Crispy, fresh flautas, carnitas quesadilla so yummy it made me tear up a little. Fresh, tasty guacamole. Flexible menu that encourages you to try a bit of everything.

I went for lunch and was expecting much better meal based on reviews. The menu was very limited and I chose the enchiladas. You can tell where things are headed with chips and salsa. The chips were hard and salsa did not have much flavor. My first tex mex in Austin leaves me still searching for some good food.

Love this spot!!! The queso is unbelievable! I eat here almost every week :)

My husband and I had the best experience at this restaurant. We were visiting and not familiar with this restaurant. It happened to be in the area of the hotel. Jay the bartender made us the best margarita's we have ever had and the food was fabulous. Tell Jay"lady from the Bronx sent you".

Good food, good service, STRONG drinks! I had a margarita on the rocks and i was feeling it after just one. The corn is amazing i highly recommend it and since I've tried it i crave it all the time now. They taste just like real authentic Tijuana street corn. The fajitas are sooo tender and seasoned just right. Never knew Tex Mex could taste so good. Will be back!!!!

Nothing outstanding about the food. Neither good or bad....but it could have been what I ordered. I couldn't decide what to do so I asked the server his suggestion. I got a combo platter that had flautas and tacos. I guess afterwards having everything in a fried corn tortilla made everything seem dry. The chips and salsa were nice. If its convenient I would come back here again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

Samantha Hopkins gave us excellent service and made us feel welcomed like we belonged there. Will definitely come back.

Sunday lunch, very pleasant. Staff was attentive with the tortilla chips and water and plates. Banh mi tacos don t taste like any banh mi at all, but are still perfectly fresh and delicious. Funky decor you will like!

Friendly staff and nice outdoor set up. Food was good but felt was over priced payed close to 100 dollars for a meal for 2 but nice atmosphere made up for it.

Went here for Sunday brunch and couldn't have found a better spot! The restaurant was pretty empty when we were there (an undiscovered gem?) but the food, cocktails and service couldn't be beat. The decor is quirky Tex-Mex and really adds to the experience. A must go!

Im from El Paso Tx the border town, so believe me when I say I've had a taco or two. I ordered the taco plate with an additional taco. Carne asada, shrimp, and carnitas. The food was delicious, each taco had a unique flavor. I have to say the sweet and spicy from the shrimp was my personal favorite. This is authentic tex-mex. The service alone was on point I would give it 5 stars by itself. I will definitely stop by again next time I'm in Austin.

Wow the service here was on point, I was having a rough day and just needed a margarita so I came in by myself to have lunch. Jack was my server and let me just say he turned my day around! The margarita was top notch but the warm welcome and attentive friendly staff is what will keep me coming back!

Love coming here and sitting at the bar! The bartender Tai is fantastic! Super friendly, knowledgeable and makes delicious margaritas. I will always come back and ask for her!

Service was great. food was ok but a bit high. Two tacos for 10$ should be amazing. But they weren't

This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. We were the only table when we were first seated on the patio, and it still took our waiter almost 10 minutes to greet us and take our drink orders. It took almost 45 minutes to receive our food after ordering, which would have been acceptable if the restaurant was busy, however at this point we were only one of two tables at the restaurant. Our waiter, DONOVAN, never asked us how our food tasted, and never cleared our plates or glasses as we finished our dishes. We had to ask for to-go boxes THREE times before they were given to us. I spoke to the manager about this unacceptable service and he did not seem to care at all. To make matters worse, it took almost another 20 minutes to receive our checks after we initially asked for them. Once we got out checks, we ended up having to go inside to hand the manager our bills ourselves because our waiter was again no where to be found. The manager then took another 10 minutes to process the payments, seeming unapologetic the whole time. On top of all of this, the manager did not give me the exact amount of change for my cash payment. When I approached him about shorting me, he threw another quarter in my hand and said 'sorry' in a rude way. Having an incompetent waiter is one thing, but having management be just as terrible shows that this restaurant does not care about their customers whatsoever.

A wonderful experience I had here thanks to Michal and the rest of the staff that made me feel very welcomed! She was very attentive and friendly. The food was very delicious and fresh. Definitely worth the trip.

