it, they made a new sandwich for me and delivered it within ten minutes. And then didn't even charge any.

Takes a bit to get your food hot dogs seems to be squashed at times and employees seem overworked while the others slack off

Chicago style hotdogs are average, burgers taste like burger king and the Italian beef is good but was doused with a bit much ajus. Chocolate cake is fire ... I still love this place

Best hot dogs in America, hands-down. Always a good experience, great service, even in the drive thru. Root beer is great, I always go for the chili-cheese dogs with onions. Major goodness. I really like the big french fries as well. One of these days I'll expand my horizons and try a burger!

I was raised on Portillio's so finally having one here is fantastic. Almost everything on the main menu is a greasy beef and sausage concoction (which is their greatest strength) but they do offer great salads for the faint of heart. Get a chocolate cake shake regardless of what you order.

Its Portillos, alright. They usually under cook their fries and even being asked for replacement, we get undercooked fries. Everything else is on-point tho

It was a very clean inside and the bathrooms were also clean. Very nice staff and the food is amazing!

Be prepared for long lines during normal Rush Hour meal times. Always check your items before you leave the window. Unfortunately every time I have gone to this location something was missing or wrong on the order. Always check before pulling away

Some of their items are very good other's mediocre. The drive-thru line is crazy busy but they get you through pretty quickly.

I've never been in a restaurant quite like this one. I'm guessing this a midwestern restaurant because I've never seen any of these out west. The atmosphere is busy and loud, but very fun. It feels like you're in a big city market place when you walk through the doors. There are tons of different food options including a variety of sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, burgers, and desserts. If I lived closer to one of these restaurants I would definitely return on a regular basis.

Chili dogs are great, fries are even better and chocolate cake shake is heaven in a cup

Some wait at time but for the amount of volume that goes through there I'm still always satisfied.

Delicious food, excellent prices, excellent service. I recommend their chocolate cake slice (it's worth the price), as well as their large fry with cheese! One of my favorite places in Rockford.

The food was awesome the staff was kind and the service was fast.

Good food. I get the beef sandwich at the Rockford location but recommend Tom and Jerrys which is right over by St Anthony's Hospital. Those beefs are excellent.

This is THE place for a Chicago style Italian beef. Get it with the cheese fries, and finish your meal with the delicious chocolate cake, and you're in hog heaven!

This is a great establishment that served me well. My 10 year old son found a remote in the men s restroom and was rewarded with a piece of chocolate cake and it made his day thanks to the Portillos Rockford location crew. Mike the older gentlemen was a huge help in getting our big order correct. I will always come here whenever I m in the area. Mike has a great employee.

Excellent food and friendly staff. A little higher in price but you get alot of food for the price and it is made your way.

Everybody thinks they're a food critic now a days. Point blank simple, drive thru is busy on weekdays, inside is always busy though the atmosphere is awesome and usually aren't waiting for your food longer than 8minutes, which is worth it because the food is amazing and I'm usually waiting longer when I go to Mcdonalds or any other typical food chain. The food is delicious. I promise you'll love it.

As always, the Italian beef sandwich is so delicious. Every time we come back to US, we visit Portillo s in our area. I love their ribs too!

Portillos is the best. We need one in Kalamazoo MI. Italian beef is so good.

Disappointment to the chain.

Dec. 2020 update: just go to Chicago and the suburbs for Portillo s. This place only filled half the bread with meat, the cheese covered about 1/3 of the Italian beef. They didn t even dip it as a instructed, and they didn t cut it in half as instructed.



I ve been to the Chicagoland locations before coming to Rockford. So happy there s finally a location here! I m not the biggest fan of the other chain restaurants. BUT the portions in the Italian Beefs recently changed.

I ll still return, but with a little resentment.

We ve been able to redeem the chocolate cake for birthdays, so remember to sign up for the birthday club. :)

The food here is really good but sometimes the customer service is lacking.

Everything is just how it's supposed to be done! The Italian beef/Italian sausage combo with hot giardinaire is perfection! Fugetaboutit!

Fast curbside service. I ordered fresh tomatoes on a Polish sausage...the sausage hung out of the bun pony both ends, but the two thin slices from a very small tomato were a big disapointment! My companion's chocolate shake was super, though!

One & done. . Over priced and nothing special unless you want mass confusion.

Pretty clean place with excellent food!

Great place to eat. Cake shakes are awesome. It can be a bit of a wait, though.

Great Italian Beef! Kind of an odd drive through with people standing outside taking your order but they never get it wrong and are always friendly.

The website shows various pastas however Rockford location has none of them none of the good ones anyway

My fries were cold. I went through drive thru, and the helper went to his car while working.
