Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware! PGT s warranty is basically worthless! We purchased a home with PGT windows and four of them were de-laminated. I called PGT s customer service. Never in my life have I been so rudely or summarily dismissed. The customer service agent said The warranty is for 10 years and extended ONLY to the original owner. You are not the original owner therefore there is no warranty; and he added how do I know you did not power wash your windows or do other things you are not supposed to. PGT appears to have lots of conditions that disqualify a warranty claim. Our house is 8 years old & was built by one of the area s most respected high-end builders. Avoid PGT and seek out other manufacturers that build quality hurricane windows who offer a fair, reasonable and transferable warranty.

The worst service in the world. PS If you read there reply they said they would contact me they never did. Its a shame when a company gets so big because of faithful customers like GLK Construction and then get ZERO from Customer service!!!!
This is an example of how my window came from PGT, They told me to install it and they would repair GOING ON 3 MONTHS AND NO REPLACEMENT.

We had three of our single pane windows replaced with hurricane rated windows with low E glass in June of 2018. Definitely notice a decrease of sound & thermal heat transfer. We ve been very happy with the windows so far.

Time will tell, but so far I'm not impressed with my hurricane impact single hung windows. They are very tight and not easy to operate. wish i had read all the negative reviews before purchase. I purchased my windows through home depot. The job is in process but now delayed by three weeks because they need clips to tie double windows together. WHAAT??

Replaced patio doors two years ago with PGT doors. There are suction cup marks all over the glass which we have not been able to remove. We have done everything customer service has suggested, but to no avail. The manufacturer will not replace under warranty. When the sunshine s on the glass, it looks like a archery range! BEWARE!!!!!

I purchased PGT windows and doors for my house through Atlantic Windows and Shutters in Miami, less than 1.5 yrs ago. All still under warranty. The French doors white interlace began to discolor within the glass and have emailed and called both Atlantic and PGT without resolution for over 7 months. Atlantic Windows' Manager, Gordon, never responds to either emails or numerous calls, and Barbara, the receptionist stated that PGT has sent the wrong glass. This has occurred twice. I then reached out to Kenneth Kennedy in PGT aswell and he said someone would contact me and no one did. He no longer worked in Consumer Relations. I emailed Marjorie Powell and Brian King in PGT, consumer relations and received no response as well.

Overall job was great. BNT Services did a great clean job , super professional people. They even filled up my rebate forms which were accepted promptly all to my satisfaction. The great deal is who installs and that is critically important .

I would NOT recommend getting PGT windows. I had windows renovated in my home and the contractor used hurricane grade windows made by PGT. I don't know how the windows we received were even allowed to leave the PGT factory. There was silicone between the panes of glass and various pieces were falling off from several of the windows. My contractor had a representative from PGT come to my home and I was told the windows would be fixed. It has been about 8 months and nothing. No call, nothing has been fixed. I wish I had read these reviews prior to my contractor using PGT windows because I would have said noway! I included a picture of 2 of the windows made by PGT and you can see the very poor quality, silicone globs coming out of the sides. PGT really needs a quality assurance manager in their manufacturing department.

Solid, secure, (hurricane) safety, silence/sounds, and easy
I had a 19 year old single pane pocket slider (ie: both doors slide open). I called for quotes from 3 firms, only one was able to provide me the pocket sliders options with PGT doors.
Such a difference since the installation. These hurricane impact windows are fabulous! When I shut the sliders, i feel safe (nobody is "popping" the door off the track to gain access). You would think with the extra weight, the doors would be hard to slide/close - my neighbors have similar doors, and it feel like my arm is going to yank off trying to open/close. Not the case with my PGT sliders. Smooth, easy, no muscle strain. Solid.
And did i mention the sounds (or lack there of)? When it rains, I cant hear the waterfall/downpour coming off the roof eaves anymore.
No more cooling bills flying out the wind (literally) - no more heat pouring int the house. Glass is energy efficient.
Best part, I live in Florida & we get hurricanes. No more schlepping out the metal shutters to install during alerts. No more panic sessions to get home to cover up the windows perform the storm hits and/or power goes out. No more hunting for the special little tool for the brackets. My work is done.
Now I can watch the storms go by.
Again: Solid & secure, and easy.

