We did the Family Style Whitewater Rafting and it was great. Pocono Whitewater did a flawless job. The whole experience a pleasure. I highly recommend this trip for a fun day outside with your family. We can't wait to do the Dam Release trip!

This is an update to my review above: My wife and I went back to PW and did the Big Night Out trip. I was hesitant about rafting in October but I am so glad we did. The trip was a blast. We had to use wetsuits, which kind of made it more fun. Our guide Jamie was excellent. The rafting and biking made me feel like a kid again. Thank you Pocono Whitewater. I'll be seeing you next year for the Dam Release!!!!!!

It's next year (August 2020) and we rafted the Dam Release trip yesterday. Excellent time! We had 9 people in our group (age range 13 - 62) and every one of them had a blast! We hope to have a bigger group next year (and probably will when we tell everyone how much fun we had on the river yesterday). The staff at Pocono Whitewater were great. They were very helpful during the whole trip. The other rafters were fun also! We met a lot of good people yesterday. If we don't make it up there this autumn, we'll see you in 2021, Pocono Whitewater!

Extremely dishonest. Made agreement with them to pay for referrals/advertising. When it came to it they refused to pay saying that we never signed. I would stay away from them with a ten foot pole.
I see that you responded below and that does not change my opinion. Telling me that a contract needed to be signed and the procedures of booking groups AFTER I sent you thousands of dollars of business is not only CHEAP but also a CHEAT! I dealt with many other attractions this summer and NOONE renneged on their email or phone conversations.
I did deal with this in private conversation and since you refused to pay the money you owe I said I'd go public with this. It is a shame that you are forcing me to go public but I feel that I need to let people know that you are dishonest and refuse to pay. I'm not sure if the COVID19 dip in business made you desperate but cheating is not a way of having pride in your 40 years of business!

Everything was cool until we got down to the rafts...

Everything was cool until we got down to the rafts it was unorganized and everyone was just rushing to get to a raft they had to blow up more rafts which was fine but time consuming the guide that day seemed a little annoyed and suggested we go combine with another group because it would be easier for us. We ended up with another group of three and there was a language barrier which made things really difficult. We right away got stuck and the guide was trying to help us and then had another guy come over to help because that wasn t part of his job . We got stuck with people that we basically carried around for 3/4 hours under the hot sun we were too behind in the group to be able to stop and get out although the guy that was helping us allowed us to get out once, I think mostly because we started to argue and he could see the tension kicking in. Then when we stoped to eat so we go over to the guide and explain it s not working out if there was someway he could fix it . He waited until everyone was back by the rafts to yell that another group would take us but it s was a bit awkward and embarrassing and we felt put on the stop. Then at the very end there is one last bumpy area. I ended up falling out the raft and was stuck and couldn t move I waved to the guide who I thought was looking at me but he turns around I thought he was calling someone over cause he looked like he was looking down at a phone or something but no. I was stuck for about a min or so that I finally realized he want coming and rafts are passing me so I started yelling as loud as I could and waving my hands It was just really frustrating because we basically became these peoples chauffeurs the whole time and had to carry extra weight. Was put in uncomfortable situations and the guide I felt like just rally didn t pay attention or care how ever his help was perfect and friendly especially Molly and I wish I could remember the guy who pretty much helped us the whole time

It was our first time experience of rafting. But with the professionalism of the crew , we felt so confident and they were extremely helpful on guiding us through out the tour . They make sure you are safe . We had a 4 hours of tour on dam release water where we could experience class 3-4 rapids . Wear water clothes and easily drainable shoes (available for rent also) , take go pros, mobile water proof cover . try to keep the car keys in locker and leave the valuables in the car as you might miss it in case if the raft flips . You can take food and water as they give you a small bucket with lid to close it and keep it in the raft . you can eat when they stop in midway for break . You will see breathtaking views all the way . Just listen to what crew say and have fun

We did the family package, which had a lunch break in between the 4 hours of rafting which can be exhausting. Overall very fun, love the slow stream where we can stop and take a swim, and workers are very professional with guidance. I happened to lose my keys, and I called back to see if they have a lost and found which they did and my keys were found. They shipped it back to me without a cost, highly appreciate the people. Will visit again.

My family just did the upper dam release whitewate...

My family just did the upper dam release whitewater this past weekend (August 20, 9:30 a.m. slot), and everything about the experience was fantastic! We were a group of 8, split between two rafts of 4, aged 11 to 58, with no rafting experience. The 12 miles of class II and III whitewater gave us the perfect amount of excitement and thrill without being either too boring or too much for us to handle. We maneuvered our way through rapids and around rocks, being sure to get stuck on one or two (before bouncing our way off and paddling away like pros), and even had someone fall out of the raft. It was a blast! Our guides Austin, Will, and April simply could not have been better. A great team. They knew the river well, were clear with their instructions and directions both on and off the water, and made sure that everyone had a safe and awesome time. Between the rapids we dipped into the water for a swim and got into epic water fights with other rafts. And best of all, every one of us felt good and sore the next day. We will definitely be coming back for more rafting adventures with Pocono Whitewater!

