Visited Paradise Point in early November 2013 - what a terrific place to relax and enjoy the San Diego sunshine. The grounds are beautiful, with lots of little lagoons and seating areas. The restaurants are great - we hosted some friends at Baleen and it was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again!

Communal shampoo bottles that don't work, I asked three times to get the communal shampoo bottle fixed. The communal shampoo is bolted to the shower wall, like in a bus stop bathroom. Super nice place. Also sweet patio decoration

I love this resort I have been twice, two years apart. Beautiful renovations have been done on the rooms but a few simple things have been missed. Also the room floors don t seem to get cleaned daily. My feet were black after showering. Prices on the resort are high but that s typical. It is truly beautiful, I love that their is a family pool and also an adult pool.

Our stay was amazing. We were able to stay on the Bayside and the kids loved it. We stayed for a little family staycation. We had 4 rooms but only one was Bayside, that's the one we hung out all day at.
The view of the water all day was so beautiful. We rented kayaks and stand up paddle boards and the everyone enjoyed that. It would be nice if there was a pick up service after. When playing all day the last thing we are thinking of is getting the equipment back on time. And yoi have to row or paddle it back, so be aware of that.
There is always staff going around cleaning so of you need anything you can use your phone, there is an app they suggest you use, and notify them of what you need (Towels, trash pick up, a ride around etc. ) they were pretty quick.
Parking for each room seemed to be real close by. Everyone had an assigned parking so you would always be close. Then there are guests parking which was a pretty big lot.
Our first night we had a wedding reception next door and we thought it would not go great but the insulation is pretty good. You could barely hear whats going on outside or next door.
The staff were very helpful and knowledge about the resort. Everything felt clean.
The only complaint I had was that in 2 of our rooms the tub was super slow to drain probably because of all the same that goes down it daily but it was annoying.

Excellent Resort I have been coming here for years good conference good amenities very self contain once you're here everything is available to you no need to step out service is excellent you're also somewhat centralized you can get to most part of San Diego from here without too much difficulty I would give it 5 stars

The rooms are dated feeling despite some upgrades in the bathroom (I can only speak for my room, possibly others are nicer). In the bedroom area of my room, there are no curtains, only super cheap white plastic slatted blinds, so a lot of light still leaks through. The worst part, however, is that my room smells horribly moldy.

The staff, however, is super friendly and nice. The lobby area where you check in is very nice. My room is huge and right on the water, so those are definitely bonuses, but it's certainly far from luxury feeling. There aren't even any glasses in the room, (in the bathroom or anywhere) for having water. Only a couple paper type cups for coffee.

I am here for a conference, but definitely wouldn't stay here by choice. The mold smell is a deal breaker for me.

Super expensive for what you get. And every service is an extorsion. The bonfire on the beach is $200 for 9 marshmallows! There is no room service because of covid (I really do t get it when they let everyone enter the pool). So we had to clean our room for 5 days. The resort fees are outrageous for what you get as well as parking ($40 per day). The room floor was not even clean. We cleaned everything ourselves. The covid limitations stopped after check-in. The pool was crowded with nobody limiting access.

The location is nice though and rooms small but comfortable

It is a chill environment, love the bungalow type rooms. Resort is right on the beach. The staff are very helpful and nice. Good restaurants on site and the best business meeting facilities with yummy catering and ocean views

On a private 44-acre island with a mile of beach, this stylish resort is 2 miles from SeaWorld San Diego.

Upscale rooms feature flat-screens, Wi-Fi and minifridges, plus coffeemakers and patios; some provide bay views. Suites offer sitting areas and microwaves, and some add fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. Bungalows offer separate sitting rooms and dining tables, and an upgraded suite includes a kitchen.

Thera are 5 pools and 4 restaurants, including a breezy waterfront grill, plus a spa, a marina and an 18-hole golf course. Additional amenities include a fitness center, lawn games, and tennis and basketball courts. Parking is available (fee).

The resort is peaceful. There are so many different kinds of birds that live here. Our room is beautiful - they have all been recently remodeled and it's cozy & very clean. I love the vibe here - just calm and quiet. There is an adult only pool, which is nice!

We where expecting a lot more from this place what a disappointment! Our stay time also had to get cut in half! Because of the poor service, we asked the cleaning service to mop our Floors everyday we where there and it didn t happen there was spiders crawling in the bathroom and bedrooms, I don t recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a great experience.

