The 2 stars are only for my previous experiences here. Last night s visit gets 0! Very rude and incompetent staff both at the men s sneakers department and at checkout! The guy left us waiting for 20 minutes and then came back and said he forgot what shoes we asked for! So we ended up staying until the store closed, not our fault! Then at the checkout counter, the associate named Kaela was so rude that if it weren t already late, I would ve asked to talk to her manager about her attitude! We approached her with a smile and said hi, and she did not reply, did not smile, did not even look at us while ringing up our purchase and did not even hand us our bag, I had to grab it with the receipt and she did not even say bye or anything! It s not my fault if you re unhappy with your job, don t take it out on the customers.
I will definitely think twice before I set foot in Paragon sports!

Great prices and really helpful service from people who know their stuff.

I go to this store every year but this year was the worst. The sales rather talk to each other than help you with a don't care attitude. I might as well buy it online since there is more selection online than in store.

Paragon sports is easily the best place to go for any sporting goods or even just clothing in general. I doubt that there s anything in those departments that they don t have. There s so much square footage, and they pretty much fill the entire space. The staff will definitely be able to help you find whatever it is that you may need, and don t be afraid to ask for help, because the store is daunting.

My holygrail is Bryant Park and Paragon sports. First time to skate properly and frequently was Bryant Park, first proper pair was from paragon sports. Guys with knowledge always appreciated.

If it's sport related, and you need/want it, it's probably on hand.

Paragon sports sells tortured animals for nyc's finest wannabe's. Until they drop Canada Goose and all fur trim..no way they get my money for swim or bike gear. Stop supporting animal abuse, please.

The tennis section is great. Elizabeth is amazing and has a lot of knowladge regarding all tennis gears. If you are trying to find the best tennis gear she will help you. You can get your permit there as well.

The main thing about Paragon is that they have a gigantic selection. It is also great to browse and see what new inventions that they have for your sport. However they are a little pricey. Bring coupons because they match prices.

This store is official. Excellent selection, customer service and brands carried. Its NYC so they can get sold out of certain items here and there, so shop early when possible.

They also have electric skateboard for demo that you can try out inside the store.

After several slippery hikes in sneakers I decided it was time to invest in hiking boots. Living in NYC I didn't want to spend a ton of money on boots I'll use a few times a year but wanted to make sure they would give me good grip and stability. A friend who's an experienced hiker recommended Paragon and it really is THE place to go, even with the constraints of the pandemic. An associate named Wesley helped me and he was fantastic. He measured my size and picked 4-5 different pairs to try on. He was very knowledgeable about the benefits of each one for the type of hiking I'm planning to do. In addition to the excellent service they have a little faux rock bridge that you can use to judge how much traction each boot gives you, which is really crucial. I found the perfect pair of boots and they were on sale for a much lower price than I've seen anywhere else. Everyone in the store was friendly and helpful, and they're doing a great job of making sure everyone wears a mask, uses hand sanitizer when entering and stays far enough apart. I'll definitely be back!

Paragon has a variety of all kinds of sporting goods, not cheap bootleg stuff but quality and brands for a descend price. They have great sales, that's when you can safe a lot of money. And they do winter ski trips. My favorite sport store over all!

It's like a big box sporting goods store with a New York City soul. Appeals to the masses, but perhaps not to the die hard outdoor/sport enthusiasts. Staff is attentive and helpful.

What a store. So many articles, options and a quality staff.

Impressive assortment of store items, for outdoor and sports

This is the go to place for ANY type of sporting goods you need. Super convenient to get to in Union Square, and they have some great sales sometimes.

Other pluses:
1) They have a free Tuesday night run club
2) A pickup location for some races
3) Knowledgeable staff

one of new york's largest stores, this has something for almost every sports fan!

I went here to checkout the bicycles ended up buying a watch. The upper floor is not available for customers only the main floor and bottom floor. The lower floor has a 40 to 50 percent off sale so I bought a at 40% off.

We like the store but execution during covid is a little lacking. My wife called Tuesday night at 6:30PM to ask a question about ski boots. The lady who answered the phone said she would put us on hold while she went to ask somebody. We were on hold until 7:00PM when the store closed at which point the lady who put us on hold, accidentally picked up the phone thinking we had hung up after being put on perma-hold. She said "Uh oh" then just hung up.

Salespeople like Wesley Canini are why I continue to shop at Paragon Sports. I wanted to get a second opinion on a pair of hiking boots I had purchased online. Instead of trying to "upsell" me by pushing a more expensive boot, Wesley was honest enough to reassure me that the boots I purchased were top of the line. Of course in hindsight, I wish I had gone to Paragon Sports first but was in a rush to get the boots, hence the online order. I ended up buying a pair of hiking socks (Wesley knew exactly the socks I needed). Paragon Sports never disappoints. I've been shopping here for years. The salespeople are top notch, and Wesley certainly exemplified what fantastic customer service is all about!

Nice place lots of stuff, clothing is very price, all other items are ok. Good discounts if you buy out of season products.

A wide selection but the staff are very pushy and it can be hard to find things by yourself.

The section for snowboarding jackets is different than the section for walking around jackets.

I love shopping in paragon one of the wear house associate name keysean help me find a nice pair of sneakers for my child, thanks again keysean.

Great deals, however, I am writing this review to compliment the quality of service. Big thanks to Wesley and his help in the shoe department. His efforts do not go unnoticed.