After surviving a 25 minute drive from hell by the world's worst UBER driver, I literally sprang from the car and ran into Pelon's to grab some crackers or chips or ANYTHING I could give my friend to eat before she passed out. The young lady at the hostess station initially gave me that deer in the headlights look (I was a little shook up too) but the tall young man next to her jumped into action.

Thank you for assisting me and my friend. I really appreciate the staff seeing the urgency of the situation and trusting me to come back inside with payment for the chips.

Yummy! I had the carnitas enchiladas and they were soooooo good, I came back 2 days later and had them again.

I had a great salad here, with seasoned shrimp. It was so good, free chips and salsa. I planned on eating only half but I guess I was more hungry I ate the whole salad. I sat outside (end of December) it was a perfect night. Staying at the hotel down the street this was a quick walk, and felt safe.

Wonderful patio and deck area which we thoroughly enjoyed. Fans helped to keep things cool. Margeritas were perfect! The servers were attentive. The food was good, but being from New Orleans, we found it a bit bland.

We went with some friends,very bad service and did not feel well received, felt as we were received with sarcasm as tourist to the city. Brought us waters(no straws) requested for and didn't make it back to take full order.

It took a while for the waiter to bring my check back & it started sprinkling so I just went in and paid but overall I loved the chips & salsa and chicken fajitas. It seemed decently priced for the amount of food. Would enjoy eating here again.

We initially were going to Stubbs but the wait was too long and we were too hungry. Was not my favorite. The staff was amazing and super friendly. The food in my opinion could have been better. Cool enviroment over all.

I have always enjoyed this place for lunch and dinner, but we recently hosted a memorial for our friend here (it was one of his favorite places) and they were so lovely and helpful. Our waitress (Stacey I think? It was a rough day) was so amazing, serving 40 constantly moving people without ever missing a beat. Huge thank you!!

Whitefish tacos with grilled zucchini and street corn was excellent. Quesadillas filled with big chunks of Chicken. Queso deluxe was heavenly (much like Torchys). Server was knowledgeable and helpful with the gluten free options on menu and was very friendly and helpful in general. Cool , leveled outdoor seating.

Best shrimp tacos I have ever had. Deluxe queso rocked with the awesome salsas. I was too stuffed to really appreciate the carnitas taco. I will be back. Margaritas will be calling me.

My hubby and I visited for lunch and the food was good, but the service was better. Our waiter, Gene, gave the best service and was there with whatever we needed before we had a chance to ask. We will definitely be back in the future.

I headed to Pelons based on recommendation from the guide. The salsa that came with chips was tasty with the perfect level of spiciness. The carnitas enchilada and cilantro rice were delicious - flavorful and fresh tasty. It was a nice afternoon to sit outside and enjoy my early dinner. The service was stellar, with the server checking on me often and filling my water glass. I was amused by the interesting and unique whimsical skull tiles in the bathroom.

The chips and salsa were the best I've had in a restaurant. The steak fajitas were delicious and came with all my favorite toppings in just the right amount. Service was good and the establishment was an interesting piece of Austin history.

5 stars would be given if the food even came close to a normative price and had some flavor. Flabbergasted as to how the tacos were at a top tier price and flavorless. Veggie fajitas were as basic as it gets for top end meat fajita prices. Sorry folks but your prices are outrageous compared to what's presented.

A uniquely oriented building with great style and atmosphere as well as food!

The staff was super nice, the venue is GORGEOUS at night, and the carnitas were good! But the rice portion was small and tasted completely forgettable. Still, they get credit for having a streamlined way to let us know when our table was ready and seating us in 10 minutes instead of 35 or 40 on a Friday night.

Delicious food, great service. Highly recommended if you are looking for some good Tex-Mex.

Good Tex Mex but nothing crazy special, we had to wait around 45 minutes after our reservation action to be seated as a party of around 20 but they gave us free guac and queso. The queso is delicious!

Such an amazing time at Pelons! Samantha hosted a group dinner for me and everything was perfect, tasted great, and the drinks were so tasty! Could not have asked for a better experience. Will definitely be back!

I went with a large group of colleagues, many of which were from Japan. Our server was beyond accommodating between the language barrier and making recommendations. The food was extremely good and reasonably priced.

Got some drinks last night, Ashley was super friendly, made it a great night for us, will be coming back!
