We love the giant salad, the bacon wrapped scallops and ahi tuna are to die for! One of the best martinis I've ever had!

The food is good, but the kechtup taste like wine.Make sure you order correctly because they had to bring my order twice! But have a good time eating there!
Best restaurant ever! Manager Jimmy was very attentive!
Great service in the bar area. My date and I had ahi tuna and a filet mignon and our meals and cocktails were prepared perfectly. Great as always!
Ernie at the bar is very friendly and fast. Food here is great for seafood in the middle of the desert and the steaks are up to par with Texas standards.
I have been eating here for many years now and well I've never had anything I didn't like. The mussels are sereously good and served searing hot. I love capers and the shrimp scampi is full of them. Also the roasted garlic cloves in olive oil seems to be rare around El paso and I really believe them. The bar menu is absolutely good too!!
The food was delicious. However, the server may have been having a bad day. But, we will be back. It happens.
really good food appitizers are the bomb service good and overall a happy enviroment
Great Food!! I eat there almost everyday and am amazed daily.
Great food n service not a lot of people in the restaurant
Mushini, Sashimi and Dirty Martinis are my go to while listening to amazing live jazz on Thursdays.
The restaurant itself is Coxy and dim. The bar area is lively. Tone, Josh and Will are impeccable at making sure you re taken care of.
My favorite and the bar tips with green chili and fries Great Value at a great price. Wonderful atmosphere definitely a must-try at least two or three times good drink specials
fresh seafood, a bit pricey. you get what you pay for, the service is excellent. I could have done without the Mariachis in the dining room. way too small a place for a loud band to play.
I had a bad experience previously at the East side location, fortunately this time the food was better. I think the restaurant was short staffed. They were attentive, but very busy and almost overwhelmed. Took about 25 minutes to get my bill after asking 3 different persons.
The waitress was amazing, but the food wasn't great. The prime rib was too fatty, cold, and overpriced. Everything else was good.
Well, I've been coming to Pelicans on the East side of town, no longer there I might add. And I decided to try the one on the West Side of town for my wife's birthday. I called to find out about the menu more, and see if it was the same as from a few years ago. I talked to someone, but they mentioned that I needed to call at a later time, which was no problem, but when they hung up suddenly without apologizing for the inconveniences, as if I was wasting their time. That is a no go in my book. Coming from a frequent customer in the past to try it once more, and way out of my side of town, it's upsetting, and disrespectful treating customers as a number, especially now days with this COVID 19 BS. I called back and mentioned that it was rude of them hanging up in that manner.
Management...You are all on notice! You just lost a customer. Either treat customers with respect next time, or close your business if you will continue to treat customers with rudeness every time.
And update your website!
I love this very nice, cozy, exquisite food and they take great care of you, I highly recommend it..
Such ambiance. Love the food and drinks. Service is always awesome
Excellent food and service. Great spots for couples and large areas for larger groups. Entire staff is friendly, very cozy.
My wife spotted this restaurant over 6 months ago. Having a big family delayed us ever visiting. Fast forward to the day of our wedding anniversary, being the procrastinator that I am, I have to come up with something. I set up a reservation with Google assist for 7 pm at 1 pm.
Reservation went flawless, even with us showing up 30 minutes early. They accommodated us immediately. I mentioned to the gentleman that greeted us, behind my wife's back, that it was our anniversary (who we assume is the owner later during our dinner.)
Once we were seated, we received prompt service. Every question we had, our waiter had an answer to. Absolute service professional.
Having tried multiple places, we have yet to find a place that could do calamari "right." This establishment hit a grand slam with their calamari. The stuffed mushrooms are the only thing we could remotely have a complaint about, but at no fault to the restaurant. Since my wife has an allergy to most seafood, she was unable to eat the stuffed mushrooms due to some kind of seafood that was included (or so we think.) Our fault for not asking, and no biggie. I downed them easily.
We were a little puzzled with the salads that were served, but after seeing salads served to a table next to us, we realized that we must have ordered the wrong type of salad. Again, our fault, and we ate our salads with a smile.
The steaks were on point and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Lobster is, by nature, a tougher seafood item, but this establishment did not overcook it. If you like jumbo shrimp, then you will love this place.
The wine was excellent, and that's coming from a couple that just returned from living in Italy for 3 years.
Now that our meal is over, I mention to our server that we needed to go (cause I had other plans set up,) and he informed me that we still had desert coming, complimentary due to it being our anniversary. Cheesecake for each of us. I said thank you and to only serve one instead of two.
