I usually come late at night when everything is closed, but the staff is ALWAYS friendly. This airport is clean and smells nice unlike any other airport I've been in. I've been in this airport during the day, I've only encountered two mean people and they were both cops haha go figure! But other then that all around nice place till you go to drive back to your destination. I got lost like 6 times lol

Nice airport. Not many options for food and prices are a bit high. Security areas always seem packed. Give yourself a good two hours prior to boarding to make it through security on time.
Allegiant airlines are cheap and good. The customer service at the check in is ridiculously horrible. I got there 40 min before take off but only had a pdf on my phone of the boarding pass. The one good employee that works at the counter was trying to help me get my boarding pass on the app so they could security could scan it. The tall crackhead looking lady who is apperantly her supervisor told her she had to leave she was supposed to get off at 4 it was 4:01 she asked to finish helping me the rude b**tch told her no, she said i will clock out and finish helping him the b**tch told her no absolutely not. Then im left just standing there and the supervisor just tellin me tough luck i should have came earlier i asked to speak to manager she refused to even get manager so i called her a few choice words after she wasted 30 min of my time and plane leaving in 10 min went up stairs to one of the security guys he was way nicer and helped me get the boarding pass on my app and jumped me ahead of the security line to make sure i caught my plane long story short they need to get rid of a few of the women at check in desk at least both supervisors a tall crackhead looking one with dark hair and a fat blonde that walks around with phone on her hip
Arrived and departed so many times, there are some tiny little things they may want to look at in the future for long haul flights for faster flow arrival on usa grounds also they do need a a cheaper public bus service to orlando international airport {MCO} international drive and celebration mears and taxis are getting a little expensive for the single traveller but still a brilliant little airport the staff are all pleasant and very helpful every time!
Staff here are rude. They have hella attitude. TSA here disrespectful instead of focusing on their job. A bunch of half asses with a badge if I'm being completely honest.
6:30 pm. 12/14/2016. Never been to this airport before. Going to pick up my son tomorrow. Tried to call to see if they have Sun Pass parking. I used the automated phone system to speak with someone and all I got was a hang up.
The environment and the people were nice. But when our flight was delayed we discovered how few food options are available. And what few options there were were very over priced.
The cell phone parking lot at this airport is a nightmare. It is difficult to find when dark as there is NOT ONE SINGLE light in the lot. Of course, there is no board showin arrivals. NOTHING. I find it very creepy to be waiting here in the dark. Never again. I will tell my friends I will NOT pick them up here. Please make this lot safe and secure by adding lots of lights and by having the security guards drive through occasionally.
Very small easy to navigate airport. Not very busy at all. We used this airport to visit Orlando instead of flying into Orlando airport because it was so much cheaper. It's not as updated as most others. Has a very 90's feel. They do have a lounge with a lot of great features- 2 free drinks, wifi, video games, movies, comfy chairs. Only $15 per adult, 18 & under are free, and this place is huge! That's dirt cheap compared to other lounges.
They say "faster. simpler. better", or something like that, & they aren't lying. Efficient & friendly process. Rental car drop off is easy & a quick walk to check in or security. They also checked our info with our kids a lot closer than anywhere else I've flown, so that's cool keep them kiddos off planes with strangers.
They pulled 30 to 40 people out of the line behind me and said I had plenty of time for my flight, well by the time the let me come to the counter I didn't have enough time to make it to the gate and they said not their fault. I told them they pull 40 or more people out of line BEHIND me and they told me I had plenty of time, well they lied, 75 dollars to change flight plus cab ride to hotel and hotel expenses. I was 2 hours early standing in line by the way
I drop and pick up my wife here a few times a year. My experience is with the cell phone lot which has been upgraded from gravel to asphalt. I drive 1hr 30min from Melbourne to get here they have no where for you to pee. You figure the rest out. I have seen kids and adults just open a door and do the field Latrine. Not ideal.
The cheeseburger tasted extremely good at cheeseburger cheeseburger Express. Onion rings are so so. Their Shakes are also extremely tasty and thick. Hard to drink. I little high priced but it's in the airport. Recommended
I fly allegiant quite often out of Sanford Daytona. I have nothing nice to say about my experiences here. Example, I hold an allegiant world MasterCard so I went in the priority check in line because it is one of the perks of the card and it s the first line I came too. The entire baggage check in had only a couple of passengers. The employee whose line I picked seemed annoyed that I chose her line. She proceeded to tell me I was not eligible for priority check in. I questioned her and said I believe it s a perk of the card and she said not here . I find the staff at this airport generally unfriendly, not very helpful, and a couple of times quite rude. Unfortunately it is the quickest most direct flight to my destinations otherwise I would avoid this airport entirely. I m hopeful someone who cares about the reputation of this airport takes notice.
