Reserve or maybe wait / come back is worth !!!! The food was great and overall not just a restaurant visit, but an experience. The owner is totally warm, attentive. The mood is relaxed and you feel super comfortable and welcome. The quality of the products is excellent and you can watch as not even two meters further on about 1qm kitchen is magic.
A truly exceptional meal with a perfect wine selection. I wish I could dine here every night.
Great find tucked away in the back streets above the Ribiera- tiny place with only six tables and the kitchen right you (a fascinating way to see your meal being prepared while you eat). The owner is welcoming and charismatic, and the food was fantastic- great value for money with a three course meal for two under 50. Definitely book ahead of time , do not miss out on this place.

Porta 4 was one of the best local experiences in Porto. Cozy homie little restaurant with great service and really good vibes! The food was delicious and the host was really friendly and entertaining. In every bite we felt the local ingredients and every sip of wine heavenly. Value for money was also super worth it. I wish we could ve stayed a few more nights in Porto just to eat here a few more times!

Great! Fantastic food - great flavor, freshness of ingredients, perfect combination of flavors! Very friendly and kids friendly, however for the next one I would like to go without the child to enjoy this gastronomic experience better :) The space is small, but cozy. I recommend!
I can only highly recommend! A small restaurant with very friendly staff. The food is delicious and in the Chefs menu also a lot for a low price. However, you should definitely reserve, otherwise you definitely will not get a seat.

Small but cozy place, well furnished, excellent food thanks to the chef's imagination you can eat very special and refined dishes, all enlivened by the sympathy of the waiter, excellent prices especially referring to the quantity and quality of the products.
Wouldn t have posted this but felt really embarrassed after all. Went in to get a dessert to go because I did really enjoy it a couple days before when I had the chef s menu. The couple serving us was really kind but this time the younger waiter was being rude telling me that dessert is for customers only . Yeah I m not being a customer paying for dessert that would probably get thrown away at the end of the day. People were staring at me like I was a dog begging for food. Rude customer service not coming again. Sad because the food was quite good.

Coasy place located in Porto old city. Went in a rainy day to look for a place to dine and found a kitchen with a virtuous shef. Seems that the shef inspiration is so great that dishes tend to change every 3 month. Gnoki was very soft with artishock and pesto. Marinated Tuna fish on sweet potato, tender. Main dishes around 9EUR.
A place ran by 2 brothers with incredible food and vibe. The place is very small, a kitchen and 5 tables, so book in advance.

But that's what makes the restaurant so special! It is a real insider tip. The two who operate it are terrific. He knows his way around wine, so definitely try it! From our one glass were also fast 2 and for home, we have also taken a bottle.

To put it simply, this really sounds like a little tourist scam.
The dishes are not bad (but not extraordinary either), the welcome is friendly and the owner is very enterprising about the wine ("be quiet, I know wine well, I do my business".) Not wary, because Portugal does not is not customary because we let ourselves be carried away by the chef's advice. We ask him for white, he serves us red why not. The wine is not bad; neither does the second glass (it is important to note that wine prices are nowhere posted at this point.) The meal ends sadly enough on two very low quality desserts (to be polite.) And finally comes the bill and the price of two glasses of wine: 10 Euros. That is two and a half times the average price of what we have found so far in this country. Really, I do not recommend.
You got to go here!! Went there in Sept. 2019. Only 4 tables and you need to call early for reservation but it is worth it. Very intimate feel and server was so nice. We were lucky to sit right next to the owner/chef and he chatted with us all through the dinner. The food in so good.
The restaurant is very small. Can you 4 or 5 tables. The food is prepared in the same room, very close to the customers. The service is very friendly. The menu is relatively short with 3 starters, 3 meat dishes and 3 fish dishes. The goal is to share the dishes.
I really enjoyed the fish dish and the entree. The beef dish, veal, was medium. The meat a bit hard.
We drank wine. We paid 25 per person.

Eat tuna tataki The best taste in Portugal. We enjoyed chef course from 7:30 to 9:30. This is a very good choice. Very fantastic taste from starter to dessert. The owner is very pleasantly friendly. Unfortunately what was the last day in Porto. Simply call the reservation required.

