Could be a bit more well kept. Halls and stairwells dirty. Most of the hotel needs updating. Rooms were very clean!
Place is huge, very nice but in desperate need of serious updateing and cleaning.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms were in major need of renovation. The lighting was horrible in the bathroom area, which made getting ready for a wedding extremely challenging.
It was very nice, and we'll put together, the food was great too!
Poor quality, poor service, does hot water exist here? We had the misfortune to stay here for four days, our room was shabby, with scratches on the tables and dressers, peeling wallpaper, and the room had an indescribable "funky" smell. Unfortunately, the hotel was at near capacity, so they couldn't get us another room, not even one of the four days were my wife and I able to take even a Luke warm shower, and when I called the front desk to complain they told me that it wasnt usually a problem unless they were over half full?!?! Then my wife thought she left her key at breakfast, I again called the front desk and asked if they could reprogram our door with new keys, which they did, only for my wife to find her old key, and to our surprise, the old key still worked?! Very disappointed in the overall experience here, and though they did nothing to make up for our poor experience, the general manager Rudy did call me following our stay to talk about our experience, however, when I tried to return his call to see if they were going to do anything about it, I recieved no response. Three messages later over a two week period, still nothing. I would rate this hotel with a negative five if I could
Update: gm rudy did get back to me, and offered me a gift card for a dinner with my wife, which sounded nice, as we do come through the area regularly, however fell short when he told me it would be for 25 dollars.. Our breakfast alone while we stayed totaled 39 dollars..
Rooms ans hotel areas are very beat up and dirty. Maintenance could definitely be improved.
I was there for a Irish dance competition in the ballrooms and it w as nicely set up.
Let's start out with the positives. The ballroom was wonderful the food was great. The negatives. The rooms were very dated. The customer service was ok at best. If it wasn't for the wedding i don't think I would stay here again.
Very poorly maintained. Peeling walls, dirty. The only thing that is nice is the indoor pool itself & the friendly staff.
Went for a wedding. This is definitely a resort because it has everything you would need not to leave the compound. Bar, restaurant, pool, etc. It was a little like a maze getting around, but the rooms were nice. Main complaint was that the wedding was 150+ strong and at 4pm. The resort was providing transportation to the ceremony and my room was not ready in time for the bus. I ended up checking in, intoxicated, at 12am. A heavy oversight if you ask me, being that a large chuck of rooms were reserved for this wedding. The location is nice, a bit dark and dated, but nice.
The resort was in fine shape for the New Years Eve party it hosted for 2017! Shortly after Olympia announced they were closing the resorts doors.
They had very nice facilities and a good look to them! The location was easy to find and parking was easy!
It was a horrible experience. our room was not clean even though we asked the front desk to take care of it. our toilet was not working and we reported the problem to the front desk and still nothing was done- we had to ask at 10pm in the evening to be changed rooms so we could have a clean room with a working bathroom. I was offered a $10 discount for my trouble which I found insulting along with a 20% discount off my next stay. I declined the offer to come back to this run down hotel even if they offered me a two week stay for free. we heard they have a new General Manager but he has a lot of work to do to bring this place back to today's service standards. Veronica did the best she could to accommodate us but not having a team that backs her up resulted in us still being completely dissatisfied.
Great pool and spa area surrounded by a pond with a fountain and a wooded area. Very picturesque.
Clean and organized event. We participated in the oconomowoc beer fest. The decor was a little dated.
The worse hotel I have stayed at in over 40 years! Avoid this hotel! Needs renovation badly.
It had bed bugs, bathtub had very slow drain, had leak in above restroom dripping into bathroom below, they charge you to use the workout room (that is a 1st ever), staff was rude, had to call for maid service.
My Husband and I attended the 2018 Military & Veterans Winter Ball at the Oconomowoc location. The staff were all amazing. From front desk receptionists, bartenders to kitchen staff. Very caring and kind. Beautiful Hotel. The banquet dinner was excellent. Only issue was the ATM was out of order during this very large event. Overall though, wonderful experience.

Was only there for less than 12 hours as I was staying there after a wedding. From what I saw it was a pretty standard hotel. Had a full service bar in the lobby and a restaurant as well.
The place is going downhill. The ski hill and golf course are closed. It's not really a resort any more. I live nearby and just walk by.
The venue was nice but there were issues with the microphones and the conference rooms were very cold.
Nice large ballroom, lovely outdoor area. Interior was a bit dated.
I want to give this a three star because the price matches what you get, so it's hard to complain, but there were a few things that just detract from the experience. Waiting 15 minutes to check in because there was only one person working the front desk on a Saturday afternoon, only one bartender at the bar for most of a Saturday night had no-kidding caused 20 minute waits to get a drink. No one was at the front desk when my wife and I checked out; after waiting 5 minutes and looking around we tossed the keys on their computer keyboard and walked out. Overall, not bad; you get what you pay for. Hopefully it was just an off day.
