BCTC is the best beer festival in the Northeast and Ommegang are fantastic hosts. Wouldn't miss it!
The brewery was great. Great staff, beer selection, and food. The tour was also very educational.
There were 8 of us for beer and dinner. One of our group got their food about 20 min after we ordered. Then about 20 minutes after that those who ordered French fries WITH their meal got their french fries only. Then the rest of us got our entrees about 5 minutes apart. My husband and I chose the flatbread special. One side was way over done and the other side was barely cooked. I pointed this out to the waitress and she apologized but did not offer to get another or take it off the bill. It took us over an hour to get our meals and the fact that they came out one at a time was baffling to us.
Worst kitchen and waitress service ever. As I walked to the ladies room there were 5 people in the kitchen. The restaurant was not crowded either.
Don t go expecting to have a conversation either because with the renovation the acoustics make it impossible to talk to those at your table.
Don t waste your money on below average food and service.
Great for concerts beer is kinda hi priced since they make it right there . Everything else is good .
We've gone to Ommegang lots. The tour is a basic brewery tour, but we love the beers. Very Belgian and different. The food is great. One night we served beer for old crow medicine show and it was a really great time. A good place to go and work.
As others have stated, you come for the beers, and not for the food. Small food menu, mediocre tasting, overpriced and slow slow service. Beers are good, but they're trading on the Game of Thrones tie-in to bring in the customers. If it wasn't for that, you'd be better off going to a smaller, less commercial brewery.
Amazing experience! Everyone was very friendly. I wish we lived closer
i wish they did more small batch brews to make the trip more worthwhile. as is, it was just their well-known selection plus one small batch one.
Great beer even if you are not a huge fan of Belgian beers.
Belgium Comes to Cooperstown is a wild event. Ommegang pulls out all the stops.
Great place! Would suggest to eat and sample a few beers
Amazing atmosphere, great location, delicious beer. Crowded at times, but this is to be expected given how awesome it is. They do events that seem popular but I've never made it to one.
Excellent beer, even greater service. Can't wait to come back again when I'm in town!!!
I love coming to Ommegang whenever I'm in town. They just remodeled the whole restaurant and gift shop. Honestly, I liked the old look of the restaurant, with its long brass bar top. This one will hold a lot more customers. The plus to this new design is you do not have to walk through the gift shop to get to the restaurant. The outdoor space is awesome with solid overhead cover. The menu is still great!!!
nice place for concert and camping overall I'm very happy... but waited in line all day to be front row and ran to the front row and sat there waiting so I missed out on walking around and eating... but then when the show began, the owner of the brewery kept bringing his friends up standing in front of us in front of first row rail... it was very annoying and he was smug when I called him on it...
The atmosphere was super awesome our server Julia was really patient servicing our table of 11. Our food was good although the chicken and waffles I wish had an option of syrup as opposed to jam I'm not a fan of jam. It was honestly just okay tasting. Everything else though was pretty good the Brussels with the aoili sauce was awesome. Beer choices were great as well. I wish they had more non alcoholic beverage choices especially for kids. Other than that it was a good time.
Myself and my family have been loyal Ommegang patrons for 8 years, especially the chicken and waffles is a family favorite. We came today to celebrate a family milestone and it was a major disappointment. We waited over an hour and watched 6 other tables get their full meals. When our food came out the fries were ice cold. 5 orders of buttermilk chicken were somehow dry as cardboard and simultaneously ice cold. Maple bacon bechamel tasted like salted flour. 2 of the buttermilk chicken orders were burnt black. My waffle was both cold and rock hard. 5 of us had one bite of our meal.
Server was excellent, however when we voiced our complaints the manager responded "Well it's our best seller everyone else thinks they're excellent". We didn't even get an I'm sorry. Tables on either side of us sent their food back as well including chicken and waffles and frites. I understand everyone has off days every once in a while, but every meal was way subpar and we weren't treated as paying customers.
Also they're out of the only dessert on the menu. So there's that. Won't be returning for food any time soon.
Short tour, beautiful campus with a great lawn for frisbee, tasty food, and of course unparalleled beer.
Ommegang has the best beer and great atmosphere. Fun outdoor areas with yard games and a bar.
Perfect Belgium beer with a great atmosphere. A must have visit to the Cooperstown area. 10/5.
Love visiting Ommegang!! Beer is fantastic, atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, service is always excellent. Carrie took great care of us as we relaxed and enjoyed the day. Tried the "Dandy Shandy" beer special of the day and it was refreshing and super tasty. Creator, Dan, came over and detailed the recipe so we can recreate it at home. Such an enjoyable day, we will be back!! My only request is a shuttle or onsite Lyft or Uber. We decided to stay the night at a local hotel so we didn't have to drive but found that arranging transportation wasn't as convenient as we had hoped. Otherwise, our visit did not disappoint even without doing a tour and tasting. See you next trip!
