My kids loved the zoo! My son loves elephants and they had a blast on the splash pad.
A lot of the animals were away because of the weather. The zoo overall was really interesting and the evidence of new features show some great additions on the way!
They are consistently improving and tge giraffe encounter was a great experience.
its small and they are trying to expand to gay polar bears
Nice zoo. Only gave 3cstars since a lot of areas under construction.
I rated a three because, one the zoo has some boring fish it would be a lot better if they had salt water fish. Two most of the animals look like they are depressed the tiger doesn't do a lot the lepord dosnt do much eaither. Three the elephants are in different enclosers and one of the elephants repeatedly rocked back and forth which is indicateing the animale is going through depression or is in stress which makes me feel bad for them and it is a pretty sad thing to see. And one more thing is that there aren't any zookeepers around to make sure the animals are ok or help anybody with questions about the animals. If they could fix all these problems I would think it deserves 5 stars.
Good place to visit with the family for those of us who live on this border and we do not have many places of family coexistence.
Always love coming here but is currently under construction so some areas aren't available
A fun day in the sun. The kids enjoyed the park and playground. New exhibits, the chihuahuan desert coming soon.
Enjoy coming here! We bought a yearly pass and it was totally worth it. My kids love the Zoo and they love to play on the splash pad during the summer.
Honestly either go to Alamogordo Zoo or rake the time to go the Bio Park in Albuquerque. The zoo is constantly being remodeled ( All Zoo's are but its small) you littlery are done within A hour seeing half the Animals.
As a family we frequent the zoo almost monthly. This zoo is very well kept and the staff is friendly. I really enjoy the meet the trainer shows that they put on daily. There is a new exhibit that is being built and I am excited to see the new animals. The zoo isn't too big nor is it too small. It takes about 3 hours to walk through. They also have a splash pad open during the summer and a huge playground for kids. Definitely a place to visit if you are in town and want to enjoy yourself. It is close to the highway and about 3 minutes to I-10.
We love the improvements! Can't wait to see it in a year.
Friendly staff and good Zoo membership prices with tons of great exhibits
Although small, well distributed. And animals in general look healthy.
I got spooped with the giraffe! Very spoopy 10/10 ign
I'm sorry but there are many places without animals, I would give it 2 stars but the facilities are nice
There was police everywhere that only spoke Spanish and some poor English, and were extremely rude to the visitors. There was no employees throughout the entire zoo, except at the stores. They didn't know much about the animals at all. However, their collection of animals was extensive and I really enjoyed viewing them, they seemed to be well taken care of and healthy. Some of them had very small habitats but had notes they were going to be transported, so it wasn't horrible. I'd recommend this zoo to anyone that really enjoys animals, but if you want something interactive, don't go.
-good zoo, lots of unique animals
-Go in the morning, ot gets hot
-take the kid's bathing suits, they have a splash park
It's a fun little zoo to spend a few hours at. Constantly under construction, which is good (more exhibits in the future) and bad (some exhibits get closed temporarily). The animals are varied and obviously well taken care of.
Cool for what it was. Not the best but not the worst.
They are doing many renovations (a big part of the zoo is closed) and some exhibitions were closed due to the cold weather...but after all it was a good experience, my kids had fun.
Amazing best place to visit I recommend the memberships if you plan going more than once a year. One time payment and free for the year. food is a little bit pricey but good. People Are Awesome there the employees and the volunteers.
It was a really unique experience, the zoo keepers and trainers are friendly and the elephant workout was awesome
Part of the zoo was closed due to remodeling ...march 2018
Awesome place to visit a variety of animals to learn about.
It's very nice you can see all the animals you want to see
Attended the bird show which was neat. It included a toucan, pelican, owl, and a few others. Got to see lions, zebras, orangutans, a giraffe, an elephant, meerkats, and more. Pretty good zoo. They're adding more on too.
Our zoo has grown so much. I'm very happy it's only gotten better
Renovation is ongoing hopefully it'll be finished soon!!
