Paulie's is a pleasant place to eat, but the food isn't really all that good.

Italian food and service here is above par. very tasty. had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. the place has an awesome atmosphere.
Wow one of my friends took my here for the first time i enjoyed it!! I ordered the spaghetti, but they have a good menu, the workers there are so friendly and very energetic, def coming back
I love the food here. Great atmosphere. The cookies are amazing
I ordered the Dela pizza Togo with chicken breast. It was loaded nice thin crust good texture. Toppings were legit and fresh, glad they use kalamata olives and not black olives. The best part of my experience was the order taking. Colton answered the phone professionally, was polite and even addressed me as Mr. Vince after I gave my name. Totally not necessary but I appreciated the sentiment. COLTON WAS EFFECIENT , FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL ON THE PHONE AND WHEN I ARRIVED TO PUCK UP MY ORDER.
Italian sausage pizza is alright. I would try another pizza (more tomato and basil) next time.
Primavera Aglio Olio was a good vegetarian (i think) menu. Plenty grilled vegetables to satiate my veggie appetite.
For vegetarians there are a few pasta dishes and pizzas that are good options in addition to the mushroom burger. Large portions and tasted pretty good.
While not historical, the food is indeed excellent. Highly recommended.
i loved the pasta. it needed a little bit of seasoning and that made it just how i liked it.
Great staff, service, food, atmosphere, and coffee.
Montrose standard for lunch. Eight bucks for half panini and salad. Cucumber water on tap.
I love Paulies! Long standing est.
Great food, awesome staff!
Great place for lunch. The chicken piccata is awesome!
This was my best food and service experience in a high class restaurant, best restaurant ever, highly recommended!
I had the spaghetti and meatballs...wouldn t ever get this dish again. It was nasty!
Food wasn't bad and the place is quite nice. I'd go again.
Pretty good solid food. Nice little touches with the cucumber water etc. Nice experience overall.
This quaint little eatery has been offering some fine cuisine for more than 20 years! Try the Bolognese, you'll love it!
The best soup and salad selection for you health nuts. Their pastas are good too!
Pasta so fresh it almost melts in your mouth. The pasta primavera was lovely!
Super friendly service and amazing food. Handles very large orders well.
I'm a huge pasta fan and they have by far the best chicken Alfredo around. Second to the real thing in Italy! A little pricey but worth it for the taste and portion size. One large portion lasts me 3 meals :)
Oh. My. God. It might be crowded and noisy. It might be hard to get a table during lunch. But the food! Pretty much everything I've tried is amazing.
Great menu and location. I wish it were bigger inside as I have passed it up a few times because it gets so crowded for dinner.
Love the cacciatore. Just to warn you the full size portions are enough for two people.
Italian food
That is delicious and the
Ambiance is cool

The "small" size pasta is just the perfect portion. Delicious fettuccine alfredo. Add chicken to it. Just do it!
This Italian food restraint has some of the nicest staff possible. They helped us pick the food that would be best for us.
Went for a luncheon. The food was fresh and delicious. I also really enjoyed the brownie and the ginger lemonade!!
Nice casual lunch place. Quiet enough for conversation.
I had the grilled vegetable plate which was good. Can't comment on much else.
Been going to Paulie's for many years now and they are always quick, friendly, and consistently delicious. I love their Chicken Piccata in particular but everything I have had there is outstanding. Cozy, yet open environment. Prices are very fair imo, and the portions are perfect. Highly recommend Paulie's if you love Italian food.
Food was excellent. Will definitely come back again when I'm in town.
There's always a line out the door, but it's worth the wait. Counter service that's as helpful and friendly as table service, a decent wine list and the house made pasta is amazing - I recommend the bucatini and the summer salad. The portions are enormous, so plan to split a serving or take home leftovers.
Visited this place on a weekday evening with a group of friends, and the place was full! We had to join two tables by ourselves to seat 7 of us. The ambiance is good. It is mostly a self service restaurant.
Coming to food, each one of us loved what we ordered! The portion sizes are big and filling even if you order a small, so value for money. They have a lot of vegetarian options. I would definitely recommend the canestri alla funghi.
Huuuuuuuuuge portions of pasta. Only get the regular size if you want to bring home leftovers. Not sure if the pasta is made in house, but it sure tastes like it. Big, bold flavors. Great (but not huge) beer and wine list. Counter-service, so you'll have to hit the bar for refills. Parking behind the restaurant. Never had a bad meal here.
Terrific food and a great Houston spot that has solidified itself on the Westheimer landscape
Food is always prepared correctly for the style of Italian they portray, not to mention very good.
I've had the lamb here before and it was very good, well cooked and flavorful. I also had a spaghetti dish here that was supposed to be somewhat spicy but ended up being very very hot, too hot to really enjoy it. The order counter is a nice idea and they always have good wine by the glass.
This place is Hip and unique. Food is delicious and my favorite Italian spot. Parking is limited and the customer service is 5 stars.
Paulie's is amazing! Not only great pastas and excellent Vegge options, but great coffee and they always have an cool and interesting ice cream flavor (sources locally) on the menu. I love love love this place, super affordable and the quality is always fantastic. Laid back atmosphere and cashiers who actually want to chat you up and make real recommendations instead of just taking your money and moving you along so they can get to the next person.