Amazing venue. Great beer. And they get amazing shows. Food is all vendors and they do a great job. Parking is easy.
If you like Belgian ales, this is your place. Not only is the every growing variety of their beers delicious, but the food from the restaurant pairs extremely with them well, as would be expected. The tour/tasting is a must and well worth the trip.
Very nice place with a great selection of beers. Service was friendly and fast. If I ever come back to Cooperstown, I'd definitely return.
Beautiful stead. The brewery is the ideal craft brewery. It's great to see a regional brewery take the time to make every customer feel like they're the most important one. The tour is a great glimpse to see how a few wonderful employees take ownership and create wonderful flavors.
Today I had the greatest pleasure of comming to Ommegang for the first time. And even thought my timing wasnt the best . I enjoyed every single second there. Coming all the way from Jersey City area to try the freshest you can ever have a beer . Dustin was my beer tasting knowledgeable beer tasting guide. I wish I had more time to hear him out over and over about every beer on tap. Thank you OMG family for this great experience. If you are having doubts of visiting this place, please let me tell you, dont you even dare to think twice about not coming here. The beer tasting it's just the beginning of an extraordinary experience. You dont have to ask me if I'm coming back, you bet I will .
Awesome place with super beer selections. Staff was really friendly. Our hostess Samantha was super nice and helpful. I will be back for more.
A really beautiful brewery with a very inviting atmosphere! Food was great, beer was great, staff was great! Can't think of a single negative thing to say about my time spent there for a Sunday afternoon lunch. I'll be coming back!
Delicious, great service, friendly place! Worth the drive!!!
Had an excellent experience here! Really enjoyed chatting with Sean (friendly and knowledgeable staff member stationed at the entryway). He made us feel welcome and gave us lots feedback and pointers about the brewery and the general area. The atmosphere was spacious and polished but with a warm, cozy vibe. Wide variety of beer. Each beer in the flight had a distinct flavor and vibe. That dark beer at the end was my favorite; it was a vanilla bourbon barrel stout and it smelled like chocolate! Food menu was high quality but not exhaustive (just about 10 options. They do not have burgers for example). In summation, Ommegang is a gem and we will definitely be returning!
Great quiet spot to sit, relax and enjoy some great beer
terrible service, it took them over 1 hour to get our food to us even when we told them we had a limited time slot
We ordered beer samplers and chicken and waffles to try but they never came..
Cafe experience really ruined the whole part. Horribly slow experience and mediocre food. Stay home and drink the beer there.
Always an amazing time. Brunch bingo is a great time and awesome prizes!
ALWAYS great beers on tap, nice atmosphere and tasty food!
Huge brewery, tons of beers. Great food and awesome gift shop.
Great brewery. If you can take the tour and tasting. Very informative. And lots of good sized samples to try after. And you get to keep the glass. Food is very good.
Call to see if the chicken and waffle special is available
Restaurant, brewery. Nice tour of ops and beer tasting. Very busy.
I love Ommegang beers, so it would be almost impossible for me to not give this place a 5. If you are only going to do the tasting or the brewery tour, I'd definitely recommend the tasting, but the tour was still cool.
The spinach and goat cheese crepe was very good, but I might have too drunk to think anything was bad by the time I was consuming it.
These place is awesome, but as always, don't drink too much.
Waited forever for food and drinks.. 2 of us got food ..2 did not... food was over cooked
Service was terrible.. attitudes were terrible.. short staffed.. it will be a very long time before we go back
Very disappointed
Assume brewery staff is fantastic ale is one of the best be sure to stop by well worth it
This brewery is awesome . Have gone there since the early days and after their purchase by Duvel. Great beer.
Went for a concert in the summer there. The venue was fantastic and the brews were as well. Lots of food trucks with excellent food and plenty of space to roam and view the band's. Only downside was trying to leave the field of parking after the show was over...terrible wait time.
I wish they had more small batch brews as well, but the cafe is an awesome space, and their regular beers are plenty delicious enough.
Our family stopped here while camping in the area. We had visited here last year, and went on a tour. This visit we wanted to try the food, as well as the beers. We were not disappointed. The food, from the appetizers to the soup, to the main courses were excellent. My wife and I tried flights of the beers they had on tap, and picked a couple to buy in packs to take back to our campsite. The service was also friendly and attentive. Overall, a great family stop which was enjoyed by both kids and adults.
