Good sellers with good knowledge. Very frindly staff. Price is moderate but excellent quality products!
I really lime this place ever since I was little. It just gets bigger and better. The sales people are great. They have it all and are not pushy to sell you something. It can be a litte expensive but you know your getting quality.
Nice stuff but extremely overpriced! The same gloves they were selling for $140 were $20 on Amazon. Search here but buy online.
I really appreciate the quality of goods here, the clearance rack, and that the sales associates treat you like people (i.e. don't hover uncomfortably nearby like most places, calmly approach and earnestly seek to help). It's wonderful and calm, in a busy city. Plus, I got a $10 giftcard for spending over $100, no strings attached. They just seem to appreciate their customers. A+!
Was at the store a couple days ago and was helped by a security guard Emmanuel even though he s just security he was really helpful and navigated me and helped me buy a Canada goose . Even though it wasn t his job title he stood with me and made sure I was comfortable with the coat I was going to purchase & recommend me to associates downstairs in the ski department for a new board , when I finished my purchases he came to see if I was all good and if I had any more needs , that s class & professionalism you can t teach , not like other stores that security gives you hassle highly recommend people to come shop at paragon sports.
The goto place for sports and hiking equipment. Not the cheapest but it has it all
Good selection of mens gym shorts at a reasonable price. I wear a small which can be hard to find. Bought two pairs. I'd go back for shopping in the future.
Very expensive, scrambled merchandise, there are excellent brands, there is no one to attend.
Placed an online order for a snowboard on Tue night for two day shipping. Was contacted by phone on Wed morning to confirm the order and was told I would receive it on Fri. Contacted them on Sat morning because I had not received the order. They said that the item is not available. The item still shows as available on their site, they never sent any tracking info, or an email telling me the item was not available. I would not recommend ordering online from this retailer.
Good place for your average sporting goods. Basically a Dick's or Sports Authority. No sport has the top end, but is good for entry level.
The clothing is pretty high end though. Can get Patagonia and Canada Goose there fairly easily.
Sports Store A fine sports shop for all types of sports only very expensive and almost every item can be found in stores around the city at cheaper prices and always worth making comparisons.
I went to the store with intentions on buying my fiance's christmas gift. Granted I went there within 15 minutes of them closing but I knew what he wanted and I work next door and that was the only time I had. They made the announcement that the store was closing and then a female sales rep came up to me NO ONE ELSE and said the store was closing and to take the final items to the register. As I was leaving that area I came across an accessory I had been looking for and was about to purchase that as well, when the SAME SALES REP comes up to me and my fiance and says 'OK YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO LEAVE THE STORE RIGHT NOW, EMPLOYEES ARE TRYING TO GET HOME' I was so dumbfounded by the comment that I left all the items I was purchasing behind and when I walked away I said to her 'you know that was extremely rude' and she said 'oh well sorry' and to top it all off as I went to leave I noticed the STORE WASNT EMPTY!!! The store had to have about 30 customers still in there! so where the hell did she get off trying to kick us out of the store like I was some child? I immediately advised someone who seemed like they were the manager and he said he would take care of it but from the looks of these other reviews it seems to be a recurring issue with this store. Well all I can say is thanks PARAGON for SAVING me money!!! I will NEVER shop there again and I will make sure I advise anyone I know
Covers a nice area, and has a variety of products at decent prices especially shoes.
Finest sports store in NYC. They have everything you need for your sport activities.
Was there in a Saturday and it was crowded.
This place has a great choice in sport clothes. Less choice in the more technical gear. No WiFi and no loyalty program
Purchased a second bike with Paragon Sports. Jimmy Ling from cycling was outstanding. Super helpful, knowledgeable and put us to ease. He introduced us to the various bike models. He changed our bike seat and walked us to the counter to buy the bike; held the door open and walked us out with the bike. It felt like we were purchasing a car. Just a great experience
If you're willing to spend some money then this is the place to go for all things related to sports. I was able to get a really nice bag, though it is a bit pricey, the bag sure is great.
Great place to shop. They have a wide selection. I went looking for a nice backpack and found one with the help of Brian in Camping. He was really nice and helped me find the right one. Will return.
Busy (very busy) sporting good store with good discounts sportswear in the basement.
I come here to buy yoga clothing and workout clothing. I tend to buy the stuff that's been marked down. If you don't mind coming in once every few weeks to get a deal then this is probably the place for you.
a really well I found everything
a really good store i found everything i wanted and the seller was really friendly
Worse experience I had with this store if you ever call and a lady name Hayley picks up hang up she is the worse she will not serve your inquiry and will lie about the situation so would Roxanne I called regarding a lost jacket and then waited the 8 days for over weeks no update and no refund and have the audacity to ask me for my card number to manualy send me the money when you can just revert the transaction and than she makes me call chase to have them give me a number which they can t dven disclose on phone I had to have a guy name Erick take care of the case for me 5 stars!!! For him I had to do a chargebackwould chase just to get funds and I would make sure these crooks are reported
They have everything. Its a maze of sporting goods and i have spent time going thru here like its a museum... some very cool stuff.
