Great food, really good service. The only negative would be the bathrooms are way down the hall outside the restaurant.

Food was great and the price was very reasonable, especially for that area.

Additionally, the service needs to be commended. I was traveling with someone who was highly allergic to dairy and the server went above and beyond to accommodate. It was a fantastic experience and we will definitely be back.

I was exploring The Rocks on Saturday and wanted to find somewhere nice for lunch. As I was by myself I wanted to find a cute spot so I could read while I ate. The outdoor seating area is lovely with a great view of the ally way and out onto the main street. For the quality and serving size, prices were good. I had the lamb salad and a glass of sparkling. It was very delicious and exactly what was needed on a warm afternoon. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly while knowing I was just enjoying my own company. Would go back again but bring some friends next time.

The place is nice, and the wait staff know it, so they do act pricey (at the gate). Would recommend a reservation for next time. The food was very nice and wonderfully paired together with each ingredient complementing the other. My server was also very sweet and friendly. Also have a very nice collection of wines to go with the menu.

It was too dark to see my food which I don't like, the visual is part of the experience. The food was good but not quite up to the prices being asked.The staff were pleasant but nothing special, they just seemed to do what was expected but without any genuine engagement.

Good looking restaurant. Hummus starter was not very good and the service was extremely poor... You won't get a recommendation to visit here from me.

We ate here because we wanted to try some local cuisine, and we were not disappointed. We first tried the crocodile tail with ginger and shallot yogurt. While the crocodile itself was similar to a fatty piece of chicken, the dish itself was well prepared and good. We then tried the seared kangaroo with beetroot tartare and pepperberry dressing. The kangaroo itself was interesting, and the dish itself was quite tasty. If you are looking to try some local cuisine, go to Pony Dining.

Great food, Sydney prices. Good atmosphere and location. The steak I had was cooked how I like it.

The menue might not be huge, but it is certainly delicious. I also liked the laid-back atmosphere and the open kitchen. Seating outside is nice, but a reservation on busy nights is recommended.
Definitely a great place for meat-lovers (but others will also be happy here).

Five of us shared 4 appetisers and the two specials and two sides plus desert and the cheese platter. Simply gorgeous food! Beautiful and delicious. Paired with attentive but subtle service from our waiter Santi we had a fabulous meal and can't recommend Pony enough. Just go.

Great food, great staff, good atmosphere. It is a very popular restaurant, so booking ahead is a good idea.

Even when the situation may feel a little bit touristic, Pony is 100% Australian.
The cauliflower and the drumsticks are really good! And they have as well a good dish of the day.

If you have to eat in the rocks, this is the place to go. Good selection of drinks and tasty food. Staff are excellent.

Tasty food but not large portions
Had angel hair pasta and steak.

A wonderful location but was let down by the food. Mains appeared very quickly, too quick to have been cooked freshly. Both dishes (angel hair pasta with crab and cauliflower tortellini) lacked flavour.

I had an unfortunate visit here when there was a drainage issue that was out of control of the restaurant. On my return visit the staff couldn t have done more to make up for it and the food is five star!!

This restaurant is really good, very interesting decor - and funky surrounds. Excellent cocktails - definitely order one of these! The restaurant was full on the night we went but the service was still quite good. I would definitely recommend to check it out, and it's a great place to go with a group of friends. Enjoy!

Our family popped in for lunch on the weekend. The place was nicely set up. The services were prompt and friendly. Food is very nice, fresh and well cooked. The prices were not exactly budget friendly, but given the premium location and food/service quality, they were acceptable. However, I gave it a 4 star instead of 5, because I was surprised to be charged a Sunday surcharge. I didn't see anything about the surcharge on the menu, (or maybe it was a very fine print that I've missed). Considering the premium prices without the surcharge, I was disappointed to be charged additional for a normal non-public holiday Sunday.

Excellent service. Slightly overpriced but lovely experience.Food was cooked well, but flavour combinations were so so.

Lovely decor, great atmosphere, professional staff that constantly cleaned away empty plates. Food was good and portions quite substantial. The starters were excellent, the brisket main dish needed more flavour and more depth in the glaze, although it was very tender and cooked well.

