The airport is fabulous. It is just the appropriate size for a city like Muscat. This airport has a lot of good areas to rest and take naps.

A huge new state of the art Airport, in Muscat-Oman, Spacious, Fresh, Sustainable Design, Great Architecture, Amazing service, Stuff is really friendly
Beautiful architecture but very unfriendly staff. Just one guy at a coffee shop was quite polite. Unless this I made a lot of bad impressions there. Will avoid to get there again.
New airport is too big. Each and everything is good. Especially there restroom are very neat and clean. They provide strollers for baby. Children play area also available. One of the main disadvantage is shortage of space for seating near the gate.so it's like overcrowded
The airport meets the expectations of international standard and has been built on solid planning and is definitely quite a few steps up from the old international airport. Hats off to his majesty on developing this amazing nation to this extent.

The expansion of Muscat International Airport
Are currently working on the expansion of the airport and increase capacity for travelers to about 56 million passengers have been the opening of the project on March 20, 2018.
They redesigned this airport pretty well. It is very modern and easy to get to the gate. The main area is done really well. The Duty Free is cheap and has a wide range of products from alcohol to chocolates. The only critique is adding more restaurants to the airport. I was using the Primeclass Lounge most of the time.
Nice
Wide
Large
developed
Modern
Quick and premium services
Great deal
Nice beautifull airport of oman I love sultan qaboos may he live long ~!