These guys have the best priced bikes in the city and their service staff is incredibly nice and patient.
You don't need to shop anywhere else. Paragon has everything, the employees know the merchandise, and the prices are competitive. Don't buy online. Just go to Paragon and find what you need and you take it home the same day. It's an amazing store for every sport and activity. I've gotten three different wet suits and other scuba gear, hiking boots, sneakers, yoga gear, camping equipment, an awesome down coat, swimming goggles, etc... Paragon really does have it all!
If you want to be lost in a sports haven this is the place to go. I could literally stay in here for hours. This place has so many things to offer.
We bought 2 pairs of men s sports running shoes, (over $US$330) the sales assistant couldn t have cared less about us, he disappeared into the store room on several occasions and took around 20 minutes per time, (I am sure he must have been taking his break), he was far more interested in serving other customers. Every time we needed a different size or another shoe we had to say - Excuse me, can we have this in size .....etc, he was totally unhelpful. But we persevered and made our purchase. We were in the store for over an hour trying to get shoes to try on. I have big feet and was trying on (and eventually purchasing) men s shoes, he was dismissive, and not interested in making any sale. So sad - as you have a good range, we could easily have chosen more products, but due to his indifference left unhappy customers.
Great service. Came here to get my baseball restrung and fortunately it'll will ready in 30 minutes today. But if they where backlogged, they would've given the estimated time or date when completed. I'm very satisfied with their service.
It's all about the quality and fine choices. At Paragon most sports are covered. The backpack lasts forever and surprisingly they had great colors. My sons went to Israel and enjoyed the backpacks. Perfect size, easy access and good shoulder support.
I have also purchased baseball & soccer equipment here.
Note: they do not have fencing equipment!!!
Incredibly helpful and attentive staff on every department. It's always a joy to shop there.
Wide range of gear. Bags, cloathes, swim gear, cycle gear, a big skate section too. They sell electric skateboards, which are available to test, Which is great.
I love coming here to see the staff compete to sticker your purchases before you check out.
Pricey, but high quality sporting goods store with frequent discounts. I like shopping here and every time have great experience. All my sports clothes are bought there, with rare exceptions.
I enjoy watching people of color get ignored here, it is a shame that the only time we get attention is to check our bags. I love walking behind a few non people of color and watching them walk out without even a look. I walked into there a few weeks ago in a suit and asked to check my bag. I walked right out without letting them.
if you're going to blow triple digits for outdoor gear (even if you buy it from those other places), doesn't it make sense to spend a little extra to make sure you actually like the item or can get a replacement if it fails? The membership fee not only pays for itself with the end of the year dividend and coupon savings, you're going to save alot of tears from things breaking or not working or fitting properly.
Desperately poor customer service and mistreated by store manager Ronnie W. and the floor supervisor. The worse customer service that I had ever encountered for my life!!!! I walked out the store very upset and depressed!!!
All in one sporting goods store. Lots of brands to choose from.
It seems like people confuse a smiling face with a helpful staff. I would give this store zero stars if I could. I walked in with a flat tire on my bike, and the lady at the entrance tells me that "we don't do flats here." Then I figured I might as well take advantage of the free tune-ups, and they said it would be ready 2 days later. 20 minutes later while I'm on the train, I get a voicemail that the tune-up is complete. Needless to say the mechanics didn't do any work on the bike. The only bright spot I can take comfort in is that it's unacceptable service like this is why stores are going out if business. Why deal with poor service when I can get better and cheaper online? You stay classy, Paragon...
This is a new york institution with the great feel of an old sporting goods store. I always want to buy something when I come here despite often not needing anything.
This store has everything you could need, but it also has the least helpful staff I ve ever seen. I was in there recently trying to buy a snowboard, boots and a host of other things. The staff was not only unhelpful but incredibly rude. I decided to leave, and I bought everything ( spent a lot of $$$) somewhere else. There are so many places to shop in nyc, I ll go somewhere where it s not a miserable experience.
Great offer of various sports. If you find cheaper price on the internet, just to show the mouth of the box that they cover at the time and still have a small discount. I did it a few times. Called Price Match.
a lot of goods for sports, I ll return to this store, but I m putting a star for what I was promised one thing and did another
Great watch selection - Robin was a marvelous helper when it came to choosing the right gear.
The only cons - no nike apple watch for running available
Not sure why they even play music in here when the store basically just blasts employees paging each other nonstop. Get headsets or something it ruins my peaceful shopping experience
I used to really like this store and had bought camping equipment from them. But I will no longer give them my business because I've learned they carry Canada Gross coats, and other coats with real fur trim. I'd rather find sporting goods and outdoor supplies from a a more ethical business that doesn't support horrible companies like Canada Goose. Stop carrying fur and I'd love to come back.
Great selection for alot of sports but a bit pricey.
I bought some shoes here and very explicitly asked about the return policy and if they could be worn outside as a test run. I was told that was fine as long as I returned them within 30 days. Depending on the condition, I could get a refund or store credit. What wasn t said is that the refund policy is to be unworn and the store credit is only for that department.