In desperate need of updating, hardly anywhere to eat a decent meal, and where we did choose"American grill"well, all I can say is please get the staff a lesson in smiling, made us feel uncomfortable asking for anything!...apart from that serves a purpose .
First time flying in and out of Orlando Sanford. The Allegiant flow in the ticketing area was a little confusing but that s not the main issue. I followed the signs to get to B3, which leads you down some long hallways to terminal A. There wasn t any signs posted or information on the screens to let you know where B 1-5 are. If you have a gate of B 1-5, you go to terminal A and wait in a large waiting area. There was a lot of confusion as passengers for the various flights trickled in and could not find any helpful information. There was at least one hour of no information displayed anywhere or Allegiant staff on hand to explain the process. The boarding process itself was okay, not great, just okay. Security was excellent. They were all friendly and efficient, everything the TSA is not so that was a refreshing experience. Overall, not a terrible first experience at this airport once the smoke cleared and I figured out what was happening.
Love arriving, hate departing! Not because of the wonderful airport. I just hate leaving FL.
The airport is easy to get into and out of. Easy traffic. Love the new self check tags and bag drop. Security seemed to move quickly and efficiently as they can. Four places to eat inside security and one outside of security. Considering it s a small airport the food choices are manageable for most people. The airport and bathrooms are clean. Look forward to my next arrival!
Tall manly black lady in security check terminal A that was on the left taking bags onto the conveyor at approximately 12:55pm today 4/4/2019 was provoking airport customers coming through security. She antagonized customer with young child.
Small airport with all the amenities, all major car rental carriers on site. Quick in and out, avoid big airports, lines and rushing. Great experience!
Love this airport & been to my share around the world.....It might have a lil retro 80s 90s look but everything is so convenient!! Even getting your luggage, rental cars, everybody is so helpful!!!! This airport is on the north side of Orlando but for the price it is worth the drive just plan on avoiding the traffic on Interstate 4 if your going to the tourist havens....The distance for walking is short from every point.....I used aligiant airlines and I will use them again..
Granted it says ORLANDO Sanford airport, it is NOT in Orlando. Drove over 2 hours from Tampa thinking it was in Orlando hence the name. SANFORD IS NOTTTT IN ORLANDO, IT IS LIKE AN HOUR AWAY.
Beware of outrageous long term parking gouging. 26hrs and they charge $28.............. So much for simpler, faster, better. Terrible value, terrible service. $14per day is 3x the cost at OIA, MCO. Shame on them. In a pandemic, during an economic tragedy, they are gouging Americans........ SHAME ON SFB!!!!!!! Everyone parking should get a free jar of vaseline.
Good airport, but getting busier. Had to park in the overflow lot (#2) which was in some field. Bus picked us up, but hardly any security. Hope my belongings are still there and my tires are still on my car when we get back! Security is painless, goes quick. Food options are limited, but burger express is yummy!
this is a very small airport that I like and I would highly recommend if you're going on a Disney trip. Most of the people you will see coming through this airport are definitely Disney families. there's another big main hub about 10 or 20 miles away but that is a busy one and probably more expensive one. You can definitely find good flights out of Knoxville Tennessee as well as the whole Southeast area landing in this airport.
you do have to walk outside and across the street for rental cars by the way. all is well though and small enough with enough items to keep you going. And it's really hard to be late here as all terminals are very close to the TSA check-in. Fly well fly safe and be happy.
Simpler: Yes, Faster or Better: Not if you drive yourself and want to park! Or obtain some simple food without having to take out a mortgage! At $13.00 a day for "Value or Economy Parking", you would think they would at least have a shuttle making rounds without your having to call for it; a bit of a shock and not even posted until you can find a pickup site! And, if it is "only 200 yards" from Parking Lot F, it must be for birds flying, not people walking! And, once you get through security, it is like being in a third world country where you cannot find prices on most food or snack items until you go to pay for it. $5.99 for a bag of snacks that would cost $1.99 in any grocery store is outrageous. And, sadly that is the last impression one gets of an otherwise quite nice regional airport. If you are being dropped off, it is still a superior experience due simply to the comparative lack of total human beings. Frankly, however, compared to Orlando International, even with equally captive-audience prices, if you are driving yourself, you might want to consider the comparable parking ease and available parking bargains nearby.
It was an awful experience for me. I have a handicap and was traveling with my adult daughter. I am not in a wheelchair but I required assistants being that I am deaf. No sign language was needed but I don t know how to sign. I asked for help where I need to in in security pat down. I left to the side for 20 mins really??? I had to make noise and complain. Awful awful!! How dare you treat ppl with disabilities like that.
Nice airport, convenient location to split the difference between Daytona Beach and Orlando. Fast wifi, not to large to get lost. But with Allegiant Air, it's not like your flights going to leave on time anyway. lol Car Rental was on the property and straight forward to get to. I can't speak to baggage claim. I just do carry on bags.