Easily one of the best breweries I've been to. On this particular trip we did the Cooperstown Beverage Trail, going to Butternuts (awful), Cooperstown (decent), Council Rock (decent), and Ommegang (amazing). One of the reasons it's an amazing brewery is simply their beer is delicious. Had the Gnommegang, Rare Vos, Abbey Dubbel, and others. I wish they had the Game of Thrones special editions there but they did not. The food was amazing though too. Had the chicken and waffles with vanilla pepper cream sauce. Fantastic! The tasting is definitely worth it and plan to stay awhile to try all the amazing beers. Gets very crowded but it's a fun atmosphere. If doing the beverage trail, highly recommend using a driving service like Doubleday Drivers. They'll drive your car around so you can enjoy all the delicious beers!
A mixture of ages and a great gift shop selling gear and beer.
Sarah the bartender was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the beers. Served us 4 beers we had no idea we would even enjoy and bought $150.00 worth to bring home. Great place.!
The best brewery I have ever visited! I loved all the beer they serve and food is a lot better than expected. If you love beer, you can t miss this place.
Great atmosphere, campfire was awsome. Food is a little over priced for what it is. Lots of "out of towners" from the Cooperstown crowd. Beer is always the best, hands down best Brewery in a fifty mile radius.
Great beer and great food! The meatballs and fries were amazing! Also beer!
Stopped in very quickly a couple of years ago when I was in the area. Very out of the way but I literally followed the smell of the brewhouse as I neared the general area. Cool abbey-inspired structures make it a destination in and of itself. The beer is fantastic.
To be fair, we only had the beer. But is great and the scenery is beautiful.
You already know the beer is delicious but the venue is really cool and the food is absolutely delicious. I like how they incorporate their beer into the food. The chicken and waffle were awesome.
Incredible beer. 3 Philosophers is the greatest beer I've ever had.
I found the 'hospitality' at Ommegang Brewery to be very poor. I recently attended a "Fire Pit Friday" event at Ommegang, where they have live music and a bonfire. At one point I was near the bonfire and it was burning low, so I threw a pallet on the fire, as no one had tended it in awhile (the bonfires are fueled by discarded wooden pallets, which are free). An Ommegang employee, Wayne, approached me and scolded me for putting a pallet on the fire (there are no signs saying that patrons are not allowed to do this), and told me he had a limit on the number of pallets that could be burned that was imposed by the management. He said he was a bouncer and I should leave because I threw a pallet on the fire. He basically was trying to intimidate me and make me think I needed to leave because he said so. I told him I don't think so, and go get someone in authority if he thinks I can be thrown off the premises for throwing a pallet on the fire when there wasn't even any notice that it is 'against the rules.' Anyway, I didn't leave and there was nothing he could do about it, but it makes me wonder if I want to attend another Ommegang event if their staff act like corrupt police. Ommegang is a Belgian company, but I have been to Belgium and I seriously doubt that a patron of Duvel in Belgium (Ommegang's parent company) would be treated with as much disrespect as I received in Cooperstown, USA.
Saw neutral milk hotel here and enjoyed some damn fine beer. Highly recommended!
We had a great time here, the food and beer were fantastic!
Brewery Ommegang is a beautiful property smack dab in the middle of nowhere. All the beer my wife and I tried were excellent. Even beers I normally don t prefer like stouts and porters we all really good. Nirvana was my favorite. We also both ordered the French dip for lunch. It took a really long time. Just shy of an hour. I almost wonder if the order was forgotten because they were not busy at all. When it did come it was decent. Not mind blowing but good. I think next time we come we might grab food elsewhere beforehand. The beer was definitely worth the trip though.
5 stars for the beer
3 1/2 for the food
Great ambience here and very nice inside. We wish now we would of done the tour but decided to just have a few flights. I'm not a beer drinker but our server Samatha was helpful and very friendly. She recommended the saison Rose' for me to try. It was still beer but drinkable for me at least. Very nice place to have a few drinks though.
One of my favorite breweries to visit and tour! The chef is amazing at hat he does and the food selection is the best in the region!
The staff is all knowledgeable and awesome. The brewery is very clean. The beer is great!
Not impressed with the beer tasting. Would not recommend it. It was hard to hear our tasting guide and she only gave pretzels to one end of the bar, but failed to give them to the other 70% of the tasters. This facility is very commercial no charecter or charm to the place, especially for a place in upstate NY. Will not ever come back
Beautiful grounds, delicious beer with a wide selection. $5 beer tastings, $10 tours
Awesome beers! Delish food to pair with it. Friendly, helpful, entertaining staff. Just do it!
This is it. You made it. The legendary Brewery Ommegang. You'd be hard pressed to find better beers in such a sprawling, beautiful landscape, especially if you're lucky enough to be there in the fall to see the foliage change. That said, the beer is superlative, the food is excellent, and the newly renovated tasting room/restaurant is beautiful. If you're more than a casual beer drinker, or you need to bring back thank you presents for the folks that watched your cat while you were gorging yourself, be sure to check out the shop for brewery-only releases too.
Had a blast here! The tour was thorough, the beer is amazing, and the food is delicious at the restaurant. Be sure to check this place out!