The misleading information is bad enough, but when I spoke to the manager, I was told that I must be confused because the employee who helped me had been there for eight years and it s not possible that he said that to me. Apparently, eight years of employment means you re completely incapable of miscommunication or misrepresenting a policy for a sale.
Good products and sports brand, great assortment, friendly. It is not cheap
Great store, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Doug helped me find ski boots that are a perfect fit. Very nice after being in a store (REI) where I didn't get any help.
I went there to find something very simple and basic. A jump rope and yoga gloves. I got both with the assistance of a lovely young lady. I am be going back on Sunday. I am in the market for a "battle rope." I hope that I can find it.
Great place to buy stuff and get a plastic Paragon Sports bag that comes with every purchase
Well, I'm forever done with Paragon Sports. Horrible experience, bad customer service. Here's the story:
We purchased a Boosted Board from Paragon Sports. According to Boosted Board, YOU have one month to return the board to the store. Well, we were well within our 1 month return-time yet Paragon Sports decided to pull a fast one and decline to accept our return after having called them first to acknowledge they would accept a return. Got to the store and the manager, can't recall his name, decided that it was like a new car. Once it's been ridden and used, they won't accept it back.
We then called and complained to Boosted Board that this was happening at this store. Boosted Board ensured us that Paragon Sports HAD to accept the board back as they have some sort of agreement. Seems like either that manager didn't know about this agreement or decided to try and pull a fast one on us. Regardless, Paragon Sports eventually accepted the return in full after we had to spend hours trying to return the board.
Boosted Board as a company is great and if you're in the same predicament, I highly recommend you call Boosted Board or whatever manufacturer of your original purchase was to ensure that Paragon Sports accepts your returns.
Some of the workers were nice but we were treated pretty poorly there and it's just not worth ever going back to them.
Place is massive, which is good and bad. Good because they basically have everything sports related you're looking for. Bad because it's makes it harder to find what you're looking for. In store labeling and directions could be better.
Helpful and accommodating staff. Store was clean and well organized. Have stuff other sports stores don't have.
Got my skis RTV, and they ended up staying in their shop for more than four weeks without being sent out. Salesman in Paragon do not care about customers at all and give wrong information deliberately. They just want to stick their commission sticker onto the items we purchase. I called customer service for several times and every time they said they would call me back, which were merely excuses to hang off the phone. Do not deal with them if you wish to be treated as customer when you have problems. REI is a good alternative with much better customer service.
They used to be great. Sadly not anymore.
Spent a lot on running shoes per sales folks recommendation but ended up being a wrong fit and unfortunately is now past their 30 day return window.
Just buy online next time!
The assistants are really patient and knowledgeable there. They helped us choose shoes and socks for my Spartan race. Definitely worth it.
They have almost everything you could imagine. But navigating the store is frustrating if you're not a regular. It's a confused mixture of spaces that previously didn't exist as a whole. Likely adjacent property acquisitions that were joined over the years.
Wonderful specialty store. The prices are higher then what you'll find on amazon but the quality and the staff make it worth the extra money.
The precise place to find everything you can think of in sports, water sports, land sports, hiking, tennis, badmington, cycling, mountaineering, spartan, triathlon, marathon, water polo, diving, Olympic gymnastics with latest fashion clothing models, watches, GPS's, everything and today there was gourmet promotion of helafos5, spirits, and great deals in all departments.
Prices are super high but it's okay as long as it's the center of the city. Greatest sport equipment choice. Recommend to at least come in and try/compare before you buy.
A NYC icon and perhaps my favorite store of all time! I've been shopping here for 20 years and stop in several times a month. Anything you want from tennis rackets to hiking boots to biking gear to camping tents to running sneakers...great quality and huge selection. A fun and addictive place to shop in the center of Manhattan!
Thieving frauds. When you're unsure about buying something they sell you on their incredible returns policy to convince you it's safe to buy something you're unsure about. Then they refuse to honor it when you try to.
After 3 or 4 employees give you identical rehearsed speeches they're clearly used to giving since this is clearly a long running scam, the manager comes downd to give you ultimatums. You can have store credit to spend at the same dump that's mugging you or leave. The one I got was a real piece of work. And so smug you can tell it's their favorite part of the job. Again, totally unsurprised and unrepentant. Because this is not some one-time anomaly, it's company policy.
I've worked in customer service myself so I'm never bothered when retail employees aren't bubbly rays of sunshine I get it but this wasn't that. These <colorful language> very obviously enjoy taking customers for a ride and are too experienced doing it.
Not done with these cons by any means. I'll see them in small claims as soon as I read up on how to file.
The elite in sporting goods. Unlike the Big name sports stores, these guys specialize in the elite gear for all activities. Great selection as well.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Helped with sizing rock climbing and running shoes.
I wish I got the name of the gentleman who helped me today. I needed a replacement ratchet for the ankle strap of my binding which they did not have on the floor. He went up to the 5th floor and found one for me and fixed my binding.
What s his name so I can make sure to find him when I need new equipment?!
Great sporting goods store with huge selection but pricey
WORST OF THE WORSE!!
LIARS!!!
UNPROFESSIONALS!!
THEY SELL THING THAT DO NOT HAVE!!
WAIST OF TIME!!