Resort could use a facelift, but it's nice for the price. The only real negatives I found was the incredibly touchy smoke detector and the security door constantly propped open. Every single time we cooked, it set off the detector. Steam set it off. Other than that, it was a good value place. If you're expecting a premium place, you may be disappointed, this resort is straight out of the 70s with minimal updates.
To be honest it was a lot better than I thought. It's great for a couple to get away.
This hotel is not the most updated, but for the price I was not expecting perfection. Newer hotels in the area were twice as much per night! My big draw was the outdoor pool area and it didn't disappoint. It was clean and spacious with a snack bar steps away. I was happy with my stay!
I was there for a wedding and it was very fun! Great space with very patient staff!
Shows some age but we had a great time at the pool with the kids and had a great time at the bar with the adults...
Rooms were not top quality but they still were not bad. Felt like a maze at first. Maybe it's best to leave where the rooms are a little better. But the bar was a great time, The restaurant had a fantastic buffet for a hotel and overall it was a great hotel. We had our yellow ribbon event prior to our deployment. The conference hall was nice and the catered lunch was delicious.
The bed was not the most comfortable. The walls were razor thin, could clearly hear the next room and the door rooms would slam so hard it would shake our room.
We went for a conference. It was adequate, but our room was in the basement. There food was pretty good.
Was really expecting a lot better accommodations than we received. The bed was slanted towards headboard, the vanity light flickered like a horror movie, the refrigerator chirped all night, the shower/tub didnt drain, the sink didn't drain, the walls were so thin that we heard our neighbors snoring all night, there were zero available outlets to plug in phones that looked safe enough to do so. It was the worse night sleep ever and would not recommend this place.
Dirty. 2nd star because staff was nice but not worth the $ per night.
Olympia is a bit of a hidden gem nestled within Oconomowoc with easy access to many other Oconomowoc attractions. The staff are great and really bend over backwards during special events.
Was there for a conference. No over night stay. Resort was clean but outdated. Food was good.
Staffing was under booked. Building is outdated. The conference room was pretty rough and not really maintained.
The resort was very nice. We had breakout sessions in multiple conference rooms and divided ballrooms and the rooms were conveniently located and accessible. Staff was very accommodating.
Olympia is a quaint resort and great location for large meetings, having several large rooms that can hold 50-100 people.
Was at Olympia really for the gun show. It was nice
Fading hotel from a different era feel. Not a bad experience tho...
Went here for a chess tournament. The basement area was nice
Stayed the weekend for girls birthday bash. Package deal. Room decor very dated carpet torn and filthy. Given vouchers for drinks food and spa .the breakfast buffet was listed the time served as 2 pm went to eat restaurant was closed with no explanation...went to bar lounge to get some food. After waiting for a long time bartender finally checked on our order...food came out cold and looked terrible with no explanation when we asked about why the food was cold he said the cook didn't turn on the light to signal the food was ready so he didn't know it was sitting there getting cold...no apologies...then went to spa where things got worse..no eucalyptus in the eucalyptus room clerk said they ran out...outside pool was actually closed because their lifeguard went home..we had guests meet us there to swim with us and they PAID to do so without being told the pool was closed!!! The place is old and doesn't look like they are maintained at all.rude employees topped it all off..won't be back anytime soon
The inside lobby and hallways look nice and elegant. I had my wedding in the tent outside and it was huge and worked really well. The staff was knowledgeable and nice.
I have stayed here numerous times for weddings and it has always been pleasant. Staff was very polite and rooms were clean and taken care of.
This hotel is very outdated and pretty dirty. The only great thing that came out of it was how great Molly at the front desk was. She is extremely professional and helpful, Olympia is very lucky to have such a wonderful employee.
The check-in process was a mess--the desk was very slow and rooms weren't ready on time. The hotel is run down and dirty, and the room itself was also old, not very clean, and smelled bad. It was also pretty pricey for such a crappy experience. I wouldn't return, and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.
This hotel is stuck in the 70s and not the cleanest Place either their swimming pool is falling apart the restaurant in Olympia Rick's Cafe good prices and good food that's all I could say about that place that's good
This is the absolute worst place! It is a friggin' roach motel for sure! Stayed last weekend (10/20/17). The room was filthy, cob webs, spiders, roach infested. The toilet and tub were not tidy at all. We received no housekeeping services as our room was not cleaned the entire weekend; our towels were never replenished. When we complained to the front desk, they couldn't care less and did nothing to rectify these situations. Please do not stay at this outdated run-down hell hole.
