We went there for dinner for Sweetest Day and it was all really good. It was good food & good service and we will definitely go back soon. You can sub your dinner salad with their 7 layer salad & that's what we did. Had not had that salad since the Peerless Mill Inn closed and it tasted absolutely wonderful. I'd go back to have that salad with their rolls as a meal itself. But the rest of our meal was delicious, also. A very nice dining experience for Sweetest Day!

We were there for a nice dinner with friends from our ballroom class. They had live music which was lovely. The ambiance was relaxing. The meal was delicious. The salad was okay. I am not a big fan of iceberg lettuce. I prefer romaine, leaf lettuce or spinach. I ordered the salad that comes with the meal. The service was great especially with as large of a group as we had, fourteen. It was a memorable evening!

This place works hard to chase off business repeatedly over the last 8 years we ve lived in Dayton. They must have a loyal enough following that new patrons are blown off repeatedly. The one time we actually did get a table we were in the middle with an absolutely horrible waitress.

But we called days before Christmas and were told the were open Christmas eve but no reservations. We arrive at 530 to a mostly empty parking lot and are told it would be a 4 hour wait for our group of 12. Rude young girl.

I have a feeling their regulars get reservations and the rest are stooges who drink and wait and fill in the gaps.

Oh, we got the crappers the one time we did actually eat here. We went cheap and got the sirloin tips and noodles. Must have be n sitting a long time waiting for us.

Guess we ll never get to eat here.

Haven t had a problem with Oakwood club on Pine Club.

This place has turned into my favorite steakhouse in Dayton. Sure it might not have won National awards, but great food, generous serving sizes, nice atmosphere, wonderful staff... It hits all the right chords.

I attended a birthday celebration at the Paragon in February and had been dreaming about their ranch Dill salad dressing ever since! I finally made it back! The salad was fantastic and the pork chops were beyond fantastic! Don't get intimated by the "dress code" they welcome hungry, well mannered diners! . Oh and the service was excellent even when dining alone.

First time I went here it was the best food I ever had in my life. That was 22 years ago! Went there tonight, biggest disappointment ever. 18oz ribeye was about 8ozs of fat and gristle, first medium steak I've had that was bleeding out on my plate. Must have got the cook from McDonald's. The so called shrimp cocktail was the biggest joke ever 5 little bitty shrimp on a frickin plate. Potato, pathetic. What the heck happened to this place.

In all my 50+ years in Dayton I had never been to The Paragon. Met some friends there for a night of catching up. I ordered from the appetizer menu, the stuffed mushrooms and a side salad. Excellent! One friend got a rib eye and it looked beyond amazing. My other friend got a fish dish and it too looked really good. No room for dessert. Would go here again for a special occasion.

They re way too overpriced and my food that I had ordered was horrible! I didn t eat it at all. The waitress we had was old and VERY IGNORANT! She tried to play us like we didn t have money to tip...I know she mad that the other waitress who didn t wait on us got a $200 tip. Be careful on how you treat people cause it ll come back to you 10 fold. We re never going back..

I have lived in this area for years and had never been here! What have I been missing?!?!? I can't believe how good the food was! The atmosphere was warm and inviting and our server, Claire, was so nice and attentive! I have the filet tips in Stroganoff. Superb! I will definitely be back soon to try more of their menu!

I don't understand the appeal of his place. It's overpriced and the portions are small. The service is always lacking and the atmosphere is almost as boring as the food. No imagination whatsoever.

My spouse and I were without the children and decided to try the Paragon Supper Club the other night. So glad we did. The service was amazing and the steaks were top notch. Could not ask for anything better. We will be returning as soon as we find another sitter. Only suggestion, I would not have the staff recommend Theos Lounge for a night cap afterwards.

Our of all the other steak restaurants in the area, the Paragon has the BEST steaks and seasoning around. Not to mention the amount of food you get for the price you pay, it can't be beat. The employees are extremely nice and the atmosphere is great! 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Just left the absolute worst service experience I ve had at this restaurant. In 35 years I ve had three bad experiences, 3 of the last 4. This is a pattern. From the initial contact with hostess and her suggestion that we contact the rest of the part and ask them to hold off on arriving because they were running behind on our reservation to the apathetic bartenders, the welcome experience was anything but welcoming. Quite the way to start!

The real disaster began to unfold once we finally were seated. The wait staff was completely disorganized, split our table in half and would only deal with (direct quote) their half of the party. The meal took two and half hours to complete with huge gaps between courses. As things progressed i quietly and politely brought the issues to the attention of the captain of the dining room only to be confronted table side, mid meal, by the manager regarding the issues. This was highly unprofessional and made a bad situation worse. No resolution was offered, but rather solicited, at which point I asked that they rally their team and finish strong. Apparently that was read as bring wrong meals, plates so overloaded with onion straws that you couldn t even see the steak, one person missing a meal entirely, and myself finishing my meal with a half full glass of water as opposed to the glass of wine i ordered, twice.

Thankfully the kitchen had it together as the steak was excellent as always.

I write this review because this is the third time in four visits I ve had really bad experiences. This place is and should be the best in Dayton, it s trending away from that. My hope was brining it to the attention the management on duty would make an impact and lead to better results. My impression of the manager is that he is over his head, lacking in experience and training, and completely clueless as to what service, let alone exceptional service, entails.

No offer of any kind was made to try and improve the situation. No follow up from the leadership was ever made. I walked right past the manager as we left and he couldn t even make eye contact let alone offer an apology or ask if things had improved. This is certainly one hell of way to run a railroad.

Perhaps the owners will read this, take this to heart as a wake up call from a life long Paragon disciple, and fix this. It will be a heartbreaking to read that the Paragon is closing and Dayton is loosing one of its icons again. If this is the future of service, this will be the future headline. Please wake up and fix this.

Great atmosphere, nice staff, great service. Just extremely overpriced for the quality of food. If you like bland food. This would be your place. If you are like myself and prefer seasoning. I suggest trying elsewhere. Side note: They have a dress code. So if you are looking for a place people dress up to go to. This is a great place for that.

Don't understand what all the fuss is about. Just an old school steak joint that is waay overpriced. Hash browns and stewed tomatoes?! Wow there's creativity. Service was mediocre, won't go back.

We enjoyed the evening for our 36th wedding anniversary there. The staff was so friendly and attend to all our needs. The food was amazing, large portion and the bottle of wine was excellent. It was our first time there. After making reservation i thought I would look at the reviews, to be honest I was worried they had some bad reviews. But the place was elegant and I would highly recommend that you try it. THANKS SO MUCH for making our evening so special.

Junk.

This was a very high end restaurant a bit too fancy for me, and not very many vegetarian options but they had some of the blue moon beer . It was just a bottle poured into a chilled glass but it tasted like a draft

New York strip was 50% gristle.

New York strip was 50% gristle.
Brussels sprouts were soggy.
There are many more restaurant options where higher quality, at lower prices, dinners can be enjoyed.

Fantastic evening with my wife! Call ahead seating had our table ready only 5-8 minutes after arrival. Once seated our waitress made sure to attend to every possible detail. And both my wife (16oz filet) and I (18oz ribeye) were cooked too perfection. As well as a great cut with little or no fat/gristle. Would easily recommend The Paragon to friends and family.