The parking is okay except on events, but it still goes smoothly. Admission is a little high. Only in el paso do major attractions offer no discounts for residents, college students etc. Anyways I do enjoy the animals and they always look great. Obviously they're not all going to be out posing for us. They're animals! But their employees customer service kind of sucks. My son's fav animal are the giraffes we saw the line to feed them, which we've done before. We always buy the tokens. So we politely moved to the side to see the giffages because they were so close! Then this rude young line girl told us that we can't be there because it's only for the people that paid. And I directed her to the line that we were no where interfering with. And she said again RUDELY we couldn't stand there. And to this day I regret not immediately getting a supervisor and teaching this girl how to speak to people. I was not at all near the line nor was I trying to feed the giraffes. The animals That come close are why people go to a zoo! That's why we pay admission. My son would have been there for a minute tops and we would have politely moved on and more than likely we would have bought a token to feed them at the next time. That experience has left the worst taste. We only go for boo at the zoo now and the place I work for always takes field trips there, but I fought to not go this year because of this. Lol. Gift shop is great. Food is really pricey. The zoo attendants are so nice.
Paid almost $50 for myself and my 4 children to see about 5 animals, most of the animals weren't there or they were remodeling the houses, definitely not worth the time or the money
The showcase of the animals were nicely arranged easy to walk to and enjoy.
Would give negative if I could. Very few animals out. Grounds filthy, glass on displays so dirty that you couldn't see thru them.
They should be ashamed!
It is getting better with time. All the remodeling they re doing is so nice plus the tree house is fun for the kids as well as the water fountains
Daughter took part in 3 camps & enjoyed herself immensely. Cool...
Love the el paso zoo! The staff is friendly and they maintain the park with their residents with the greatest care.
Nice place to entertain younger kids. Not big or small good size.
Excellent zoo experience. Great for kids of all ages. Well layed out, beautiful park ,with many shaded areas. The sea lion exhibit was outstanding.
Very funny, only that whenever I am building, let's wait for the next one, everything is ready
Great zoo for the price. I must add, however, that the elephants displayed overt zoochosis (swaying, pacing, circling). Despite the "cute" appearance of these behaviors; they are indicative of mental unrest and malaise. I urge the El Paso zoo to relinquish the pachyderms to a facility that could better care for them.
Great zoo. Not the best or biggest but it was well kept and it was not boring kept us occupied!!
Quiet and peaceful unless they are doing school field trips over there. Have great relationship with the animals and many of the workers.
Very nice zoo. Clean. Easy to walk around. We went in December, and there were no crowds. Enjoyed the visit.
Don't go until after 11:30 when all the animals are out.
Really cool place with a variety of animals. Although sometimes the animals are not there or there is just one and it looks very sad. They have tons of activities and shows throughout the day, weekends and weekdays. It does get hot though and there aren't that many water fountains so I suggest taking water and a snack. There is also a really big playground and splash pad for the kids.
Great and inexpensive way to spend the day with #Family and friends --- we especially enjoyed experiencing early morning feeding of the animals...
We went on a cloudy day. It was still in the 80s but because of all the clouds almost ALL of the animals were out that day! Go if you can on the cloudy days. It will be a better experience!
It's super nice and when the construction is done it's going to be very nice
This place is so inhumane. How is it even open? Where s PETA? I think I the sea lion was dead as there were also dead birds in the water.
We enjoyed the visit to the zoo. It feels like they need more support from the local community and the government. It's still wonderful to see a well maintained zoo in the desert of El Paso.
It was okay the sea lion saw bunch of people in one area there was Alot of areas that were not done that they were working on My daughter loved the water pads and other kids did as well to get all wet and cool off there is supposed to be 220 animals I don't think there was that 220 in the zoo today the big monkeys were not there and others I did not see
Love it! Only $40 for a family of 4. We took the train ride, the kids played in the little water park and we saw the birds show. Prepare to walked a lot. Parking is accessible and there's a cafe and a restaurant.
It's a not so big zoo, and it has some areas of opportunity. Some exhibitions need some maintenance.
Most of the animals weren't even there. Kind of a disappointment
Its okay. They need to install a mist contraption for the humans all around the Zoo as well as the animals... Overall it was nice...
