I was driving to VA & my tire indicator light came on. I called Pearson spoke to John & was able to be seen immediately. John was sincerely professional & kind. My car was serviced & recommendations were made to ensure I was able to travel safely. I took John s advice got a new battery & will follow up w/other updates. I appreciate John s help & will go back when in VA.

I WAS a loyal customer since '05.

I WAS a loyal customer since '05.

I dropped my car off for service at Pearson Mazda and went there when it was ready to be picked up. AFTER I paid $600 for the service and waited 20 minutes, I was informed that they could not locate my keys. After another 30 minutes, I was told they could not find my car either. Pearson Mazda said it was test driven that morning and they don't know what happened to it. They said sorry, I will have to file a police report and there is nothing they could do.

My keys were obviously left in the car unattended, or in a place easily accessible to a thief. This dealership is careless and irresponsible!

I returned the following morning to request a rental car at the very least and was denied. I demanded a refund on the services I paid for the previous day and I was denied. I'm told I need to handle this all myself through my own insurance company and that Pearson Mazda will take no responsibility for this.

6 days later, I am finally getting a rental car. I'm told I will receive a refund but have yet to see it. And what about MY CAR? Nothing. No car. No I'm so sorry we screwed up. No compensation, no apology, no nothing.

I now have to reach into my own pocket and pay for an attorney. Thanks Mazda. You have lost me as a customer forever.

Bought a car last May from this location -- great car that was a trade-in! I moved out of the state and had unforeseen repairs. Would recommend getting your services completed elsewhere. I figured they would be helpful as I have a Mazda and a simple fog light plastic cover was partially undone so needed help to secure it back in place. For a fix that would probably take a minute to complete they quoted me $65 without providing me with any details on the issue. Their main concern was if I wanted them to continue with the charge or not. Overall it was a very impersonal experience from the staff I met in the service center, so I left. Went to a nearby mechanic who fixed it for free within minutes

My wife & I bought a Mazda 3 here. We test drove it, but she wanted to sleep on it, so we came back the next day to buy it. We called ahead and were told it was ready for us to drive away.
When we arrived, the car was not ready. We were kept waiting an hour, and were the only customers.
I got up to use the restroom, and our salesman was being questioned by the front desk staff about the wait. He said the car had hit a curb on a test drive before we got there, and was being repaired!
This accident was not disclosed to us. I asked if it was "routine" work that took too long and was told that was the case--a falsehood.
The car was "ready" the next day. My wife immediately noticed the awful noise from the bad rotor and returned it, and they said they'd just "missed some rust" on the rotor.
We knew about the accident, but trusted our salesman to make sure it was fixed.
They claimed it was fixed, and we picked it up, and it again made the noise, so we returned it a 2nd time.
This is now 3 times that they've worked on it, and it still made the noise when my wife returned to pick it up the 3rd time.
We took it to a trusted mechanic (flawless BBB rating, unlike Pearson, which had several complaints), and he examined the rotor and found it was warped and needed replacing. He documented the findings and was confident Pearson would replace the part when they saw his report. The rotor was visibly warped and had no rust.
We dropped the car off again, and received a call from Judy, service manager, to tell us that the mechanic "Discovered yet more rust" and removed it and it was flawless.
We told her that wasn't acceptable, as we'd seen the rotor, and knew about the accident.
At this point, she denied the accident happened, denied the rotor had problems, and stopped returning our calls.
They have our car. They have our money. We call them to talk, and they just say "The car is ready."
Judy claimed several days ago that a sales manager would call me to talk about a refund, but none did. I eventually got a sales manager on the phone (after several mis-transfers) and he had never heard of the issue and had no notes on the car.
Something is really, really wrong here. I'm sure if you're lucky you can get a car where nothing went wrong, and you have a great experience, but having discovered that a sales man, front desk sales person, and service manager are all willing to lie and mislead the customer, I can't and won't trust this place.
At this point we just want the situation resolved, and will never use them for service, sales, or anything again. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and encourage other customers who have been misled to do the same.

Had my 2006 Mazda 5 towed in, when I got there I stood waiting for a while, I've never been to this dealership before and my first impression wasn't good. I was finally helped by an Advisor she was so busy with another person she said they would help me, Another guy said he would be with me soon he became so busy, eventually I was helped by an Advisor name Mark, whom took my statement of what happened, then proceeded to say he probably will not get to checking the car until Monday, ok I'm out of car and stranded he suggested I call some one to come pick me up, I'm like who? And he took my keys, I'm the one who asked if a shuttle was available. He said there's a guy who does but he is in Ashland and it would be some time, I waited in there little waiting area at least it was clean and bathroom was up to par. But my over all experience was ok, found out my car being so old they put vehicle is not worth the repair cost. They didn't offer me a rental or see if I wanted to possibly buy another car from them. I felt they took my money and now I'm out of $128.83 thats how much they charged me to look at my vehicle, to record nothing, and did nothing. O give two stars because I did get a nice person to drive me over to work after that whole ordeal.