There was also a mariachi band playing.
Now this will not be a routine outing for us, because it is a bit pricey, but I believe it was worth every penny and would love to go back. This is currently our top on occasion location.
We were amazed to see this restaurant packed, on a Wednesday, with a bit more of a pricy menu. We knew we were in for a great dining experience, and this place did not disappoint.
I've never had a bad meal. Service is always amazing.
The food was very good, service good and quick, portions reasonable. Went on a Friday night and they had a live band play jazz.
The steak was 4" long maybe 1" wide, the lobster was rubbery! The only thing was the beer was good. The
My wife and I come here every Wednesday night because they have Mexican live music starting at 7:00 PM. She loves their Chicken wings, she usually orders twenty so she have some for next day's lunch. Their steaks are great but so is their sea food. I specially like their breaded Calamari. TheIr staff is excellent, I usually prefer Daniela to take care of us!
Always delightful.. always consistent... and the pecan crusted salmon is a triumph!
One of my favorite locations to eat at. Especially if I'm desiring seafood. Wait staff is always friendly. Food is always fabulous. Since I'm out of town I don't get to go often but always do enjoy myself when I do go.
I showed up to Pelican all sweetie after the Gym, i was so hungry decided to stop.. even though i was all swetie servers at the bar treated me with all the respect... and Fatima the best Server..
Shashami done to perfection, main fish plates were delicious. NY cheesecake was the finishing topper.
We had a delicious lunch. My husband had the char grilled rib eye and I had the fish. There was a very nice salad and portions were generous. Flavor was very nice! Our waiter was friendly and helpful.
Havent been in 10 years but always been above notch
Great food and drink in El Paso and Albuquerque. A great hangout for "grey hairs."
We came to El Paso for a wedding and thought we'd enjoy a nice meal the evening before. We found Pelican's via Google. Friendly staff highlights the experience; however, there are some negatives. Very dimly lit restaurant in a run down plaza. The menu covers both steak and seafood at upscale pricing. First, the decor doesn't match the pricing. Second and more importantly neither does the food. The salad wasn't freshly prepared: slightly wilted, dehydrated and very chunky. At the server's suggestion I had the prime rib at $29.95. It was good but not exceptional. It came cooked properly and was spiced appropriately but wasn't as tender as expected. The red wine I ordered was served room temp unfortunately. My girlfriend ordered the "sushi grade" tuna and it arrived over cooked and over seasoned. We both had mashed potatoes which she liked more than I did. I thought they were average. She also ordered the pineapple martini which was good. She described it as tropical and strong. Overall decent but neither a good value nor recommended. Average.
Great place to eat with your family and friends have a great time
Great meal, great service and great drinks what more do you want!
Good food, nice atmosphere. THIS TIME the service was NOT good. Our server forgot us, waited too long to offer dessert to the point where we didn't want to"hang out" there. Definitely not the same Pelicans we're used to. However we will be coming back.
Amazing food, amazing service and all staff wear masks!!!
Great spot for a classy dinner. I got the ribeye but have also heard great things about the mushroom appetizers.
I'd only go for drinks and the live band. The food gets me sick.
Pelican s has always been one of our favorites in El Paso. The quality of their food is always consistent & delicious. Never a disappointment. Since Covid happened, we ve been ordering via curbside, and we ve been very happy with how organized and quick this process has been. If you love good seafood, it s a must in El Paso.
We were able to get a bar table because are did not have a reservation being the weekend before Valentine's day. Service was not as good as it usually is, but our server was attentive. We ordered the usual appetizer, Rockefeller oysters which were very tasty. We are never disappointed by the oysters feller. I ordered my favorite, shrimp scampi with a side of asparagus. My scampi was delicious as it always is, but the asparagus were overcooked. My husband also ordered his favorite dish there, prime rib. Good taste, but the majority of his cut was fat which is very unusual. I recommend cooks put more care into what they serve.
A wonderful, family owned restaurant with excellent menu with reasonable prices. Staff is great.
We have been celebrating our anniversary here for decades. Yes it is a bit pricey but for our anniversary, it is absolutely worth it. Food and service are always top-notch.
Kayla was our server during COVID-19 when we celebrated our anniversary on July 22. Outstanding service, food and you could see the efforts made to reassure halt the spread of any virus! Highly recommend!