Being here always feels like modernist haven. From its incredible design, to its astonishing duty-free, and the immense quality of its lounges. The Oman Air lounge is luxurious, and offers a convenient relaxing spot, while the Primeclass lounge (Emirates, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, etc.) offers a great view of what's outside, along with decent food, resting spots if you want to take a nap, and even a private place to watch whatever you want up on the two TVs (Yeah, it might not be the best experience, but it works). I've yet to stay in the airport's hotel, but it looks great.
Regardless of where you go, ceilings are always high, and you'll even see incredible works of art as you board your plane.
When you make it to arrivals, you're met with mind-blowing surroundings, and the immigration officers are great. Immigration is a bit lengthy, but they do use passport scanners (Huh... convenient). Baggage claim also has tons of space, giving you an amazing feeling of being in an open area. Even after you're done, there's still tons of great stores within an immersive view consisting the upper departures. Even the car-rental garage feels incredible. Not renting a car? Then great! You'll meet a generous Omani who'll take you where you need to.
It all comes to how Oman precisely knows how to welcome and give you that amazing experience, especially with their perfect airport. Happy travelling!
New muscat international airport is still developing, it is far better than old airport with it's fast service and grear ambience. E-gate makes it faster for immigration... Large space for check in helped fast moving, silent airport.. Cleaning is always done.. Security system also updated... Many shops available in duty free area.. Well decorated airport.. Really an international one...
First time I've ever been and I found it to be well maintained and a very clean airport. The prayer rooms are big, but could do with some heating though. The whole process from passport control to security was easy and efficient.
The new airport is at the pinnacle of creativity and excellence and is considered among the best airports in the world
Muscat airport is the next big thing! Very clean and the staff are courteous. I llike this place
New airport
Beautiful digesting
Larg space
One of the most beautiful airports in the world with a modern and heritage design that highlights the Sultanate through its alleys
Oman Air: Flew with Oman Air for the first time from CDG, and the flight was a new Boeing 787 with sufficient legroom even in economy. Meals were great, interior of the aircraft was clean and service great. The inflight entertainment is less extensive compared to competitors Qatar and Emirates but has quite a few new releases so you will not be bored. Five stars for this particular flight.
Airport: The airport itself has just been opened on 20th March and while it looks awesome, there are improvements to be made with regards to operations and directional signage could be better. I'm sure these will become more efficient in due course.
Duty Free: Generally more expensive than dubai and less expensive than Qatar. Also quite small and limited in choices. Again room for improvement.
Lounge : The Plaza Lounge is quite big and has various zones for privacy and resting. Coming soon are game rooms & cinemas. The food though was quite bland, limited in choice and sometimes a bit dry.
Wifi: Free and requires registration with a mobile number but quite slow.
Overall 4 stars because of the areas that need improvement.
Good, nice and clean. Staff however are less friendly and reluctant to give WiFi password. All facilities to kill time are available. Oman air and Muscat airport are much underated.
The 'Gateway' to Oman, as the country grows into one of the world's most beautiful "must visit destinations"!
I love Oman and it's beautiful people, that wear their 'hearts on their sleeves', and every visitor immediately becomes 'a part of their family'!
My fifteen years in the country will grow into eternity!
Thank you beautiful, generous Oman...
The new Muscat Airport is beautiful with lots of shops , restaurant and their lounge are a beauty with excellent service. The immigration staff, the transfer ticketing staff, the security staff all are very nice and they treat everyone with respect and greet them with a smile. Its a real pleasure to pass through the wonderful Airport and surely Oman itself is a very friendly country with humble people . Have passed Muscat Airport few times and each time it was a real treat. Good Job by the management and I hope they maintain the high standard . The facility is very neat .
The best airport I have ever been in .. I advice every one to use it as transfer .. You won't regret
amazing upgrade - immigration staff is still slow :(
rest of exprience is amazing
The airport Smells great, and lots of duty free shipping options
Very clean and modern airport, with a good amount of restaurants and shopping areas. The location is perfect, it is like 10-15 miles northwest of Muscat. My only complaint is the lack of bathrooms. You have to wait, like, around 15-20 minutes to use the bathroom. That's why I'm removing a star, because IMO, bathrooms are very important.
Deppressing airport, low ceiling, not enough lighting and you can barely hear the overhead! AWFUL
I would never choose a flight stopping here!
New airport is silent and good arrangement for waiting!
It is way too cold throughout the airport.
The waiting area before boarding has felt minus degrees.
Otherwise you have to pay attention to transfer flights as you get to your flight, as the roads are sometimes further away than at other airports
A new airport, clean and very spacious .. The most beautiful of the ethics and friendliness that the people of Oman receive
Car rental prefers to book in advance to avoid overcrowding and problems
One among the best airport in Middle East.Well maintained very clean and tidy .Friendly staffs with warm service Lounge access available.
The airport is new and well done... but it is too large. The architecture is good but it could have be more traditional and should have been seeped in the Omani culture.
Oman has great wood work and unique metal work designs and patterns. They could have used some of it to reflect the tradition and values of Oman!
But still Wow! A new airport in Muscat too!
Good appearance. Fastest service in immigration check using residence card method.
A very sophisticated airport and one of the most modern airports in the world
Nice clean airport with good service. Beautiful setting and calm atmosphere.
Big Airport, renovated recently. Security checking are done in a professional manner. Parking fee is hefty.
Beautiful but, God willing, in 2016 will open a new airport
the staff of this airport is omani
and they are very unactive like slow ...
Good airport with all amenities and great lounges & restaurants, although internal transfers to the other side of the airport are painstaking & time taking
New airport. Good and progressing to become better.
Great ambiance, facilities. Enough lounges to relax during long connecting flights. Hygiene restrooms. Electric car available for elderly people.
Bus services are available twenty four hours from and to Ruwi. It costs you one Oman Riyal where as taxi charges varies between five to ten Riyal.
Nice coffee shop is available is lobby area. Foreign exchange, prepaid taxi, mobile sim card, curious shop are all available. Designated smoking areas are provided for those who like to have a smoke.
After check in, immigration and security check,, you can access Duty free shops, and restaurants. Overall a pleasure experience
I am very unhappy with the service that Oman has delivered. The flight was delayed and they did not accommodate for anything at all. My mum is in a wheelchair and no agent assisted her and no arrangements had been made. We were left waiting in the airport for several hours. The customer service team had said arrangements have been made but no arrangements have been made. They didn't return my call when they had promised to.
Terrible airport with haughty staffers with a cold shoulder for anything u ask. They treat people like a herd. A very basic airport with very little aminities.
Security line too long, nearly missed a flight. I just don't think transit passenger should undergo strict security check.
One of the beautiful airport and helpful staff.....Loved It
The new terminal is just great! It offers many shops is nice and quiet and everything goes very quickly.
Muscat airport business lounge ;The breakfast spread in the lounge was quite impressive. It featured a good variety, and also looked tasty. There was a selection of both Arab and Western options.
Nice Airport. Good facilities. But keep ample time for check-in process and immigration. It can be very unpredictable and time consuming.
Still under construction, but overall is good. The airport very clean, the musholla is big, staff very helpful although they don't understand english very well. Muscat international airport have central terminal for Bus to all region in Oman and Uni Emirate Arab. i think if the construction have done, it will be become one of best airport for transit.
Very nice and calm airport! No much traffic - PPL -
I suggest to keep more mobile - laptop charging points !
The machine scans the passport to get free wifi errors, making transit unpleasant. Please check the mecine regulary.
The new airport looks so different compared to the old one. Its almost like a mall.
The new airport is great. Modern and many places to rest transit passengers. The lounge is comfortable and free. Unfortunately I am only here for a short transit and at midnight so I feel unsatisfied. There is a free stroller loan which is really useful for me who is traveling with 2 toddlers, they are happy to be taken around using a stroller and we are not tired of carrying it
A very, very excellent airport .. considered one of the most luxurious airports in the world
Fantastic new airport. Clean, modern with plenty of restaurants and stores. Several lounges available for business and frequent flyers.
I used Oman airport twice in this month. This one is relatively new airport and trying to become one of top 20 best airports. The terminals are new and looks beautiful
Pros:
1. Very clean and neat washrooms, premises and environment
2. Good Wi-Fi (you need to scan your passport to get the password - Love it)
3. Phone charging stations +USB ports
4. Resting places, & Sofas for passengers who has long hour layover
5. Friendly staff (though some of them do not understand English)
Cons:
1. Lack of Food courts / cafes (though they have McDonalds and KFC)
2. Hard to find the staff in other areas of the airport except main lounge
3. Elevators did not work when I wanted to go to 5th floor