The resort itself was okay, but their employee Priscilla was one of the most rude, disrespectful employees of any organization I've ever known. My company paid for a training summit, and at night, Priscilla was disgustingly drunk with her friends and was aggressive with hotel guests. It's a complete embarrassment that they employ such unpleasant and utterly unprofessional employees. I do not recommend staying here AT ALL until they rethink their staffing decisions.

-- Also, I believe management may have spoken to one of the other guests about this incident. If contacted by management, or given a contact e-mail, I'd be happy to elaborate on this review.

Overall you cannot beat the location, close to everything you could want to do within San Diego. The resort itself has beautiful landscape with fruit trees and flowers, the beaches are beautiful and the private patio was a huge plus. I can not say enough about how beautiful it was.

The downside; for a resort- not much if anything is included. There is an amenities fee which is understandable for the upkeep of the grounds, but the prices at the gift shop, resturants and spa and severely over priced compared to other resorts. I feel very little value is placed on the overall customer and their experience while staying and feeling like they got their money's worth while staying. Although the staff is generally pleasant, there was a offputting response from them any time they were asked a question.

Overall I feel that while the resort itself was gorgeous and we did enjoy our stay in San Diego immensely, I would like to see Paradise Point be more attentive to their customers needs, make more of an effort to provide some included amenities to their guests, and more value placed on the investment the guest is making when choosing this resort over competition, that does have more included amenities at comparable rates.

We got a newly remodeled room with a beautiful view. Quiet and so relaxing. Didn't have a chance to check out the pools or water craft (can rent there). Great place to get away from "busy"!

A really cool place to stay or attend a conference. Great views and great staff. The meeting facilities were great with lots of options and space for conversations. Rooms could use some updating, but they re not horrible.

Imo this is totally overpriced. We paid 1700 for 4days, but we get 3-4 star rooms, with old and moldy bathroom., dirty rooms, always dust behind th beds and cabinets, and spiderwebs everywhere.

Rooms were great, clean and modern. Food was great on location, and it's proximity to sea world made it the perfect spot to stay. Every interaction with the staff was pleasant and exploring the resort was rewarding. The view on the bay was beautiful.

We came down to San Diego for our honeymoon. We picked paradise point as our destination. Looked clean and secluded online. We arrived on a Tuesday a we were driven by the bell hop to our room. We immediately noticed this was not going to be good. We were stuck in between two rooms of teenagers with no adults. For the next few hours we had screaming, walls being banged and multiple attempts of people trying to come through our conjoined room door. I called 3 times to complain. Finally at 10 30 pm we had to pack our bags and move to a new room. It was a downgraded room. I was told they were sold out and this was the best they could do until the morning. The following day we were told to leave everything in our room and the bell hops would move everything to our new 3rd room. When we came back from Seaworld we noticed everything had been moved to a very nice beach front room but there were a few things missing. A yeti mug and two bags of groceries didn t make the trip. After complaining to the manger about our situation, we waited to hear if the items ever turned up. Nothing ever did. So if you plan on going here in the future beware of leaving items in your room. Also this resort is way over priced for what it is. Nothing is included with your stay. There were people BBQING on their porches and at the pool everyday. Which gave it a run down public park feel. Drinks are around $15.00 a piece and food is around $17 for a burger. I personally will never go back to this resort. Definitely a disappointment.

Don't let the Negative fool you.. There is nothing negative about this place..
Every but of paradise.
A reminder of my Cancun / Hawaii/ Thailand/ Michigan trips all in one.. From tropical landscapes to beachfront bungalows. Room service a d hotel staff to greet you a d take care of your very need. I would call 4.5 star... a Lil updating on beds (too hard) and microwaves in room . I would of also like to see towel art for a destination hotel, but all in all relaxing refreshing clean and and oasis from everything and allowing you to really relax.

Absolutely terrible experience. Our first room was filthy, grimy and spelled like mildew. In addition, we were welcomed by an ant farm in our bathroom. And to top it off, we couldn't open the blinds to our room as a family reunion containing over 30 people were parked 3 feet from our doors facing our room. We were on display as if we were a zoo exhibit. After several complaints, we were finally moved to another "beach front" bungalow, which faced a courtyard of other rooms, and not the beach as advertised. There were 10 Kayaks parked on the beach closest to our room, causing danger to our 16 month old daughter who we couldn't let our eyes off of for more than a second or she'd get hurt on the Kayaks. The hotels response; "Sorry there's nothing we can do". Awesome.

This place is a joke. It's nowhere near a 4 star resort. It's 2 at best. Save yourself from aggravation and wasting money and go elsewhere.