PGT is a croaked company. 99.9% of its employees are drug addicts last year they failed to even have the quarterly drug test due to the high number of lost employees. hence the fact they dident want to lost the there half. sexually harassment goes unpunished with just a slap on the wrist. Married team and group leaders ask for sexual favors bribe to women for a tech-up,inappropriate comments are made and yet HR does barely a thing about it. Its not all that great as a company. I personally fell that carnival window are a better company then pgt and their products are a way better product as well as company from the inside.

Disappointed in PGT and their products, this is just another company that does no wrong and the issues are someone elses fault even if, one lock on a window lines up and locks and the other does not. All windows have some type of issue but any information on how to adjust or repair seems nonexistent pgt just defers it to an installer issue.I belive the people running pgt are the same people that ran the american car companies in the late seventies and early eighties.I am also a contractor with many years experience, I purchased the windows at ABC supply company they were not much help its better to look elsewhere.
PGT may have moved but they are still in business and should not be able to escape their reviews by saying they are closed or changing addresses, when thay are very much still in business and not adressing the pratices everyone complained about.

PGT Industries warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on. They also put a new meaning on customer stall and run around. Customer Service is an oxymoron!
To make a long story short, my new home (now 9 yrs old) has all PGT windows and 2 of them are defective. I have been waiting almost 3 YEARS for them to honor their warranty. They have also consistently and painfully stalled and dodged the installer they recommended!

Very disappointed with PGT. They do not stand behind their product. Won't honor the warranty unless you are the original owner. My house is just over 3 years old , and there is fogging on the sliding glass door window. Spoke to PGT and they basically said "you're screwed", because I am not the original owner.

On the C shift single hung, I LOVVED working on this line. I LOVED all my co workers as family. I was an outstanding employee showing initiative to learn something new ever single day. Yes I had family emergency s to tend to and Surgery and Gabby were both VERY UNDERSTANDING! However one day being on the flipper for 9 straight hours, I became exhausted from lifting windows as I had did this the shift before(day before) . I fell sleep ON BREAK OUTSIDE, was told I would be OK to go home from Kevin King, yes I m putting names out there. As directed and told I would not be fired if I chose to go home and rest. I did so. On 9/13 team leader came to me and told me I was suspended until I received a call from Donna. Donna waiting until Saturday to call me, I showed up ready to work on Friday as my scheduled shift. Got sent home.... what I don t understand is how is a co worker Maria allowed to fall asleep on the line with windows coming down from the flipper and I get fired for falling asleep ON BREAK OUTSIDE. I don t feel as if I was a liability ESPECIALLY me being OUTSIDE DURING BREAK. There is favoritism and it doesn t matter how hard you work or how fast and efficient you are in your job. It doesn t matter. Employees are not appreciated for there hard work and dedication to PGT Industries. I hope in the years to come Management and team leadership skills THANK U PGT FOR HELPING ME FIND MY WORK IN THE NURSING FIELD!!!!!!!!! improve for the sake of the employees at PGT.

I would not get PGT windows again. Mine are 13 years old and 4 are leaking badly in the same very spot. Service is horrible - give me the run around about contacting installers. The leaks are due to a bad design. If at least they came up with a solution, but they are not willing to do that. Also the locks and handles deteriorate quickly and the finish chips easily.

What a PGT "Lifetime Warranty" costs: When a PGT w...

What a PGT "Lifetime Warranty" costs: When a PGT window fails prematurely (within 3 years in my case) you must find one of "their dealers" who will (A) process the claim [at a $PRICE]. (B) install it [at a $PRICE]. Some of "their dealers" will no longer be "their dealers" when your window fails. Some current dealers will not process it for you if they were not the original dealer. Some will charge you [like $75] just to PROCESS the warranty to get a replacement window. Some will charge you [like $500] to replace ONE SMALL window that failed prematurely. PGT conveyed no interest in removing these additional hassles and financial burdens from consumers whose products fail prematurely. SO, what good is a PGT "lifetime warranty"? Not sure if other window manufacturer warranties include free replacement AND INSTALLATION. Do not misunderstand what "free replacement" means. You are welcome.