Food and drinks are really good. Can be pricey depending on what you get, but overall a good spot for dinner and drinks.
We have bed. Coming here for about 3t years and are always happy that we can expect t the best
Great location. Surf & turf is a great choice for a traditionalist as I am. Great service and menu.
Great service and delicious food the staff is there to make sure you enjoy your visit!! My favorite hangout love it
You want Fine Dining at its best? Then you must visit Pelican's. We make it a point to eat at Pelican's as often as we can. Prices are great.
Love it's place, they have the best seafood in town!
Nothing but good things to say! Our waitress was very sweet and helpful, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice as well as being family friendly.
It was cool and quiet. Our waiter was very professional but always had a smile when speaking with us.
Like Tony Montana I feel like a king at Pelicans! I order me lobster... I order me steak... I order the shrimp tambien... I always order more and more and more.... I jist can get enough of that goodness. Fly Pelican! FLY! I want they neon pelican to fly.
I love neon like a pelican loves pelicans. If u ever get rid of your sign Pelican please let me know.
I went here because of the reviews and stars. The food is fantastic. We ordered 2 appetizers, muscles and calamari. The calamari was long and thick. Not the circular, they are better quality and taste much better than the usual circle kind. The appetizers were amazing. The entrees were- salmon with mushrooms. The salmon was overcooked, but it tasted good. The mushrooms were incredibly flavorful. Fish and chips. The fish was cooked well. Still moist and flaked apart when it was bitten off. Sweet potato fries had a perfect crisp and had a good hint of salt sprinkled on them. Sirloin meal was perfect. The steak was cooked just right and flavored deliciously. The price for lobster was a little high though its lobster. Presentation was lovely and was devoured quickly. The butter comes in a warmer. Made the fancy feel. What is not pictured is the bacon cheese burger with thick french fries. It was requested for the burger to be cooked medium. It didn't come out that way. Definitely well done, but it was still eaten and enjoyed. The kids meal, teriyaki chicken was fantastic. Moist chicken with a burst if pineapple teriyaki flavor.
Our waiter was great. Unfortunately I don't remember his name. He was very attentive and explained every detail we asked for. He had to go back to get prices for certain things that were not priced, which is expected. We never had an empty glass and he was constantly checking to make sure we were good.
We called prior to arriving when it opened and a table was reserved for us.
You do have to walk around with a mask and enter with a mask but while you eat it can be removed. There was no thermometer check for fever as some restaurants do. We sat in the front room surrounded by windows. Only 2 tables were open in that section because of the limited # of capacity during Covid.
The restaurant was cool and clean. Plenty of space between the tables. There are a lot of interesting reads along the walls of the restaurant. I can see why they have been recognized for being one of the best.
I'd highly recommend for anyone to go. When I return I will definitely treat myself to dessert.
Excellent place for steak & seafood! Really enjoyed the quality & atmosphere. Steamed mussels were great! The interior is dim lit & well decorated. Looks like a captain's living quarters on some vessel. Hope it never changes!
Nice quiet atmosphere. Great place for a first date.
Food was amazing, and the band was extremely talented but kept it quiet enough to hold conversation comfortably. They play there every thursday.
We took my parents here for their anniversary and it was the best. A little pricey but worth the nice time we all had. Like that the atmosphere is dark. This is a really nice restaurant that is never gone to before. Split the check three ways so it was do able.
Bland, expensive food for people with NO tastebuds, cold food, pretentious place that cannot offer quality meals for the price of the food. Depressing ambiance; place is dark like it s stuck in time (80s). Do NOT waste your hard, earned money in this place. Food looks and tastes better when cooked at home. Was thinking of going all out on king crab legs but then I saw the appetizer and realized it wasn t going to be a good gamble. The calamari seemed like it was made in a lab - synthetic, and tastes very bland like a rubber and. Told waitress fish tacos were cold and offered to bring me warm tortillas. Manager didn t even show his face probably so he wouldn t have to credit yet another cuatomers food. Nothing against elderly people, I love my elderly peeps, but it seems to cater to that population. Which explains the blandness of the food. Service was ok. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Red Lobsted is a much better option.
Pelicans has been on our regular rotation for at least 30 years. Never had a bad or disappointing meal here. I would come just for the steamed artichoke appetizer!
Great food and early bird special 4 to 7pm with great choices at a reasonable price! Love the dessert menu!
The lobster was okay the steak lack seasoning also a little pricey
