Brilliant little cinema.. Great atmosphere.. Lovely staff.. Great little bar

Lovely ( old skool) Cinema with a sense of Occasion, personal and a fantastic atmosphere.
A must visit and you will return.

This is a great little community theatre, cinema and concert venue. Always a pleasure to go there.

Beer and ice cream at interval. How cinema should be with friendly staff

Great little cinema with welcoming staff. You take a step back in time with the interval from when I was a young girl. Makes it a lot easier for taking the children to the toilet instead of having to miss part of the film. Staff sell icecreams at the front of the cinema during the interval and you can buy drinks from he bar area too. It's a nice cosy and friendly atmosphere and they have shows and pabtomines there too.
It's a lot cheaper than the big cinema venues.

Experience the kind of cinema from your childhood... red velvet seats, brass fixtures and the good old fashioned intermission where you can que up and get an ice cream or a beer.

Good old fashioned picture house with drinks and refreshments at half time interval.

A truly marvelous little cinema and theatre. All communities should have one like this. Lucky Penistone.

Old fashioned music hall type establishment, if you love the traditional venue then this place is for you, with an onsite pub and intermission ice creams it's a lovely place to visit, but come early as parking can sometimes be a nightmare

Queint old fashioned cinema with ice cream intermission.

Love this place. Great films comfortable seats. Best bit is the intermission so you can get ice cream and fill up your pint glass

Fantastic little gem of a theatre and cinema! I love the olden day feeling of the building, it has such a lovely charm about it. Very well priced tickets for films and theatre shows. I love that they still have intermission during the film to allow you to get anothet drink from the bar! The staff are lovely and friendly and although things have definitely got some age about them, they are certainly clean! Will certainly be going back for many more years to come!

Christmas Eve film, a family tradition, always good!

Most enjoyable, the staff extremely helpful with my daughter who having suffered a stroke is now disabled. We have made bookings for future events. Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon

Great family cinema! They don't make them like this anymore

As always, a warm welcome in this characterful venue, love having the bar available before the show and at the interval alongside the ice cream trolley. Loads of live entertainment throughout the year, perfect little community cinema and theatre that also happens to be highly popular for many miles due to the resident Compton organ. Extremely lucky to still have such a place in a small market town.

Me and my wife really enjoy coming here as it is a friendly atmosphere and a quick car journey from Thurgoland. We have been going to the Penistone Paramount since 2005 and the nieces love it there too when we take them to see the matinees..

Really lovely old cinema. The interval during the film where you can get a drink/something to eat is really sweet and helps to make it a great night.

Lovely little cinema loved the film and that there was an interval! Nice bar for refreshments, couldn t ask for more!

My first visit to this cinema and although I ve visited many cinemas in UK and abroad, it has been a long time since I visited an old style cinema and to be honest I d been putting it off. Here s what I observed:
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The prices were good.
The screen was smaller than most (but the right size for the theatre size).
The picture was cast from the rear of the theatre (the old fashioned way), but the image on the screen was 100% Crystal clear ( not blurring, no fade out, bright and no dark spots). The sound was perfectly clear and not TOO LOUD.
There was a bar and drinks could be taken into the theatre (along with the usual snacks).
There was an intermission and ice creams.
The theatre was comfortable and not freezing cold as most modern cinemas tend to be. Glad I went and can t wait to go again. Penistone is lucky to have this facility. Use it. Don t loose it.

An absolute gem. Excellent value, lovely surroundings, amiable clientele and good films (with intervals for drinks). Always well worth the journey from Huddersfield.

Also brilliant caring staff - unfortunately proved in abundance to me when they had to get an ambulance for me when there recently! Was acute food poisoning ....but not from their yummy ice creams.

The atmosphere, prices, balcony and the intermission ensure I'm a regular. Go, you won't be disappointed.

An excellent independent cinema. It hasn't changed in years and doesn't need to. An interval and bar makes this a unique experience in a world of faceless multiplexes. Go visit it!

Great old fashion cinema, even get a break for a ice cream half way through the film, or a pint if you prefer as there is a bar.
Very helpful friendly staff, usual snacks at usual prices.
The cinema is much cheaper than the bigger ones by a long way, I prefer to go here as opposed to the large cinema's.

Very comfortable seats. Great ice creams during the interval. Yummy popcorn.

Great little picture place that shows films, has live shows and more. Brilliant to watch a film with a pint of Guinness! You can order another drink before the film to collect during the intermission without having to queue! Amazing! Also, you don't need to take out a mortgage to see a film, unlike mainstream cinemas!

Great atmosphere for a pantomime. They had booster seats for the little kids so they could see OK.
