Ordered the 500g rib eye medium rare and then waited for 35 mins for it. It came out blue so I asked to get it recooked for medium rare and it came out well done. The service was very average and for $60 I had a higher expectation. Would not go back there again.

I had a wonderful dinner with a couple of friends. The staff are well informed & professional, the food is outstanding, we enjoyed delightful edible compositions, freshly shucked oysters, pretty plates of peaches and beetroot, perfectly barbecued meats, venison, lamb and beef Rib Eye on the bone. Desserts are scrumptious and the cocktails were also a standout. Thank you.

I've eaten at Pony at the Rocks twice in the last two weeks, once with an out of town gal friend and then took my husband back the following week, I must say as a fan of Tapas the small plates were incredible, each fresh, seasonal produce, extremely tasty and I personally felt very affordable. The staff on both occasions were friendly, well versed and articulate in their "specials", and although the decor was not a big factor for me rated high in the interior design factor, a very pleasant experience all round, twice, taking another foodie there in about a month, am confident he'll also enjoy it. It was recommended by the staff at the Marriot, and will continue to be my choice of venue whenever I am next in the Rocks or the Quay

It was our last night in Australia and Sidney. We wanted a good final dinner. Pony delivered in spades. We had a meal of roasted quail legs, a ricotta and pumpkin pasta, roast lamb and broccoli, followed by a peach and coconut crumble. Every course as a delight with wonderful tastes and smells. Service was excellent (thank you Lydia) and setting equally good. Highly recommended.

Second Visit: Food on point for second visit, however rude waitress ruined the night, management seemed apologetic however never followed up on issues (as told to expect). Ruined a lovely night out and unfortunately wont re-visit what was a beautiful spot for us.

The lunch menu was reasonable range and price given it s in the touristy area of the rocks. Food was quite nice, the service was bit lukewarm however, despite not that busy towards the end of lunch hours

Really nice decor and good menu with friendly staff. The outdoor balcony area is great and the small plates were really tasty and reasonable value. The big plates are less impressive (we had the lamb which was just ok and quite expensive for just 3 slices of meat at $38). A good choice in the Rocks and close to all the action.

Bitchy Manager who looks like a bitchy version of talk show Ellen! Burning bitter steak, please do not call yourself modern Australian cuisine! Shame on you! This place should call" Pony Burning"!

Did not even want to give this location business, the sheer disdain aimed towards us by the staff upon entering was enough to turn us away. This was before demanding our small pram with a sleeping baby not be allowed near the table at all, and acting like even asking about the location of the restroom was some form of personal insult.
Food may be good, who knows, doesn't make a difference when treated this badly immediately.

Very cute restaurant with excellent food and drink. The Pimm's cup pitcher was great. But the kangaroo was absolutely delicious. The fries were exception and the brisket really good. The toast is enough for a small army. Servings are very generous. Servers very personable and helpful. Really enjoyed this dining experience.

The foods was good, but I think its bit over price. Service was VERY slow and bit rude. They served the flat bread without dipping sauce. To ask for the change, it tooks 10-20mins and the service staff did not apologized for the the mistake. While we had a main, its very hard to find service staff to order another drinks.

Nice atmosphere restaurant, the appetizer kangaroo meat is quite good, no strange taste. The Italian bread is also very good, the sauce is very strong.
The main course ordered stewed rice, and I personally thought it was normal. The attitude of the service staff is very good, but the staff is a little understaffed.
Recommended and revisited restaurant!

Was unimpressed by the meal portions considering the extravagant price. Perhaps I'm spoilt in Melbourne, but found the Mozzerella Eggplant tasteless, rubbery and too small to justify spending $13.50. Felt robbed of $50 after my unsatisfying lunch. Service was OK, but certainly not with a smile. All staff must've been having a bad day.

Don't expect a cheap meal here, however the food it fantastic, there is a wide variety of dishes available, along with local dishes such as seared kangaroo. The food is outstanding and is worth every penny, it's a extremely pleasent dining experience and I would say it's one of the best in Sydney. The service is great too! I'd advise a booking as it's very busy and it's quite unlikely that you'll get in on a walk-in particularly in peak seasons.
My only downside is that the restaurant didn't have it's own toilet facilities, you had to use the ones connected in the mall, which were dirty. Personally I'd expect better toilets given the price your paying...

