Omni Severin - Indianapolis Review

Very nice place the rooms with the view are beautiful

We stayed at the Omni this week and it's been an excellent experience all the way around. We chose the Omni because it looked nice and was near enough to the IU Hospital to be convenient.

We got way more than we expected and I mean that in the best way.

Every member of staff that I've encountered has been unfailingly friendly and professional at all hours of the day. Even the night shift people are sharp and friendly. Speaking as someone who worked nights for many years, I can say that it's hard to stay focused and friendly on some nights! The staff here does an excellent job.

We travel with our dogs and I have to say that the Omni Severin is now our top choice in Indianapolis thanks to incredible staff and the incredibly quiet room. Our dogs aren't noisy, but they do bark occasionally (they're dogs, after all). The way our room was situated, there were no other rooms adjoining us or directly across from us. This drastically limited the noise for us and gave me a great deal of peace of mind that even if the dogs did bark, we wouldn't be disturbing the neighbors.

I saw some other reviews that had complaints and I've read most of them. In our three night stay, I encountered none of the problems anyone has written about. The valet staff have been extraordinary - no issues with them at all and, in fact, the people who cover the night shift have made me feel safe when I've needed to walk my dogs in the wee hours of the morning.

I've stayed in some nice places before, but I've never stayed in a place where I felt as honestly welcome as this particular Omni.

It's been such a good experience that I will look at staying at the Omni in other cities when we travel and I'll always pick the Omni Severin when staying in Indianapolis.

A hotel is a hotel despite the various amenities. But in my opinion what set the Omni apart from other hotels I've stayed was the level of customer service the staff displayed. The great part about it, it came naturally. It never seemed forced or disingenuous. I was very pleased in my time staying at the Omni.

We were here when the writing started and the staff did a great job of handling it even though it is horrible what these irresponsible and ignorant people did to the hotel and downtown. The police were doing everything they could to keep people safe. Our car was parked in the garage however was vandalized. There were a lot of wonderful people Protesting as well. As for the hotel, it is beautiful and a great place to stay except it was way too hot in our room. It s not very hot outside and it was still very very warm in the room which is something I have a hard time handling.

Not real as luxury as they'd lead you to believe, especially for the price you pay.

My showers were cold, the pillow felt like they were suffocating me, over expensive wifi, but although it was a good spot. Pick a different hotel.

We were there for an even that started at 4:30. Since check-in time was 3 we thought that should be no problem. We did arrive quite early, 11am, an it was fine that our room wasn't ready then. However we did tell them of our need to get into our room as soon as possible and said we would take any room. They said t by e would text our call when the room was ready. We heard nothing so at 2:30 we checked again. Still our room was not ready. Same at 3:00. Even though check-in time was 3 we weren't able to get a room until 4pm. This then made it a bit stressful experience since our event started at 4:30. Everything else at the hotel was good but this really left a sour taste for this hotel.

Not great and certainly not worth the price. Upon arrival the young man working the desk was polite. The lobby is gorgeous and full with restaurants coffee and stunning architecture. That's where this hotels beauty stops. The room was dirty, dark and in need of repairs. Turning lamps on proved futile as they didn't work. When we asked to change rooms the once polite front desk man was now snobbish and rude. It took almost half an hour to be switched. We were told a bellboy was coming with a key but he never appeared. The second room while brighter and in less disrepair was still wildly disappointing. Generic toiletries, moldy bathtub and shower curtain and a toilet that belonged in a truck stop. There were unidentifiable wet spots on the carpet and smears on the desks. It's very clear they only cater to the big big spenders here. The bed was comfortable but we slept poorly knowing how much we had spent for such poor quality.

Worst experience ever, no microwave, walls all dinged up, tiny pool, no breakfast at all! Bathrooms are tiny, an not updated. This is no resort, this not a 4 star hotel!

Great location right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Was there for a conference and was walking distance to all the restaurant, shops, and convention center. The hotel had an antique feel to it, very refreshing from the newer hotels. Highly recommend!!!

The room was fine. Unfortunately the bullet holes in my friends SUV from the mall parking recommended by the staff put a damper on the holiday

Went with a friend to a cheer competition here. I don't know about the rooms. The inside was nice but a little dated to me. Very clean & staff was nice!

The pool was not working and it was one of the main reasons we booked the hotel. The cable and internet was in and out all night with only light rainfall outside. The rooms have no USB ports and the bed was not comfortable. Would not recommend staying here. Save your money.

Staying here for a convention. Very close too restaurants and the city center. Rooms are nice. Wish they had free wifi and breakfast. Staff is very excellent

I attended the Easter Brunch yesterday at the Omni....What a delight! Of course the food is the obvious factor that made this meal special, but also the staff and guests with well behaved children created this great experience......Thank you!

Stay at the Severin a lot. Very comfortable. Super attentive staff. Tops on my list.

The service was SUPERIOR and OUTSTANDING, however, the suite was a little disappointing. Trash was found under the end tables, shower had hair on the walls, the wood had cobwebs, the patio door would not open, the mattress was super bouncy, just not very cozy, etc. For the first get-a-way in 10 years from our kids, and given as a Christmas present to my husband, that was a little disheartening. Maybe should have picked have picked a different hotel for a first time get-a-way. But again, the hospitality was amazing and we did get a lot of rest.

