Renovations are still underway avoid outside eating until that portion is complete. The renovations are certainly a great addition .Workers kicking up dust to close to where customers are eating meals. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Limited menu options.

i am in no way a beer drinker. stopped here last year to see a concert and drink soda but toady after a friend and i were done see hyde hall and glimmerglass state park he want to come here. so we did. i was very impressed right as we walk in. was greeted nicely and the gift shop was cool too. a huge bar and grill room. we didn't eat but the food looked awesome. so we sat at the bar and you can buy 4 small glasses of beer for $12. so i got one and so did my friend. i tried the sour ale, the smoke port. one light and one dark. the other two were red. the pale sour was outstanding. i hate dark beers but the smoke port was out of this world and nothing like any dark beer i have tasted before. you must try these but i'll warn you. if you try these you be buying a case of each. like a said, i'm not a beer drinker but i am already looking forwards to a return visit.

This place has amazing beer. Hennepin and 3 Philosophers are a must to bring home. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the landscape is just a beautiful sight to just sit back and have a beer. They also have a great selection of merch in the gift shop.

Good ambiance and beers. Service is horrible though. Always understaffed and takes 45 minutes to get a beer. Wait time for tables at 2.5 hrs. Bartenders and waiters maintain a good attitude, but management is killing them and needs to hire more staff.

My family and I visited the brewery Labor Day weekend for dinner. My wife and I tried a few beers and they were flavorful and refreshing after a full day of driving and activities. We all enjoyed the Brewer's Board and then went outside to climb the hill and play Frisbee in their very family friendly atmosphere! I would like to see them bring back the mussels + frites but still one of my favorite places to visit in New York. Please like my review if you find it useful.

Anytime I'm in NY, I make it a point to stop here....

Anytime I'm in NY, I make it a point to stop here. I first visited Ommegang in 2005. Over the years it has grown in size and popularity. They make several great Belgian style beers, offer tours of the brewery, have a gift shop where you can buy swag...and their beer of course. About 4 years ago, they partnered with HBO to brew "Game of Thrones" themed beers. When they added the cafe, that just pushed this place over the top. The cafe serves awesome food....really...its pretty good. Most items on the menu have one of their many beers as an ingredient, just adding to the flavors. They are open year round, with limited hours during the winter...usually 12pm-5pm. During the summer they have concerts in the field behind the brewery...right next to their locally grown hops, and allow overnight camping. Lastly, no I'm not an employee writing a great review, just a retired Army guy who loves good beer and great food.

Took a scenic drive to Cooperstown NY to take in the Fall foliage, enjoy lunch and one of their craft beers.
Today I had the Burbon Barrel Three Philosophers. The mouthfeel is rich and creamy with a long, smooth finish.

Ommegang has been my favorite beer for many years. Rare Vos and Gnommegang are at the top of my list, but they have some newer brews challenging those titles for me, such as the Lovely, Dark and Deep (stout).

The tour is neat and informative, and you get to keep your sampling glass, which is cool. The food is decent, there are better places in Cooperstown, but it rounds out the experience nicely.

Beer on tap, gift shop, tasting room bar, dinig room, outside covered patio with bar-- they have made a beautiful set-up that features their facility and the countryside. Nice food menu that includes entrees, small bites, and dishes to share.

This place is awesome. Beautiful place for live music in the Summer. Rare Vos is my favorite beer. The food at the cafe is fantastic. I even attended the very first wedding they had here, and they did such a wonderful job with everything! Highly recommended! Definitely worth doing a tour if you have the time.

Love the beer, but service for a group at the brewery is not their jam. Came with a group of 25, and were told they could seat 10, and 10 more in an hour and a half. They didn t seem to care that we were willing to completely split up into 4s or 2s or whatever made it easier. Meanwhile they sat 3 tables of 4 (who came in after us) while the group of 10 was waiting. The place is the size of a barn, we could see plenty of empty tables, barstools, and high top tables.
Not sure why, but their actions screamed that they didn t want us to be there. We were willing to oblige. If you are at Cooperstown playing baseball with a semi large group (small by baseball team standards), I d call ahead, or just skip it all together.

We made a trip to Ommegang for lunch on the patio and to stock up on Saisonstraminer, Hennepin, and Three Philosophers. It was a beautiful day for social distancing with a sandwich and a beer. It's dog friendly as long as you keep your dog on leash (6ft or less).

Been a fan since before 2006 when I graduated Hartwick College, great to see this place succeeding every time we come back to visit NY. The new stuff is good but please dont ever stop making Rare Vos, Hennepin, or Three Philosophers!

Edit: finally came back close to a year later, and enjoyed the food. My partner and I came during the re-opening of NY and sat outdoors. Service was good, and they were quick to wipe down tables. We ordered some starters, a flight, and some other food. I do lament that I wish I got the pulled BBQ pork sandwich. Hopefully we will be able to come back soon! And no reservations!

