Very good airport . Nicely done up. Food courts are good . Limited shopping but have variety. . Good customer service . Immigration is one of three most efficient places in GCC . It took less than 2 minutes to clear . .

This airport is by far the best one I have ever been in - in the entire world. You are greeted with a beautiful nature-based walkway upon arrival - something I have never ever seen (see the attached picture!). After this, immigration and customs is dressed better than any agents I have ever seen and the airport as a whole was beautifully made. Upon departure, I was greeted with similar scenes.
Overall, this airport is the best and friendliest I have ever been in in the whole world, I highly recommend it to all travelers coming to Oman!
I have Visited the new Muscat International Airport and it was really awesome
New airport using old ways. Obviously opened too soon. Wi-Fi rubbish. No alcohol in lounge. Long walks and big queues at transfer . 20 minutes to get plane door open. Staff in training. Duty free poor. Warm ac bad. ...shall I go on

Looks nice and charming, but where the heck are the seats for passengers in the gates? I was unfortunately holed up in gate C where passengers were awkwardly squeezed between wrirdly shaped benches. What's the point of aesthetic appeal if the airport doesn't provide decent seating?? The weird blue highlights with rocks and fake grass is occupying much needed real estate for seats. Muscat airport authorities take note!!
The newly opened International airport is an architectural masterpiece with worldclass layouts and amenities. Vast and organised parking lots,attentive paid porter setvice and informative signage. Well stocked duty free shops and outlets. Not much variety in food. Overall a grand experience.

2018 Finally opened. Everything is modern. Finally there are finger docs! No more change to buses. What a new comfort! Very nice. Certainly not the biggest airport in the world but worlds better than the old one.
2017-age airport. We are still brought by bus from the plane. New airport is already almost finished .
Vast area...nice...and good behavior from immigration and other officers.

Small but nice to wait your flight with 2 hours high speed wifi free of charge. Don't spect too much in Duty free shop, not much choice and expensive.

Infrastructure excellent interiors are beautiful ... but my Early morning flight had only one check in counter and lesser staffs ( actually noone was there) to guide to gates...

Shocking. Shocking. Shocking. What is the point of a new airport with only 1 person working at passport control? Then the supervisor comes over and keeps talking to the person causing more delays.
I could go on but as we all know, nothing will be done.
Looked like a relatively new airport. I stayed there in transit for around 8 hours and had a pretty unremarkable experience. Nothing out of the ordinary. Super Clean
The airport was new, easy to navigate and clean. Our bad experience was at the Tickerdaze restaurant - our food took 20-25 minutes to come in an empty restaurant with only 2 other patrons, with 6-7 staff standing around! We had to ask 3 times for our food, when it finally came, one of our orders was wrong and all the dishes were cold/room temperature. Worst of all, no apology or acknowledgement from the staff. That was the only thing that spoilt our entire experience at the beautiful airport.
Nice Airport. But the current airport does not have any aero bridge. Nothing to worry, a brand new airport is coming up soon, with ultra modern facilities.

A brand new, modern airport. Duty free, I found very high priced us thus uninteresting for me. Lots of stuff, which one gets everywhere on airports shops and little original from Oman.

Muscat International Airport (IATA: MCT, ICAO: OOMS) is the main airport in Sultanate of Oman, followed by Salalah Airport in terms of area and size. Muscat Airport is located in the state of Seeb. The airport operates Oman Airport Management Company and Oman Aviation Services Company. Muscat Airport is the main operating hub for Oman Air. The airport is about 30 km away from the ancient Muscat. These days, the airport is being enlarged, enlarged and modernized and passenger capacity is increasing. The new airport expansion plan extends to 4 years to increase the capacity of the airport to 20 million passengers annually. The plan is already underway and is expected to be completed by the end of 2017. There is a plan to increase capacity to 48 million passengers in the long term. Don't like this airport at all. Over crowded, things are not in order, airport staffs are shouting like they are in Fish or Vegetable market. Lounges are very far from the departure area. Worst experience ever.

One of the cleanest and freshest looking airport. The layout of the shops in line with the various departing gates is great. Huge selection of various international brands of clothing, electronics and food items.
The Gold shops have a great selection of jewelry and the designs include some exclusive content from all over Middle East.
