Terrible manager, he checks/spies on the food you are eating with your family. He charged me for an extra salad because I took a little sample from my daughter's plate. Is the manager/pelican that money hungry to do that to a customer ( 5 of us) who visits regularly. The waiter did not recieve a tip and Pelican just lost a customer

Excellent appetizers, soups and salads, and entrees. Decent table service but it was a busy night. Was served an unclean glass of water but the strong (no skimping on alcohol) drinks and good local beer on tap well made up for it.

Imagine this...

Imagine this...

You're sitting there enjoying your appetizer and a drink when you look over at the wall of your booth and a 2.5" cockroach is crawling towards you. The vermin then settles on your table, you get the manager, and he says it must have come from the outside.

Know what was on the side of the wall from the booth? The KITCHEN.

Never see us there again.

A pretty good restaurant. Wait time was a bit long, and they wouldn't seat our party of 14 until we were all there, even though our table was set up and waiting for us, so we had to jam into the small waiting area until everyone arrived. Started out slow with the wait staff, but eventually picked up. Food was good, entrees averaging around $22 each. An odd combination of a trendy yet rustic seaside atmosphere, but still kinda worked.

Amazing dinner. There's no one who makes better fried zucchini. The shrimp pelican was off the charts and my friend said his steak was the bestt he'd had this year! I miss this place from when I grew up in El Paso. I'm so glad to see that it is still here and with great food and service.

Had horrible customer service at this location.

Had horrible customer service at this location.

I was there last night for a friends birthday, and ordered the prime rib. I was tired from a 14 hour day at work so I couldn't finish the whole thing. Our waitress put it in take out containers and when we left, I accidentally left it behind long enough to walk out the door, realize I had left it, and immediately walk back in. I headed back to the table and they had cleared my table and the food was gone. I told the host I had been there literally a minute and thirty seconds previously and he kept insisting no one had seen my food and someone had to have thrown it away. I asked who was the bus boy, that it couldn't have gotten far in one minute, and he replied with, "Someone must have thrown it away." That's all he ever said. I'm suspicious if someone decided they wanted to take it home for themselves and just didn't want to give it back. For some reason no one wanted to simply check. It made a very long and tiring day all the more frustrating.

Excellent service, good wine selection, wonderful salads with hand made dressings, great appetizer selection, specialize in seafood, cozy, romantic atmosphere...all in all a very nice place to relax, unwind, and have a leisurely meal at moderate prices. There is a bar if you want drinks only
I enjoyed the endless salad although the first serving was so large I didn't have a refill. I also enjoyed the French onion soup, very nicely done.

Pelicans is one of the best restaurants on the west-side of El Paso. It is worth the drive if you aren't close by! I ordered take out and was extremely satisfied with the time it took, the quality, and the car-side accomodation! Thank you, Vanessa for the great service!

New Year's Eve dinner. Although they were full they were able to accommodate us. Service is prompt and friendly from the hostess to the waitress to the manger stopping by to check on us. The food was delivered quickly. The timing between course was perfect. The food itself was delicious. From salad through entree to dessert and coffee. We could not ask for better. We will certainly return.

Sirloin steak is the best I had. The food was on point! Was worth all the money I put in. They need to work on the potato tho. Add sour cream and the taste of the actual potato was kind of weird.

This is really unbiased as I am traveling and found this place on Google, it had some mixed reviews and I thought I would check it out, Here is what I came up with. There were many people at 7:00pm however I was greeted and seated quickly, My waitress was very quick and cordial, I ordered lemon aide and a shrimp cocktail, The shrimp was not watered down and had a good firm taste, I ordered the Halibut with steamed veggies and the first bite of the Halibut had 5 bones that I had to pick out and that of course is a little embarrassing, The veggies were perfect texture and very enjoyable, over all I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here nor would I recommend it, I spent 43.00 with tip and felt it was worth about 15.00. Not terrible not great, I would suggest that the owner gets a web developer and someone local for reputation management.

Just left Pelican's this evening in complete disappointment. My family and I have made several visits to Pelican's in the past, always at the eastside location before it closed down. Tonight we decided to give the westside location a try since we had received a gift card for Christmas. Ordered prime rib, but it was undercooked. So we sent it back only to have it returned as if it had been re-heated in a microwave, judging from the puddle of juice that surrounded it. Unfortunately, our waitress did not return for about 10 minutes after that, which resulted in a loss of appetite. Truthfully, not that big of a deal....she took it off of our bill. As we were leaving I requested to speak with the manager, but the hostess had informed me that he was too busy to come out and talk to me. Really?! Apparently, they were having trouble with the credit card machine(and I understand s#!t happens), but he could not come out and acknowledge a paying customer? Very aggrevating to the point that we will never return. The sad part is, is that it was one of our favorite restaurants.
Receipt 3/30038.
