Fantastically old fashioned cinema the way it used to be, even got intervals halfway through the film and ice cream, serves alcohol, fantastic.

Fabulous, old fashioned cinema with an interval so you can buy an alcoholic drink or coffee and ice cream.

Love the tradaditional feel and atmosphere and reasonable entry fee. All concerts i have attended have also been excelent

Penistone Paramount is a wonderful jewel in the centre of the town. An old time cinema and theatre with a balcony and bar. A nice old time touch is the intermission during the film for a drink or ice cream. As well as regular new film showings they have live concerts, a yearly pantomime and National Theatre live.

This is such a brilliant place to see a film. Love the tradition of an intermission when you can get a drink from the bar or an ice cream from the ice cream seller. Happy days

Great little cinema, me and my daughter love the half time ice cream

We are a mature couple who have been visiting the cinema for decades. It's an absolute gem - a wonderful place, and we always look forward to visiting. However, after our latest visit to watch The Lost World of Z this week (great film) I have to mention how disappointed we both were with the receptionist who took our money: this young woman was not just unprofessional but rude, an absolute contrast to the mature lady who welcomed us in at the door and was so very warm and friendly, and the young woman who served us at the bar during the interval, again, as you would expect, absolutely lovely - welcoming and polite. If you are going to sit on the front desk, and take a customers money, we're not asking that you smile at everyone but, we do ask that you are polite and professional. Many Thanks to everyone who made our trip out so worthwhile.

Good old fashioned theatre even have an interval and sell ice cream.Good value for money.

Traditional cinema tickets are still cheap compared to major cinema chains and there is an interval half way through film so you can buy more drinks or ice creams and pipcorn

Fantastic night watching Mamma Mia Here we go again. Great music, comfy seats, interval drinks - Acorn Blonde - and one very happy wife.

Great cinema also events pantomimes , live music , comedy etc.

Hidden gem. Not only is it a good venue for movies, but they put on excellent live music and other live concerts. We've booked for live concerts into 2020!

Single-screen old-school picture house with all the latest films in quick rotation. Intermission halfway through the screening with ice cream stand and a bar - continue your drink in your seat!

Lovely cinema/theatre. Friendly welcoming staff. Added bonus of a small bar for refreshments during the interval. Yes they have an interval break during the films.

The best place to watch a film or see a live show in the area

Great venue whether it's for cinema or bands. Nice little bar area for drinks and snacks too and the only place I know still having an intermission during films, i love that. Very nice inside too.

I love this place. My family and I go most Wednesdays and will often wait the short while until a film is shown at the Paramount instead of going to see it as soon as it is released. The staff are really friendly and the other patrons are too, which makes the venue so different to your average anonymous multiplex. The auditorium is a good size and is good for concerts as well as films.
As others have mentioned, the fact that the bar is open before the show and during the intermission is great. You can get a cup of tea or a draught beer (they have bottled ale too) and take it back to your seat.
This must be one of the best cinemas in Yorkshire, if not the country!
p.s. I have been known to laugh out loud when the intermission screen suddenly appears right in the middle of a scene- it's so unexpected!

We really enjoyed the annual pantomime at Penistone Paramount. The staff here were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was great. Loads of families attending. The standard of production was very high.
I have also been to see films here in the past and it is a great theatre.

Great little cinema. ice cream, beers and other drinks are available along with a range of sweets and popcorn etc.
Seats are comfortable enough and there is good leg room. The screen is large and sound and picture good.
All films are stopped halfway through for a refreshments break

Excellent night at the comedy club but queueing for drinks at the break a nightmare.

Brilliant little community cinema downside is its sound system is so loud it distorts the dialogues on the films. Nice to have a drinks/toilet break in the middle of the film, fab

Great night. Rockingham Brass Band. Night at the proms fund raising for Armed Forces Day. Fantastic venue.

Wonderful historic building full of character and old world charm. Normal selection of snacks and refreshments at reasonable prices. It's only a 5 min walk to the train station and there's parking next door as well.

A fabulous independent cinema and a better experience and price than your multi screen cinemas

It takes you back to an era where cinemas had a balcony, and there's an intermission for ice cream. Brilliant.