One of the best small airports I've flown through. Been through here many times and have always gotten my bags, checked in, and through security efficiently. Staff works hard here!
Very nice, pleasant airport. Easy and quick check in with Allegiant Airlines. Security was a breeze, even though they checked me full-packet bag. But even that experience was low-key and easy. It was a bit of a long walk to terminals 1-5 and folks were somewhat confused about Gates 1-5, but it seemed pretty straightforward to me.
Flew into and out of this airport twice now. It is the absolute worst airport for customer service. I missed my flight the second time I flew out from here. I was flying alone, and I'm 61 years old. I got in the security line by mistake rather than the drop bag line when I first entered the airport. Once I realized my mistake, I knew I would be cutting it close to make my flight. I asked several employees if I would make it. They simply said, "You should be fine," and waved me to the back of the line. Needless to say, I missed my flight by about 5 minutes. I called the airport to complain that nobody would help me. They acted all concerned on the phone, but I never heard anything back from them. It's sad that elderly people aren't helped out a little more in our society and customer service seems to be lost.
Allegiant Air flies out of here, so it's a really important airport for my set of destinations.
The security screening lines are probably some of the longest lines I've encountered at an airport (although I am not a frequent flyer). The quickest I've gotten through security here was about 20 minutes. The slowest time was about 1.5 hours in line. Still, the airport is otherwise pretty easy to deal with.
The parking situation is a lot easier to deal with than many airports; the parking situation is probably the best part about the airport in comparison to many airports.
There are a decent amount (but not amazing amount) of outlets for charging phones, etc.
My wife left her Kindle on the plane once, and the airport staff was very organized and able to retrieve it for her from lost and found a couple days after she lost it.
How do you review an airport? The staff was helpful, the flight took off on time.
I don't expect TSA to have the Disney Magic - they might be security theater, but they have a job to do and they do it efficiently. Like most places, the issues are with the other customers, and you can't blame the airport for that.
We were having vacation at Orlando! Was surprised to see that it's not the same as Orlando International Airport!
They need to "change their name" to better identify themselves as people like me get confused very easily and have lots of trouble Later on! As I end up wasting 100$ for taxi as I booked rental car to the Orlando International Airport :(
This is a small airport so it is easy to find your way around. the TSA employees here are some of the rudest people I've ever encountered. they are constantly yelling at the crowds of people. Heaven forbid if you do something wrong... they are quick to get smart with anyone. I've never experienced this at any other airport.
It s a good little airport for regional flights with Allegiant Air. Good parking with Uber & Lyft coverage too. Bonus: there is a bar in the baggage area!
SFB airport: I d almost rather die in a plane crash than take another flight here with Allegiant Airlines! 100% of my flights with them have been delayed...no exaggeration! 100%! With the added costs of in-airport entertainment and such, customers better off flying another airline! Also, TERRIBLE customer service!!! Spend an extra $100 and fly elsewhere! Thank me later!
First of all I will never travel thru this airport anymore. It was the first time going to this airport and it was the worst experience ever. The people from TSA are so rude especially an asian girl that I was trying to explain to my mom what was going on with her bagage and she was like right on us saying you got to take a decision now and I have to tell her if she could wait until I translate to my mom what was happening. My mom is a hispanic senior citizen and since she enter they treated her so rude. They even open so late and they were like expecting all the passengers to hurry up. They didn t even said a good morning. Only a hispanic young man was the one that help my mom cause the other people was very rude and unhelpful. When we got there, there was another lady that didn t speak english she had a lot of bagage. She was handicap and needed a wheel chair. Her family member left her bags at the beginning of the line and she was behind us.A TSA came and ask who s bags were those and in very rude manner she told you got to stay with your bags. I had to translate cause she didn t understand and she was like the asian girl insisting.I felt like we were treated as criminals . I have travel thru so many airport and this was the worst. I would suggest the people that want to travel to or from Florida to take another airport cause in this one the employees are so rude and unhelpful and they don t treat you with respect.
My son (21 yrs old) home on military leave took an Allegiant flight to Knoxville, TN with his girlfriend. The trip was from Thursday 730 PM & return was Sunday at noon. He said parking was confusing & they asked a security officer for parking directions. The website said there was parking for $13 day. The officer told him it was $28 a day. He showed the printout that I had given him. Again the officer said $28 a day. The TSA agents were rude as well. When he went to pick up car, he was charged $120 for 2 1/2 days parking. Apparently he had been directed to the hourly lot. According to the website the maximum fee is $28 for 24 hours. How the heck did they come up with $120? He was foolish & paid it. Will never send anyone to that airport again. Shame on Sanford Airport for their shady information.