I don't ask for much when I stay away from home other than a clean room and a comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The view was also amazing! We enjoyed our stay.

What a beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff around. We recently stayed here for an out of town volleyball tournament. From the moment we pulled up in our vehicle we were greeted with staff to welcome us and assist. They loaded the cart and took everything to our room and unloaded it before I even made it up. Everyone offered help, assistance and recommendations on what to do downtown. Jack at the Wine Theif Bar, made a great drink and was very cordial and friendly, great conversation! My daughter made the comment that she felt like she was royalty due to beauty of the hotel and the staff readily wanting to help. A fabulous hotel that I would recommend and stay at for sure!

Stayed at the hotel for gencon and the valet service was super helpful.

Room was nice. Hotel was very clean. Good location downtown.

Balcony door would lock. No microwave in room. And, the bath tub wouldn't drain. Beautiful hotel. But for 300 a night. You shouldn't have to deal with any of these issues. No apology, no compensation the reception desk just said they'd send someone up to look at the problems.

There for drinks. Not a large space but well put together. Drinks are good service is decent.

Room clean and ready. Very neat. Downtown Indy in good location. Difficult to park for any hotel in downtown area however.

Hotel is dated and could you an update. Room was ice cold all weekend and they couldn't seem to get it to work.

The Omni provided outstanding customer service at a very reasonable price! I will always stay at this hotel when I'm in town.

Giving 3 stars mainly because the service was as expected from an Omni hotel. Got a city view room that we discovered had ants. Was comp'd breakfast for the inconvenience. If we stayed mored than one night, we would have asked for a different room.

Rooms were not the best... Unfortunately, there was a mold spot in the corner of the roof in the bathroom.

I'll be 18 next year never been to Indianapolis IN buh look forward to going but does this hotels allow 18 year olds to get rooms ?

Excellent hotel. Beautiful lobby and wonderful staff. Rooms are quite small and leave a lot to be desired. Parking situation was not the best.

Service was great and hotel was nice. The area was a little noisy at night which is why I gave three stars.

The hotel is connected to a mall, other hotels, and to the convention center via sky bridge, so there is no need to go outside. Also there is lots of places to eat nearby. The rooms are clean and the hotel staff are kind and accommodating.

Recommend this hotel to everyone! The customer service was above and beyond what I have ever experienced at a hotel before! I commend the staff for such hospitality! The location is perfect! I will definitely stay again in the future.

Ok hotel in a nice location. Very worn and dated. Found someone's dropped contact on bathroom floor, so cleanliness of room was questionable. Hallway was super hot. Our air was very loud. Not worthy of the ratings it has.

What a great hotel! I do not need to describe how nice the Omni chain is. I am just letting you know..hotwire 4 star downtown...$70 for this one. You can also get free wi-fi there. Very uncommon for high end hotels.

My stay at the Omni was great. I wanted a king size bed but got stuck with a room with two full size beds. They were large and roomy though. Room service was good although I wish they had a more varied late night menu. Every member of the staff I ran into was very courteous, professional, and generally seemed like nice people. No fridge in room though, just a chiller.

Omg I cannot express how much I loved this hotel! They surprised us with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne for my anniversary! If I ever went back to Indy I will be staying at this hotel.

Old and dated rooms. Poor air circulation in the rooms. Bathroom tile grout is 50 shades of dirt. Bed is lumpy. $200+ a night? "That's going to be a no for me dawg." - Randy Jackson

Gorgeous hotel with excellent amenities in the building. Walking distance to everything downtown, AND access to the mall within the hotel!

Rooms were spacious and staff was very attentive, friendly, and professional.

Location was great, right downtown, only a few blocks from Lucas oil. Room was clean. Service was good.

Busy, loud in lobby, mezzanine, but room quiet, comfortable.

Location is downtown near many restaurants and social event areas, clean hotel and very friendly helpful staff.

Furnishings have seen better days. Tub had a slow drain. Valet parking had 1 person working but couldn't keep up with Friday evening business. Not his fault just busy. Staff is very nice. I ordered room service it was good and fast. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed for a large conference. Service & staff were excellent. Rooms were clean & comfortable, although slightly smaller & more cramped than I've had at other Omni hotels. The restaurant and bar in the lobby were both great. Because of the large conferences going on, it was sometimes hard to get an elevator to first floor, and all the stairwells were locked on that level so we were "trapped" up above with no clear way to get out. That was a little stressful and could easily have been fixed by unlocking the stairwells on the main level. Otherwise an excellent stay and I have reserved my spot for next year already!

Beautiful area, I will return to the same hotel too visit this laid-back city. But it seems the heat was cool, my room suffered to get warm. It seems the hallways was warmer than my room. The higher I turned the heat, the cooler the Heat got. Is this true?

Grabbed a drink at the Starbucks attached to the hotel and even though I was not a guest, the hotel staff was very accommodating.

Very friendly staff. Lovely grounds and places to hang out at.

They advertise themselves to be a 4 star luxury hotel, but I did not have that experience. The rooms felt small, the shower did not have ANY water pressure and when I asked the concierge for water he told me to fill a cup in my bathroom sink.

This is a nice, old-school hotel. Very close to all the main attractions to downtown Indianapolis.

Loved the room, staff were really nice. Couldn't have been better.

Service is great. The bed is like a brick. Showers and bathroom are really small. The restaurant is ok.
