Went here for the Oh Snap! Festival and had a blast! Great outdoor space and you can get close to the bands and still be comfortable. Good drink prices and the people are friendly. I would recommend it to everyone I know !

As the oldest bar in Austin, The Historic Scoot Inn has infinite hipster cred (ugh...the Scoot Inn is SO OVER). And it's turned into quite the decent music venue. The past few years have seen it transform from a run-down shack into a much classier establishment, now complete with a giant wooden deck. I've been to a handful of music concerts (SXSW, Scootenanny!, etc.) and social events here and it's always been a blast. With the continued eastward expansion of the downtown nightlife, Scoot Inn no longer seems that far away from the rest of the city. You're just a block away from East/Hipster Sixth Street. Go Forth.

Cool outdoor venue! Great visual access to the whole band. Has an indoor cat, so-so bathrooms. Ffair security. Prepare to walk from your distant parking place. Street parking fees suck, but in an ok old neighborhood. I'm gonna go back for sure.

Great place for outdoor venue. You can see the stage from anywhere you stand outside. The restrooms are clean and there was rarely a wait. Parking was the usual on the street. Multiple bars outside make it easy to get drinks. Highly recommend and will go back for sure

Spoiled by listening rooms so very unhappy with their live music show. More than half of people here to visit so music has to be extra loud and still cant compete with loud talkers.. Cool looking place and probably fun if you didnt pay to enjoy the band. Dont forget raincoat as no covered seating

The folks at Scoot Inn have really classed the place up recently, but maintained the historic charm of the space. If you go on a normal night there's usually not a lot going on, but they do have their own locals that For me, Scoot Inn is a favorite place to go see live music in Austin because of the multi-level deck for easy viewing and the great audio quality I've come to expect. I've been going for years, but it's time to write a review because of the super professional way that the Lagunitas / Independence Brewing event was handled at Scoot Inn. Thanks for creating realistic expectations to those waiting in line, and making sure the event was fun and safe for everyone.

A little bit of a walk, even from parts of East Austin, but this is a pretty good venue for shows. Decent sound on the occasion I was there. Lots of places to wander about if you need to take a break or make a call. Have been to far worse in Austin, so jump on a pedicab or hoof it to Scoot for that show.

This is a nice outdoor venue for watching live music. It's small enough that even if you are at the very back you are still close enough to have a great view but big enough to accommodate a good number of people. The sound is very good anywhere you stand. Drink prices are reasonable. I won't hesitate to watch future shows here as long as the weather is decent.

The entire city has completely changed around this place in the past few decades, but Scoot Inn still has that "Heart and Soul" original Austin charm. Not many Austin music venues can say they've been around since the 1970's; Scoot Inn has been doing it since the 1870's (although most of the staff has changed). ;-)

This place is a small venue, but has an awesome backyard with a huge stage, lights, picnic tables, and a relaxed vibe. Somewhat of a "hole in the wall" feel in the bar itself, but that just adds to the experience. I've seen some great bands at this venue, and was pleasantly surprised with how the patrons jumped in and enjoyed the show (dancing and rocking along with the bands). Really fun, and the extra bonus is avoiding the stupid parking expenses of going out downtown!

It was here I discovered my missed calling of skeeball and conquered the record for the night! Unfortunately this was probably my most athletic moment of my life this far....Their buttery nipple is a nice sweet shot and their cocktails aren't too shabby! nice dive that feels hidden away but definitely worth a visit! Feels very historic, just like its name with old photo booths and antique decorations.

Awesome outdoor venue in Austin. Sound was great although the night I was there seemed like they weren't cranking up the volume to where you'd expect their speakers to be cranked too. Probably a noise ordinance thing.. Would definitely see another show here.

Didn't even get to make it in. I was throwing up across the street and when we got to the entry they denied me access. I didn't even get a refund for the pre purchased ticket to see a band. We had to walk from our downtown hotel through a VERY SHADY neighborhood that this place is in just to get barred. Ugh......

There is a food truck on site and its food was mediocre. The service was slow but there was a big crowd. By the time I got my food it was cold which did not make sense if it was just prepared. I had the PB Hummus wrap, was an interesting combo but tasted good together. Inside there is a photobooth and skeeball. The bar has a decent selection of beer on tap and in bottles. Outside there is a huge space out back with frisbees and Jenga blocks and stage for live music.

Great music venue with fun atmosphere - they even have skeeball! :) The service was great too. We went on a night with music so I'm not sure if that effected the drink pricings, but they were a little bit higher than I expected. They had an AWESOME selection of local beers though. Probably one of the best in Austin.

A bar that feels like a dive, yet somehow cleaner. The live music venue is really nice and I prefer it over Stubbs and the like. The bathroom (portapotty) situation is a little gross, but overall great experience in booming East Austin.

First time coming here for a concert. It was great, the venue and stage are wide enough that you can see your favorite artist and feel like you are so close! It was supposed to be a rainy day according to the forecast but it turned out great, decent food, good drinks so it was great. Just make sure you check for parking, there's one right next to the venue and it's $7 on weekdays but if it was full of cars, then you may need to walk more.

Pretty nice little place. Bartender was really nice and made drinks fast. Skeet ball was a fun bonus. It's a fun place to hang out for a little bit. When my wife and I went, it was a week day and there wasn't to many people. I'm sure the weekends here would be a blast. I'm not sure about the food. We ordered some but never got to eat it. We were to busy drinking and talking. It's a fun start for the night, place.

The Knocks! Great show! I like that this venue is promoting bigger artists.

Very inviting space with old school charm and a great bar selection. We went on a Wednesday for the lounge pianist who does cool and unusual song selections for a lounge act (ie. Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age etc.) The bar area provides a view of the pianist as does the couch seating provided in the piano lounge room itself. There is also a third room, tucked out of site for those who are not there for the music (there was a group playing cards in this room without disrupting the pianist).

The feel of old Austin ! Nice outdoor stage area, and a cool bar inside too.... Great place to catch a show, a venue worthy of a sole cause to go out. I've always had a blast attending shows here.
