Good food with excellent Tequila list. We visited on a Saturday evening and sat at the bar. Both mixologist were friendly and fun! Kayla was breaking down the different variations of the beverages and options, gave my wife and I a little lesson on the different Tequilas available and Mezcal creation process. Prices were affordable and drinks hearty! Food was excellent as well. We had chips and salsa & chicken fajitas w/ corn tortillas that were perfect. Great place

So wowed by our service from Pelons! We booked a party for a birthday! Samantha took care of my guests and I with detail! The food and service was great! We will definitely recommend to friends or anyone looking to host a party for whatever occasion!

Visited this place for a networking/happy hour. Decided to eat here since we were already here. It had a fun, casual atmosphere with great food.

Highly recommend trying it out. Had to talk my friends out of coming back a second night in favor of trying something new. Regret that decision. This would have been worth the second visit.

Very pleasant staff. We were helped with our menu selection and they didn't blink at an odd eater. The carnitas taco was amazing. Their salsa had a great kick to it. I would not hesitate to recommend.

I loved my meal here! Ashely gave me excellent service and even offered advice on activities in the city as it is my first time in Austin. She also kept a good eye on the other guests the bar. I ll definitely return the next time I come through town!

Super disappointed . The only restaurant worse than pelon is taco bell

Parking can be a challenge but the restaurant is worth it. Great selection of Mexican dishes that are tasty and well prepared. The restaurant is a series of rooms with lots of tables (a little close together), and quick service at lunch.

Best enchilada I ve ever had! Usually not a huge Mexican food lover but this was so good, my husband and I came back here 2 days after our first visit. The queso is phenomenal and the carnitas enchilada was awesome. I would recommend sitting outside or in the first part of the restaurant (where the host stand is, with the low ceilings), it has more character than the middle section where we were seated the second time. Definitely recommend this place!

Great House Margarita pitcher, good queso, very good quesadillas and outdoor ambiance were perfect after having a nightmarishly bad day. The waitress was super sweet which helped sooth our frazzled nerves.

Decent food. Not the best but good. Service was just okay. Not busy at all so had a very strange feel due to lack of people.

Really great food with wide variety. My server Sara was terrific and helped my less cultured pallette explore some of the more intriguing dishes. They have everything you could want out of Mexican food and it's just a quick walk from sixth street if you're in town for an event.

If you are looking for a place that really embodies the spirit of Austin, this is the place. Servers are super friendly, bartenders are knowledgeable and the text mex is the bomb! Quesadillas are great, also love the carnitas here!

Queso was great, service was great, food was great, margaritas were a huge disappointmet. No flavor at all.

Delicious food nice ambience. I had the steak fajitas that were generous and lovely. One of my friends had a problem with her drink and weirdly they wouldn't fix it told her she had to pay for it anyway which I thought was poor service. I recommend and Austin the waiter was really nice.

Great bar. Have tried drinks here that I have never had anywhere else. The bartender Jay is great at his job. Every suggestion by him is a winner. Definitely recommend

Went last night and had some really good tacos but what set the night off was the excellent service from Nikki! I mean wow! As an ambassador for a brand I don t think you could do much better than her! Top notch suggestions and patience while I tried to figure out what I wanted to drink ( I got the higher shelf marg). I will definitely be coming back!

After watching Mystery Dinner and the way they ripped customers off with their BS charity, this is the last place I will ever go to or recommend it to anyone. The owner didn't even press criminal charges against his own staff, what a shame, should be out of business, FOR GOOD!!!

Pelons has a very neat and fun appearance from the outside. The restaurant sat my party comfortably inside. The lunch combo plate was very tasty, yet I felt the flautas and tacos could have used a tad more spice or flavor. The flautas could have also contained a bit more chicken inside. The chips and salsas were delicious, and the service was quick to cater to the table. Neat lunch spot!

Came in for my best friends 30th and it was amazing drinks were absolutely bomb and our party planner Samantha was aaaamazing she was so helpful and made the event unforgettable I give a 5/5 stars great food great drinks and amazing people!

Lucky this restaurant was near our hotel. Great good at good prices. Our staff was very friendly.

You can't go wrong with drinks on a patio that beautiful. Plus they have really good Happy Hour deals.

Best meal I had in Austin during my visit and BEST tex-mex I've ever had! Delicious hard-shell tacos, rice, and beans. The queso was AMAZING and our waitress was so friendly and attentive!
It's going to be one of those meals I'll crave all the way from NJ.

Kind and warm staff, awesome atmosphere and great food, omg, tacos. Tacos, ppl. Was thanking the gods as this place was within walking distance from my hotel.

Hidden gem with tasty food and good strong drinks. Try the 508!