Thanks a lot Pearson Mazda for the smooth process in completing the process of buying a brand new CX-5. I loved the speed in which the paperwork was taken care of and the deals that I was offered. I interacted with Kenneth and he is a wonderful sales person and helped me a lot in getting the rates that I was looking for. The people in the dealership is courteous and I will definitely recommend this dealer to anyone planning to buy a Mazda.

Took my Mazda 6 for new brake pads and a few other minor issues; was expecting "dealer pricing" to be high but found that the costs were competitive if not better than the independent places. Service department communicated to me throughout as to how long my vehicle would be; got all of the work done within 3 hours and my car feels and runs a lot better. I would definitely check the pricing here before taking anywhere else.

I always trust them to treat me fairly, be informative, and offer a good price for services rendered. If it is something that they cannot fix (since I drive a 15 year old Ford), they will always refer me to somebody who they believe can help me. I truly do highly recommend this dealership, and Mazda automobiles in general.

We went to Pearson Mazda to test drive the CX-3 and drove it home. My first contact was a web search for the car to research it. I received an email and text message from a sales person who gave me a good price via text message. Sara, the salesperson, scheduled an appointment for me with John and he honored the price she gave me. No pressure, just enough information to make a decision. They even worked up the pricing difference between a used CX-5 and the new CX-3. We were not planning to buy that day but we did. Everyone was pleasant and informative. Even the finance person didn't pressure us. Great experience! Definitely recommend the folks at Pearson Mazda!

Phil took incredible care of me and my fiance when we went by to look at some cars! I only drive manual transmission, which is getting harder and harder to find, so it was great to find several cars on one lot that suited my preferences. I tested four cars here and really really liked a used Mazda 6. Phil made it a really enjoyable, low stress situation. He didn't try to hard-sell us. I walked straight out of another dealership when the salesman started pulling the hard sale on me. Even when Phil was out getting cars ready for us to drive we hung out with some of the other salespeople who were a good group of people. We will be returning to shop when my fiance starts looking for her car next summer!

I worked with James to purchase a used 2011 F150. What a stellar sales person he is... His hospitality put me at ease immediately. I was rather tense because I had driven 5 hours from NC to buy this truck. James and Pearson Mazda bent over backwards to make me satisfied, and they are even DELIVERING IT TO MY HOUSE, and that's 5 hours away from the dealership. It should also be noted that I am a hard to please customer, because I too, am a CAR SALESMAN. James is fantastic, and so is the entire team at Pearson Mazda. I Highly recommend them to the Richmond Area! Thanks guys!

The only down fall is I was used to Fredericksburg Mazda and they wash your car and vacuum it out! I was definitely missing my clean car!

Pearson Mazda was by far the best car dealership I visited when shopping for a new car. I received stellar service from Stephen Sepe (and literally every other employee I encountered), even after having to visit the dealership multiple times (and test-driving two different cars) to make up my mind. Never (seriously, never) did I feel any pressure about buying - Stephen was great at just letting me look around and answered every one of the 4,000 questions I had.

Seriously, if you're even just thinking about a Mazda, swing by Pearson ("the biggest stand-alone Mazda dealership" in either the state or country...) and talk to the great guys there.

We stopped by the dealership while out looking for a preowned vehicle to purchase and when we didn't like the car we went there for, Matt McIver asked what cars we were primarily looking for and searched with their affiliated dealerships as well. Matt found us a great Lexus at another location, offered to go pick it up and have it back there in an hour or so for us to try. We ended up loving it so much we bought it and the whole team worked with us to get it exactly right, with patience and friendly professionalism. Thanks Matt and the Pearson team!

Just bought my first car here and could not be more pleased. Not only did I get a great car for a great price, I also was treated with genuine kindness and respect. I mainly worked with James who was a huge help from the first inquiry about the car, through the sales process, and even checking up to see how I was liking the car afterwords. Buying a car for the first time is a big purchase and can be very stressful but when you get helped by someone like James- it makes the process a lot easier to go through! I am an out of state buyer and Pearson Mazda and salesman Paul Thrasher were helpful in making the process easy. They were quick to agree on a fair sale price for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee 4wd Limited I purchased and worked to get the paperwork processed and shipped fast to me. Were easy to work with 3rd party shipping company also. I am very impressed with the quality of vehicles they sell and describing everything accurately. Down here in Atlanta we have so many shady and no good big chain dealers. Hence the reason I looked out of state. I would definitely recommend Pearson Mazda.

My last new car purchase 8 years ago at another dealership was such an unpleasant experience I vowed never to buy new again but after reading numerous reviews on the new Miata MX-5 I decided to stop in at Pearson Mazda to see for myself. After a couple of test rides on different occasions I decided this was the car for me.
My salesman Matt Mciver was fantastic, no pressure & professional.
The general mgr Mike Smith was a joy to seal the deal with.
I got a great deal on the Miata & a fair deal on my trade in.
Overall this was the best & painless new car experience ever!
I highly recommend Pearson Mazda

Phil Zblewski was very helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable about the vehicle that I was interested in and ended up buying. Jimmy Bryson in finance, was very concise and friendly and made everything clear when it came to the financing part of the deal. I had a great experience at Pearson. I would highly recommend this place to others. I don't foresee any major mechanical issues in the near future, but after being introduced to the service team, I'm sure that the quality of the customer service and professionalism will remain and it should be a straight-forward and painless trip!