Really nice rooms with comfy beds. Nice spa areaanf bar
Convenient location, fair prices, mini fridge, comfortable bedding, clean rooms, nice staff, decent restaurant. It needs some renovations in certain areas, but for the area it's largely a good choice to stay at compared to some others. I wouldn't have a wedding or "resort" intention when staying here, but it's nice for a hotel if you're just staying a night.
the worst hotel ever... Dont waste your time and money.
Staff really helped to make sure my event went smoothly
My husband and I stayed there because of a wedding. Everywhere you looked, the hotel was in need of upkeep and repair. Our first experience....BED BUGS. Check your mattresses!! We moved to another room and it was not much better. The sheets were so old, the corners were stretched out and did not stay on the mattress which had no mattress pad. The hallways were very dark and all the rugs were very dirty and worn. There was wood molding that had been split and it was hanging off the wall in the hallway. The bathroom was in need of caulking repair and the toilet seat needed to be thrown out!
Our last morning there, the electricity went out and therefore there was no restaurant available. I think everyone enjoyed the bagels they found in town better then the usual buffet.
After we left, I realized I had left my phone charger. I called right away and the front desk had it but I needed to work with housekeeping to get it. Multiple calls and messages left and still can not get anyone on the phone or to return my calls. The hotel manager does not even return calls or answer his phone.
On the positive side, there are many good restaurants in the area to enjoy!!
Food is OK. Rooms are usually fine, but every year somebody in our group seems to have maintenance issues.
Room had mold in it and it was bad, the wall and ceiling were separating from each other. The walls were damp, couldn't get moved to a different room and only got 20% off.... Called when got home and realized forgot something in room they said they found it and would mail it and never did. Just called and woman said she didn't receive it to send it out. Not a happy experience at all. Wouldn't recommend to others
I stayed there for 5 days for business travel and will never go back. 1. The employees are rude and angry. 2. The room's carpet was dirty. 3.The spa is old and dead ants were in the hot tub along with dirt on the floor. 4. The pool's floor was slimy and the pool area was poorly ventilated and very stuffy and uncomfortable. 5. The bathroom door was broken with peeling paint. 6. The fridge was very old with open freezer and completely unusable, because everything got frozen. 7. They close the outside pool whenever possible unless they have a big event there in order to avoid paying the required guard. The Motel 8 is more luxurious compare to this place.
For two days I have tried making a hotel reservation for New Years Eve and have become very frustrated!!!!! I write this review in hopes that the way "Reservations" are handled currently are reviewed and that if the "One" person who can take reservations is OFF, that there is a back-up plan and someone else can handle and "make reservations" for those few days while they are gone.
Yesterday, I am told it is the Manager who I need to speak to and I am put into a voicemail and assured she always calls back. I waited all day today for a call, and nothing.
Today, I call back and I explained yesterdays conversation and the guy tells me that is correct. Only the "Manager" can make reservations, but she is off until Friday. No one told me that last night when I was leaving a message and expecting to get a call back today. I then asked, is this "manager" the only one in the entire place who can make reservations and he states "Yes" for special events like this. OK, maybe it is just me, but that sounds foolish to turn away business. When people call to make reservations, they don't want to wait for phone calls back, they want someone on the phone at that moment to handle their request.
So the guy on the phone today explains he can take my request and will have the manager call me on Friday. I am not looking to wait several more wasted days of not knowing if I have a hotel and confirmed reservation. However, reluctantly I start to give my information and state I would like a King size bed, to only be told that it can't be guaranteed. He said I will not know until the day I check in, if I get the bed size I am requesting. Then to only be told that is very common. (I must have been very lucky in my 40+ years of traveling to ALWAYS have received the size bed I requested, since the hotel staff explained this is very common.) I understand if at the time of making my reservations you tell me all King beds are taken, but to say I won't know until I check-in is wrong!
Feeling like I was just spinning my wheels now, I ended the conversation and said thank you to the gentleman and said I will take my money and business elsewhere. I was really looking forward to having a fun night out with the hubby for New Years and ringing it in at the Olympia Resort, but now I guess I will be making different plans!!!!!
Horrible spa experience... Half of the pools weren't working and only one of the heaters for the hot tub was functional. One staff member rudely asked us if we were getting spa treatments or else we would have to leave ... Isn't that why we have space robes on? Anyway, the men's locker room was disgusting... old showers that looked like they weren't cleaned and chunks of concrete missing from the stall walls. No water to drink and some nasty old "exercise equipment " inside. My massage was okay, but my wife had a horrible experience. Turns out the same woman that questioned if we purchased massages was the second fill-in masseuse. Didn't know how to give a good massage and had to rush off abruptly toward the end of the session. To summarize, I would never go back and you should never stop by. Spend the additional money and go somewhere else... anywhere else!
Open to support entrepreneurial events such as concerts and raves.
My wife is a soldier and we go here for military events. The staff is fantastic and the rooms are spacious and clean.