Fantastic weekend getaway. Great location in San Diego area where a vehicle is not needed. We used the services of Uber for 3 days. The staff, restaurants and property made for a well needed break. The Spa, the pools, steam, sauna, jacuzzis, fire pits all well received and utilized. Cannot wait until the renovations to the beach side units are complete.

Do not try to set up a couples massage over the phone with this business! I called a few weeks in advance to schedule a massage for a friend and I. I specifically asked for two massage therapists to be available for both of us. When we arrived, the receptionist gave us access to the locker rooms. We changed into robes and then walked to the waiting area. I waited about 5 minutes until a massage therapist came and introduced herself to me and then escorted me to the room that I will be getting a massage in. 50 minutes later, when the massage was over, I was told that a massage therapist was not made available for my friend. My friend traveled all the way to the spa only to be told that his appointment was not correctly booked. I can't imagine how bad this scenario would have been if I came to this spa with a significant other. I have zero trust/confidence that the employees of this business can book an order for two correctly. Even with this meltdown in service they weren't able to offer any massage discounts for their mistake. I will personally never visit this place again!!

*I highly recommend for everybody to avoid scheduling a massage for two over the phone for The Spa Paradise Point*

The first day there everything that could go wrong did go wrong. The line was super long for check in and then the lady was rude. They were supposed to text me when our room was ready and I had to call after 2 hours of waiting to find out it was ready they just didn't text me. Getting a ride on the property was a 15 to 30 min wait everytime. A few times I had to call twice because no one came. They have an app for you to use but it doesn't work. The wifi is horrible! Everything is very expensive but that would be ok if it was worth it through the quality or service but it totally is not. The food at barefoot bar and the poolside place is more like overpriced fair food. The restaurants need to stay open later. Especially the poolside place. Housekeeping never would refill our coffee pods or cups and I had to call almost every day to get them. One day the staff took our patio chair even though we used it every day. We had to call and get it back. The location is nice and the grounds are pretty so I gave 2 stars but really... the rooms are not nearly as nice as the website leads you to believe and I wont be coming back. Not worth it. Oh also there is a theft problem there. The first day someone stole my husbands flip flops from off our patio even though they were hidden so they came looking for stuff to steal. Our Air conditioning went out and didnt work the last night we were there which made the room very hot and uncomfortable and our baby woke up because it was so bad and I got to be up with her all night because it was so hot. They didnt even apologize only a "the whole grounds are out and we are working on it"!

I'm not impressed with the rooms. The website makes it look better than what it really is. The outside is run down and the inside has one chair for a room that sleeps 4 people. The beds are as hard as a rock. I am here for a conference and am disappointed at what we had to pay to get these rooms.

It was a great place close to sea world. At the hotel it has feeding packets to feed the ducks. In a restaurant they have a shark pond. I think the restaurant was called the foot. The room looks like a mini house inside... Great TVs. It s a great family place

My wife and I brought our 3 kids (3,9,13) for a six night stay.
We were excited because of the online pics and great reviews about perfect for families. It was at best just ok.

Negatives:
1. When we moved into our room the first night we noticed it wasn t the same layout as pictured on the website. Once we brought it to the front desk s attention, they informed us that there are only a few rooms with that specific floor plan. They moved us to a new room (the one we ordered) 2 days later. Because it was water front it would include a $75 per day up charge.
The rooms are alright but not well stocked, which brings me to number two.
2. The housekeeping is TERRIBLE!
we had to call and have housekeeping return to clean the room every. single. day.
They make beds, quick sweep, and fill towels...that s it.
No clearing of used glasses, towels, putting furniture or pillows back where they belong, wiping down counters, restocking of water, glassware, lotions, soaps etc.
The first day we didn t realized they even came until noticing the bed was made.
The sliding door to the bathroom broke which we informed maintenance about but was never fixed.
3. The grounds are not well maintained.
Cigarette butts, liquor cans, bottles, wrappers etc. litter the grounds.
The miniature golf course is hilariously unplayable because of the long/dying grass. My daughter and I had more fun making fun of it than playing it.
4. Number 3 is a result of the fact that this resort is a party place at night...like Daytona Spring Break partying. The entire week was LOUD. Don t get me wrong I like to party as well but at a resort that is family friendly there is no enforcement by the property. I had to go 4/6 nights and tell the neighbors (both sides and behind us) to wrap it up. This was at the earliest 11:30pm and latest 1:30am. This was not the same group each night mind you.
5. The beach is a mess. When we brought this to the attention of the resort they informed us that the beach is technically public property which I totally get. But the resort uses paradise point almost exclusively. Guests should not have to clean out liquor bottles, cigars, cigarettes etc. out of the fire pits that they boast on their site, to roast marshmallows.