From pony ordered one of their grilled dishes which I found overcooked, but my mum ordered a lamb dish which was cold and sticky. Tried it myself and concur it wasn't properly cooked. The prices are also as high as some very good nearby restaurants

I thought they'd know better. We bought The $78 share lamb loin chops. After 40 mins of waiting guess what we got? 2 pieces of lamb chops by themselves. No sides, no potatoes, nothing! Lamb chops by themselves were swimming in a salty sauce. So we ordered salad and guess what we got? Coles mixed leaves by themselves (no cheese, no nothing) with drizzle of dressing. You expect better from a decent looking restaurant. Thoroughly disappointed with food. We feel like we tore money and threw it away by going to this place. Waste of money and time.

My partner and I had our anniversary dinner here last night and the service was impeccable. We were seated on arrival and provided with drinks straight away. Our server was very lovely, and walked us through the menu and gave us really helpful suggestions for the night. The food we ordered were so delicious. To start, we had the Octopus followed by the 600g Pork Belly with a side of leaves and herbs, and hand cut chips. The Pork belly was the right balance of crispy skin and tender meat, the problem was that it was way too much for 2 people (which our server advised, but we were starving so we ordered it anyway). The chips were cut thick, lightly seasoned and with very minimal oil which were nice. The leaves and herb salad were a bit small to share between 2 people, but it was seasoned well and had a nice crunch from the toasted buckwheat. If you like sweet drinks, we recommend the drinks 'Watermelon Lychee' and the 'Harbour Sunset' from the cocktail menu. Dessert was the only thing I didn't like all too much, we ordered the buttermilk pannacotta and found there was a slight aftertaste to the pannacotta and a weird taste to the bed of grain it was sitting on. Every other aspect was lovely, so it wasn't a total mess. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Will come back again.

tl;dr. Not worth it at all.

tl;dr. Not worth it at all.

For a 2pm lunch, they had a table which was nice. All down hill after that. 45 minute wait for food. Tiny overpriced servings, including entree. $37 sirloin steak is just that - a poorly cooked steak in a pool of olive oil with a sprinkle of rocket. Service was definitely lacking, waitress couldn't even muster a smile for our table of Russians and an Aussie (myself), but (contrary to the Asian racism review) the Spanish table beside us got stellar service. Go figure? What food we did get, was tasty though, but that's the only quality.

Service was good. Food was very good. I particularly liked how the music was a nice manageable volume and gentle acid jazz. Lighting was din enough that I couldn't read the menu. It's not cheap but its a lovely overall experience.

Food was not as good as I expected, for the price. And the so-called "Big plates" (we had the salmon, and the lamb skewers) weren't very big at all. The description on the menu makes it sound like there is something to accompany the meat ("shaved kohlrabi" etc), but it turns out to be little more than a garnish. The only plus was the lovely venue.

Oh, and the 10% Sunday surcharge was an unpleasant surprise.

Might have given a 3 Star as food was pretty good, but disappointed to be charged a Sunday Surcharge. On querying this was told that it was written in tiny writing at the bottom of the menu and on the bill!!!! Given the legal requirement to make this clear for customers, and indeed in response to previous complaints by customers this should be made prior to eating and not at the end of the meal implying that it was me that was expected to have read the small print. Spoiled what could have been a nice experience. Won't be back as a result!

Great food. Lovely atmosphere. Very nice staff. We ended up at the communal table outside bc we were hours early for our reservation & had a lovely dinner chat with 2 other couples dining next to us, which turned out to be quite fun! I ordered the ribeye, which was a solid dish, but was having plate envy for the brisket next to me. It looked unreal. Salmon was delicious.

The food was really good, and it's great for eating alone since they have some shared long tables. Sat outside in a cute alleyway on a warm evening. The only thing that disappointed me was that they charged me for a big glass of wine, while I said I wanted a small one. The large was almost double the price.. I told them I said small, but I had to pay for the large, since they gave me that.. I didn't know.. Other than that it was good. Lovely flavours in the dishes I tried.