I recently retired after 35 years as a window contractor in the northern part of the US. We have moved to Puerto Rico to build our retirement home. Never dealing much with hurricane rated windows I started my investigation to find the right unit s for us. We settled on PGT and ordered and shipped them to PR.
To make a long story short. I don t like bashing any business but I think I know windows and all I will say is I would never order these PGT windows again. Take that for whatever it s worth.

Replaced 3 old single pain window with PGT windows. They don't seem to have any uv protection yet we paid for it. The installer came out and inspected the window and agrees with me. I have been waiting three weeks to hear back it see what cane be done. I called the installer and he said it can sometimes take month to hear back from pgt. That is unacceptable. So let me guess I wait 5 weeks to hear something, 5 weeks for someone to come out, 5 weeks to hear the solution, 5 weeks to have them fix it, and it will probably still be wrong. Do not buy the brand. Just look at the other reviews.

It used to be a half way decent company but now they think they are to big for their own good. They are by far not the even close to the best windows out there. Not to mention the prices.
My last few orders came to T&C in PSL where I go to order my windows. The aluminum SGD'S were dented, scratched and filthy. And I took pictures. The windows are the same. I've been buying, selling, and installing windows for over 30 years. PGT is the worst manufacturer's I ever had to work with. Never again. LLP

After hurricane Irma, our "hurricane proof" window...

After hurricane Irma, our "hurricane proof" windows failed. The seal between the glass panes leaked. They are made by PGT Industries. Called on the warranty folks at PGT (sent them pictures) and they said the windows are under warranty. They said to contact my installer to do the warranty work. Well, my installer "Wellhome" is out of business. Okay, called PGT and they gave me a list of installers in my "area". Called ALL of them and NONE will do the warranty work. Why? Because they aren't the original installer. Okay, contacted the warranty person at PGT (won't reveal her name due to privacy concerns) and asked for help on getting an installer out to fix or replace the windows. Sent emails. No response. Quite honestly, it's their windows and to have me spend hours of time looking for an installer to fix their warranted windows is simply unacceptable. They need to take responsibility and find one. Instead, they ignore me. Won't return my inquiries for help. Poor customer service and the windows simply are not up to par. Very disappointed.

Windows in my house are only 4 years old and one section is defective. I called PGT and they said because I bought the house last year and was not the owner who had the windows installed their so-called life time warranty is not valid. She told be I would have to pay to replace their defective product. Sure I will, but I ll be paying Anderson or Pella not these crooks.

Had PGT windows installed in my home earlier in the year (2017) for my new custom home my wife and I built. Roughly 3 months ago the outside glass pane cracked (2 pane impact window). Everything was submitted properly through PGT, and we are still waiting on it to be fixed. According to the window installer PGT over 3x now has either sent a broken window pane or lost a shipment. No one has returned my calls when I call directly to PGT and now my window installer can't get a response from them. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend them based on warranty, customer service and service.

Just want everybody who installs PGT windows produ...

Just want everybody who installs PGT windows product to know that they need to check all their newly placed windows for a year for stress cracks since these are not covered anymore after one year.

We Bought PGT windows and sliding doors plus front doors via BnT in Fort Lauderdale the latter provided great service and mounted the windows and sliding doors plus front door in a few days and left the building clean afterwards. One of the sliding doors was damaged and replaced by BnT without any issues. Our house has a second story with three bedrooms and a bathroom, which we rarely use and have blinds for all windows. When in March the Pandemic started I needed to start from home and one of the bedrooms was converted to a home office.

When the blinds were opened I noticed a crack in the upper left corner of the window which looks like it was there for a while because of the dis-coloring around this obvious stress crack. After contacting BnT they told me that PGT windows are only guaranteed for the first year for these kind of cracks which seems odd to me since their Competition window manufacturer have a life time guarantee for these kind of cracks. We were just one month over the year and no claim was excepted