Came here a few months ago, and I fell in love with Ommegang. I know Ommegang is known for their beer, but it is the picturesque place to come for a quick and good tour and amazing views. My date and I did the tasting tour and loved the people who described each drink and were very honest about the flavors. Our tour guide for the brewery was very funny. It was very tempting not to buy everything in the gift shop because I wanted to take home every bottle of double barrel and GoT cans for gifts and personal libations.

My only regret is we did not have enough time to dine here. The food smelled and looked amazing. Will know to come here with a good amount of time as I overheard wait times were up to an hour and a half. Will need to come back soon in the spring to see things under a new season.

There was also a wedding being set up, which made me file that in the back of my head for the future.

I spent the day here for a baseball tournament event and I was not very impressed. There s a nice brew selection and it appears to have possibilities for decent outdoor venues for various events, but the grounds were sloppy and disgusting. Vomit, food debris, and other garbage were left on the grounds from a concert the night before and the port-a-pots were repulsive and never emptied, so they were filled to the rim with putrid filth. I don t understand why some breweries just expect the quality of their beer to only be what is important. If you expect people to come to your establishment and have a good time, then you need to improve the outdoor conditions to be better than Civil War POW camps.

Two reviews, 2/5 for the brewery tour and tour guide and 5/5 for the brewery and food. So I'll be nice and make it a 4/5 over all.
The blond lady that gave us the tour was completely lack luster, totally not interested in being the tour guide and just walked off and left us standing in the tasting room without so much as a thanks for touring with us or good bye without a prod from me that we were just standing there. Now for the good parts, fantastic selection of beer and food! It's all so delicious and the bar staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the charcuterie board with a flight of beers!

A great Belgian-style farm brewery in the country ...

A great Belgian-style farm brewery in the country hills of Cooperstown. They do tours and tastings of about 20 different beers they make. There is a gift shop with all kinds of brewery branded items and of course plenty of their beers to stock up on. There is also a nice little restaurant on site as well. The highlight of this place is the concert venue though, one of the best venues I've ever been to. It's all general admission, bring your own chairs/blankets and sit wherever you like. There's plenty of food trucks at the shows and always plenty of beer. They offer primitive camping on concert weekends as well.

Saw the Jack White concert and it was a great concert. With the rain it was muddy but they had amazing food vendors with items like bacon mac and cheese, chicken potpie, burritos, etc. I thought it was nice having the option to camp after the concert. Great experience.

Corporate beer personified...I am continually amazed at how many people rate this place highly...the tours are an afterthought it seems at least the ones I have gone on...I daresay my very first tour in 2002 was the best before Ommegang lost its way...
The facility upgrades are nice but it is cramped...the food is very good in the cafe but the service...how can you work in a brewery and not smile...not be excited...how can you work with the public and seem you want to be anywhere but there...I have been at this brewery all days of the week over the years and it is always the same...
I can say the same for management as well...a couple of years ago I vowed not to go back but alas...I am an optimist or maybe the living definition of insanity expecting things to change while doing the same over and over...not sure which pertains...in good conscience I cannot recommend Brewery Ommegang when it feels the staff just go through the motions...

About Ommegang Brewery

Brewery Ommegang is a renowned American brewery that specializes in producing authentic Belgian-style ales. The company was founded in 1997 by Don Feinberg and Wendy Littlefield, who were inspired by the rich brewing traditions of Belgium. Since then, Brewery Ommegang has become one of the most respected craft breweries in America, known for its high-quality beers and commitment to sustainability.

One of the things that sets Brewery Ommegang apart from other breweries is its dedication to using traditional brewing methods and ingredients. The company's beers are brewed with only the finest malts, hops, and yeast strains imported from Belgium. This attention to detail ensures that each beer has a unique flavor profile that captures the essence of Belgian brewing.

Brewery Ommegang offers a wide range of beers to suit every taste preference. Some of their most popular brews include:

1) Three Philosophers - A blend of Belgian-style quad ale and cherry lambic.
2) Hennepin - A farmhouse saison with spicy notes.
3) Rare Vos - An amber ale with caramel malt flavors.
4) Witte - A refreshing wheat beer brewed with coriander and orange peel.

In addition to their core lineup, Brewery Ommegang also produces seasonal releases throughout the year. These limited-edition brews often feature unique ingredients or flavor profiles not found in their regular offerings.

Visitors to Brewery Ommegang can take a tour of the facility and learn about the brewing process firsthand. The brewery also hosts events throughout the year, including concerts, festivals, and tastings. Guests can enjoy food pairings featuring local ingredients alongside their favorite brews.

Brewery Ommegang is committed to sustainability practices both in its production processes as well as through community outreach programs such as recycling initiatives or supporting local farmers markets where they source some ingredients for their products.

Overall, Brewery Ommegang is an exceptional American brewery that has earned its reputation for producing authentic Belgian-style ales using traditional methods while being environmentally conscious at every step along the way!