Service is awesome. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Food is pretty good, not spectacular. Pizzas better than sandwiches, chicken piccata is very good. Desserts are amazing. I go by sometimes just to buy the iced cookies.
If you like pasta, you **HAVE TO** come to Paulie's. I am currently on a mission to taste out all of their pasta dishes. I have been here three times in the past 2 months. (I have to drive all the way from Sugar Land to here for their pasta. It's a 40-minute drive if you wonder.) I once had great handmade pasta in Boulder, CO, and I thought I would never taste something this authentic again. Paulie's proved otherwise. The texture of their pasta is chewy and tasty. I have tried their Fettuccini Marinara with Grilled Shrimp, Creste di Gallo, and Canestri alla Funghi. They were all cooked to perfection. The flavors were well balanced. The toasts that came with the pasta dishes were truly evil (in a delicious way:)
I tend to come here either earlier (before 6pm) or late (after 8:15pm) so that I can avoid the crowd. It makes sense that people need to wait for delicious food, right?
Great place to eat I loved it for good Italian food
Great place to eat! It gets crowded so be prepared to wait. Both the paninis and the pastas are delicious - can't go wrong with either. Portions for the large pasta are huge - guaranteed to have leftovers.
Paulie's is your neighborhood restaurant for great food, friendly and welcoming service! Highly recommend this restaurant for brunch or dinner!
I enjoyed the food here. I got their spaghetti carbonara, one of their nightly specials, with a Caesar salad. The dish was quite heavy, but it was good. One issue I had was that, though it was their nightly special, my food took so long to come out that others managed to order, get their food, and finish eating before I got my pasta. Service and quality of food being taken into account, I don't think the prices were justified overall.
Love this place! Been coming for 10 + years. Now it my kids love it as much as my wife and I do. Great neighborhood restaurant.
If you want good food at a great price, then Paulie's is your place. It's got a great vibe and the staff is so welcoming, especially Jenna. You feel like family when you walk through the door.
The food is so good. Have never had a bad meal. Making my way through the menu.
Very reasonably priced for the area, and great tasting basic Italian staples. Would highly recommend!
Been here 3 times now, everytime food is good and good for you. Recommend, the Italian family salad if you want something light, and I would say the lamb is very good.
Absolutely love the Italian family salad, Canestri alla funghi, and my daughters favorite would be the fettuccine Alfredo w grilled chicken. Tried the Bucatini all'Amatriciana to try something new and it s just not for me. But I would definitely come back for my favorites.
I had the pleasure of eating at Paulie's after a random Google Maps search for some Italian food, boy am I so grateful! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Chicken Alfredo and added Bacon, ummmmm! The food was cooked to perfection. We also added a Ceasar Salad which was very refreshing. The staff was very pleasant and definitely added to the wonder atmosphere, which is loaded with great decor which complements the resturant them well. The environment was relaxed and welcoming to all who entered. I will definitely be back and you should definitely try them out... you won't be disappointed! Happy Eatting, enjoy!
Everything is awesome here, especially the cookies. Also try the meatloaf on Mondays and eggplant parmesan on Wednesdays.
I'm just sad I didn't discover this place sooner. Great Italian food with a homey feel. Also, the cold brew is fantastic.
Excellent variety of pasta dishes with noodles made in-house. The "lighter" portion size is a meal itself and if you get the full size, you'll probably wind up with some delicious leftovers. Also serves sandwiches, pizza, and desserts.
One of my top places for Italian food. prices were fair.
Excellent food
But pricy
Tastes fresh
Food was fine, kind of expensive for how simple and plain it was.
Have been multiple times. Excellent food and service. Atmosphere is very inviting.
Italian food, excellent. It was so savory. Definitely worth a return visit. It has a great atmosphere. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.
Service is always friendly. Love the chicken piccata and the fettuccini marinara. Only minor drawback is that they re so popular that sometimes their parking lot is full.
Excellent excellent food. Might be best chocolate cake I ever ate. The rigatoni Bolognese is best in Houston
This is by far one of the best places I've been to eat in downtown. The quality and size is worth far more than what they charge. If you are even close to the area, stop in for some great Italian food.
Food is always great and fresh. Great selection of pastas.
Amazing atmosphere, nice waitstaff. A little pricey for the food size, but it's not hard to split.
Food is good. I got the Italian sausage panini not something i get on a regular basis. From what i noticed they have a good vegetarian selection. Not a whole lot of meat on their menu. A good selection of things out of my normal. Ill be back to try more things like their salmon sandwich. Staff was really friendly. Price is ok not cheap, but what u expect to pay for a selection of that variety. I highly recommend it if u haven't been.
SO tasty, one of those line-up-and-order-and-THEN-sit-down-with-a-buzzer kind of places, but it didn't feel of a fast-er food restaurant. It was very intimate and very cute. Also, the portions were pretty substantial so you come home with plenty of leftovers!
Love the variety of high quality lunch and dinner options
Fast and friendly service, fresh food. I ordered a panini and the bread was absolutely delicious.
Came here on a visit to Houston. Shared a salmon sandwich and vegetable soup, both of which were pretty good. The icing on the cookie, so to speak, were the cow shaped shortbread ones which were both adorable and delicious!
Ohhh I love this character place! The food is so good! The salads and sandwiches are so yummy and I think they have the best cookies in town!!! ... but the best part is the staff! They re all awesome! Five stars to them too!