Positives:
Staff is very friendly.
Food is above average for a resort.
Pool area is nice.
On property rentals are fun.

I somehow ended up with the task of planning my family reunion last year...actually I opened my mouth and volunteered (not completely sure why). There are roughly 60 of us an we can be a handful, we tend to have a lot of gatherings and like doing crazy events. I looked at about 6 resorts in the San Diego area. Kona Kai resort, Lowes Coronado Bay, Bahia, Catamaran, La Jolla Beach resort and Paradise Point resort. I traveled out to San Diego from NY and spent a long weekend checking them all out. I was stood up at Kona Kai by whomever had been talking to me for months, I was shown around by a caterer whom really new nothing about the resort other than food. While we walked around there were multiple people smoking in the mail common areas, that was a definite NO GO for me. Lowes Coronado Bay was great and the girl (Andrea?) was fantastic. However the resort seemed a little cold and "conference looking" even though they have a lot of kid friendly activities. Bahia and Catamaran are owned by the same company and are both nice. Catamaran was my second choice, the grounds are nicely landscaped and they have a TON of family activities. Unfortunately, the grounds always seemed loud and it was impossible to feel like you had the resort all to your self. With a group of 60 it was really important to me that we had enough room to spread out so when we did family activities we weren't bothering other guests. La Jolla was just too far out of San Diego and didn't really have anything going on besides the beach...and apparently you have to watch for sharks (WHAAAAT?!) From the beginning Paradise Point was my favorite, but I was concerned about the overall price. I was working with Kristin Miles, she was fantastic! She was always prompt getting me information and was clearly very knowlegable when it came to handling large groups. After speaking with Kristin regarding price it was not an issue, in fact I felt like I really lucked out with the overall value. I worked with Nicole after the reservations were made and she was also fantastic! The grounds are stunning and make you feel like you are in Hawaii. The resort is large enough that we didn't feel like we were crowding or bothering anyone else. In fact, we felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves since we were able to have almost an entire area of bungalows with a pool. The food is good and they have lots of options. They last night the resort went above and beyond and customized a menu for my family at Baleen. I should probably add in, I had procrastinated and they had 3 hours notice for the dinner and did a fantastic job. I also had planned a scavenger hunt which went all over the resort, not only did the resort not mind at all the we were running around like crazies they helped out whenever they could. I planned the "Pugh Family Olympics" and found a spot with more than enought room. The location is also perfect, it's really close to Sea World and has it's own beach so there were plenty of things to do to keep everyone busy. At night you have a perfect view of Sea World's fireworks. Rooms were clean and nice and staff was incredible. For months after my reunion I had thank you cards and phone calls from my family raving about how perfect everything had been. I could go on and on with POSITIVE things about Paradise Point Resort, but I really hope if you're looking into resorts you'll check it out for yourself. I won't stay anywhere else in San Diego. The Pugh Family loves you!!

The pictures on the website CLEARLY are not what you will see when you stay here. The place was not well taken care of, the maintenance lacked considerably, the grounds were not well taken care of, there was trash and junk left by other guests that were not cleaned up, our room was not sanitary and we had to request it be cleaned again as there were dirty handprints and smudges around the doors, door handles and light switches, and there was even a dirty washcloth left in the bathroom folded up as if it was cleaned. There were spiders and spiderwebs all over the room and a dead spider on the floor, which if the floor had been properly cleaned and mopped, would not have been there. Very disappointed in the place and will not stay ever again.

What a beautiful resort... Hidden from the main road by a wall of trees keeps it feeling like you're away from the crowd. My company threw an awesome summer lunch here that included water activities & food to feed the fish & ducks (AKA swimmy snacks & quack snacks!). There's a walkable observatory tower & gives some cool views of the resort and a bit of the beach. Really a pretty spot, reminiscent of the Pacific islands; I am planning a staycay here soon!

Loved the resort, but the front desk service was not honest. They said our rooms weren't ready yet because they were preparing our 3 rooms near each other. This was not the case. When we realized they were not, they claimed to have no knowledge of the promise made. Other than that mix up, we enjoyed our stay. The room was looked nice. Parking is assigned and the restaurants were delicious.... The pizza was my favorite, of course. Make sure you walk the grounds, there are plenty of photo opportunities.

You must visit this place at least twice a year if you cannot get out of the country. The price may be a shocker at first, but the staff and beauty of this Resort is magical. Reminds me of Hawaii living at this place. This was my second stay at the Point, and I cannot wait to get back. It is my Fantasy Island, and both stays my dreams have come true.