Very small (but perfectly formed) restaurant with excellent food. It sits about 14 total, so well worth booking in advance. The pork belly was excellent and the desserts are out of this world!
The wine list is also really good, and the waiting staff's recommendations are well worth listening to. Their Alvarinhos were good, in particular.

The best dinner in Porto. The great hospitality of Diogo combined with the super tasting menu of a great chef. All surrounded with a 10 seats location you can find only in Japan. The dinner you never expect.

Had to wait for 30 mins outside the restaurant and after all despite we were the first people to book and arrive, we got the worst table. We didnt order the chefs menu because we werent that hungry .We ordered two dishes and wine and water. After 15 mins we didnt even get served by a glass of water while all the others were served by wine, starter, water and we were only sitting and waiting. We decided finally to get up and cancel our order and go..The service is the most terrible service ive ever experienced in all my travellings around the world.

Delicious curry, tender octopus, awesome pork cheeks, it's a no-fault, beautifully presented! The boss and the waitress very cool and smiling, (+ polyglotes!) 14 covered, to think to reserve?

Amazing experience. The place is small, only for 14 people in 3 shifts. (A time for lunch and 2 for dinner). You have to make a reservation. The service is very pleasant and receptive. The host goes on to explain the dishes to be served, always with some extra and important information, while the Chef prepares the dishes. You can choose the duck menu or go tasting menu. All accompanied by great wines.

Hands down the best and most authentic dining experience in Porto. My husband and I happened upon this restaurant and were lucky to get a table without a reservation at 11pm on a Saturday evening. The staff of two (chef and waiter) were kind and recommended great dishes. You will be blown away by the quality and prices of their dishes. And the best part, you get to watch the chef cook your food right there in the one room restaurant! A must visit when in Porto.

At Porta 4, you are treated very well, right from the entrance. Diogo receives in a friendly and humorous way. The place is warm and cozy, the food is first class. quality, as well as wines, indicated with Diogo's endorsement. Ricardo and Sara are great chefs. We had dinner there. The restaurant is small and before dinner all the tables are explained the menu and the procedure. The dishes are meant for sharing. The food and the wines were great and typically Portuguese. The staff was very entertaining and attentive, which made the mood easy. I can highly recommend.

Remember to book a table, there is room for approx. 16 guests.

Excellent! Not to miss. 10 seats and a mini-kitchen open to the room. Everything is cooked live. Quality products and a real know-how in cooking. Wine and port selected by the chef at local producers. Meat and fish but nice vegetarian options. Bravo!
I do not recommend this place, only fresh starters, all dishes prepared from boxes or dishes made it is not known when, we sat disappointed in an open kitchen without fire, a nice cook without a real pan, you can say kitchen help, so where was the real chef? It is not known, maybe he hid his recipes in boxes removed from the fridge, or maybe this chef's kitchen is not there at all? It's a pity, nice place, charming near the Douro River ... but everything is like in a theater, friendly service, presentation of simple dishes only real cooking is absent !!!

First of all we had a realy nice evening, we reserved a table for two at 7:30 pm. And we had the menu for 2 (which was realy good). The wine prices are a bit too high in my opinion, we had a bottle of nice whitewine from porto, in the shop it costs like 6 euro and we paid 20 at the restaurant, in my opinion 12-15 would be fair. The main dishes are realy tasty but not realy big, you need the menu to still your hunger.
And at 9:30 pm other guests were waiting to get a seat and we had some wine left and had to stand up to free the place, normally no problem for me but with this high prices I want service and comfort and not to stand up for other guests if we reserved a table.
And a candle or some flowers on the table wouldn't be much work to do.
So more details, a bit lower prices and no standing up for the next guest and it would have been perfect

Food was really great. The Veal is highly recommended. (Menu could be changed as the staff said.) It was a beautiful place. My husband has dairy allergy and they tried to offer the best option they can do. Cheese was gorgeous, sadly dairy product however they gave us more ham instead of cheese so my husband was happy enough. All food was surprisingly great. Especially desserts were awesome. They offered special coconut cream brure so my husband can taste ever since he was a little boy, he hasn't tasted cream brure due to his allergy. Thank you so much for their kindness and considerations.