Really awesome adventure, the staff for the most part was very friendly and helpful, 2 of the trip leaders in particular were extremely helpful and very very friendly (we received a bonus history lesson on our ride back through Jim Thorpe which was awesome!!)

The water on our trip day was a bit low so most of rapids were very very small so for an adventurous adult it wasn't as exciting, but the trip was overall an enjoyable experience with a little of workout from the rowing mixed in with some relaxing spots as well.

The only issues we experienced were minimal but worth noting. Upon our arrival we were basically told we were early and to wait to do our paperwork, it felt as though we were being scolded for being ahead of trip time... Once they let us do the paperwork is was EXTREMELY unorganized as far as what we were supposed to do next and what people around us were doing to prepare for the trip. It felt like we could have left on time if not 30 minutes or more earlier if people were there instructing guests more and making sure people were actively getting ready.. A lot of folks wondering around, back and forth not knowing where to go or what to do

With all of that being said, I would highly recommend this trip for a couple, a family with older kids, or even a family with smaller children.. The folks leading the trip are very safe and vigilant!

Been there about 3-4 times and its always fun. Rafting staff is very friendly, funny and very clear with their directions. Will keep you safe at all times. Anyone can do Rapid 2 levels whether or not they know swimming. Tons of free parking. You can even take a pass if can't make it. Take your water guns and your phones in protective sleeves to make your good and fun memories. Food at cafe is ok, and little pricey, so bring your own snacks.

Did the family style rafting. Calm enough for kids and still a good time for adults. Like anything, there is some inherent risk to rafting down a river. The guides will inform you not to stand up if you fall out- don t, really easy for your foot to get trapped in the rocks. Also, a decent risk of falling out and smacking your head on a rock, consider wearing a helmet or at least having younger kids wear one

We did not realize it was a guided trip, which certainly slowed us down as the lead guide had to stop the whole group of roughly 20 rafts to wait up for everyone. After some time the guide at the back of the group (there were three guides, one up front, one in the middle, one in the rear) realized my friends and I knew what we were doing, that we were purposely staying near the rear of the group, and started suggesting paths to take, and waves and holes to look out for. This made the rest of the trip considerably more enjoyable! We are by no means experts, but have been rafting quite a few times before, so we certainly appreciated this!

The packaged lunches you can purchase before hand is a nice touch, and are packaged excellently, even separately bagging sandwich ingredients to ensure the bread doesn't get soggy!

Overall a great experience and well worth the trip!

Great place for rafting, we did class 3 rafting for 12 miles. We walked like 50 feet in 1-2ft of water and down rock made stairs to start rafting which felt unsafe. Overall it is very fun, the guides are very skilled and watch closely for your safety. They will help your raft off rocks even in very rapid waters. The processing stage is a bit boring but the rest makes up for it. Highly recommended!

We have went white water rafting with Ponoco Whitewater for 15+ years. Always did the late morning with the lunch stop for my godson who is autistic. This is great for all ages, and the younger kids sleep good that night.....so do some adults. 3+ hours on the water, wanting to go for the moonlight rafting, with wine and cheese at the bon fire just sounds like a great night. If you want great guides and a great experience you should call and book you won't be sorry.

My friends and i have been coming here every summer for at least the last 6 years for the dam release whitewater trip. The staff is professional and fun and most of all, safe. The routes, both upper and lower gorge, are very scenic. We'll definitely be coming here for many more years. Next year we're thinking of doing the moonlight rafting trip. Highly recommend this place.

Raft 12 miles on a really fun section of the Lehigh River that includes Class 2 and 3 rapids. Pocono Whitewater staff is great and very safety oriented. Rafts were in good condition. Our only complaint was the bucket used to store the lunches leaked, but since our stuff was in plastic bags and/or dry bags, our food was OK. They move large groups of people through there in a very organized fashion.

Family rafting included a buffet style picnic in the middle, basically hot dogs and hamburgers and chips. Rafting was a blast with water wars. But don't get out of the raft, it's nearly impossible to get back in, the raft sticks to your skin!

Two stars because the rapids were fun but other than that I d rate it a 1 star. The attraction is fun when you finally get there but the way it s set up is just weird. They make you drive to one location to sign in and then they bus you about twenty minutes and then an additional ten min walk. I didn t encounter one nice worker. Everyone had a sarcastic, rude attitude. It s a poor set up, especially with the amount of money you re paying. All of the life jackets smell like mold and there is also mold in the boats. They also make you stop for a 30 minute lunch break which I just personally think it s a waste of time.