Edit: I did take my car by once, about one week after purchasing it, and Jud and the rest of the service crew did a great job with my inquiry and providing an easy solution for me.

Edit 2: I have taken my car in twice now for scheduled maintenance and Jud Dauray and his team have been awesome! Last time, I did not have an appointment and the service department had my car ready to be picked up ahead of schedule! Additionally, I ran into my salesman, Phil Zblewski, who greeted me, asked me how the missus was, and was ver friendly! Keep up the good work, Pearson Mazda!

I called ahead about a flat tire I had/sensor that needed to be replaced and I was told if I dropped it off on my lunch hour it would be completed by end of day. I got a call 45 mins before they closed saying the part was not in stock and it would be in the next day. After going back and forth with Mark on the phone (about the fact that he misheard his mechanic) I was able to get a loaner for the night. The next day, I had not heard from Mark until I called him and was then told my car would not be done until the following day, again. Two days later I finally got my car back for something that absolutely could have been fixed the same day-if I was told the part was out of stock from the beginning I would have gone elsewhere.

All in all, I will NOT be returning to this Mazda dealer as the 3 different people I was in contact with were rude on the phone and in person.

The garage at Pearson will always provide an estimate for major work which is fully competitive with the lowest, bargain basement estimate which you can spend as long as you like seeking out from a mechanic who does not put guarantees behind their work, or provide a late model loaner for free while that work is getting done.

Perhaps they are buttering me up to purchase a new vehicle. I dont care. I will keep bringing in my hoary 2008 Mazda to leave in their good hands whenever the need arises.

I have purchased two Mazda s from Pearson Mazda and this was my third purchase. I have been very happy with Pearson and the Mazda Brand. Kimberly HeerBrandt was our sales consultant and she was awesome. She catered to me as if she was buying the car for herself. She asked me question that I wasn't asked in my last two consultations. She was not so focused on credit and how I was going to pay for the car; she was more focused on finding out what I liked and what was more important to me when selecting a car. I gave her a list of the features I wanted and she stuck to that list. I test drove one car and it was very close but not with all the upgrades I was looking for, she asked me a few more questions, and by the second test drive I found the car I wanted. This was the first time I only test drove two cars and was able to make a confident decision. Even after the negotiations and paper signing, Kim hopped in the car to set up my Bluetooth and explained other features that I may want to use or add later. I will recommend Kimberly to everyone; especially the women that are in the market for a car, Kimberly is a girly girl and she understands how we think . Wink, wink. Pearson Mazda and its associates make the car buying experience easy and painless.

Sadly I do not see myself going back for services ...

Sadly I do not see myself going back for services after my last experience there. I took my car in for a headlight that was out. I was glad they were able to take it without an appointment. However around 2:30 PM I receive a phone call saying that it would cost over $800. I was shocked and I was at work at the time so I had my husband talk to them. He said they acted as if they didn t care that we were taking the car without completing the service. My husband took the car elsewhere and was told that yeah it might cost $800 if XY&Z was wrong with it but we would not know without allowing them to investigate. We allowed them to investigate and it only ended up costing us $230 because everything that you all thought was wrong with it was not. That is all I wanted for you all to actually do investigate and care about the car I bought from you and have kept bringing back for over 9 years but sadly you did not and I will not be returning.

Very disappointed with Pearson Mazda. I had been looking for a used Jeep for quite sometime and found what I was looking for on Autotrader. I verified on the Pearson Mazda website the vehicle and called and talked with a courteous salesman named Phil. I asked repeatedly for the best price on the vehicle and was told that it was being detailed and would be back the following day. After asking repeatedly I was finally given the "best" price which, to my surprise, was $2300.00 more than the advertised price. I asked to speak with the sales manager who suggested I speak with the GM - Mr Smith. I was told that the vehicle was priced wrong and the price was $15,000.00. Very frustrating. I figured the advertised price on Autotrader and the Pearson Mazda website was the price of the vehicle. Evidently not at Pearson Mazda.
Disappointing to say the least.

Awful experience from start to finish. Wrong car was delivered missing roof racks as quoted in sale price- not one person noticed. Dealer offered to install aftermarket remote start- after appointment they tried charging me $500 for one key installation- no communication between managers, salesmen and service. Car has small rust spots (brand new only owned for about 60 days). Disorganized salesman Kyle- I needed to ask a million questions and guide him through steps to get anything accomplished. Registered car in different state-entire process was messed up and ended up registering back in VA. Dakota was unprofessional and extremely rude handling the registration issues (all on their end) back and forth with insurance which took about 50+ days to settle. I have tried reaching out to General Manager Mike Smith multiple times after leaving voicemails- no response. No apologies from anyone in the dealership.