Bad service. Always ask us to sit in the corner when there's no one eating at the same time. When we left, there's only three customers. Different services for different customers. No need to waste money there since the food is not good as well.

We complained to the manager about one wait staff who was arrogant and rude. She dismissed our complaint and shrugged us off as we only ordered coffee and deserts. Very disappointed.

had the $55 ladies lunch menu. theyre pretty stingy on the portion and made us share 1 dessert between 4 when we paid for 4 people. we complained about it and they said that's how it's given. not going back again.

Not dog friendly. Advised that they were not prepared to allow us to sit on the deck out the front for lunch with our dog and that he would need to be left out the front.

Good food. The dry aged rib eye with bone marrow is so delicious. Table was more like a long bench with seat a little akward to sit on outside. Staff service was a little drap.

Negative: our group asked for tap water. A waitress came around with a pitcher of still water and an open bottle of sparkling and asked each of us if we wanted still or sparkling. Because the bottle was open and no-one had ordered the sparkling, a few others and I thought it was of no charge - I have dined at restaurants before that do this. But then we were charged over $20 for sparkling water. If I wasn't with a group I would have complained. Positive: the food was tasty, the restaurant is cute and service was good with the exception of the above

Food here was interesting on the menu, but under-delivered. I was disappointed with the dryness of the food and it was not worth it.
On the plus side, their servings were generous.
I would go back if it was cheaper, or of course the quality of the dishes improved.

My work mates and I visited pony for our work Christmas dinner. The food was delicious, I had the sirloin. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Just note, the toilets are not located in the restaurant and is a short walk away

Pleasurable dining experience. There's very long tables outside and it's enjoyable to sit out overlooking the laneway. The vodka, chili and coconut martini and Lemon Myrtle Spritz were insane.

The atmosphere and decor is nice, staff too..although VERY PRETENTIOUS. The food price does NOT match the quality.. average food.. nothing special for what they charge

My family and I were travelling to Sydney and we came across this very lovely restaurant. The menu offers a variety of delicious foods that are to suit everyone's needs. The service is also fantastic, some of the best I've seen in a long time. This will be a place to remember, for the next time I visit Australia. If you like steak, I definitely recommend that you try either the rib eye or the sirloin.

You know what they say about proper table cloths for a fancy restaurant? Not true.
The menu is clear, clean and straightforward. The waitress was knowledgeable of what was on the menu, daily specials and the wines. Once ordered the dishes where brought out in great intervals and at the same time. The staff was attentive to any needs and requirements during our seating. The food was exquisite and nicely presented. We had a good time and everybody loved it.

It was very nice. Friendly staff, great food, their atmosphere was good as well. I will go back there defo.

Great Saturday night dinner. Shared the 12 hour braised lamb between 2 of us, it was divine-highly recommended!

We had a fair sized group (19 people) and were working with the set menu. Among us there were people with various dietary restrictions.

The team at Pony Dining took great care of us and responses from our group to the event were universally positive.

The food was fine/good, wine portion control not so much. The "small" (150 ml) and "large" (250 ml) wine servings were virtually identical on the first attempt. The second try had some difference with a couple millimeters difference between the small and large, and the same difference between 2 larges. The third attempt seemed to resolve the comparitive differences with the small getting somewhat smaller and the larges being the same. The large never appeared to be 1/3 of of a standard 750ml bottle. Moral: order the small wine if having wine.

Appetizers we're good and nice combinations of flavors. I had the pasta with what appeared to be beautifully prepared, freshly made pasta. I added some black pepper to give a slightly more interesting zing to the balanced subtle flavors. The chocolate tart with smoked ice cream was the best, different, and successful pairing; really wonderful.

I was with a group sitting on the patio on a pleasant Sydney March evening. Lovely to look at the old buildings and enjoy the techno music from the club across the street. It would have been nice to have both cheeks on the bench, one too many people for the length of bench.

The Best brisket I have ever had the staff were very friendly and the decor was beautiful. I can't fault this place at all. When i took my first bite into my brisket and i felt like i was heaven. Couldn't recommend this enough.