I will say, the store's music is entirely too loud. Bring headphones!

Various brands with Seasonal sales. Pricy but worth investment for some sport gears.

A super fat outdoor store, has pretty much everything the heart can desire. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but is huge inside. If you are missing a backpack, for example, I don't think there is a store with a larger selection.

Sexist. Went in looking for a technical winter coat for a woman-- all the had was fashion.

Poor service, bitter representatives who gave me sass. I just wanted my ice skates sharpened. Took 30 minutes over their conservative estimate.

Any and all sports/ activites, no bs. Sadly since Modells is gone Paragon is the only game in town.

I needed running shoes and I wanted to talk to someone that would be able to direct me towards the right shoe.

They had a running specialist, John h. I highly recommend talking to him if you have any questions about running or the right kind of shoe for your foot!

Terrible customer service. "We're too busy to look for that for you" should not be an option.

I went to REI and they took care of me. I shan't be back to paragon ever.

One of the best for selection. They really cover alot of their bases with sports & recreation equipment. Service....meh. Know what you're looking for, get in & get out.

Classic place, this store has pretty much everything and they have the staff to help you find it. It takes a little getting used to to learn where everything is but again the staff is helpful and they will point you to the right equipment or what you are looking for.

It is place that you can find all kinds of sportswear footwear of all kinds

This store had recently gone through remodeling on the ground to accommodate the new wing of the athletic shoes section that was moved from the basement. Its a floor plan they should have created from the get go because the shoes department is their biggest store traffic. The new shoe department is modern and stylishly designed. This is my go to store to buy anything athletic and winter jackets.

Terrific selection of sports wear and equipment. Process are high, but look for sales and clearance.

The staff I interacted with were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. Props to Mo in footwear, Jim in aquatics, and Renzo in bikes. They have a huge selection of footwear, swim goggles, and bike helmets. I appreciate that I was able to take my time to try everything on for size and to ask the staff questions. I never felt rushed or pressured to buy. I left the store feeling good about the purchases that I made.

Went to check out outdoor shoes - Johnny was so helpful, helping me with multiple sizes in multiple shoes. AND knowledgeable - he owned a couple pairs I was looking at and talked to me about each one.

We went to Paragon for ski boots. Mike in the ski boot department was incredibly helpful and clearly an expert in the field. I have skied the last 20 years, and truly appreciated the patience, kindness, and knowledge mike showed us. It was an extremely busy evening and we never felt rushed or not taken care of. Someone give Mike a raise or a managerial position because this guy delivers esteemed customer service. I will be returning to ONLY Paragon for my ski gear questions or purchases. Mike should give online tutorials about ski boots and fit because that dude has knowledge.

Scott in the tennis department is an absolute expert. He was so helpful in idientifying the right racket for me and was extremely kind and patient as I shopped around. One of the best shopping experiences I have had in a long time. Thanks Scott!

Great selection of merchandise that is often hard to find in stores. Hit or miss on the helpfulness of the sales associates.

****Please do not shop at "Paragon Sports".........they are selling "fur" from animals (coyotes) that are tormented and tortured.
.....These animals have to suffer to make these scumbags rich.

There is a lot of experts to help you find what you are looking for. Also the staff is very polite. They carry all sports gear including hiking and camping gear.

Huge store. Never have the simple things I need. They do not carry vivobarefoot shoes

Good place with a lot of variety of sports products

Not impressed with the customer service. Received a pair of defective boots. Was originally told I could return them, but later told that since I had worn them I could only exchange them. Then was informed that they no longer had my size in stock so I could only exchange them for a different size. This turned out to be okay, but 4 months after I got the boots they've worn a hole. I contacted Paragon Sports and was told they no longer accept returns and that I need to talk to the manufacturer directly.

A sports "super store" - has been around forever. Great helpful staff and good prices. What's not to like?

Unique one stop sporting goods shop with wonderful staff

It can be a bit expensive here, but they have great inventory and the staff has always been very helpful.

I generally have given up on retail store all together but this place is the exception. They have tons of staff who are really helpful.

I first have to thank podiatrist Dr. Jonathan Richards for telling me my foot problems (painful bunion and fallen arches) would be solved by going to Paragon and asking for Carlos R. in the footwear section. I was a little skeptical, but I was desperate!

Well, I would can say: Carlos not only found me the right footwear, but his patience, his insights, his overall consideration and determination to make sure I got everything right, was amazing. I never would have thought that anyone, especially someone at such a huge, busy store like Paragon would be willing and able to take the time to make absolutely certain I got the items that were most perfect for me. Every business, not just sporting goods, needs a Carlos. And Carlos deserves all the praise in the world. I hope Paragon and everyone who shops there knows how great this person is!

It is essential if you are looking for material and sportswear. The attention was very good and in Spanish.

Went for blade sharpening, really fast service,super helpful,genuinely nice staff, and very convenient spot to get to.

This is my first stop when I need sporting goods, a backpack, a coat, or some shoes/hiking boots. They have an awesome selection and they're a local institution, so you get to support a small business to boot when you shop there. That's totally a hole-in-one!

This place really has it all, all different sports and a wide selection of items to choose from. The service here is impeccable and the staff is quite knowledgeable about what you're looking for. If you are in need of a new item for the sport you love, this is where you should go.

Love this place. Shame it's expensive. Staff knowledge is probably worth it.