First of all, the chili con queso is delicious! It's a white cheese with nothing but cilantro flakes on top. Next the fajitas were out super fast...so good! The service was awesome, we sat at the bar and Reagan really took care of us even though he had several big tables as well. The atmosphere was relaxed but vibrant. Had 2 types of margaritas both really fresh not premade. Even had Reagan make us an on the spot invention shot...Ask for the Strawberry Reagan! New goto place when in ATX. Delgado approved!!!

This was my first time in Austin, and I'm glad my friends and I found this place! I had the chili con queso and banh mi tacos (which had a kick!) were absolutely delicious. The bartender, Jay, made us feel like this was just like a bar we've been regulars at for years! I had never tried mezcal and he is for sure an expert in that field. Try the Oaxacan Old Fashioned!

Well, we went here because Stubbs across the street had an hour wait. In hindsightx we should have taken the wait. The food was mediocre, but everything took 5 times longer than it should've. We were at this restaurant for probably 3 hours, with 95% of it spent waiting on everything. Terrible experience.

Everyone needs to visit Pelon's more. When the weather is right, there's no better place to sit and relax. The massive oak trees on the porch make it both urban and rural.

I wish their menu had more seafood and mildly spiced options, but other than that, everything was really tasty.

Food and drinks were good. Location is nice but while sitting outside we got asked for money and food by multiple homeless. Not the restaurant fault but something to consider if you sit adjacent to the street.

Samantha threw a great event and was very accommodating. Margaritas are great too will def come back.

The server was training another employee but was very annoying. He was rushing us to order. I got the ranch chicken quesadillas and the flautas. My friend got the steak quesadillas with mexican corn. The flavor was good and there was plenty of cheese. If you dont like alot of cheese you dont want to get them. The flautas were good as well.

An ok taco place with minimal options. The food didn t wow me but it wasn t bad. With so many better taco places out there.

We were here during lunch, the service was great, we were a large party of 11 people, and the food was fresh. They are near downtown and walking distance from lots of things.

Me and my GF visited from NY in the mood for TEX-MEX and came across Pelons. Good atmosphere even better food.

Simply wow! I recently had an event with Pelons for a rehearsal dinner. Samantha was notably efficient and responsive. It had me at such ease entrusting her to make the event meet my needs. She and Pelons exceeded my expectations and I could not be happier with my choice! Bravo everyone. From the drinks to the food, my experience was astounding. Thanks all!

Walking through the doors of Pelons for the first time felt oddly familiar, like visiting a relative or a friend. The food is served fresh from the kitchen by the wait staff with a smile. The drinks are crafted by hand with care. The entire team makes sure you are taken care of from the time you enter until you leave. I never expected a place where the people so genuinely care about their guests. Make sure you try a drink with Mezcal and order the Chile con Queso. You won't regret it!

Pelon's coordinated a private Sunday business brunch for us for 15 people and it was wonderful. I reached out in advance and they helped me plan a set menu and then made sure we had exclusive service the day of. The food was spot-on and everything was handled professionally on the business-side. Would absolutely use them again for something like this.

Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect with such a limited menu, but wow they do their menu well. We were seated immediately on a Sunday night, all of the employees were extremely friendly. Chips and salsa were great and so were the margaritas. I got the steak quesadillas and my husband got the chicken enchiladas and they were to die for! If you're in the area I would definitely suggest checking out Pelon's!

Food was pretty decent. We sat out front though and between the flies landing on our food and having two different homeless guys ask us for money (and being chased out by the employees), it was kind of hard to enjoy the food. I'd eat here again if I was hungry, but I'd eat inside.

The food was so delicious. and the salsa!!! Definitely fell in love with it, perfect amount of spice! Our server Shelly left a lasting impression as well. We will definitely be back just for her amazing service.

A relaxed, good serious, but unpretentious spot for a bite and drinks

Everything was just ok. If you want authentic Mexican food this is not the place to go. Our wait time was extremely long and they weren't even that busy.

Cocktails are good. We had El Viaje an Rosa Rosada and they were top notch. You can t go wrong with any of the food! My fata$$ had to get tres leches AND churros to finish the meal and they didn t disappoint. We had the best server Jack, he was super personable and gave the best suggestions for food!

Come here if you want to be treated with love and respect. Pelons not only has fantastic food and drinks, but a staff that is kind and makes you feel like a regular. Give Christina a raise. She has been a blessing every time I go

Excellent Tex Mex spot on Red River. Excellent guac and hot salsa. Just had tacos but they were super tasty with delicious fresh ingredients. The tiles in the women's bathroom were truly incredible as well!

Standard Tex Mex - nothing to write home about. The spicy shrimp has a solid kick and the salsa before the meal is really great. Ruben was a great waiter.
